  • "Concealed by the fog"

Disables any aura reading in the trial by anyone.

i never understood this whole argument about survivors having so many "second chance" perks in the first place because you mean to tell me that the role that's literally called SURVIVOR has perks and mechanics that are meant to help them (wait for it) SURVIVE!? Le gasp

but also, the real main reason why Survivors have so many "second chance" perks and not Killers is quite simple.

    Because unlike survivors, killers can't:

    • Die
    • Get tunneled out of the match in 3 minutes or less while getting minimal bloodpoints and a miserable experience
    • Facecamped to death by Bubba
    • Get slugged and left to bleed out on the ground for 4 minutes

As killer you don't have to worry about any of this happening to you when loading into a match as you control the flow/direction of things. And even if you have a rough match as killer, in my experience you still walk away with usually more bloodpoints than at least 2-3 of the survivors

THIS! Truer words have never been spoken and it is something every killer main seems to argue against.

The only change I think No Mither needs is that it starts the trial deactivated, then becomes permanently activated the first time you become injured.

i actually second that. The killer doesnt know you have it for free at the start of the game, nor will he know till he figures it out. Killers do not see if you are broken or not. You still leave scratch marks so the killer would have to pay attention if you leave a trail of blood. Also, no mither should be exlusive with self healing perks or perks that cause you to become broken for a time. Im actually talking about chaos shuffle in this instance. I had a friend who got reactive healing, for the people, moment of glory and… well, no mither. Talk about chaos shuffle telling my friend "fk you in particular" :D

I think it sets a terrible precedent. I get the fear that new players are gonna face a Haste stacking and/or Hinder stacking combo, and be like, "The killer's way too fast! I can't do anything to get away!" But news flash, they do that anyway, whether the has Haste/Hinder or not. And dude, these people are complaining about killers using their entire build to pull off 1 combo. The strength of these combos is up for debate, but some of them really aren't strong.

Like, I had a friend years ago who we tried to body block a hook for, but because the Blight had Agitation, Iron Grasp, AND Mad Grit, he still got hooked after like 2 people going down for him. "The killer should not be able to carry me for that bleeping long!" and then he DC'd. And it's like, "Dude, had we not gone for a blocks, he would've been a 1-perk killer all match." It was our mistake! Yes, we didn't know he had those perks until it was too late, but that's the point of niche combos like that. The survivors shouldn't get to know them for free. Tangent, I know.

But Haste/Hinder combos similarly deprive killers of much needed other perks. I had a build which was STBFL/Rapid/Superior Anatomy/Unbound. It actually made tiles like shack playable for M1 killers (half the time, anyway). So I was excited for the upcoming Unbound buff, from 5% Haste to 10%. But the not stacking change just killed the build. Just imagine what's going on in the macro. Yes, the killer is using Haste and/or Hinder stacking to down survivors really quick, or make them play so safe they use up lots of pallets in a short time period. But that's simply them fulfilling the requirement of their role. You HAVE to down survivors back to back, with no breaks, to keep your momentum going. And all those perks contributing to better chase times, is at the cost of gen defence, and aura reading, and endgame stuff. Don't survivors WANT killers to not run that other stuff?

I'm just afraid this is gonna be the start of built-in perk lockout system. "You can't use this perk and this perk together, because that's too strong!" That's basically what they've done here. "You're not allowed to use synergistic perks to create strategies!" There's survivor perks as well which get messed up by this change. At least we won't have to deal with Made For This/Soul Pact combos. But survivor Haste stacking was always more problematic than the killer's, because killer going faster at least advances (or at least has the chance to advance) the match. Survivor Haste stacking just makes them borderline uncatchable, which prevents the killer from advancing their objective. The killer having the same just makes survivors have to play safer or loop better, as I've said. But this is all water under the bridge if this change goes through. I just wish the devs had focused on something different to balance the game. Wise man (not me) once said that speed differentials are bad design in this game, and I sort of agree. But now that it's been in for so long, we've become attached to it. It feels like the devs are just taking away fun combos and stuff.

Let me guess, you just want all survivors to stand still while you down them all? At least that is what i read from this. Chases are not fun because you cant catch anyone (though killers do that all the time). So for you to actually have fun, the survivors need to be walking around looping points? Would that work for you?

You can pick it up before you walk out…

Comparing killers weapons to survivor items is a stretch and makes no sense… The killers weapon is required for the game to function, items are just a luxury. Items are more comparable to killer addons, of which they are consumed every game regardless of win or loss.

Items are a luxury. Man are you even listening to yourself? And how are killer weapons required for the game to function if any killer can just walk up to a survivor and hit them regardless of their power or if its charged or not. Seems like their powers are quite like a luxury too, isnt it? Items are not comparable to addons because without items a survivor is just a survivor, doing the usual survivor things. Running, repairing gens, the usual. A killer without their power would just be a killer as well. Just running, hitting survivors, hooking, etc. Items like killer powers bring variety to the game. Items allow survivors to heal themselves, break hooks, blind killers, speed up generator repair, much like some perks do. They all come with their own addons as well. Killers have their powers that you can use to gain advantage and bring variety to the game. They allow, killers to become undectectable, one hit survivors, speed up their movement, hinder survivors progression etc. Too much to actually name them all. Without all of those we just have survivors and killers doing what they normally do. Repairing generators trying to escape or hitting survivors trying to sacrifice them all. Addons are what modify those things to give them even more power. So do tell me again how this is a stretch.
Also, when your items are somewhere on the map edge, how are you to run and pick up your item from the exit gate, or before going to the exit gate, when the killer is hot on your trail? Also, what is the point of doing that if the killer just hits you again only for you to drop the item… AGAIN. Not to mention, the killer will see you as soon as you go for your item so instead of patrolling the exit gates looking for the survivors trying to open them, he will charge straight at you. Yeah. definitely gonna go and pick up my item and wave a red flag for the angry bull who is about to lose the match.

Let me guess, you are a killer main arent you? You savior the empowerment playing killer gives you? So you dont really even care if anyone else has any fun in the match as long as you do, right?

    I rarely see it.

You just pick up your item, place it in the corner, now the killer is down 2 perk slots that easily.

and if you manage to get to end game and escape, you lose your item. If the killer dc-s, you lose your item. If you have white ward and you die, you still lose your item. That is what this is all about. Killers dont have to go through blood web to get their weapons. Survivors do. They have to go through the blood web to get their items and if they dont escape, they lose it. Killers dont. They have their "weapon" with them regardless. Boy, i sure would love to see for the hillbilly to end up as m1 because he didnt have enough blood points to get a chainsaw from the bloodweb. Or nurse just floating around because blink was not available in the blood web.

  • @Blueberry said:

Neither of those are OP so none of this is necessary. Your change would also kill both perks. It already isn't that popular.

Isnt that popular? Then why do i end up playing against that so often?

  • I dont think bhvr really cares. They literally released a killer that is the most effective tunneler ever. Unhook - in flies the ghoul. And who does it go after? Of course the most easy prey which is the just recently unhooked survivor. And if its tunneling capabilities werent bad, it can literally jump to you, cancel their power and hit you. The worst part, no skill required. A 5 year old could easily get a 4k on that thing. And all the killers are just gobbling it up like all you can eat buffet. I wonder how they love playing once everyone reaches their limit and wont even try anymore. Just load into the game and wait for their inevitable doom as soon as they hear the ghoul. But sure, what do i know. I just see the signs that everyone else ignores.

  • Totally agree. Any killer that reads what his power does and actually utilizes it in games, is a force to be reckoned with. The jumps have practically no cooldown so he can just latch onto a wall and instantly onto you. Worse, he can do so through windows, pallets, and even if he cannot physically reach you directly. Today i was on the second floor of the house and the ghoul jumped against a tree and then targeted me and managed to mark me from the ground. That is essentially a free hit. Its like alien with extended range, power mixture of blight and nurse, ability to camp and tunnel as he pleases and just get everywhere in no time. If he doesnt get serious nerf soon then yes, this is what is going to happen. People will hate him with a passion and people will just quit the matches because of that. Many might just quit playing for a while or even permanently from it. I played as him as well and the damn thing is just too overpowered. It leaves survivors no room to breathe or do anything really. You cant save anyone from hooks cause he will be there. You cant do generators cause he will be there. You cant open exit gates if even by some miracle you get that far, because HE WILL BE THERE.

I'll just say that a bot has never left me to die on hook.

Hahaha, yes… same here. However, after the bots were removed, i have had around 5 games where i was left on the hook till stage 2 and one time i was left there to die from the first hook to death while 4 other people were scurrying around on the other side of the map, i have no idea what they were doing but they sure were not coming to help.

  • @MechWarrior3 said:

When you say "Who was complaining" Probably 90% of this forum. The front page was plagued with Anti Bot post. Although I dont mind the bots so I am the 10% in the forums. However, at the end of the day we need to find and go with the best solutions.

Odd, found 4 from previous week that complained about legion and bots, 2 however were praising the bots. 1 of those 4 complaining about legion and bots was actually suggesting how to make the bots better, by not stealing herbs or hatches or to not make them instantly run out the exit gates when a survivor is hooked at egc. So, plagued with anti bot posts? I woulnt say that. While i do agree that when i was playing either as a survivor or a killer during the 2 bots per lobby, it was oddly void of herbs. Its much more likely to run into herbs now but maybe make the bots detect herbs and hatches within a set radius. At hatch phase, run around the map avoiding the killer till a hatch comes into range (that is if the other survivor is not on hook already). Make the bots not consume herbs at all. At egc, make the bots wait with escape unless a killer is within a certain distance, and make them try and help a survivor that is on the hook at egc unless the killer is too close to the exit gate where the bot was waiting. The only time i noticed a bot doing odd things was when i was a killer and the other killer was taken over by a bot and he was mostly "walking" around RPD instead of actually chasing anyone. Still better than ending the whole match just because someone had unstable connection. Well, actually, as a killer, i did notice a few bots running themselves into a corner on the edge of the map but, meh… those were only a couple of occasions. They still seemed to do more good than harm. I still think they made survivor side that had random people solo or duoing more bearable when they kept killers occupied for longer than 5-10 seconds because they actually managed to loop the killer a few times. Although, i must say… it is kind of hard looping legion, especially when the pallets dont seem to want to drop when they should.

  • Wow, this is the first "nerf survivors side" post that i actually can agree on. The gens might be going too fast but i do admit, the individual survivor goes down way too fast in this mode. Even when killers are not cooperating, their powers to down survivors are greatly buffed.

  • Actually, its not that bad against legion. If you notice, the bleedout timer does not work while you keep running so unless the 2 killers work together, legion injuring and the other knocking you down, its rather easy to avoid being constantly wounded by the legion. But it is kinda annoying being constantly wounded and then have legion just walk up and one hit you because you dont want to waste time on healing because its near useless against legion in the first place. I think they should extend the frenzy time, make only one survivor who does not have deep wounds visible with the sense and that would be the furthest survivor from legion that he has to hit to get his next target, although he could hit anyone else in view too if they dont have deep wounds already. Just the sense is for the furthest survivor without deep wounds. That would keep legions doing what legions love doing… running across the fields :D
That would only be in 2v8 because that is where him and another killer combo can be a bit overpowered.

  • @SoGo said:

I won't argue with you, since it's your opinion, but I'd like to point out:

Most killers left bots be and let them help the killer side (stealing herbs, doing bot things, running around aimlessly) while focusing on the real players. Of course, not everyone. But I'm pretty sure a large part of the playerbase did this.

Strange, the bots seemed to help the players out more in my games than they did cause harm tbh. Not to mention keeping killers often occupied by looping them better than a group of randoms. As a killer, i often chose bots as first targets but aimed for any targets of opportunity. That is, if i ran into a group, i would chase the bot rather than others because the bots were always more likely to escape.

  • I see cheaters often in this game. Its actually sad seeing a killer use wall hacks in 2v8 because they already get so much aura reading in the first place. So them coming straight for you at end game is a dead giveaway but just seriously sad. Seen killers who see through walls even when they shoulnt. Then ive seen survivors who pop gens as if all their skill checks were great skill checks. I dont care how many hours you have under your belt, there is no way that you can get a great skill check every single freaking time. The worst part is, it is actually hard to determine who to report when 4 gens pop in less than a couple of minutes into the game almost in a chain because… you cant see which of them were doing it. Becomes easier though when its a full swf team. It is also easy to see when you run after a survivor and you cant seem to catch up to them even though they dont jump over anything or use pallets. Its like they run as fast as the killer does. Makes me wonder why bhvr just does not make an anti cheat that would actually monitor what data is being sent and retrieved and to use AI to look for patterns in games.

  • Well its really nice to see you all have superior skills and have looped killers for the better part of your life. I guess this game is not meant for new players or players just beginning to grasp its fundamentals. I can always find other things to play, especially if the community does not give a hoot about anyone with less than 1000 hours in dbd. Guess we will see how long the game lasts with new survivors constantly dying and being alienated while new killer players is a cakewalk. I can easily get 4k in most games. Surviving is a different matter however. Why do i say 4k? Because these responses go beyond the 2v8 mode. Apparently the devs see this the same way these 1000+ h players do. Guess i never should have bought this, but it does not say anywhere that new players should stay away unless they love having bad time.

  • Heh, this OP sounds like the kind of guy who would demand a 1v1 from a survivor who escaped XD

  • Wow. The survivors can open exit gates, how unfair… give killers a free "no way out"! Even though majority of the games the killers dominate the field. Would you like a free bloodwarden to go with it, one that procs as soon as an exit gate is opened? Perhaps a merciless storm? Oh and here is a totally new one, anyone not hooked twice has their aura revealed once exit gates are powered. And you know, just for that extra kick, lets give em a free totemless noed.

  • Awesome, pro dbd players here saying how killers are weak in this mode and survivors i get teamed up do chests and totems, not to mention their inability to use their abilities.

  • @champzaza007 said:

I think you may have just encountered players who aren’t very skilled at the game. When I play with my seven friends, we communicate through Discord, and it’s rare for all eight of us to die in one game. Likewise, when I play as the Killer with my friends, we win some, we lose some. In some games, I don’t manage to kill a single survivor because they communicate well and help each other efficiently.

Based on the points you listed:

    • The Killer doesn’t really have the ability to slow down generator repairs either. In some games, by the time I get the first survivor hooked, three generators are already finished. For me, the Guide class shouldn’t even exist in the game.
    • Do you think the Killer moves too fast? Only Nurse, Blight, Hillbilly, and Spirit have high mobility, and that’s their main skill. The maps are massive, and pallets are placed very close to each other. In some areas, you can find two pallets right next to each other or within 10 meters of each other. Plus, survivors have a class that allows them to repair pallets. So, it’s no surprise that players choose fast or strong killers since survivors also use the same meta approach (meta perks). Just picturing Trapper walking with Wraith already gives me a headache. They almost can’t catch anyone before the generators are fully repaired, so it’s natural for players to pick killers with higher mobility.
    • Flashlight blinding isn’t difficult at all. You or other survivors might just be used to running perks like Background Player or Sprint Burst to rush in and use the flashlight. The fact that there are two killers simply makes them more cautious. In the end, it’s really a matter of personal skill, both for killers and survivors.

7 people huh? So, solo survivors can just suck it huh? I thought id try again today and see if anything has improved. 4 games, 4 losses. Only one escape from each game (1 survivor total that is). So your take is that i have to get at least 7 people together to have a chance of winning against the killers? Since when did dbd become about communication? There is a reason why there is no way to talk to other survivors during the game, aside for the fast pace. The best part about your comment is that the 7 people needed should be skilled as well, i cant just grab some random people out of a group but i need to have 7 friends who have played the game and are good at surviving. Right now, the killers just steamroll over the survivors if most of them are solo which pretty much means that if you go in solo, you forfeit any type of fun you expect from the match and just go in for the killers amusement. Another funny thing i have noticed is that when i go with my friend and decide to go as killer, then 6 out of 8 games we get those super coordinated survivors. So even on that side, not as often though, but still, can be an easy loss just because of that. Now usually if i keep losing, id start looking at myself more thoroughly, and granted, i have about 250 hours and im not that good at survivor, but if 9 out of 10 games as survivor only 1 escapes… something is up. Because i cant be that bad that i cause the death of 6 others as well. And yes, ive played around 20 games as survivor and i managed to escape only once in this iteration of 2v8.

Oh? I didn't know that. I wasn't getting any value from that in my matches and I have been kicking gens non stop. Ill keep it in mind though.

Here is a part from the dev update of 2v8

    Refresher: Base Killer Effects

    • [RETURNING] Damaging a generator reveals the auras of Survivors within 20 meters for 5 seconds.
    • [RETURNING] When starting a chase with a Survivor, reveal their aura to the other Killer for 5 seconds. This aura is removed if the other Killer enters a 16 meter radius of the Survivor.
    • [RETURNING] When a generator is completed, Survivors with no cage states are revealed to both Killers for 10 seconds.
  • The problem is not splitting up at the start of the game. The problem is when there is only like 4 survivors left with several gens to be done. You can either hide, or rush through the gen with teammates, however as soon as you try the latter, killers see you. There is no way to win if there is 4 people left with no progress on the last 2 needed gens, definitely a no win if everybody has 1-2 hook states. This seeing gens being repaired by 2 or more is okay when all the survivors are alive, but when 4 or more survivors are out, it should be disabled for the rest of the match. If you are not in a call with your teammates, then it is impossible to coordinate enough to distract the killers from patrolling the last few gens while someone is trying to finish them. The point still stands, killers have too much info on survivors throughout the whole game. Honestly, im done playing survivor for today and gonna go as a killer too. If i cant even get 30k+ bp from a game with the bonuses included, its more lucrative to harass the survivors. And yes, most of the games i have gotten less than 30k bp today. Only 2 times i got more and 1 of those was also a loss. Out of 14 games, only 1 survivor has made out in about 8 matches (hatch), 1 where all escaped, and 5 where no one made it out. If killers are supposed to win 60% of the time, then this looks more like they win 95% of the time from my personal experience. Now if truly so many games are lost, i would start thinking that maybe I suck big time, but 13 games out of 14, the exit gates werent even open, and there are 7 other players in the game other than me.

  • @MechWarrior3 said:

Killers dont get basic nowhere to hide anymore. You have to use a certain class I believe. I think the range was shortened too.

Actually they do, all of the classes. Some classes have longer range of revealing survivors.

  • I can see that i get most responses from killers here. I guess you havent had many matches as surviors. I have had at least 12 matches today, and killers dominated 10 of them. As soon as 2 people tried doing the same gen, the killers descended on the location like vultures. If it was a few survivors with 2 or 1 gen left, the killers had no issue choosing few gens to patrol and there way no way to finish them. I tried doing one, got about 1/4th done and the killer came back, kicked the gen, ran after me, i managed to shook him thanks to escapist and he lost me and i was back on the gen in about 20 seconds and all the progress was lost on it, From 1 damn kick. Now do tell me how 3 or 4 survivors are supposed to do these 2 gens with killers patrolling them and you get to do as much as 1/4 of the gen during the time it takes them to come back, kick it and nullify all the progress made?

  • Had this happen with me several times. I am right at the pallet and no prompt appears to drop it, even though it should. By the time i move around for the game to understand that i am near a pallet, the killer has either hit me, or ran through it. Had this happen today. Ran to a pallet, pressed the button… nothing happened. Pressed it again and THEN, i pulled the pallet down. The killer had already ran through the pallet location by that time avoiding it completely. They really need to adjust the games recognition of how far the pallet is from the player and when the player can pull the pallet. This has been going on for months. Not that noticeable on some maps, but very noticeable on others.

  • First i got bloodweb error, then sent back to loading screen, then initialization issue, then version mismatch and verified my files, then network error, no connection, initialization again and so on. Im wondering how many errors are they gonna bomb us with instead of just having an error saying that the server is having issues, please try again later. But as always, companies love to blame the player for the problem and deny that their servers are having issues. After wasting 1 hour of looking up what is going on, i finally found this here that says that it is their servers that are the problem. So how about you give me my 1 hour of my life back that i spent looking up the false errors the game threw at me. This is easily 3 games which could possibly rack up to 200k BP if not more. Also, 1500 xp. Depending on how long it takes for you to fix the issues, the 3x BP should be extended. But sure, i make about 15 bucks an hour so you can pay that too if everything else here seems like too much. Good luck on fixing whatever it is that is plaguing the servers.

  • Ive noticed alot of the emblems seem to either not progress at all, or just dont work as described. Just finished a game where not a single generator was completed in the first 9 minutes of the game (i managed to keep them seperated and slow on generators), yet the game didnt even give me a single point in gatekeeper. Just, no points. Nothing. The only emblem that still seems to work, is the chaser emblem. And, well… devoted too probably, if you get 2 hooks on everyone and then kill everyone. Just need to make sure that you camp the hook so the survivor can free themself before the hook stage advances… Otherwise its bye bye for the iridescent devoted. If anyone gives up and just uses their escape attempts to progress the hook stage, that too will make you lose it. Better count your hookings too, if the last one escapes through the hatch with less than 2 hook stages, no iridescent for you again.

  • Just make sure you dont run into your own team doing a gen or healing someone while the killer is after you. That is the worst thing you can do for both your team and yourself… unless you have already been hooked twice and some other things you might consider (trust me, its a very rare occasion you should even consider doing that). As a killer when someone does that to me i just go after him/her regardless or in 2v8, like they grab someone out of the cage right under my nose to be a meatshield i just ignore the unhooked survivor and run straight after them with even more vengeance. As a survivor, i run right after the one who uncaged me so i can make sure that his meatshield tactic does not work. This is usually rare circumstance in 1v4, it happens more than i want to admit in 2v8.

  • Funny how people complain only about the killer side when killers are already boosted to death. Any experienced killer has no issues taking down survivors. Not to mention that there are killers that are outright broken. The doctor to name one, no matter how far you are, you get shocked and scream to let him know where you are. Not to mention that getting hit by him, for the rest of the game, your skill checks are screwy. I honestly dont care which map it is i go to. Id rather have other offerings because i hardly ever use a map offering. Id rather wish i could be able to sell the maps for 25% bp refund or JUST GET THE EFF rid of them. They clog the bloodweb and my offerings menu. Every level you get like 4-7 map offerings, just slightly less than gray quality offerings.

  • I think the skill check is already bad enough as it is. When a skill check occurs i usually pass, but it is impossible for me to react when the dial appears and the zone is located before the halfway point through. I usually miss all of those because of this. Killers are already op against many newer players. If this was implemented, i would be so done with this game. I play both killer and survivor and if this were to happen, then most new players who would play survivor would go to play killer instead and quickly learn that only the most experienced survivors are what they get put up against because most if not all newer players or players with slower reflexes would have just left. Overall, it will hit new players the most and eventually only leave high skilled players which is neither a satisfying deal for the player base nor is it good for the devs. If you have lightning reflexes and can run a killer around till the sun goes down, that is your skill level. Many dont have that. In addition, many people who play this game actually have lives that hinder their ability to learn the game and how to avoid being hit by killers etc… or hone their reflexes to a point of superhuman.
