  • Some do it for their own extra points. Some do it to give points to the killer (free hits). Some do it to t-bag and be toxic. Some do it to heal teammates for altruism points.

  • I would say the problem with this argument is that survivors are then cleansing 5 dull totems on the off chance the killer has no-ed. The only other reason to do dull totems is for inner strength or if the killer happens to have undying. If you only do 4 totems no-ed still works and solo players will never know if they actually got all 5. I think there are more overpowered perks to deal with first, but I would say no-ed is still problematic.

(By the way thank you for the mori change and hopefully the upcoming key change! Seems to be moving towards more consistent gameplay! ๐Ÿ˜€)

  • I wish I could punch the doctor in the face for making matches last 2 hours!

And I wish I could punch Laurie for bringing DS into this game!

  • Typically the community becomes very toxic around Christmas, because of all the new players. The new players are frustrated going against veterans, and the more toxic vets come back because there are so many new players to bully. Legitimately should be a little less toxic in a month or so.

  • NVM missed the actual post instead of just the title.

  • Another code you can use is "EntitysLittleHelper" for the survivor's reindeer charm.

  • My best advice is focus on improving your gameplay instead of surviving. I play solo and you will go crazy if your goal is to survive, because you can't control that. If your standard is to play well, learn something, or get better you'll be far more in control.

Also, I would always recommend bringing 'Kindred', otherwise solo survivors just assume someone else will save you.

  • This is clearly a shitpost... killers are here to make sure you have MORE time working on generators not less. Look at them as gen enforcement to ensure you are getting the most out of your simulator! If you work too quickly they make sure you slow down to enjoy the scenery. Most even help give you tours of the map, then find a nice high place for you to rest and look around!!!

  • The fewer "win buttons" this game has the more balanced it will become. The devs have been moving to more consistent gameplay where you should feel that your actual skill is what gave you an advantage. This game is more balanced than ever, and if we give the BHVR a bit of time, I'm sure this nerf will be no different. The devs have already announced a key nerf, so we just need to be patient and see what that nerf brings.

i keep listening and reading to people saying this game is completely survivor sided now tell me please why is this game sooo survivor sided, but before you telling me how survivor sided this game is i wanna share something with you.

1.Devs made Ranking way easier then before so ranks doesnt matter and you get atleast 2 people who shouldnt be even close to red ranks means the devs made it easier for killers so they dont have a hard time anymore.

2.Dedicated servers, most killers have such a high latency that they will get undeserved hits on you 90% of the time.

3.Maps, reworked or new maps are full with unsafe pallets, dead ends and as if that isnt enough there is a game mechanic named "Bloodlust"

4.Hitboxes, the survivors hitbox are the double size of the actual model + the killers weapon also is the double size of the model combine that with dedicated servers, have fun.

    5.SoloQ + the ranking i mentioned before.

6.Killers become stronger with every patch + new good perks like the new meta Tinkerer, Undying, Ruin while survivors get useless perks.

7.except the meta perks DS, UB, BT, IW, Adre etc you're screwed and rely on your teammates (have fun relying on the urbaning and self caring megs) also as soon you dont use that perks you get either hard camped or tunneled.

and here comes the next issue, devs havent done anything about camping and tunneling meanwhile they rework maps with deadends, keep bloodlust in the game, make the ranking completely a clown fiesta, 90% pallets, dedi servers, hitboxes etc

8.Ressources are limited (pallets, windows) while there are no good tilesets spawning anymore, reworked main buildings and IF you just need to break a wall.

you also need to deal with 90% of unsafe pallets, aka bloodlust pallets + everything i mentioned like servers, hitboxes, dead ends etc

9.did i already mentioned huntress hitbox? one hit hatchets, exhaustion addons like for clown what doesnt take a little bit of effort to hit, in general addons. when did you touched any addons? meanwhile devs try to destroy flashlights with every patch by changing the animation and fov for literally no reason.

so.. why is the game survivor sided again? devs made one good change and that was the mori change.

    Spirit with stridor is fine.

Pyramid head spamming his ability is fine.

    Huntress hatchet hitbox is fine.

Leatherface able to chainsaw for 30 meters is fine.

Freddy spamming his snares and having 3 meter long arms is fine.

now combine all that stuff together, have fun.

and NO im not a entitled survivor main, i play probably killer more then survivor.

here is what survivors have SWF and keys thats it.

now please tell me "why is this game so heavily survivor sided" im really wondering.

but i know what people will say "SWF exists" thats all what they will say. and my respond to you stop acting like everyone plays SWF. stop blaming your bad decisions on SWF all the time.

but honestly let me hear what you have to say. maybe you can change my mind.

When people consider this game survivor sided it's usually because of effort difference between killers and survivors. As a killer players have to spend the entire match playing well, putting on pressure, and tracking survivors and their gen progress. As a survivor only 1 out of 4 survivors are in a chase, while the others are doing generators. So, the game feels more difficult when people play killers than when that same person plays survivors.

Most people disagree on whether balance should be based on the outcome (ie. killing 2 out of 4 survivors) or how difficult it is to play each side. Usually BHVR finds a balance between these two, which is why kill rates typically average slightly above 50%.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

This game is neither survivor sided or killer sided. Itโ€™s the most balanced itโ€™s ever been.

Absolutely agreed. The actual mechanics of the game have never been more balanced than they are now. Obviously you could argue it can be balanced better, but BHVR is clearly having great progress in making this a completely skill based game.

  • @Speeddemonsaif said:

Also you're kinda entitled for wanting to torture every killer main. (Including me)

    @Speeddemonsaif said:

Also in your comment "Getting outplayed by a bloodlust 3 killer isn't fun" Your literally torturing the killer till they get bloodlust 3. Rethink that sentence.

I think you need to re-read the thread.

"SURVIVOR MAIN HERE WHY SHOULD BLOODLUST BE REMOVED?"

  • I personally enjoying both playing as and against legion. I think when I play as legion the way I use my power can completely win or lose a game for me. Then, when I play against legion I don't spend 5 minutes holding m1 waiting for a chase, because legion is constantly changing targets.

  • Honestly, I don't think that DS is that oppressive right now. The only things I could see a reasonable argument for is removing the ability to use DS from lockers and possibly shortening the duration. (I will say it is extremely annoying when a survivor just hops in a locker and becomes 'invincible' for 60s... that shouldn't be a feature).

  • I haven't personally run into "too many" camping twins, so I can't relate to the whole argument that much... but this doesn't work when the killer runs Make Your Choice (which I have seen many twins run along with no-ed).

  • Hands down I hate doctor matches the most. Don't get me wrong the doctor is a terrible killer, and I mean TERRIBLE. I have run into amazing players on every character except the doctor. However, his power is designed in a way that makes matches take decades. I could play two hag matches in the same time it takes me to face a doctor. So, if you get stuck in an un-fun match, you will be in there for eternity.

(Keep in mind I play solo mainly, so SWF might be better at gen-rushing doctors.)

  • I think people forget what devs actually do. They are responsible for releasing the product their studio requests from them. The devs did an amazing job releasing this game. It's one of the most fun and interesting games on the market, which is why people get so upset over it. You can see the love put into this game initially, but unfortunately the studio itself has different priorities. I guarantee you if the studio put more recourses towards this game's problems the devs would release an amazing product.

  • To play as? Legion, it's fun and action packed.

To play against? Legion, still fun and action packed. (Always getting chased rather than holding m1)

1.3K hours and every killer and survivor fully upgraded? Impossible. I am in the same position but I only have 1 survivor and 5 Killers

Not sure how that's possible unless you're talking p3. I have 500 hours and already have 1/2 the survivors and 1/2 the killers to lvl 50 with most teachables.

You can expect 90% of the dbd playerbase to rage and drop the game when you take off their favorite and sometimes essential toys for even just a weekend. See bloodlust test for example.

I would say if you made changes to both sides simultaneously, it would be far less controversial than the bloodlust tests. The bloodlust test was a complete nerf to killers. People would be far less vocal if, for example, BHVR nerfed moris but also nerfed flashlights. Although, it is true that they would need to be careful about how they introduced these changes from a PR perspective.

I think all those perks would be fine if there wasn't soooooo many perks that are just borderline useless. Like honestly does anyone use Red Herring? Left Behind? No Mither? Lucky Break?

And then there's a whole pile of perks that are so close to being used but just arent quiiiiite good enough to justify taking out something else for.

Yeah, I would say there are a good number of perks that are almost never used. I think the question becomes whether every perk should be buffed to the level of DS/Save The Best For Last or should these be nerfed to be like Alert/Butter Murmur. Personally, I would like to see everything be like Alert/Bitter Murmur, where it is useful but not game changing.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

damn this is an intricate topic.

you would have to remove or rework outrageous perks like unbreakable, object, decisive strike to be mundane like fixated, quiet, dance, empathy, etc.

something the latter four perks have that make them both fun and good: filling niche, and effective in different ways for different situations

the problem is, the devs have balanced the game with perks for too long to switch the whole meta now.

let's see the example: ruindying has been added to fix genrushing problem at higher ranks, but it makes low ranks and solo much harder to win with

i don't even need to say further than that example, as long as swf and solo have a massive gap and the fundamental problems of the game do not get solved then we will never see a volatile meta

you will always want to use second chance perks and gen-slowdown perks and chase perks if you're an m1 killer, nothing else makes as significant effect as these at higher ranks

as long as the game functions like this at higher ranks, we will never see a volatile meta

I agree with the comment about solo vs. swf, but that's a whole other can of worms to get into. What I will say is that I don't think the devs have dug a hole they can't get out of. If we look back a year the killer meta was clear, you ran ruin and bbq or lost. Now we see far more variety in killer perks. Ultimately, I would love to see that same change for killer add-ons and survivor perks. Although, I don't know how many people would disagree with those changes.

  • @MadLordJack said:

I think the Devs should randomly buff and nerf perks out of the blue every week just to shift the meta wildly in random directions and accidentally create insane mechanics that last mere days before vanishing into the void, but I revel in confusion and disorder so maybe don't listen to me.

That would be fun, but I can only imagine the number of complaints ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • The honest answer is to play your killer games between survivor gameplay. Playing killer is difficult and only made worse by SWF and an ineffective ranking system. So, play survivor games whenever you are tired of killer matches, and eventually you be a red rank killer that no longer needs to take 'survivor breaks'.

You could also start using killer tools that are considered toxic (basement, mori's, ect.), but I find most people that do this end up become toxic themselves and not enjoying the game.
