  • Bruh, u didnt get banned... U got a DC penalty. No big whoop, just take a break. I mean if u didnt DC but still got penalty yeah yhat sucks, but by the time you go get a snack/drink/smoke/use the the bathroom/etc., its over. It was over by the time you posted this.

Just be glad its not like Rainbow 6: Siege... My teammates voted to kick me (for no good reason, i outlived them all and won the match... Even tho Im a total noob at that game lol) so at the start of the next round i shot them all (they deserved it lol) and I got time banned for an HOUR. An entire frickin HOUR.

So u know what I did? I deleted that wack AF game... And I went and played me some good old Dead by Daylight! DC system may not be perfect, but it is very much necesary. I cant tell u how many matches I lost/died bc one... Sometimes two... Players DC'd shortly after match start, leaving the other 2 of us with 5 gens to complete. And when they DC, its usually bc they were being toxic and it backfired... So they leave. Great for the Killer... Not so good for the rest of us. So suck it up, take your "timeout" (lol), and then get back to it!!!

I have seen this tactic used in every match with a flashlight. Flashlight burning a killer in any animation lock against half decent killers is useless, since you will lose distance and the killer can listen for sounds? What benefit is there to this?

For me, there is only reason to do this, and it's a rather simple one:

I'm attempting a rift challenge that requires blinding the Killer so many times, and I'm really bad at using a flashlight.

By waiting until the Killer is breaking a pallet, it basically gives you a "free shot". The Survivor isn't as much worried about escaping the chase, or even the match perhaps. They are playing the "long game", finishing their challenge as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to rack up those BP and beef their characters up.

But that's just me... Everyone else might have their own reason.

Trapper actually like, uses a like, I'm cleaver, so like, that's NOT a like, similarity.

One of Trapper's default weapon is a machete, Jason's signature weapon. Throw on any one of his numerous heads that resembles a hockey mask and boom... He's Jason. And while Jason only used bear traps in the reboot, that didn't stop Gun Media as using them as one of his main mechanics in the game. Therefore, Trapper is Jason imo.

Yes I main Claudette (Myers and Ghostface). Yes this is a rant.

I'll be Frank. I'm so tired of y'all (BHVR) disrespecting Claudette. Every other survivor has at least ONE good complete outfit in the sea of ugly but Claudette is here still sitting on the struggle bus for a decent skin. I have struggled so hard to put together outfits for my poor baby but y'all really make it impossible. IDK what's worse between y'all incessant need to give her dark tones or dressing her up in these 90s Sisqo dance extra at an after party ass outfits. I would let y'all slide on the 90s style clothes if they were GOOD and FIT HER.

Like I have legitimately given up hope of her getting a yellow sundress or sun dress period. And it sucks because she looks the best is skirts but I guess we're lucky we got that. I know damn well we're never seeing the beautiful wedding dress Claudette model I saw a while back in game. I get why we're never getting the maid cafe outfit that's been floating around because it doesn't match her aesthetic (but neither do 80% of her outfits but I'm not about to get started on that).

I know we're never getting Claudette dressed up as and of the "nerd staples" in reference to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, hell ANY ######### DND CLASS THAT IS COMPLETELY LEGIT BECAUSE YOU DESIGN YOUR OWN CHARACTERS!

I just...I don't understand why y'all hate Claudette so much. What is it going to take for her to get a complete outfit that matches her personality. She is a quiet mousey girl. Y'all were going in the right direction with the sweater and uniform outfits (the colors just needed to moved around) and then came this clown fiesta of 90s hiphop video clothes out of left field like #########? I thought the horror ended with that belle of ball nonsense where she looked like a prostitute because he makeup was god awful and her hair didnnt fit her frame at all. I had SOME hope with the medice traveler outfit, but know. Here y'all are with the same horrible gown now in gold.

I see why most Claudette mains just wear whatever. Hell she just looks rushed and thrown away so often most of just thinks it's normal to look like we got our asses beat by the inside of the closet.

    I just can't anymore.

I'm just gonna say that Claudette may have bad cosmetics....but Adam has less cosmetics by far and finally got another full outfit after a while and it wasn't that good of a cosmetic

Agreed. I am not a Claudette main, but whe is one of the first characters I reached 50 with but that was mainly in an attempt to unlock Self-Care. Her other perks are not that useful imo. Bond is more useful than Empathy, and Botany Knowledge is only useful in weak health kits slightly better.

But let's be honest, the reason why there are 2-3 Claudette mains in every other lobby is... She is the hardest characrer to see. As such, it is my experience that these players are the WORST kind of teammates, as they will usually spend the majority of the match hiding im various bushes and dark corners rather than work on gens and rescue teammates. I've played games as Killer where I repeatedly found the same Claudette player hiding in the exact same hiding spot (or close to it), then killed them and was accused of tunneling (lol).

In any event, the devs apparently know this, as the majority of her outfits have her dressed in dark rather than light colors. Why take the time and money to design something if no one wants to buy or wear it?.

With that being said, I just happened to notice the other day that Zarina, who JUST came out... Has just as many cosmetics as Adam, who has been out for quite some time. I realize there aren't droves of Adam mains like there are Claudettes, but even so that's just not right. Adam is actally an underrated characrer... i have found his personal perks extremely useful. They just take a litte more skill and patience to use, which could be why he isn't that popular. Or maybe it's bc his cosmetics suck. His default outfit is trash, imo the worst of any Survivor.... That bright grey lab-coat lookin thing he has on will get you killed quicker than anything! You can see that thing flapping around from space! But when you go to the store to find something better, all they have is "different colored" trenchcoats they wanna charge as a whole outfit when hardly any of his outfits change his head... 3 I think.

I have like 20 different outfits for Claudette, and they all have different heads! And I didn't have to buy any of them in-store! They all came from DLC bundles, rift rewards, etc. So I'm sorry, but your pleas of sorrow mean nothing to me. You wanna be a Claudette main? Fine. Own it then. Put on your darkest outfit, fill your slots with all your meta healing perks, and just go crouch in a bush somewhere. Sorry, not sorry.

When this game works as intended, it can be a blast. But I just can't anymore with this matchmaking system. The B.S. that new players have to contend with is ridiculous. Here are two examples from tonight's games. It doesn't take much to realize why many new players like myself are writing this game off altogether.

I am by no means a DBD guru or anything, but I can give a little bit of advice based on your screenshots. In my experience. Forget your rank... Level up your Killers.

If a Killer doesn't have four perk slots (meaning over Level 15), don't use them. Play with your strong Killers and use the BP earned to beef up your weaker ones. If you don't have at least one Levl 15+ Killer, then play as Survivor. Save your BP and dump them all into your desired Killer.

The fact is, it is much easier to pip/rank up and earn BP as Survivor than Killer. And when a match ends in all 4 Survivors bobbing up and down in the Exit Gate, it's typically not bc they were higher ranked or more skilled... It's bc their character is high level decked out with all the strongest meta perks. You need strong perks too. That is my advice.

I just played a game on swamp as Doctor. My build is Ruin, Sloppy Butcher, Nurses Calling and BBQ. And i was using the addons that decrease the terror radius. I was playing extremely fair. I didn't camp and i didn't tunnel (All 4 of them had DS and i didn't get hit by one of them). It was a perfect game because i reached 32k bloodpoints and 4 iridescent emblems.

After the match someone texted me this:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/335/BMVXAHUN7A82.jpg

I guess we can expect Doctor to get nerfed soon. RIP

It doesn't matter what add-ons/perks you use... Doc is OP as fudge now. The only real issue he had before was having to switch from Shock Therapy to Treatment mode. They fixed that, and I'm all for it. Everything else, namely Static Blast, is just overkill. He dominates.

Just last night I was playing with a friend of mine. I am rank 10. My friend is 12. One of of our teammates was a Rank 20 noob, but the other was a green/yellow rank like my friend and I. The Doctor we played was Rank 20. He had one level one perk on, and no add-ons. And he DESTROYED us.

I was first hook bc match spawned me right by Doctor and he hit me with Static Blast within first few seconds of match. He didn't see me, he didn't know I was anywhere near him. But that's Static Blast for you.

I was saved, then he attempted to tunnel me, but I lost him. My rescuer wasn't so lucky. The Rank 20 died first, then my friend. The other remaining player and I finished last gen, then split up and each headed for an exit. He caught the other player at the gate. Dead on Hook.

I hadn't even gotten to the other gate yet, and I was hurt... So I decided to head for the hatch as I had passed it earlier. I was on my way and Doc had no clue where I was until..... Yep, Static Blast. 4K.

I realize this is just one example, but it could have just as easily been any of a number of matches I've played against Doc since rework, and it alwasy comes down to Static Blast. The ability takes zero skill whatsoever. You don't even have to aim it, and the range is stupid far.

Add that on to those annoying backwards skill checks, and the spending half the game trying to get a safe enough distance to snap out Madness before your character starts screaming bloody murder and giving your position, and you have a killer that is just zero fun whatsoever to play against. (Especially when the one thing that might have saved you, DS, fails)

It wouldn't be that bad, except that apparently everyone either knows he is OP or is just choosing him to get around DS, but over half the matches I play on any given night now are against Doctor. Yay.

  • The entire rank system needs to be re-examined and re-worked...bc honestly it's kinda ruining the game for me.

I used to not care bc I was having fun. But after one post-game argument I had with a Survivor who insulted me for being Rank 14 Killer (even though I'm a actually a Survivor main lol), I decided to make an effort to rank up last season...

And I did! At the end of the Season, I was Rank 8 Survivor and Rank 12 Killer! I was so proud of myself! But I shouldn't have been, bc it was a huge waste of time!

"Rank Update Error". Set me back TWO colors... From 8 to 14 on Survivor and 12 to 16 in Killer. I was so mad. So I hop on the website.... "We are aware of the problem". Well great... That's a comfort.

So then I try to tell myself "Idc about rank. I'm just gonna play for fun."

But with the lengthy match-making times, laggy servers, unbalanced matches, getting tunneled/camped by every other Killer, getting trolled/looped/teabagged by every other Survivor, and then de-pipping repeatedly due to all these other factors beyond your control to the point that you de-rank... It's kinda hard to even have fun anymore. Thinking of taking a break, too.

I would like to say this is a generalization, or as I usually say it, stereotype, of what I have seen on the forums. If you aren't like how I described your clique, keep in mind that this is what I have seen and doesn't necessarily apply to you directly.

    Onto to the actual post.

Survivor mains on these forums act more annoyed than anything else (Myself included.) They seem to lash out Everytime something they find fair, usually on the survivor side gets called for a Nerf. They do seem more relaxed than the killers though. Mostly caring about the fun of themselves, but usually including something unfun for either their fellow survivors or killers. Usually rely on "crutch" perks more often than killer (I do understand that.) Survivors can and will support killer ideas when they think it is good for the game's health, and often (at first) calmingly talk about something that contradicts their beliefs.

Killers are sadistic. They don't care how much fun the person or people they play against have. They really are more objective-driven than survivors. Once attached to something, they heavily rely on whatever thing it was. They don't like that certain thing to be changed though. They are more likely to call for needs and state controversial topics, maybe in a thread that has absolutely nothing to do with it. Have a wobbly relationship with the developers at BHVR. But far into the online persona they have set for themselves they care about each other and are open to constructive criticism on new ideas.

Hybrids are odd. Having a personality that neither here nor there. Most are chill. Many talk constructively, but are more open to argue than anyone else as I believe they are the most educated people in the forums. They are extremely rare too, so listen when you find one.

Developers, Community Managers, and Moderators. This'll mostly talk about their actions outside of the forums rather than what they say in it. This small group of people believe that what they think is right is right, without giving the opportunity for the community to say much or anything at all. If course they care about us, but they see us as customers, just the group of people that decide to play their game. But maybe it would be great to see a PTB about something a player came up with rather than themselves.

That is all. Remember to boop every Pig's snoot you see

    Nailed it.

I'm a bit of a hybrid but lean more towards Survivor. Hybrids like myself have the most balanced approach to the game I think because we have the most perspective. When I play I always try to play fair and keep things fun for the person(s) I am playing against... But as like they say, "you can't please everyone, all the time." Some ppl are going to find something to cry about no matter what.

More experienced players might know why this is a bad idea but it seems to me that in my journey to level 16 as killer I seem to be:

A: Playing a lot of survivors way above my rank (I guess that is match making)

B: Watching everyone wasting time in the exits waiting for me to eventually get there just so they can bounce up and down pointing like idiots until I try to hit them and they run out.

Seems to be that the exit gate is like the paint in basketball. If you are in there for more than 3 seconds (or however long it takes to run across it) then you should get booted back to outside the door, maybe some number of meters outside.

When I play survivor (I got to rank 13 so far) if the door is unlocked I either go back in (if someone is hooked) or run out.

Is there a point reason to hang around? I know that getting run around, hit by people jumping out of lockers, blinded at every palette, and then teased at the end seems like a bad look for the game. No killers means no games and if you are being made to feel like a jerk it seems like a serious flaw. I know EGC was put in because of what Survivors used to do, but can you enforce sportsmanship using code?

I look forward to your thoughts!

I just think it's funny how the same Survivors bobbing up and down in the exits/at the hatch/etc are the same ones who cry when a Killer uses NOED... Lol I'm like "You you got all the time in the world to teabag me into oblivion, but no time for totems?"

YEET mechanic would be cool with me, but if they do that against the Survivors they need to do something similar with Killers facecamping hooked Survivors. (Have a tendril knock the Killer back if they linger too close to a hooked Survivor too long.)

As far as the the teabagging, you get used to it. I'm of the mind that a teabag isn't really a teabag if you're 10+ feet away... You gotta be close or it don't count. So when I find Survivors at the exit "bobbing up and down like idiots" I like to say "they're not teabagging me...they're 'taking a bow' lol.

  • Survivor main here, to be clear... But I do play Killer. NOED, just like any strong perk, can be abused. You can't slam the Killer for "never having to learn how to play" and not your teammates who aren't doing totems. I do every totem I see...I know "how to play".

When I play as Killer, I rarely use NOED... but if I do, it is usually less of a "crutch" and more of "insurance." Insurance to help me complete a particular challenge. Insurance to protect me from depipping and/or deranking after one or two matches against a gen-rushing, flashlight-clicking, pallet/window looping, exit/hatch teabgging, toxic SWF group with comms, who....despite my constant efforts to pressure gens.... Give me no time to leave the area after hooking a survivor by immediately unhooking them, so I chase the uninjured one so as to not be accused of "tunneling", but the injured Survivor pops up and takes the hit for them and they get away... Why? Bc they have DS on, of course! Then when they complete the last gen, they open the gates 90% then scatter and instead of escaping. NOED would cause this same SWF group to crumble apart at the end, thus rewarding the Killer for being patient and a good sport against even the most toxic of SWF groups.

  • Bc different players have different playstyles.... Others just like to challenge themselves. Personally I alter my loadout before each match to try and create a build best suited for whatever Daily Ritual and/or Rift Challenge I am doing.

For example, if I have a challenge "unhook X amount of Survivors", I am going to use any and all perks that would expedite the unhooking of teammates... The only time I ever go meta is when I'm in danger of losing my last pip and deranking. Otherwise I go for maximum efficiency at specific tasks, not survival. (I rely less on perks for that, and more on skill and strategy)

  • Tired of getting DS'd? Here's an idea..."Stop Tunneling and Git Gud".

I mean hell, they might have all gotten away... But at least you got Brutal Killer and not Entity Displeased. You could have gotten 1 or 2 of them, but you got greedy and lost all 4. You took a risk, and you lost. Learn from it and move on.

(Perhaps after Steve escaped/you hooked the second survivor/downed the third, you should have left the third on the ground and chased down 4th. The one on the ground may have crawled out the exit, but you could have possibly prevented that last Survivor from unhooking the other. Either way, you take a risk. It's up to you to analyze the situation and decide the best course of action.

  • I play Killer and Survivor, and I dont see what all the commotion is about. I 4K all the time a Killer without Hex Ruin. And as Survivor, I beat Killers using Hex Ruin all the time by either using Small Game to help me find totems, or simply by hitting Great Skill Checks. If you're a Killer who uses Hex Ruin that's fine... Not gonna put u down for using a perk. But if u rely on it to the point u can't play without it well... That's your problem.

    Git Gud.
