I mean, "Death is not an Escape" is literally the tagline of DBD, makes sense.
I just want different game modes in general. Like one with multiple killers in one match but even more survivors, a more official 1v1, etc. Maybe even SOMETHING single-player, but that's probs asking for too much

Overwatch has mouse and keyboard support now? Is that recent since i knew like before may this year it was a hot discussion
Oh wait, just double checked, it's only possible with an adapter.
Earlier I had just went and looked up what PS4 games worked with M&K AND Crossplay, and Overwatch was one of them. Didn't see that it was adapter only though until now

If I'm honest with myself, even though I try to keep it 50/50, I'm significantly better at Survivor, but I just have more fun playing Killer. I'm not running into the same issues you are, but playing Killer is just inherently more of a challenge and I feel way more invested.
Playing surv especially at higher levels and solo q just gets boring sometimes. Equip DS, DH, and BT. Maybe get a little creative with the 4th slot but even then it's usually just deciding between UB, Deliverance, and a couple others. Equip flashlight. Use the same old tactics to loop a killer endlessly until he goes away or the exit gates open. Same old same old.
Playing killer, you have a roster of different characters to choose from, some of them playing entirely different from the others. There's multiple different viable builds to chose from for each killer that can accomodate different play styles. The items and add ons for each killer is different and have their own pros and cons to consider. In the actual match, you have a lot to keep track of. You have to find the survs, chase them, down them, place them on hooks, keep track of gens and do what you can to slow surv progress, observe how they're playing and adjust your strategies accordingly, keep survs from opening and going through the exit gates, keeping track of where the hatch is to potentially close it before any survivors can make it out, evaluating when to utlize any unique abilities and when to just hit normally, and other things that force you to really engage yourself in almost every match. Killer isn't for everyone, and if that challenge just becomes legit stress for you, you should probs just drop it and do something that you DO find fun.

i just want a middle finger emote to use on camping and tunneling killers
I think that'd be pretty useful for both survivor and killer

I don't think it's actually all that common, but some examples are Final Fantasy 14, CoD (Warzone, Modern Warfare 2019, Cold War, Vangard might), Overwatch, War Thunder, and They Are Billions (kinda) are the only games I know of that have both Mouse & Keyboard support AND cross platform play. I'm glad more and more games are becoming crossplay, but I don't really see too many other console games having M&K support, even less that are crossplay too.
I'm not sure what it is that's causing it, but I haven't been having nearly as much trouble against PC players on PS5 as I did back on PS4.

This game does not need more ways for players to be toxic to each other. Not to mention how doing ridiculous actions like dancing goes completely against the theme of the game.
No thank you.
On the theme point, people already aren't playing as intended with the themes of the game. It's supposed to be played as if you're scared of the killer, and nobody outside of newcomers in the lowest ranks really plays like that.
Plus, they worked just fine in F13 and made that game more fun if anything. (I see half of this forum saying that F13 was better than DBD anyway lol)

Ps5 and Series X with crossplay on. Longest I have had to wait is 15 minutes as killer, but only once. I average around 5 minutes, sometimes a bit longer, sometimes a bit less, up to 10 minutes. It's very rare to exceed this for me.
My survivor queue at any time of the day is almost instant at all times. I would say less than a minute on average.
Gotcha. Surprisingly enough, survivor tends to be the one that takes longer for me

Less crazy mouse movements that are hard to counter with a controller. Thats about it.
Ah, makes sense. I usually just wait an extra second or two for them to stop before I go for the hit when they're doing that, but just spinning a little with them using Bubba's Chainsaw tends to be a good counter for that as well lol

I play on PS5, crossplay enabled. I play a LOT due to current life situations, so I can often put in 30 hours+ a week, playing around 50/50 on the split. I have played at nearly every hour of the day -- I'll play in the late mornings/early afternoon, late afternoon/night time, and sometimes really early morning into sunrise, so I feel like I get the complete experience.
I used to get instant killer queues pretty much every time of the day until the console issues really got worse in the last several months. When I game was unplayable on most consoles after the RE update, things changed somewhat, but I saw a LOT less PS players than I did before. Even now, PS killers are far more rare than crossplay ones (who I assume are usually PC). I see far fewer console players playing against me as survivor (or with me, when I solo survivor) than I did before as well.
Currently, if I want to play killer in the early afternoon, wait times actually exist, though I've never come anywhere close to 30 minutes plus -- at MOST, I've waited 5-10 minutes during that time (survivor queues during those times are pretty instant). As I move into late afternoon, survivor becomes a wait and killer turns into pretty much an instant match -- that lasts through until mid-morning (3 AM or so), when the waits slowly start reverting back. I was playing at 5 AM my time this morning (I'm in the CT zone, NA) and I was waiting that 5-10 minutes again, while solo survivor was almost instant. FWIW, once I got past that 3 AM time, the survivors I ran into tended to be all 3-4 person teams, and REALLY good (my SBMM ranking should be giving me good opponents, so nothing strange there, but I've always noticed that the toughest competition I go against as either killer or survivor usually starts happening after midnight). The "casuals" aren't probably the ones playing once it gets to a certain hour.
I've heard stories about ridiculous wait times, but my experience hasn't see it -- again, just my own experiences and their context.
Awesome, thanks for the detailed response my guy

I'm on ps4 with crossplay off. Survivor until about 8pm is pretty quick while killer can be slow, then around 8pm it switches. I haven't had any of the 10+ minute waits everyone else talks about but that could be based on when I'm playing and the side I'm playing at the time. When survivor waits start to slow down is when I either stop playing or switch to killer because the random teammates I get are pretty terrible to play with compared to the rest of the time. I also stopped playing on weekends so don't know how waits are then.
Is there any sort of advantage when playing with Crossplay off?

10 minutes is LONG to wait for a lobby. Is it as bad as 45 minutes...No but 10 minutes is long and before Pinhead/MMR my Q time was near instant.
10 Minutes is just the usual MAXIMUM, most of my games are within 30 to 60 seconds when I play at my usual time which is after I get off of work and start playing around 7pm EST, which I also assume could be considered within "peak hours" for the game. Just stating my maximums since a lot of people on this forum are making it sound like 30+ minute killer queue times are their normal. Me playing at odd times is when the 5+ minute queue times start to happen
-
On Survivor side it's been perfectly fine for me, playing with Survivors and against Killers right around my skill level 9/10 times.
It's been starting to get weirder on the Killer side though. For every one round I get with players on my level, I get three with hella toxic Survivors that just annhilate me. That could be just me being outplayed and not properly switching up my tactics enough to handle toxic swfs, could just be this community continuing to get more toxic, but I don't feel as if I was having this many kinda frustrating games as recent as last week.
Aside from that though, I haven't run into that many other issues and queue times usually aren't long at all during the times I happen to play. For refrence, my experience has primarily been Solo Q on PS5 and some occasional games on PC (I always have crossplay on)
-
Like you said, it's not even that amazing of a build, why so upset with it? Your problem with Hoarder might not even be around that much longer anyway, something tells me the devs are going to take away yet another interesting gameplay tactic by making Hoarder not work with the Box (the one that you opened? that I came to?) soon.

My issue with NOED isn't really the whole 'Do Bones vs Don't' issue. It's a mix of NOED being kinda unfair for Solo Queue, and NOED being an issue for the Killers running it in the fact that it doesn't have enough impact when you're really going to need it.
Solo Queue is already playing at a disadvantage. The fact that their only Totem counters are linked to perks is not cool. (I know it's a change some people praise, but I still advocate for a global totem counter if we're going to push this notion of 'Just do bones'.) To add to it (And this is not an issue with just solo survivor, but it has a larger impact on them), indoor maps have notoriously awful-to-find totems. Mix that with the fact that Survivors don't get a global notification from being exposed, it does feel needlessly rough versus Solos who are already more likely to struggle.
As for Killer, I don't think it's a satisfying perk to run in any capacity. If you play well, NOED doesn't do anything for you and feels like a waste of a perk slot. (Or it just feels like overkill.) If you play poorly, or go against a coordinated team, it feels like it doesn't do enough to help you. If you don't have enough hooks at the point that NOED activates, or can't get the downs fast enough to get good value out of it, then it feels underwhelming. If you're playing against a coordinated team, chances are they've already cleansed the bones, meaning it is, again, a waste of a perk slot, or they're going to find it fast enough for it to not be an issue. (Or just give you that kill and leave.) It doesn't feel satisfying to play with. You're not really getting rewarded for playing well like you would with Devour, and it's not like it's going to actively help you in the middle of the game like Ruin, Retribution, Haunted Grounds, or even Undying would. Sure, it might buy you a little time if they are cleansing bones, but again, in games where you need it, chances are they're going to have the time to do it anyway. Idk, I feel like it's just a perk that is really underwhelming or absolute overkill with absolutely no middle ground, and I think it should be adjusted to be a lot more inline both with other Totem perks, and to make it more satisfying to run.
This guy's points with the killer side of things is exactly why I'm so surprised there's this much whining about NOED in the first place.
Also, I'm in the camp of "if you're so fearful of something that may or may not be in the match, take precautions just in case and bring a build that will help in the worst case scenario". Killers are already always dancing around perks Survivors might not even even have but there's no way of knowing until it activates. DS, BT, and DH are common enough that many higher rank killers just adapt their playstyle in a way where it's as if they already assume every survivor is carrying those perks, survivors should take note of that and do the same if thing if having to deal with it THAT OFTEN. While I do agree that some sort of global Totem counter should def be implemented, in the meantime you do already have multiple options to track totems by just using a perk slot or an item if it's that big of a concern to you.
Even when I'm soloq survivor, so long as I take the right precautions, I can avoid becoming a victim of NOED even without using a perk or item by doing things like being obsevant of where the killer is when the last gen is about to pop, and keeping in mind how the killer has been playing the entire match leading up to the Exit Gates being available.
-
I've kinda been having the opposite happen to me, especially ever since the new system was implemented. It's been like a week since I've waited longer than 2 minutes for a queue (then again, I only really play in the evenings after I get off work so maybe I'm playing during good hours or something). I haven't had issues playing against PC Killers/Survivors, the only time I really notice any weird bugs are issues are against other console players
-
I will never forget the first time I got stunned by my own dream pallet and I just stared at my TV with my jaw dropped for what felt like the rest of the match. Good memories
-
Hasn't it always been that way? I've been having to treat killers as if they're Luffy from One Piece for years now lol

People will still DC. Salt and rage will always trump rationality. Stop thinking this will work unless it's like an hour long, which in turn will punish victims of this game's shortcomings more than the little turds it's made for. And most of them will just suicide on hook or sabotage the game if they can't DC as a form of lashing out.
Your idea is bad and you can still do the fun part of the game (chasing) with dc's. Only killers that play like absolutely wastemen and survivors that love to hold M1 care this much about the DC penalty.
Nah, you missed pretty badly with that last point. People want more done about DCs because it has become so frequent and it's very hard to even enjoy the game properly with all of this happening like 30 seconds into every other trial. As Killer all it really does for me is take away a lot of the intended challenge, and as Survivor well good luck trying to have fun playing a match where 2 people need to finish the remaining 4 gens on their own.
-
Unfortunately the game itself still has issues with crashing and such, so solutions are kind of limited until those are worked out.
I do absolutely think at the very least it should be able to tell when someone has actively opened the menu and pressed "leave match", and that should come with very harsh penalities. I also think the game should track WHEN the DC happens. Like if someone "just so happens" to disconnect immediatley after they get downed by the killer, after another survivor DCs, or if just the timing of the DC is sus with the timing of a particular occurance in the trial in general.
Another cool thing would be to SIGNIFICANTLY increase the quitter bonus everyone else in the trial recieves when someone DCs. A lot of survivor mains even on this forum admit that they'll DC as an F U to the Killer, so it'd be neat to turn that middle finger into a great treat for everyone who continues to play the game anyway. Of course, set some restrictions on that so that it doesn't get abused as a get BP quick method. Like obviously make it so that any players who are in a swf with the player(s) who DC don't recieve any BP from it.
Regardless, the DCs have been out of control in my experience, particularly on the survivor side. It's annoying as a killer about to pick up the first survivor I just so happen to down in the match just for them to immediatley DC, even more so if I'm one of the Survivor teammates and the rest of us are just doomed and left to suffer. More should also be done about those helping killers and/or immediatley suiciding on hook, because I'm starting to run into that bs pretty often too. Toxic survivor mains just have it way too easy in general right now and the little slaps on their wrists clearly aren't doing enough, doesn't help that they seem to be the main ones on this forum crying to the devs about this and that all the time too.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/280321/wanna-get-rid-of-camping-just-remove-the-hooks
Now what is your idea for balancing gen speeds and maps ?
What about the pressure the killer loses for sometimes camping the hook ?
What about the pressure the killer losses for tunneling sometimes ?
What about the pressure the killer losses for faking a tunnel and slugging. Then chasing the person trying to protect them because they think you're tunneling ?
What about the pressure a hook timer puts on a group ?
What about the pressure a hook in general causes because SOMEONE has to be off a gen ?
Gen speeds are ALREADY a problem..And now you want to take away another objective the survivors have to do...? So the only thing left to do is gens...?
I'm sorry. But the time you would save not walking to a hook. Is absolutely nothing in this game.
Could not have said it better myself.
Yeah, getting camped and tunneled in solo q is annoying, but playing a successful game as survivor is still considerably easier than playing a successful game as killer, survivors do not need even less objectives.

Personally, I would love if all the killer and survivor perks that currently aren't "meta" all got really good buffs. Give me more really strong/viable perks on both ends, make me actually have to face more tough decisions when deciding what my four perks will be, and make games more unpredictable overall.
In my experience as a Killer, I can almost always accurately predict what every survivor I'm going against likely has, that being DS, DH, BT, and either Unbreakable or Deliverance. It's a little more uncertain as a Survivor predicting what any Killer has, but once I see what Killer I'm going against in a specific match I can make educated guesses that tend to be accurate. This is currently speaking in regards to higher ranks, since lower ranks actually tend to be a fun Wild West and the players there tend to play very differently than those who have been playing for awhile longer lol.
A breath of Fresh Air and a less strict meta would go a long way for me
-
I absolutley think that in the POST GAME LOBBY you should have the right to know if you went against a swf or not, and if so how many of the survivors were in it, but maybe not saying what player names specifically were in it (have the screen showing what swfs you went against being different than the screen that shows all the survivor names). It's as you said, it would be good for killers to know what to attribute to their loss and what not to, and to know if they were simply outplayed or if the other team had an advantage.
I also think those who come on the forum complaining about getting bullied by swf should somehow have to post a screenshot proving that they really did lose to a swf.
No point in tracking whether or not they were on comms though, people will often be talking in completely different applications.
-
As someone who plays killer and survivor equally, I think people who DC in general are just babies and deserve higher and higher time penalties and/or being sent to the Salt system some people here brought up earlier.
I don't care who the killer is or how bad your luck is, survivor DCs just make the game less fun for literally everyone else. Once you catch on to how killers tend to play at different levels and how certain killers are often used, you can figure out ways to play against them, some like Spirit just take more effort than others.
On the killer side, I sympathize slightly more since Rank 1 four team swfs can be so toxic and infuriating, but once you observe how the patterns of those kinds of groups tend to play, you can also catch on and take them down even though it may be a way closer game than it would against say 4 solo queues. I have no pity for Killers who quit based on Map though, it's no better than Survivors who quit based on Killer, actually worse. Especially since at this point Killers have the advantage of basically being able to expect most survivors to have DS, BT, DH, and some other perk like Unbreakable or Deliverance
If you go in as Survivor, you should prepare to face any killer. If you go in as Killer, you should prepare to face any sort of Survivor group and map. Simple as that in my perspective, then again I don't struggle against Spirits as much as a lot of other people on this forum seem to, and I tend to not bother playing Killers that can be absolutely crippled based on map alone, so maybe I'm just having a different experience but that's my two cents
