I played the game and found lots of rubber banding as killer. closed the game and decided to buy the new chapter through the steam store, and now the game won't run because owning the new DLC gets flagged by easy AntiCheat.

At least they aren't advertising them as something extraordinary
I know right. They only went and said that That it would be like playing a different character. I mean he is mostly dressed different character, so it doesn't matter that a Minotaur is swinging a sword around like a samurai, literally is using a weapon that wouldn't be found in ancient greece, or that his voice lines are the same.
For the record though, I don't think voice changes are necessary, but a complete visual overhaul is needed for the skin to be legendary, and animation tweaks should be done. We were told that it would be like a brand new character, but I think we would all settle for a character that is just different enough to be someone else.

They couldn't change the sounds because of the Licensing.
They couldn't add a new voice because of the licensing.
They couldn't add a new mori animation because the license holders won't allow BHVR.
They couldn't change the name from Oni to The Minotaur because believe me, the License holders wouldn't allow it.
All these are great additions, but sadly the License holders were either too lazy or wouldn't allow it.
Precisely The Oni and The Minotaur licence holders were just couldn't come to an agreement 😉. We should make sure to contact the license holders about this to voice our frustration.
-
Agreed. I know the Kanobo is related to his power and not a skin, but seriously it's just plain stupid to not change it. Legendary skins are supposed to be unique. For his cost he should have at least an entirely different look if not new animations and voice.

@Khakuate I'm not trying to say that is or isn't cheating, which by the way it doesn't look like it is. I'm just trying to point out that I have seen videos of people playing dead by daylight where their fov was wider than what it should have been. Those people in those videos were called out for cheating and people were saying they were using "stretched res". I'm pointing out that what you're calling stretched res is different than what I'm calling stretched res, and what I saw was most definitely cheating.
-
I wanted to point out something I've seen on these forums in recent days. There are arguments over whether or not stretched res is or isn't cheating, and I think people are failing to realize when they argue they are talking about two different, distinct things. Specifically, I've seen stretched res used as a term to describe both of the following.
- Modifying the display settings, which does not impact the game play at all, just how it is presented to you.
- Modifying the in game camera such that the the vertical axis covers x more degrees than it normally does.
The later of these is definitely cheating. If you don't believe it is, I'd advise you to think about how Shadowborn is a perk whose sole benefit is widening the killer's view by a certain amount of degrees. The second definition is literally doing just so as a survivor by modifying the game files, and would therefore be considered having an unfair advantage through cheating. I admit when I first heard about this, I thought that people were talking about the first definition given because honestly, I think stretched res more accurately describes it. Regardless, in the future I hope this sheds a little light onto whats going on, and how "stretching the resolution" is clearly a form of cheating.

God I didn't know about Docs development history. I never really understood why feng, a chinese character, was introduced with Herman, an african american character, when most other characters came from roughly the same place. Although, that said I wonder what the deal with plague and Jane is.
-
@bubbabrotha I think it could. Canonically, the entity is an extra dimensional creature that pulls survivors and killers from different realities. Following this logic, the entity could have selected these versions of the killers from realities where everything was the same aside from the fact that the gender of the killer was switched. Additionally, I don't need it to be the same killer, but gender bent. It could just be a different character who has the same tone as the origional character as well as a backstory that explains why they have a similar power.
For example: There could be two ways to explain a female clown.
#1 This version of the clown was taken from the universe within the multiverse in which the clown was female.
#2 This Character is not the clown, but is roughly equivalent in tone to the base character as well as has a backstory that would make it plausible for them to share the power and mori.

I'm a killer main, and I'm glad that The Hillbilly's cooldown mechanic has been introduced. It's not hard to hold the chainsaw at an unsafe pallet, which is what the game is moving towards. I think this change is good for the health of the game as it means that The Hillbilly isn't the ever present threat in a chase that he used to be. I know it sounds like a survivor whine, but play against a good hillbilly and you see that most will be firing up and putting away the chainsaw mid chase as well as missing it with little reprecussions.

I'd like to start by saying that I completely agree with what you've stated. I feel like Dev communication is something that needs to be adressed, and that they need operations rework and bug fix. One thing I think keeps them from doing this is that they have this idea that there will be a point that everyrhing will just be balanced, and that with each patch things will get closer and closer and closer until it is balanced. Personally, I think this is impossible. Six new perks are introduced with each chapter, and a new killer power as well. They need to realize that balancing every killer and perk so that it is just so is absolutely useless. They need to embrace a more active role in balancing things. I honestly don't care too much if they break perks as long as they're within reason. What I want to see is the meta shaken up.

I think people aren't playing him because his intended play style isn't fun. I don't think learning him and his skillcap have anything to do with it. Take his trail for example. You can either place the trail in a chase to try to force survivors out of loops or you could place it before hand to try to zone survivors. The problem with using it during a chase is that it provides absolutely no benefit during the chase, it actually just hinders you. The slow means you can't use it quick enough, and the fact that you must be looking forward means you can't keep line of sight on the survivor, so they can go anywhere. Then he has his box power. It means you don't have to pick up survivors and carry them to a hook, but at the cost of the survivor being sent as far away from you as possible. In my time playing as him, there was rarely a time when this worked in my benefit because I play in purple ranks and survivors know to run away from gens during a chase so that others can work on them. Then when you box them they get sent right to a gen. Finally his ranged attack is too hard to aim for the little value you get out of it. Realistically you only get use when survivors have no choice but to get hit, but even then the aiming is so weird that a lot of the time you still miss because your camera is always shifting one way or the other.

I feel like however survivor/killer sided the new map is depends entirely on the killer and their perks. Slow killers are obviously hurt because of the massive size of the map. There is a noticeable lack of mobility between floors, which means all killers other than nurse are going to have a bit worse of a time. The map is a bunch of very open rooms, which means hiding as a stealth killer is harder. I don't know how good the totem hiding spots are on the new map, but from playing around 4 games on it I don't think I saw one in the open, so it's a good map for totems.
-
Thanks for posting this. Is it just me, or does it kind of bother you that you can't walk inside the tower because there is a chest in the way?
-
I know that if you place the trail too close to a gen it will instantly go down. I'm not sure, but I think hooks with survivors on them do the same thing.

I agree completely. I hate having the torment UI on my screen because it reminds me of those old video games where they recorded real people and put them in video game scenes. It's very jarring to have a moderate to good looking game and then have these 2000s looking graphics overlayed on top of it.
-
Personally I think its a fun idea and it provides added incentive for survivors to go into the basement, which could make perks like territorial a little bit better.
-
My issue with Claudette is that she blends in way too easily. You can literally be looking at her when she's not behind cover and have trouble seeing her. There are other survivors who also have this ability, like P3 Quentin, but the problem is Claudette's default clothes are pretty dark, some of her purchasable cosmetics are even darker, and her prestige outfit is really dark. for P3 Quentin you at least need P3, but with Claudette her basic outfit is enough to strain the eyes and seemingly disappear from the screen.
-
It's certainly an interesting to do. I would suggest if you go through with it play as leatherface so you can unlock his alternate face cosmetics by killing megs, dwights, claudettes, and Jakes.

@FrootLoops Thats my bad they do a lot for us, and I didn't represent that well in my rant, but I think you and @Dr_Trauts miss the point I'm trying to make. I'm not mad that they want to make a profit. I'm upset with how they are trying to make this profit. Someone along the line should have seen what MoM meant for the game, and it should have been fixed it before the release. I just can't believe that they released Ash without any idea that the perk was broken, and that it would make people want to buy them. As for the rift, my major complaint is that the they are putting a time limit on when you can get these items. I want the items, but I just don't have the ability to get them and I am upset with the devs for it because the only reason I can't get them is because the devs were the ones who decided to limit when you can get them.
-
I agree with you that both Key's and Mori's need to be changed. I wouldn't say that is necessarily removal from the game. Honestly I wouldn't care if they changed moris so that they could only be used after second hook. For key I'm not sure what to do as I don't really find myself playing with/ against them often enough. I would say add a short 5ish second timer to opening the hatch, and notify the killer when the hatch opening starts.

Less: Ghostface, Spirit, and Trapper
More: Myers, Demogorgon, and Oni

@anarchy753 I think that could entirely be the case, however there are three things that lead me to thinking these are the next survivor and killer. The first is that the section is called revelations, so it makes sense to reveal aspects of the next chapter through it. The second thing is that it is the most difficult section of the tome to get, so it makes sense that it is the most important part, why waste it on someone you will never meet. Third, the three entries of the revelation section specifically detail one killer and one survivor, so if they were going for world building they could have added more survivors and killers.

@Peanits sorry, but you're wrong, dying light can get up to a maximum of 9 stacks, 3 survivors x 3 Hooks is a total of 9 stacks x 3% = 27%. You cannot get 11 stacks, because obsession doesn't count.
Keep in mind that the obsession can switch. If a survivor who has been 2 hooked becomes the obsession you can gain 3 more stacks from the survivor who was the old obsession. That's how you get 11 stacks.
-
Every chapter has costed exactly what this formula predicted even when they had to deal likenesses, splitting revenue with licence holders, and even when they had Ash voiced by an actual person. Why should this chapter be any different?
-
I think this is a great idea. My only thought is that solos still won’t know when another player cleanses the last totem. I would maybe add an audio que or something that plays when the last totem is cleansed, so all the players know they’ve all been cleansed.
-
@MandyTalk It was a one off and has never happened again.
-
It's not about killing me. If he picked me up and hooked I wouldn't have cared, I would just have moved on to the next game. It's about the fact that he should have picked me up and killed me, but chose instead to force me to remain in the game for four minutes unable to do anything while he gloated above me. Killers should have the power to kill survivors, that isn't what this thread is about. What this thread is about is that they shouldn't have the power to ruin the fun of survivors by leaving them on the ground and put the survivor in a position where they want the killer to kill them and be done with it.

I've played 2 games as legion in the PTB already, and I find them more fun to play than they were before.
-
My first game on the temple of purgation a Nea let me down her in a spot where she knew I couldn't pick her up. Afterward in the post game chat she acted like she just had to sit there and force me to watch her bleed out because I was a camping/ tunneling, which I wasn't doing. She also resorted to calling me colorful words in the post game chat. In other words, no I am not liking the new update.
-
I just played the ptb. It maxes out at 5 tokens so it grants a 15% maximum bonus to action speed.

My guess is that it is an either or situation. You can either use the fountain to cure your disease, or use it to heal your injured state. This would make it so that you can't be cured and healed from the same fountain. It would also allow you to f over your team mates by healing an injury in a fountain, and therefore prevent the survivors who really need it, the infected ones, from curing their diseased status.
