  • Yeah unlimited range is way too much. If you turn your DPI down to compensate then when you’re just walking around the map normally you can barely turn at all, but if you leave it up so you can actually look around when playing the game then you flick out of control. I honestly preferred the nerfed version from last patch compared to this version because at least it was mostly consistent. Why are the only options super limited turning or insane unlimited turning???

  • It is a circle. If the killer doesn’t bring meta perks, the survivors still will and they’ll steamroll the killer and teabag at the exit. So the killer brings meta perks, which incentivizes survivors to bring meta perks, ad infinitum.

  • You’re wasting your own time more than the killer’s.

You have to do the challenges in the event tome and then use the event trinckets earned to buy them in the collection screen.

So y’all just made it way more annoying this year for no reasons. Alright nevermind I’m not participating then.

  • I mained Pig when I first started playing killer because she was new and easy enough to learn/play on controller.

Switched to Spirit because again she was mechanically easy enough to play on controller plus she was strong and fun and cool and her design is so sick.

Now I don’t really main anyone but I’ve been focusing more on learning Oni since I started trying to use M&KB more. I’m still awkward with M&KB so I’m not great at Oni but he’s fun and satisfying to play when things go right.

  • It is insane and honestly unacceptable that they haven’t kill switched Potential Energy and Garden of Joy already.

There is no amount of reading between the lines needed… you just need to find the premise the devs outline and then the intention. The premise is this one:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BDJ1PFS14LHH/grafik.png

This includes all instances of camping where the killer is "nearby". Whatever exactly "nearby" means. - But fret not, we don't just have the premise - we also have the explicitly stated intention:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/8COGQ1KFBCMW/grafik.png

Again, we don't know what exactly "egregious" or "too close" in this context means - but given how the same sentence (!) continues, we don't need to, since the intended outcome is stated clearly: survivors - remember the premise: survivors that are not the most coordinated of teams - are supposed to have an actual chance to rescue a fellow survivor. - Which is simply not the case with the mechanic as it is in place. It doesn't matter for a Bubba or a Billy or a Huntress - or any other killer who really makes it their mission to camp out that hook - if they are 1m away from the hook or 10m.

That being said: I don't think it's possible to design a mechanic that achieves what they intend it to achieve without either being very abusable by survs or fundamentally redesigning how hooking/unhooking works.

Which is why I say they should just've called it "anti BM on hook"-mechanic, boot the premise and the intention and that's that.

Edit: tbh, what bugs me the most about this is not how the mechanic turned out - but how bhvr really has a knack for messing up their communication and expectation management. It happens so often that via the way the word things or the statements they make and without giving any actual details/say what exactly they mean/how exactly they define things, there's too much room for interpretation - interpretations that are not reigned in, even if they get widely popular. This makes it effectively impossible to avoid disappointing, and eventually alienating at least a chunk of the playerbase. And it is so avoidable by just thinking a lil bit longer about what you want to say. #rant end. Sorry.

Anyway, that being said: if in doubt agree to disagree. Didn't really intend to derail the topic and make it about rhetoric and semantics.

It’s not vague, the mechanic has a precise measurement of distance.

If proxy camping is effectively 100% the same as face camping then that's an issue. A bubba can easily 'face' camp at a distance.

What should they do, teleport the killer across the map after they hook someone? Eventually you all need to accept that some things you find unfun are just part of the game.

  • This is the weirdest post.

  • I disagree with KayTwoAyy (idk why the quote didn’t work?), if I click the shop while I am on a certain character, it is because I want to see that character’s cosmetics. Do not change this.

  • Love it. I love the collections page, I love that we are going to get different bundles offered and charms for sale, I love that I can actually preview different cosmetics together, it’s all great. Now I just wish you’d bring ALL the previous Rift skins to the store including outfits that were simple recolors of other store cosmetics.

  • Removing hug tech was a terrible decision.

  • It is way better from a killer perspective but we need more hooks along the street, there are barely any.

I haven’t played on it as survivor yet but sounds like it’s not fun. 😂

I will say the order version was NOT fine and definitely did need a nerf because all those houses were way too strong but now it has maybe gone the other way. This does not mean you should revert it back completely though! Just fix this version.

Some solutions that were previously offered in different threads were (in summary)

    A) Provide a repair speed debuff for each living survivor that is replaced by a repair speed buff for every dead survivor. Tweak the numbers so that the best way (or at least equal to tunneling way) to get a 4K is to get as many survivors on death hook as possible and then start killing. Also, this slows down the early game so that two or three gens aren't lost in the first two minutes and also makes it so that it's not an automatic win for the Killer if a survivor is lost while there are more than 2 gens left up.; or

    B) Have the survivors share hook states so nobody dies until there have been 9 hooks. This keeps the tunneled survivor in the game for longer and may give more motivation to the player's teammates to help save them; or

    C) Base MMR off of hooks where 0 to 4 hooks means MMR goes down, 5 to 8 hooks means it stays the same, and 9 to 12 hooks is an MMR increase. Kills only is really simplistic and adds to the desire to tunnel so people can feel they're higher MMR. If MMR were also visible it would add to psychological pressure to spread hooks as many people would want to brag about their MMR and they couldn't if it went down because they tunneled. As well, content creators couldn't be 'I'm top MMR!' unless they could show it. I do think that's why there were more hooks spread around in the Emblem days as you needed multiple hooks to increase, matches were lopsided more often (the con being they were less fair, the pro being off meta builds and tactics were more viable), and people could show they were Rank One.

There are potential solutions out there. I think BHVR should test something to see if it would work as it is a major issue for player enjoyment.

B is god awful. A sounds way better.

  • I am having the same issue. The game unbound my keybinds and now I can’t rebind the key for “activate event ability.” I don’t want to mess with any others in case they can’t be rebound either. This is on Steam.

  • It made zero sense for it to make you full health off hook because you’re in the dying state on hook. It should have never worked that way to begin with. They do need to buff solo queue but not by making crappy perks. We need like basekit Bond and/or Kindred and a way to know our teammates’ loadouts.

  • Same on Steam. I can click the amount of Auric cells I want to buy but when I get to the checkout page and click “add funds” to add funds to my Steam wallet it brings up a window looking to open an HTM file for some reason.

edit: It’s sort of working now for some reason? The add funds button worked but now it’s stuck on the check out.

  • I want to see a PTB with Bond/Kindred basekit and see survival rates between SWFs and solos on live vs. SWFs and solos on PTB. If the SWF survival is about the same on both but solo survival goes up, then they could add that to the live game and buff killers if needed.

Also I think they should make icons for perks show up next to a survivor portrait when they are relevant. For example, if a teammate is downed and has Unbreakable, show an Unbreakable icon. When someone is on the hook and another teammate has Deliverance, show the Deliverance icon next to them so the other survivors don’t go for the save, and if someone has Deli active on the hook, show the Deli icon so teammates don’t waste time going for the save. Etc. This is info SWFs have but solos do not.

Bring solo up to SWF level, then buff killers if the kill rates fall too low.

They're struggling to bring the normal coloured cosmetics to the store.

I don't believe we're going to see the deep rift outfits in the store anytime soon.

Idk why my comment got deleted but I am not talking about deep rift, I’m talking recolors of existing in store cosmetics like the pink and white version of Nurse’s Lady Lunatic set. And I don’t think they’re struggling to add cosmetics to the store but apparently saying so is against the rules or something.

Struggling? They put them in the store 1 year after the Rift, which is why the Ghost Face cosmetic just got added. That’s not a struggle, that’s a schedule. And they seem very keen on adding new cosmetics all the time. The recolors already exist, adding them to the store should not be an issue.

Also I’m not talking about deep rift, I’m talking about recolors of cosmetics that are in the store. For example, the pink and white version of Nurse’s Lady Lunatic cosmetics, or the version of Spirit’s Awakened Origin cosmetic that has black hair instead of white.

Because no matter how much of a crutch Made for This is, it doesn't stand against a player with sufficient gamesense. Don't get me wrong, the endurance should be transplanted onto a different perk, but the speed isn't as uncounterable as people make it out to be.

I didn't realize I still left my Anniversary meme build on Nemmy for the daily, and with Deadlock as my sole slowdown, I could still take on 3 MfTs. (No early kills either, seeing the lowest BP Survivor getting 17k.)

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/F7XI3R85FLIC/madeforthisaintjackvsnemmy.png

It’s not about being uncounterable, it’s about messing with our understanding of how this game functions. When a survivor is a certain distance away, I would always get a hit, except now I don’t if they are running MFT so now I swing and miss when I should have gotten a down. You can’t have 7 years of the game working one way and then suddenly add a perk that completely throws our muscle memory in the trash. They need to make it a regular exhaustion perk.

It wastes more of your time by not getting literally any reward for a chase.

When they are on the ground bleeding out and someone has to come pick them up, you ARE getting value. Two survivors not working on gens IS value in and of itself.

  • @BougieBlackChick said:

Yeah I switched to killer today to finish getting masks since I kept getting tunneled and camped out at 4-5 gens all day yesterday.

When I switched to killer I brought tiramisu and tried to farm cuz I wanted us ll to rack up some BP and let them get their masks. Each time, they all ran from me scared so I just got my invitation and waited for match to end to get my masks .

On survivor side, I stopped bringing the BP offerings because I was tired of getting tunneled out with 5-8K BP while the killer was racking up 40K and walking out of each match with 100-200K BP.

I really wish the devs would stop making these events a cakewalk for killer to get the cosmetics (all they have to do is grab an invitation) while making them so difficult for survivors (having to survive until gates are powered) when they know tunneling and camping is the easiest and favorite tactic used by killers in their game.

Killer is the power role. They have the ability to deny survivors the cosmetics but survivors can’t deny them the cosmetics ever. That’s super unbalanced. Wh

Idk why survivors have to survive to get the masks, like as long as they get the invitation and don't DC from the match, that should be good enough. That's basically what it is for killers so why do survivors have an extra step? I can only guess it is to prevent DCing but still, there's got to be some way around that.

  • I have the opposite. I'm playing killer and every survivor team is coming in with 4 toolboxes and just rushes gens when we have 3-5 BP offerings. I am trying not to kill anyone but I still want points. If the game is only 3 minutes long I don't have time to even get any hooks. This community is so strange.

I on the opposite disagree, hope+made for this only takes effect on endgame and tbf the killer already has failed miserably at that point, so the survivors having that advantage for what little is left of the match is a non issue for me, also regarding m1 killers against that combo, if you play them you already accepted the loss at the character selection screen so perks being specially effective against them is just another thursday.

You guys must really love versing nothing but Nurse and Blight then to have opinions like this. 😂

  • You say this as if basically every good killer and killer perk hasn’t also been nerfed??? I don’t even necessarily mind the 3% speed boost but it also adds Endurance AND it stacks with other Haste perks which is insane and should absolutely not be the case. In no world should survivors move at 110% speed.

  • Because when it was big it was the worst map ever introduced into the game. Now it’s fairly balanced. It may be small, idk, but all the walls and hallways add a lot of travel time which is why it can’t be bigger.

  • The only issue with Ormond is that scratch marks are nearly invisible on that map and I wish the devs would fix that. All the Badham maps are awful though.

  • Come on man, he’s one of the weaker killers. Let him have SOME times when he is actually strong. You can’t just ask them to nerf every killer so they never have an advantage.
