"Ineffective basekit BT"
You know you could still run regular BT, it even got a buff in this patch.
-
How is tunneling and camping stronger now? DS sucks but OTR replaces it, everyone gets BT for free and a speed boost to boot.
I'm not saying that there ISN'T a problem with tunneling and camping, but I don't see how it's gotten worse.
-
I can't imagine why they would release this patch before buffing solo queue survivors, since when they do, they'll need to do another big balance pass all over again. Essentially everything they added in this 6.1 update will become obsolete.

A sad person can be sad for a great variety of complex reasons.
Leaving the game takes one click. If it is no longer fun for you, then it is not worth staying.
Not that I'm comparing playing a video game to alcoholism, but, do you think it's as easy for an alcoholic to stop drinking as to "just put down the bottle?" It only takes one simple hand movement. My point is that saying it's "just one click" is really ignorant.
-
Devs won't do anything until 2025, just like how they left Clown in an awful state for years - and then when they buff her it still won't be enough, just like the "rework" to Clown didn't do much for him.
My advice, just give up on Sadako. Devs won't fix it, never have, never will.

If you are not enjoying the game, just leave. It is not hard.
DBD was no longer the same game I fell in love with back in 2018, so I left. Only played it today because I wanted to see what the commotion was about.
Trust me, if you are not having fun...leave.
I don't think you understand my man, saying "just stop playing" is like telling a sad person "just don't be sad bro." I wish it were just as easy as "just stop playing."

If Survivors have two experiences ...
"Solo Q Nightmare Mode"Solo Queue-
"Eat Pizza With Your Friends on Comms"SWF+VoiceComms
And we know both have different balance, and that SWF+VoiceComms provides advantages, and there is no intention to change that, at the very least I think it would be fair to make it so that Killers can also choose the experience they want, and not having to play against a bully 4SWF squad that swaps to flashlights last second in the lobby.
Now they might come with another diversion such as "that was referring to perks". Well, the point still stands. There are two experiences one gives you free perks the other one denies you the advantage others gain. Either way, the Killer always loses.
It comes across as saying "We know SWF is unfair, but you have to deal with it, sorry."
It does not come across, it´s EXACTLY what it means. Which was always known anyway, people kept pretending otherwise just like the "devs say it´s not cheating" - whatever, use another word or mechanism to sugar coat it. If we want to tolerate it, allow for Killers to know who are they playing against - even if as a kind gesture. Still unfair though.
Everyone says they don´t use the comms to get advantage, fine, then allow Killers to opt-in and listen to that chit-chat. However, not possible cause not built-in mechanism. Also, sometimes it would be useless as not everyone speaks English but still... you could "opt-in" or not.
Devs sadly will never add a true solo-queue - the game has a decent playerbase but probably not enough to support two queues. Devs could AT LEAST give killers double BP after a 3 or 4 man SWF - but I guess that's too difficult to implement. Oh well.

I don't think so.
Most likely both-siders, as most Forum members are.
Impossible to say who plays what, and everyone has vastly differing experiences depending on their region, skill bracket, or even just time of day. There's next to no balance in this game - MMR is a joke even in a vanilla lobby, but it doesn't take SWF or items or addons or offerings into consideration and every game is just wildly in one side's favor or the other. That's the way it's been for 6 years and it doesn't seem like it'll change.
I wish BHVR would just permaban me in-game so I would never again be tempted to play this miserable game.

Hmmm, that is an unusual point.
Very few people have deemed killers "weak" after this update.
The "numerous people" who feel killers are strong, wouldn't happen to be survivor mains, would they?
-
Feels very strange that the only decent regression perks - Call of Brine, Eruption, and Pain Res - are all locked on very recent killers, two of which are licensed and not available with shards. Feels even worse that two out of the three require you to physically go and kick the gen, something most killers don't have the time for.
Even if Overcharge hadn't been nerfed on the PTR, it too would've been a kick perk. Pain Res still hits for the same amount but it's hard to say if it's still worth it (and that's if you even have the perk in the first place).
Hard to say but after five matches as killer I'm feeling very weak. The extra 10 seconds on generators does not feel worth losing Ruin and Pop.

nobody mentioned balanced, this discussion is not about balance. And no the game is not balanced about voice communication and it never can be - or should be. Perks such as kindred exist because not all players want to play in a SWF, there's the solo experience there as well which has been discussed in this thread.
Hi, I'm sorry, I'm a little confused. In the first post I quoted, you said that you expect SWF's to be communicating and to expect it as part of the game, but in this post, you're saying that SWF's communicating is not balanced and never can be - which seems contradictory. It seems like it's a part of the game that's supposed to be there, but it's also unbalanced and not fair. Why is an intentional game mechanic then intentionally unfair? It comes across as saying "We know SWF is unfair, but you have to deal with it, sorry."
I'm fully, 100% supportive of bringing up solo-survivors to the level of SWF's and then balancing Killers around EVERYONE having the same level of information. But it's been 6 years this has been a problem and half a year since that player survey went out judging people's interests in giving free info to solo survivors. I'm skeptical this will happen until ~2024 and I guess Killers are just supposed to "deal with it" until then.

SWF is not cheating
SWF using Discord is not cheating
SWF was always intended to be added to the game, the delay in adding it was purely down to not having the time to make KYF and SWF, so KYF was prioritised.
Survivors communicating is not cheating...just because voice communication is not in the game does not make using discord cheating. We fully expect players to play together and be chatting on some form of voice communication at the same time.
The game rules are clear, please do not call something cheating when it clearly isn't. This is something that's decided by ourselves.
I'm sorry but I just don't believe this. Ignoring that there's no in game voice or even no in game text chat, why are there at least a half-dozen perks that all become unnecessary when in Discord?
Kindred for example, is given to SWFs for free, and you could argue other info perks like Alert, Bond, and Empathy are as well.
If you expect survivors to all be on comms, why do perks like Kindred exist? Shouldn't they be removed, or given to survivors for free?
If you would argue that survivors getting Kindred, Alert, and Empathy for free, getting essentially seven perk slots, was overpowered, doesn't that by definiton also imply being on comms is overpowered?
As long as BHVR keeps adding new info perks, that you don't need if you're on comms, I won't believe that the developers intend for the game to be balanced around comms.

Remove Nurse first, a killer who has literally no counter EXCEPT dead hard. I've lost track of the amount of matches I get versus a competent Nurse and the only reason I don't get slapped with a blink is Dead Hard, and that's only if I time it right so it's not even assured.
It's hilarious that you would suggest removing a key perk that provides the only tool in the entire game to counter a killer with no other counter play and that's once every sixty seconds at best but let's be honest you're never going to escape a chase vs a competent nurse.
Just lazy to make suggestions like this with no key arguing points, how about Blights with add ons that make any sort of movement irrelevant? Oh what's that? Another killer with only one chance at avoiding an M1? Damn better remove that one off so we can just go down and down over and over again against over tuned killers with one single form of counter play from ONE SINGLE PERK.
If you wanted to be taken seriously you'd suggest how certain notorious killers that are widely known to have no counter play could be reworked themselves so that a perk like dead hard wouldn't be the only tool in the game to deal with them.
I mean I've said twice in this thread that you should just get Dead Hard as a free fifth perk against Nurse, Blight, or Hag. I also think it's kind of implied that if you remove Dead Hard you'd have to fix Nurse and Blight. But Nurse has been a problem for 4 or 5 years, they never figured out how to fix her and I doubt they'll ever really try.

There is no such thing as removing the perk now that it is is the game. Dead Hard is here, and to be completely honest it will probably always have some sort of ability like it does now. I can see reworks for sure, the easiest being removing the invincibility frames or the distance so you don't have both.
Honestly, make it an item, like an adrenaline shot. An item that on use just Dead Hard's you (assuming you're injured). It would provide a lot of counterplay options as killers could run Franklin's, Overwhelming Presence, etc, and know to run them if they see the item in the lobby. Meanwhile survivors could play around with other exhaustion perks, because why the hell not, let the adrenaline shot stack with Sprint Burst. It also limits how many times a killer can be dead-harded in a match to the item's remaining charges.

if we can also remove nurse and blight (the 2 Tier S killers in the game) from the game im all in, for the meantime those killers are lacking realistic counterplay specailly nurse and blight with certain addons so no.
Survivors should get Dead Hard as a free fifth perk against Nurse and Blight, honestly, as a killer main. But against poor sacks like Myers and Pig it just feels brutal.

@tea said:
Remove NOED first. See? I can have controversial opinions too.
Happily, no killer who is even high enough rank to go against survivors that have Dead Hard still uses (or at least, needs) NOED.
Tell you what, I'll throw in a freebie: Survivors get Dead Hard as a free fifth perk if playing against a Blight, Nurse, Hag, or Spirit. Sound fair?

@ChurchofPig said:
Well the 6th Anniversary patch is already out. Also, why do people keep thinking the developers are actually going to remove a perk? They won't. The best you can hope for is a complete rework of the perk (if a nerf isn't what you're looking for).
Not yet, I'm talking about the patch where they said they were going to rebalance "over 40 perks."
@Superyoshiegg said:
There's been countless updates tweaking number of and distance between pallets over the years.
Yes. Tweaks *over the years*.
It's almost like Dead Hard is not a new addition, and has been around for five years, giving the developers plenty of time to adjust the map design accordingly.
I mean, it took them 6 years to give Trapper a second trap, and like 3 or so years to kneecap Object of Obsession. Is it so hard to believe they'd drag their heels on perk balances or not design things around them?
-
I'm just upset that they're lying about it. "Removed due to complications" - if they lost the rights, couldn't they just be honest with us?
-
@Ace_Ventura said:
It was literally done to justify perk tiers. There's no other fathomable reason.
I'd have been fine with it if they had just given us warning.
Given BHVR's latest priorities you'd need a crystal ball to predict when they'd change it. It could've been this patch, it could've been a year from now. Who knows.
-
@Withered8 said:
Well that was a you problem if you didn't already have discordance 3, and the devs have said that they would change it a long time ago. Also srsly you hardly need any bp to get 2 levels of a perk is this really what ur complaining about.
how many killer perks do you have unlocked? I'm looking at probably a million BP at least to find it.

I know it's situational, but because almost no one run it survivors most of the time don't expect it coming. Especially on lower ranks. I guess OP is a beginner, so this perk might help.
What makes you say that? The most toxic survivors are at red ranks, where I'm at. Thanks for your rude assumptions, though.

@kaeru said:
Another satisfying perk that benefit from teabagers is Blood Warden. It's a bit situational but if you often get into situation when everyone is alive at the end of the match it might help.
Blood Warden doesn't work because of the the ability to 99% the gates. It's a dead perk 80% of games, sadly. Devs, in their infinite wisdom, tried out having the gates regress but decided it was "unfun." I guess negating every endgame perk isn't unfun enough for them, though.

It is bad and toxic behavior. Playing killer is huge stress. If you play bad, survivors will let you know. If you play not in a certain way (No tunneling, camping, whatever), survivors will let you know. If you play very good, survivors will (most of the time) say nothing. The match stay's and falls with what you do and how you perform and every mistake can cost you. The game is 4 vs.1 and survivors shouldn't get toxic with teabagging just because the killer has missed a hit.
At the same time to the killers address: When a survivor provokes you with teabagging or flashlight clicking - Don't fall for it. There is a good chance this guy is just a cocky idiot, but it is just as likely that he is well prepared to loop you for 5 gens. Ignore these people. They want to "protect" weaker teammates. Go and find them, down them and wait get a nice hit on that idiot who is waiting behind the rock to flashlight you. Now you did exactly what they didn't wanted you to do. You have applied pressure on them.
As a killer: Your Game, your arena, your rules.
The problem is when they're at the exit gates and doing it. "Yes, you won. Please leave. Please stop bullying me and just end the game."

As much as you hate to see it, it’s never gonna stop. If you take it personal that’s on you ya know? Personally I don’t take offense as I’ve done it before.
Why'd you do it though? Why do you feel the need to be so rude?
-
If you beat the killer, don't sit at the exit games and teabag. Please just leave. Please let me actually enjoy the free time I spend wasting it on this game.

What makes you say that consoles have a hard time forming parties? Most the console players I've gone against are obvious SWF parties.
I'm pretty sure you have to be friends with someone on PS4 to party with them right? It's a lot harder than just jumping into a DBD discord with a few other people.
