  • Yep, same. Steam Deck.

Can confirm the other two work just fine. Just no Snappy Caskey

  • I mean, this is what I expected of his Mori ... https://youtu.be/MA3i7BTROGE?t=11

And this would happen maybe 10-20 sec after ... https://youtu.be/Z8i48Fk5bn4?t=243

Wouldn't be all that bad, and if Nemesis got that many survivors then it just adds to the terror, no? It'd give something of an incentive to mori for giggles/strategy/cool points.

I mean if you get hit by frenzy (which happens like 90% of the time with legion anyways) it doesn't really matter if it applies sloppy or not into the mix, the initial down afterwards is why it becomes annoying. But you most likely already know that, I'm just clarifying for no reason.

The point is that I see what you mean, why would anyone want to face strong or anti-healing Killers with a perk that adds even more anti-healing into the mix? Annoying, yes. OP? No, but you can argue it's unfair with the right circumstances.

Yeah, so long as Plague can No Mither survivors as well force huge noises and residue detection with no counter other than giving her a nuke ... for just tapping the survivor cuz running/genning progresses it ... Legion with sloppy on everything would be tame.

    Getting into it

Before anyone says it, yes I know there are much worse perks and perk combinations out there then just Sloppy Butcher. But I wanted to make a post today asking the community of the forums what they genuinely think about the perk itself.

I personally believe the perk is unfair and originally this post reflected that statement. But I thought I would transform it into a question rather than stating the perk is unfair outright.

My reasoning for why I believe it's unfair

For one, it isn't like an average slow-down perk where it actively goes against generator progress. Instead it actively puts a negative toll on healing progress instead.

Now you might ask "Well survivors have Botany Knowledge, Desperate Measures, Med-Kits, etc. Why would it be unfair to slow down healing progress as THE KILLER? Wouldn't it be more unfair that survivors have the ability to increase this progress?" and to that I say is a good point.

Yes, it doesn't make sense to claim a perk is unfair if survivors have MORE perks and items that can negate this. But allow me to give you some insight into how the mangled status effect works as a whole.

The Mangled status effect gives a 20% healing penalty to any survivor that's affected by it. This doesn't mean that their healing speed on others is penalized by this, but rather the speed in which others can heal them is penalized.

Of course Botany Knowledge can negate this since it gives a 33% healing bonus, which is 13% higher than the mangled status effects 20%. But not every survivor is going to run Botany knowledge with a med-kit are they?

Now we can argue semantics until the sun dies out since you can argue pop goes the weasel is negated by any tool-box. But my reasoning for why I personally believe its unfair really just boils down to what the perk can do with OTHER perks, not just the perk itself. Because the perk is annoying by itself, but aided by others really causes issues.

It's like how people hate Ruin and Undying. Undying by itself is fairly decent and so is Ruin. But together? Especially on a Killer with map mobility like Blight or Spirit? Now that adds a bit of an issue.

Sloppy butchers combination potential with other perks

So we've established that the perk itself isn't really the primary issue, its the combination potential itself that I believe is the issue. Sloppy Butcher by itself can be argued as more annoying than OP, but with other perks like Pop, Nurse's Calling, Ruin, and the addition of a Killer with mobility or damage potential? Now that's what I call a boring match.

Even if it's not Blight or Spirit, it's still not fun to see the perk on any Killer that usually runs meta builds. Why would I want to be chased by The Legion who already adds healing penalties when Frenzy is put into the mix?

It really just boils down to what each person perceives as unfair. Which really is just subjective at this point. That's primarily why I decided to present this as a question, rather then stating it as a fact.

    What do you think?

Is Sloppy Butcher unfair by itself? Is it unfair with other perks? Or is it not unfair at all? I want to treat this like the Dead Hard discussion I made before. The perk itself LIKE Sloppy is annoying, but the primary question is asking if it's just that.

Do you believe it's OP? Or is its power just derived from other perks? You can even argue my reasoning above as to why I believe it's unfair, that's fine to.

"Even if it's not Blight or Spirit, it's still not fun to see the perk on any Killer that usually runs meta builds. Why would I want to be chased by The Legion who already adds healing penalties when Frenzy is put into the mix?"

I hear Legion's Frenzy doesn't apply Sloppy Butcher, and I don't mean for the Deep Wound either. Flat out disabled with Frenzy. Is this true? I tried to test it myself and the blood did seem normal compared with the normal hit I left on another of them.

  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mz296Izw-S8 Surprised no one posted this. There are no rules against these strategies, but there are discouragements. If anything was "cheating" in my mind, it'd be SWF Voice Chat vs The Pig.

Face Camp and killer's Chase value drops and survivors can gen rush with ease, so killer gets only one 2 hits and a kill for their score.

Tunnel and Borrowed Time and/or survivors can block/take hits.

Survivors that know the map make me eat pallets so my rush resets cuz otherwise the loop won't end around the pallets.

What I'm talking about for the 2nd request/suggest ... Don't want either, but the game has now forced me to pick if I want perks again. This should not be the case. I just want this guy to kill off all totems for a challenge and then tose em back in the closet unless I need great skill checks. However, cuz I didn't pick tenacity, I had one perk robbed from me per 5 blood webs only to find ... this.

  • I'd also request/suggest if we skip the orange unlock in the blood pool, the game should ask us "do you want this skipped unlock to keep showing up?". Don't want it, and I'd like for it to not take up space for a chance at perks I do want.

I'd love to see more humanoid monsters as killers, such as the xenomorph. At the same time, I do like the fact we've had a slew of killers recently who have their faces shown. It's the variety which makes the game interesting. I'd like a couple more older individuals for survivor, and a couple more humanoid monsters, but I'm certainly happy with the variety.

Yeah, I'd like Xenomorph and Ripley, clone or original, doesn't matter. That or a werewolf, something that just isn't a human, an actual monster.

  • @Phasmamain said:

It’s unlikely since every killer kinda needs a humanoid appearance even if they are a bit monsterous

And that is fine, it's why I said something like the critter from Aliens, chest bursting, face hugger kind. I just seek an actual monster, the non-human kind. So that Alien Ripley fought, or a werewolf, stuff like that.

    //everyone else...

Also, common, keep the new guy to a new guy thread? I wanna talk monsters here...

  • That you can still catch the survivor if they got the Hatch while you're close enough and they're wounded. I gave up so many cuz I thought "well, even if I hit them- they're on the Hatch and I'll still be doing an animation.... GG".
