One thing that works quite often for me is to progress the door until it's like 1% away from getting the first light, wait for the killer to come check and then try to open the gate. It can really make the difference if the gates spawn in places where it's barely possible to actually open one.
If the doors are too close or on the same wall with too few LOS blockers that's just unlucky. The whole EGC system doesn't concern itself with helping one side or another, its purpose is to ensure the game ends by putting a hard cap on match duration. Sometimes you get impossible gates, sometimes you get gates that are a pure 50/50 for the killer.
The method you describe, I started calling the "gate tech" amongst my friends and now we all say it. 😂🤷🏻♂️

I was just about to post this. I played one game and thought "okay the auras are clearly just bugged" but they were the same in the second game which led to me finding the patch notes and noticing the aura change. I haven't seen any chest, totem, door, or generator aura, but the survivor and killer auras are poor, to put it politely. They're far too slender, too dark and generally just really difficult to actually see. They remind me of Echoes from Mirror's Edge: Catalyst if any of you have played that game. #revertauras

So, I did it.
Results were:
Soul guard takes priority. If there is a hex totem, soul guard is the perk used. As soon as the totem is destroyed, soul guard still works with unbreakable for the endurance status effect, and unbreakable will activate as usual, with it's one time pick up thing.
I just got back from testing this in KYF and I somehow got the complete opposite result. I got up while cursed (I made sure I was 100% cursed), then removed my curse and COULDN'T use unbreakable.

There are challenges requiring you to play Kate and use Boil Over that unlock more Dwight lore.
There are other ways to progress to the Dwight challenge. You don't have to do the Kate challenge.
-
Which challenges are the wall for you exactly? Excluding the Kate challenge you can still do the Dwight challenge.

I had a Wraith do this on Sanctum of Wrath once. I found him AFK cloaked in a corner. I heard him, so I knew where to shine my flashlight and I forced him out of cloak and made him chase me. 😂💯

This happened to me in the same spot, on a hill in Red Forest on Xbox. I could make moving animations but couldn't move until my crows brought the killer to me and I got downed and picked up.
-
The sounds always existed but the volumes have been significantly increased despite not being detailed in the patch notes. I do agree it's a nice change, though.

Is being unable to disable a trap from a high vantage such a bad design flaw that it needs to be complained about in general instead of being reported as a bug or suggestion?
The degree of importance between the two situations are greatly different.
Also, yes the same can be said for all the situations you've mentioned but they impact matches to a much greater degree than the situation mentioned in this thread and warranted the cries for change.
This is a very simple situation that has a very simple solution.
It's your and the OP's choice to ignore this fact.
I'm done, enjoy replying to your hearts content.
As I said in a previous comment, I had a facepalm moment about the crouching, so I'm not ignoring anything as I had previously acknowledged and accepted an answer.
I also don't consider this to be a bug, hence: general.

If it can't be destroyed at a distance crouching becomes necessary.
Adapt.
This is such a facepalm moment. I think I was so intent on destroying the trap that I momentarily forgot I could crouch through it. My question still remains though.

ure forgetting "Left Behind" which lets u see the hatch. survivors are given second chance after second chance after second chance.
Are you suggesting Left Behind is a good perk?

these are WILDLY different things, you cant compare those at all.
Okay but instead of just saying that can you explain why?
-
I'm not going to post my own purely because I don't feel like spending an hour or so doing it properly, but I will say there are some unexpected but interesting placements on the OP’s list. (We'll Make It, Any Means Necessary etc. but several more)
-
I thought it was bugged too. 😭

Yeah, the exaggeration seems strong in this one. I tend to cleanse one at the start near me and still find another before I’ve even used inner strength.
With how many games NOED pops, and how many totems I see on my way to the gate it’s not likely OP is the one person who keeps getting teammates cleansing totems
It's not much of an exaggeration. I did say "about three", and I can still count the number of occasions on one hand. The number of times I've found already broken totems, though.. would need an abacus to count. Also, your post contributed nothing of value to the discussion but thanks for your two cents, I guess.
-
That's exactly it! Thank you so much 😂
-
I'm not @ing anyone in particular but NOED isn't a "punishment" for not doing totems, simply because totems are an optional objective and not a mandatory one.
-
Here's some food for thought: what if you could see the killer, but as a trade-off you couldn't change your load-out once you're in the lobby? That way there is no deliberate countering.

That's only what people who don't play survivor would say.
My thoughts exactly. A single beastly creature with 16 perks is vastly different from four small creatures each with 4 perks. Also, consider how many of those would be duplicates.

All I'm going to say is I had no idea any killer could throw a survivor.
Trunchbull next killer confirmed.
