Yeah but then there's holding W.

    What does this even mean

    Time, I'd say.

Generally speaking, DBD is not made for fast-paced trials. Players, myself included, prefer to have enough time to fully enjoy the match.

As "genrushing" defeats the whole point of this. Honestly one of the reasons why I still think the original Hex: Ruin was one of the best perks in the game's history: because it slowed the game down… just a little bit.

"DBD is not made for fast-paced trials" The game itself is LITERALLY a time-trial. The longer the game goes on, the higher chance a killer has of winning. Just because you want more time in each match to do stuff doesn't mean that the game isn't made for fast-paced trials. Playing quick and efficiently is the best way for survivors and killers both to win. Lots of people play this game to win, because they enjoy winning. Don't mix your preferred playstyle with "the game is not made for being fast-paced"

It's literally the main/only objective to do in the game for survivors next to unhooking and totems. Having an issue with survivors Gen rushing is like telling them not to play the game. Yes, it sucks to watch 3 gens pop in a singular chase that took you longer than you would have liked to finish, but…..it's….the point of the game….I really don't understand why people get so bitter about it.

This is a legit question. No bitterness, just intrigued.

Survivors and Killers both make some arbitrary rules towards one another and what can constitute as "Toxic behavior". Just curious why this is even one of them.

To sum up the replies, you shouldn't genrush because killers don't have fun when you do it. 🤷

Yeah but I've lost tons of games that were very winnable because some idiot decided that wanted to not play the game after readying up and sitting through the queue rather than before.

There's plenty of variety, there's over 40 killers and hundreds of different perks. Going against players that are consistently better than you is not a "lack of variety." If I had to choose between not being able to occasionally skip out on a super sweaty game, or have anyone be able to go next whenever they want to avoid the DC penalty, I'd take the former. Things happen, but as a general rule of them, don't press the ready up button if you're not willing or ready to play.

I can guarantee you that the vast majority of "go-next" scenarios don't happen because your teammate is an "idiot" who doesn't want to play the game. If that's your first thought, of course you're not going to have any sort of empathy towards people who hate losing, and are sick of tunneling and slugging and camping. Sitting on a hook for 50% of the game is not fun. Being left in the dying state for literal minutes of playtime because teammates can't loop well or would rather make gen progress or run around isn't fun. 2 of your teammates dying in the first 6 minutes of a game because they don't know how to play isn't fun.

I'm genuinely curious what fun you gleam from being hooked, and sitting on a gen, and watching your teammates run around. Killers have so much variety in their gameplay, while survivors don't. This game already has a high amount of repitition, a MUCH higher skill floor, and a signficant amount of stagnant gameplay for survivors. And if math is mathing, 75% of the playerbase, at any given time, is required to play survivor for this game to function whatsoever. So how are we blaming a TINY fraction of the majority of the active playerbase for recognizing that a game that they're in is already down the drain, or that they're not having fun on an awful map (like midwich, RPD, Nostromo, Forgotten Ruins, Haddonfield, etc.) against an annoying killer (not even going to give examples because killer players insist ALWAYS that the killer they like is underpowered.) And last time I checked, there's no map filters in this game, or any sort of way to avoid specific killers, so already the experience leaves whether or not your game is fun up to complete chance.

If the game is at this point where player preference and gameplay variety is disregarded in place of creating a fun and rewarding experience for killers and diehard survivor players who find no fault with the game in its current state and enjoy masochism, then maybe you're actually right that people aren't willing/ready to play this game. But I'd argue that they just feel stuck doing so because no other game in this genre has had a chance to be good due to a completely cornered market.

FNAF is a killer DLC, with a majority killer audience.

The FNAF audience that isn't already playing DBD isn't coming to play survivor. They've done that already . Over and over. They don't care about running from Springtrap, dropping pallets, getting beamer saves. Most of them watch survivor gameplay and fall asleep.

They're coming to play Springtrap, because it's the first time that's ever been possible for them outside of a random 8 bit FNAF spinoff game. PLAYING Springtrap is what is attracting them. Not playing against them. Sure, at low MMR, killer is probably okay for the first few hours. Then you're MMR is in that bubble that will match you with pretty much anyone. That's when new killer players will start to feel stressed and anxious, and the FNAF audience won't just switch to survivor. They'll leave. If anything, it's the killer experience that needs to be given some help for the lower end of the MMR spectrum. Even, by your own logic, at the risk of making experienced killers more powerful with that help.

This entire post is just "make survivor even easier" with a completely incorrect context. Survivors have had a LOT of improvements. Anti camp, anti 3 gen, base kit this, base kit that, perk buffs etc. The handholding has gone far enough and there comes a time where survivors just need to get better instead of having their hand held to cross the proverbial street. The game is the easiest it's EVER been, and that INCLUDES survivors.

Survivors are NOT victims. They haven't been for quite some time. Downvote all you want - you know it's true. Nobody is coming for FNAF to play survivor.

    You're literally wrong.

  • I think what you mean to say is not OP, but flawed in design. A common problem with DBD kilers. Killers are designed to kill, survivors are designed to die. Huge gap between killers and survivors. It's less so the OP killers that devs are worried about, and more so the ones that suck.
