  • This game reminds me of smash brothers. The smash devs wanted to make a fun party game. Unfortunately, it attracted a ton of sweaty people that got super serious about a baby game.

Unlike DBD, smash adapted by including a lot of fun modes and unlockables. Same reason why mortal kombat has been around for so long. That series has always been a joke balance wise, but they provide other things to do other than get crushed online with a broken matchmaking system.

I don't think DBD will ever be balanced. The game is a mess. But I wonder why they haven't bothered with other modes of play?

And if we have to fight swf no matter what, why not provide at least bloodpoints bonuses to make it worth it? Maybe like a reverse bbq and chili. Get 25% per member in the group.

Anyway, don't stress too much about this dumb game. Maybe play some troll builds for a while.

Yeah that’s fair. Dbd didn’t really care about certain things like colour blindness or motion sickness

What was the most baffling was the dev response when colorblind accessibility features got brought up. Whenever I search for this topic most of their response is passive aggressive garbage and irritation. "We know already! Telling us again is not gonna make go any faster!" I'm guessing there might be some frustration if you build your game around terrible FOV and not being able to see anything.

The Canada Media Fund is involved with this game, right? At least in the US, whenever a government program gets involved in a project they have to take into account a certain level of accessibility from the start. For example, color contrast/overall readability. I'm guessing the leafs are not as strict with this, or the devs hoped they wouldn't notice.

VVVV - That reminds me. I remember a while back a couple of people were concerned about possible seizures caused by the very common excessive flashlight clicking and blindness effect. There was no dev response, and people in the forum just made fun of them. JuSt PlAy AnOtHeR gAmE. The lack of empathy from the makers of the game and community is amazing.

  • If I see a key or if the majority of the group has items I equip Franklin's. I've seen people tilt and throw the game because they wanted to retrieve their precious key or purple items badly.

But if you feel better dodging or "tunneling," do what you have to. You don't have to follow anyone's silly made up house rules.

  • What exactly is the plan with modifying the matchmaking at this point in the life of the game? The reason for the disparity of the matchmaking is the small playerbase. When competitive games get old and fail to innovate they lose fresh players. And what you have left are lifers and streamers that make make the environment pretty unwelcoming.

The new killer seems to be an effort to pander to a group of people to join the game. Unfortunately, they will inevitably get matched against the existing playerbase. They will get crushed, get made fun of, and leave. No amount of MMR or internet witchcraft is going to fix the situation.

Maybe the devs are planning some drastic changes to the game? If not, they are better off continuing selling cute cosmetics to streamers and the sweats.

  • I've run this build and encountered it as a survivor. The main counter is to do ignore it and do generators. Even if the killer changes his mind and starts chasing people, he's not gonna do much with those perks.

The killer gets entity displeased, and you get your points. If the sacrificed survivor doesn't disconnect thank him for buying you time.

*With this said, basement Bubbas are precious. They are only protecting their property.

  • We need a Scooby Doo expansion. Most of the matches feel like one of their episodes anyway.

  • I usually just camp people with TTV in their name. I'm not giving them content, and I will make your stream as boring as possible by letting you rot in the hook, even if it costs me the game.

  • I'd be ok with having a bloodpoint multiplier for the killer depending on how big the SWF party is. 50% for a two man, and then 25% for additional member.

If I'm going to be fighting SWF idiots no matter what, at least buy me dinner first.

Hi, I'm relatively new to the game and already I'm really struggling with mental health issues whenever I decide to pick up the game for a few matches.

I'm honestly just looking for someone who can provide some of the ways you guys have been able to cope with the toxicity in the game? (Body blocking, flashlight stunning, tea bagging, etc) A few games I can take and let me be clear I don't mind losing but the bullying and harassment is really getting to me.

I mostly play killer, namely Bubba/Lestherface/Cannibal but a few others as well. I feel like especially recently the cruelty among survivor players has spiked significantly and I don't know what to do... I do my best to be calm and not let it get to me but it's really affecting my sanity and causing me to become severely depressed and in some cases causing me to self harm (Something I haven't done since years and years ago). I honestly am just looking to improve and play with people but I can't take much more of the unnecessary cruelty...

Find another game, or watch people stream it. The developer is just as toxic as the community, so things will never improve. They even have cute passive aggressive stuff implemented into the UI like the "Did you have fun?" rating after you get crushed by a premade groups of rank 1s while at rank 13.

These people are not worth your time, money, and health. There are lots of other horror games that can fill this gap. Feel better.

Really? If that’s what you’re doing then stop it. There is nothing illegal about doing nothing and then wait for the hatch. It may be a newbie strategy but it’s still one that I use from time to time when paired up with idiots that don’t know how to avoid BBQ or go for unsafe hooks (for starters). It may not be a strategy you approve of, but it isn’t against the rules. Stop abusing the report function.

The Unsportsmanlike field says "purposely losing the game, not participating in or disconnecting from the game early to avoid defeat." The samples I reported are people that hide and wait for people to die from the start of the game. If you realize your team is a clownshow and you have to salvage the situation, then that's a different story.

I'll just keep reporting these scumbags, and let them sort it out. Most of these reports get ignored anyway, the developers are just as toxic as the playerbase.

  • What I seen more frequently is solo survivors that don't participate in normal play. They concentrate on hiding, waiting for the team to die, then scape through the hatch.

I usually report them in the post game screen. But I think that report system is a placebo and is mostly there to alleviate post-game salt.

  • This is something that happens naturally in fighting games and similar competitive games. If you join up late or towards the end of life of a game, most of what you are going to be ranked against is lifers. I took a break too and came back, and at rank 15 I'm getting matched against ranks 5-1 PC players exclusively. The queues will stay like this since you won't get fresh players to stick around if they just get crushed.

I also wouldn't put too much fate on the developers making things better. Something similar happened in Conan Exiles where they realized that the playerbase is dwindling, so they don't really balance much. They are just phoning it in and releasing cosmetic dlc until they move on to the next project.

So without the toxic sarcasm the bootlickers are showing here, I'd recommend to play something else. And whenever this game company releases a new project, remember the playerbase it attracts and how little this developer does in situations like this.
