Infectious fright for his demon form, the rest is to support his way there: Corrupt Intervention to cover his main weakness, Enduring since he is a M1 killer and Sloppy for more blood and slowdown. He is pretty flexible though, some run M&A or full slowdown
-
Meg and Billy, mostly sticking to my old guns. Sometimes Kate and Oni, since he plays like flickbilly (flick back when)
-
I hated the game when SBMM was active. Killer was almost unwinnable with non-S-tiers. Constant swfs and only thousands of hours players. Playing as survivor felt really easy on the other hand, since everyone could genrush and loop. Without a weak link, it was very survivorsided.
Dbd is a weird game, since its not balanced for high or low skilled people. It has to be a mishmash of all sorts to work out.
-
I like the unique playstyle and hope there will be more killers, that "dont play dbd". Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Huntress, Deathslinger etc
But for hag especially, i would love a change to her campiness and a buff for more map control. EG no traps 8m around the hook, but teleport distance is unlimited.
-
As long as your expectations are low, its pretty fun. I always assume potatoes, so im never disappointed in my teammates. Any good survivor is a plus. Then you dont mind dying as well, its all about the immersion and fun for me now

go watch a billy use engravings or play them yourself. it takes 3 saws to overheat with doubles and 4 with 1 engraving. billy doesn’t have a single useable add on if you don’t use engravings that’s not balanced.
Can you recommend me a streamer who uses engravings? I'm not very motivated to play engravings billy tbh, i prefer base billy and dont want to mess with muscle memory.
Seems like you're having issues with his addons mainly. I would suggest to just play him basekit, but if thats no fun for you, then the nerf hit you indeed. I usually just judge killers on basekit only exactly for that reason. At some point, nerfs to iri heads, moris, omegablink, instasaw etc will happen and you dont want to get used to them and then power down once they're gone.

nah dude the overheat is a *****, it's very significant. You can't keep, chainsawing pallets then go to a gen across the map, down someone there go to another gen, as fast as you could before
I havent overheated since it was implemented (except once to test it). Its not even close usually, even when i miss chainsaws and travel and play pallets etc. It cools down quickly and there just arent that many worthwhile chainsaw opportunitys per minute that you can overheat regularly. Often walking to catch up for backrevs is better than going for midrange hailmarys. Breaking pallets normally is better unless you're mindgaming for the survivor to leave the loop. Catching up with the chainsaw is only worth over 20m away. And even if you play shack window and other tiles with curves, you still get plenty oppportunities to cool down the heat inbetween.
Afaik most streamers also agree that overheat is not an issue.
-
After a longish break, seems like the community is split on billy. Imo he is still a toptier killer as he has always been. Fantastic for pubstomping but struggles against good survivors, like most killers except nurse, spirit and maybe huntress.
He is definetly worth learning and viable if you get good with him. Just keep in mind that he is not a TRUE toptier killer like nurse or spirit. He still plays the looping game and you will be capped against good survivors.
If you're a timmy who likes big power spikes, he is still a very fun killer. Just work on backrevs first until you hit them reliably. Then work on controlling the flick in the first second and you should be a lethal force. Always keep in mind, that a game is never lost until its lost, since his slugging power is very high and you can turn games around once pallets disappear.

Hillbilly's base kit was perfectly balanced (Which the devs even said themselves), all he needed was an addon-pass because he had some broken addons, he did not need a rework.
Edit: Removed an image i didnt mean to add
His basekit is basically unaffected though. He was perfect before and is perfect after the nerf. The only change were his broken addons. Overheat is completely irrelevant
-
He has one of the best stealths with M&A. He can softcounter low loops by stalking. "Backrev" with 99% EW and has a very good slugging afterwards. Not as good as Oni, but he has basically no terrorradius which is pretty strong.
He could be powercrept - no idea on the latest killers powerlevels - but he was always on the above average powerscale for me. B+

not true at all unless, again, you’re not using an engraving. the overheat doesn’t normally matter unless you’re using an engraving. the thing about that though is if you take away engravings there are literally no good add ons left not to mention, no engravings billy is extremely boring always has been.
Ok, you're opinion. I'm playing him without addons since release and that is the blast for me. Engravings are fun to watch and another layer of billy that can be mastered, but since i never use addons, i cant comment on how much overheat affects that. I never found insta or engravings billy enjoyable on the other hand, just too much power. I'd rather play Oni if i wanted engravings billy or arrowkey billy from back in the day. But i cant imagine how much you must be revving to overheat, that takes soo long. If its just back and forth revving at loops until the survivors messes up slightly, im actually glad thats timelimited. I never really liked those attritionsaws because of survivors impatience, i prefer clean ones.

But Myers is worse than Oni, Leatherface, basically all snowball killers are better at what they do then him.
Oni does not need to slow down to cause pressure, he simply plays as a regular m1 killer while gaining snowball potential.
Leatherface has constant snowball pressure with his one shot chainsaw and although he suffers the same map pressure downside with Myers, his early game is not as weak.
The only redeeming quality that Myers has are his add ons, some are very strong on certain maps and others can change his entire way he plays but were looking at his base kit. Add ons aside, he is struggling.
Yeah he isn't the best at what he does, but his overall package is still strong. Great survivors can deny you EW2 early on, but apart from that he feels powerful. Good stealth and very good snowballing, if you get a timely EW3. He is kind of a pubstomper like billy, high potential if unchecked.
His design and atmosphere is top though. A killer who is just watching you is such a great concept, havent seent that in other games.
-
I consider Myers one of their best killers, so no changes required. But if anything, i would change Tier 1. Something more interactive would be cool, eg if you're starving evil too long at tier 2, you drop back to tier 1 for example.
-
Sticks to gens like glue. Consistent last second unhook timings if needed, but preferably on gens. Loops well ofc and knows the maps. Which gens to do first, to skip the next one and challenge 3 gens early. Knows how to play/counter every killer. Takes the heat for the team when they need to heal. Can lose weaker killers too and not only loop. Not dependant on perks or items to survive.
But short version is: Loop well, rush gens and just the required amount of altruism.

If you're a M1lly then Overheat won't be a problem for you.
I play him almost chainsaw only, but overheating is on another level of chainsaw usage. You dont want to walk around revved up with survivor movespeed. You need about 4 revs to overheat, thats too many wrong decisions if you cant connect any of them. Shouldnt have started the chainsaw if it cant land. If you misscalculate once or twice its fine, still halfway. But the whole overheat bar, thats a lot of missplay imo

nah a seasoned billy player will disagree. the whole point of chainsawing in loops was to either curve or back rev, the draw back being the saw hit box is tiny. using engravings which good players did/do overheat isnt manageable i cant just stop sawing when someone’s in a dead zone cause i missed one curve a couple seconds earlier.
You need to miss way more than one chainsaw to overheat. Or hold it for reaaally long times and you could still miss a chainsaw and not overheat. Tbh if you overheat, you made multiple mistakes in a row and its probably not overheat beeing the problem. You shouldnt be missing that many chainsaws to where overheat becomes an issue.
-
He still feels the same as ever. The stupid scream could be gone and i wouldn't miss it, but his ability hasn't really changed. His addons got nerfed, rightfully. But otherwise he's exactly the same. Overheating has to be forced, you can forget about its existence.
While i totally question the billy change itself apart from addons, gameplay wise he is still balanced.
-
Balance at highranks sucks. Games are too swingy and predictable and nothing has really changed since release. Enjoyable up to that point, but overall just a game for casuals but no love for dedicated gamers.
-
Meg and Billy. I barely play killer nowadays though
-
The position is better than the old one imo. The bottom part of the screen is important for gameplay. If they push everything to the top, it wouldnt distract from gameplay.
-
I like them, but i miss the Ali Shuffle on controllers
-
Maybe because the bottom of the screen is the important part of your vision. Whereas the top end is mostly useless. Now the HUD covers the sky instead of potentially useful information like a survivor hiding.
I like the new UI, it only shifted from bottom left to top left with better visibility. Refreshing after almost 5 years
-
Some games can be pretty bad, but my bar is very low so i tend to enjoy most games when i do get to play
-
Hope, Blood Pact, Sprint Burst and Iron Will/Fixated.
My favorite fun build, gotta go fast. On Meg ofc
-
That selfcare is useless. It has its uses in lower ranks and with botany it feels to me like a really good combo. In highranks it becomes mostly obsolete
-
It should deactivate in lockers too, hope that will make it to live.
Other than that, great change to the 2 most toxic perks. Just curious where the real devs are. Blink twice if y'all kidnapped :P
-
4-swf with all blood pacts will be broken. That will make rank 1 deathsquads completely ridiculous.
-
Only watched the last hours of the finals, but it was interesting. The first tournament with a serious price pool and a broader audience. Well done Hexy. I was only surprised by the amounts of pyramid heads, he still lacks map pressure and snowball potential. Huntress and Billy are still better against competitive teams imo. I hope the devs are watching this as well and take some notes for balance.

personal idea (might have heard it somewhere but dont remember) lower the time to 10/20/30 seconds but it doesnt go down while in chase but secondarily it deactivates DS from people if someone else is hooked
legitimately someone tell me if this is good bad decent or trash idea
That could work, there has been a lot of ideas to improve DS and fix its many flaws. I'd welcome any change tbh, most importantly lockerjumping. Its just up to the devs to give it priority for a change. Instead of billys overheat for example.
-
BT, DH is fine. Unbreakable and Soul Guard alone fine too.
DS is the problem that glues all second chances together. DS itself is also just 60s of beeing free to do anything you want. BM, teabag, bodyblock, hookrush, lockerjump, last gen "Stop tunneling"
-
Honestly, without addons she is relatively balanced. Once you increase duration, movement speed and everything with stridor she becomes an unstopabble force. But basekit, she has to get pretty close which takes time.
Also, use iron will. Not just for spirit, its one of the best perks in the game. The only true survival perk

What does that even mean? There are plenty of people that play without tunneling, no wonder you're so scared of it, you must see every DS activate every match, of course you would want it nerfed as it would heavily benefit your style of play, lmao.
I dont tunnel. I rarely eat DS'es, but when i do, its from yolo unhooks, doing last gens, jumping into lockers etc. All the stuff that people complain about. Like i said, i dont like tunneling and i wish this game was fairer in a basekit. But DS is the wrong solution, it gets abused.

How is "If survivors just do gens they win" an arguement? If someone gets saved, and the killer is on the other side of the map chasing someone else, how does that unhooked survivors BT / DS / UB even matter?
It matters, because the killer is not eliminating one survivor. As long as its 1vs4, the survivors will win. If it 1vs3, the killer will win unless 1 gen is left.
If you deny the option to kill someone, then the only option left is playing 1vs4. Which is an easy task

Don't think I've ever faced a team that just don't do gens, that's (at least from what I've heard) their objective.
How is that an argument

- Equip DS, BT, UB and another second chance.
- Killer chases the unhooking survivor and your DS / BT / UB don't get used
- ?
- Profit
If you face survivors who do gens, you're not gonna win with fairplay and alternating hooks.
-
@Seanzu said:

DS Risks
You don't get tunneled
The other players get chased the entire game so you never get hooked
You get slugged for the timer
You get moried
You miss the skill check
If you're a killer that never gets to activate pop then you're simply not a good killer, someone with DS doesn't determine when it goes off because the killer can simply ignore it, the killer gets to CHOOSE for an entire minute when to knock 25% off a generator that's being worked on.
- Equip DS, BT, UB and another second chance.
- Get tunneled and use those perks to genrush OR
- Dont get tunneled and genrush anyway
- ?
- Profit.
I dont like tunneling, but second chances have waaay too much impact when going off. If killers had 4 Corrupt interventions to equip from, we would see similar complaints. If survivors cant work on gens due to using 4 perks, it would be really easy playing killer at high ranks.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
Even though gen rushing is pretty much impossible now...a trial warmup would fix what little rushing there is and also help with balancing weaker killers.
Impossible?
Every game in red ranks is a genrush routine. Haha second chances secure gentime gg. 4 years same tactic.
Its a laughable meta in eu atleast
-
I dropped Whispers since BBQ came out. Finding the first and last survivor of the game doesnt cut it anymore to me, there are stronger perks to track survivors. Some of them have more benefits, like Thrilling Thremors is a BBQ/Genslow-hybrid and BBQ itself is a better Whispers if you ignore hatch. I can see some uses for Doctor and Pig in particular, but generally i find it too weak nowadays.
-
16 second chances should not be allowed.

DS should be taken out of the game and a feature introduced into basekit that instantly summons the entity to kill survivors who teabag the exit.
Ha i like that idea
-
Noed should be basekit with a totemcounter (DS too)
-
For survivors it doesnt matter which platform you're on. I've played this game on 10 fps, on 140 fps, with controller and with M+K (depending where i am) and it barely matters for survivors.
Controller killers are the only one with a real disadvantage compared to M+K killers, but since they are not facing killers as enemies, but survivors, it also doesnt matter.
I've been welcoming crossplay so far, as in almost every game with crossplay.
-
If a hex survives until the late game, any other hex would've been stronger compared to replacing Noed.

I never said it was better than second chance perks. Second chance perks are way overtuned and overshadow everything as they have for years.
Botany is only better with 2 or less. This perk also includes dead and hooked, not just injured. The likelyhood of have 3 or more injured, hooked, or dead is quite high. It's kind of an anti slug perk as well.
If you're running anything outside of the full second chance meta, it's on par.
Its kinda average overall. You sounded a bit like the perk was broken strong or new meta for SWFs, but that sounds about right. Its usable, but like botany, its a niche build.
-
@Blueberry said:
I think people are vastly underestimating how good this perk is.
Care to explain? Unless 3-4 Survivors are injured, Botany is better. And healing speed only matters on good survivors and if you face good ones, then second chance perks are way stronger.
-
Dragons Grip combos well with Trail of Torment. Highlight the gen for survivors and oneshot them without Terror radius. Maybe decent on high mobility killers like Freddy, but more fun than meta.
Blood Favour is useless, it runs out before you catch up
Undying looks really fun in a full totem build. Sadly you lose all tokens, so Ruin is the best nontrap-totem to combo with. Haunted Grounds and Retribution with Undying is gonna be amazing though. If it glows, it goes.
-
Seems weak compared to Botany. Maybe a triple healer build if you're feeling it but nothing relevant
-
Those numbers dont achieve anything. They wanted to stop hook revving, but it still takes over 20s to overheat. Due to the cooldown you can still do 5 crossmap chainsaws before overheating. So you can still facecamp and spam the saw, what they wanted to prevent.
What are you trying to achieve devs?
Maybe try higher numbers like 20 heat buildup per second and 10 recovery per second. Then you can only hold the chainsaw for 5-10 seconds at 99% but it also cools down in less than 10 seconds, allowing him to chainsaw if there is a good opportunity but preventing him from holding it for ages.
You overheat is still doing nothing, now its just a forced slow cooldown. But it still does nothing in the first place
-
Freddy: All alarm clocks should be active, not just one.
Spirit: She needs an indicator shen she phases.
Deathslinger has no map pressure. He seems fine.
-
Iron Will, Kindred, Sprint Burst and Inner Strength/Borrowed Time
Killers have individual builds, usually enduring and corrupt plus some perks that synergize with the power. Today i have been giving bubba a try with a full totem build. Retribution, Haunted Grounds, Devour Hope and NOED. I never played bubba due to billy and never used hex perks, this build had me laughing so much. A nice change of pace
