Yes you can but it's still a perk/item solution to a problem, which I really dislike.
A perk solution to a perk problem in a game centered around using perks as abilities. Sounds fine to me.

This is a great idea. The points and pipping drives me nuts. I hate to say I care about pipping as much as I do.
I honestly think it's the best solution considering everything. Ranked is frustrating because players who would be better off in casual are essentially forced to rank up when they shouldn't be, ranks are great for a competitive side to a community but no matter how hard you try the majority of players are just wanting to have some fun and play the game, and don't want pips or ranks to be such a front runner. The best easy fix imo is just slapping a casual mode that still has the emblems and blood point gain, but doesn't have all the ranking. That way it feels a lot less stressful as a whole and let's casual players have more enjoyment, it would technically increase wait times possibly on ranked itself but honestly I think it's a solid trade off if it means that the game is more enjoyable as a whole.
-
Honestly I would say they need to loosen the reigns on actually getting pips / keeping pips, but it would just make red ranks that much worse if it was easier to get into. I think the best fix is to make a casual mode that doesn't have the ranking system and also have ranked and just overhaul the ranking system. As it stands players are forced into a massive competitive stance and it's really not good for the games health.

Coming from a killer main, this game is so killer sided it's not even funny. Sometimes the survivors escape, it's part of the game. There are map reworks needed, killer reworks needed, and the entire base of survivor gameplay needs looked at. Survivor is so boring it's not even funny, I don't like holding M1 /rb for 80 seconds with quick time events in between. Something needs done to make generator repairing more engaging for survivors as the only two things you need to master to be good as a survivor is skill checks and looping. There is so much more to killer and it's kinda sad that killer is the only side really fun atm.
-
I feel like Ohtofu isn't being mentioned enough lmao.
Ussylis is pretty great
Scott jund is informative and has some interesting points.
Noob3 is hilarious to watch
King has a couple of good videos
-
This needs looked at honestly Got done with adept Freddy and stuff and I honestly don't like the condition for Adept killers, To adept survivor all you have to do is escape, compared to killers having to double pip it's insane. Especially when emblems need looked at, it's dumb that Meyers and Billy are stuck in a position like they are.
-
Your evidence proves honestly nothing though, you lack percentage of each killer played in comparison. You lack the proper length of time for the buff. Nemesis could be more of a reason for the "buff" than the changes you made to the basekit
-
Yeah its dumb honestly. My suggestion to BHVR is they need to add new modes, casual mode would be a great start. I love the content they make for the game, but the issue most people have is from rank system being garbage and the game becoming stale (it's a three year old game. If you got 1000+ hours congrats that game has earned it's money and then some) the best way to keep people in the game is to continue balancing and adding new modes.

I don’t think we need a DC ban since, when you DC you: lose your item, gain no bloodpoints, and lose two pips
I think we do, since obviously that isn't enough to make people question if DC is worth it, despite it obviously not being worth it. BHVR needs better detection of what caused the DC. If it's a connection issue the person shouldn't get the DC ban. If it is by them intentionally clicking the leave game button (don't see why this is so hard?) Then they should get the DC ban. Let's be real if you get so mad that you DC by litterally pulling out your internet you are probably going to take a break regardless. After that fix people who litterally kill themselves on first hook really quickly and you should be good, but that should also be early in the match. Sometimes the person who gets hooked, has to make the sacrifice play for somebody to get out and that shouldn't be punished.
-
How about instead of making ruin base they add a second objective and add new things to the game. Like survivors need more variety. Jeff should have something besides his different model to differentiate him from Dwight. Once you get all the perks survivors are just skins of each other, with nothing to really make a character different gameplay wise.
Survivors need a second objective that isn't holding M1 and sitting there looking for totems. It needs something to make survivor as a whole more entertaining.
-
I knew something was going to need to be changed but you litterally nerfed what made him fun and added the skill gap between a ok oni and a good oni

ONI is hillbilly needs preparation to use own power, so is completely worse than billy now. Who want to play as him?
Except with better manieverabilty and even a basic lunge being a insta down in his power. Yes, Billy is totally better.

The rudeness is unnecessary, and they're actually right. Bodyblocking is only reportable when it's done to a survivor, and even then only if done for an extended length of time.
Funny enough body blocking survivors as wraith is the best way for him to get a hit.
-
Honestly yeah working with the killer is reportable it's one of the things they use as a example for reporting. I would have reported them and moved on. It's not like you were going to be in the match to much longer anyway

Funny..I asked around..wanna guess how many nurses several high profile streamers have seen since her change ?
And then..wanna guess how many of them did well ? When you find out you'll see why I dont take the kind of things your saying at face value
In my original statement I was referring to prenerf nurse. It appears you are taking what i said Letting it in one ear and out the other. Everything I have said prior to now is about prenerf nurse in terms of her prior tier placement.
As such a lot of your criticism in that post is already irrelevant to what I was saying. Nurse has always been a killer with a high learning curve but a high reward if you master it. Now it's had a couple of months out there so yes it is plausible that maybe the issue didn't work out the way the devs were hoping. But even in terms of just a killer tweak this isn't necessarily a bad thing, it isn't a bad thing for a games meta to change. Maybe they went a little harsh on her, maybe not harsh enough I honestly do not know, what I do know is that the game is getting changing meta on a killer level which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Honestly they need to look into survivors and getting a range of power for each kind of perk to get the meta rolling on a perk level. But further more the fact they are trying to fox issues with such a divided community honestly deserves praise imo. I have no idea how many times I have heard complaints about nurse and spirit prior to these changes. And how many complaints I have read on these articles about nurse post change. Give them time and just voice your opinion. I hope they fix it sooner rather than later.

That's right, Balanced Landing now needs a buff or rework.
With the recent release of the Cursed Legacy chapter, Balanced Landing was tweaked to no longer give the stagger reduction when exhausted. It also removed the noises made when falling and the grunt when landing.
The thing is that the nerf heavily outweighs the buff. Balanced Landing is now the worst exhaustion perk in the game and one of the worst perks in the entire survivor selection. The perk is straight up useless when exhausted, no longer providing a passive.
Now that the nerf is officially in place, the perk needs a buff or rework. What I'm thinking is that the perk should give the stagger reduction and remove the noises made when falling, but the exhaustion aspect of the perk should be completely removed. It is Balanced Landing after all, and only being able to balance your landing once every 40-60 seconds completely contradicts the name. The description of the perk literally says you have cat-like reflexes. Cats don't have a cooldown on stabilizing their landing. Just remove the exhaustion part of the perk and Balanced Landing will be a viable perk again.
Sprint burst is useless while exhausted. Why is BL beince useless while exhausted a issue?

If a killers playrate dropping to almost nothing when they were top played before doesnt make you see there is an issue..and if you think base nurse was SS then you clearly have a weak understanding of nurse as she was
Yes because many people who have thousands of hours of experience and are competitive players don't know crap about what killers are the best to play against players in red thanks. That makes logical sense.

Agree, but maybe the devs will do that in the future with Legion, but I can imagin that will take ALOT of time, I mean look at freddy how long he suffered...
Even though the nurse change is needed, shes just boring now... but thats just my opinion.
I really hope they change legion, because at the rate he is going, they are either going to have to nerf several perks and make them worse (Nemisis anyone?) or just rework him. I would rather the later.
On Nurse I get it, I have heard praise and hate for it so I mean, it is what it is I guess.

1..insidious leatherface could always cancel bt..that's not new so that's irrelevant
2..I agree and have stated in posts legion doesnt need dw anymore
3..nurses changes ARE that bad..as a nurse main it's the worst killer change since the after patch gf nerf..statistically it failed at everything they wanted it to accomplish and just sucked the fun away from nurse herself..both killing her play rate and Reducing community faith in their ability to change other killers without making similar mistakes
I am aware of point number 1, I was simply talking about various methods one can counter BT since it was stated as a "uncounterable perk."
and honestly I think most people exaggerate the nurse changes, Nurse was always meant to be a character you had to learn, maybe they should buff her base movement speed slightly now since her power isnt as good, but she is definitely a lot better now than what she was, but I do think they may have taken the fun out of the killer for some people so they should maybe look into fixing that. She isnt the SS tier she used to be but she is still solid, so I dont see the issue.
-
I would reduce lucky break to about 30 seconds and then when your healed it resets. Combined with iron will and urban evasion would be solid for stealth builds
-
If you want to talk changes. Honestly legion just needs to lose deep wound all together. He's at a point where he isn't aggravating to go against but rather just boring. He's essentially a m1 killer with a Sprint that has a lack of kill potential and lack of map pressure. He's just boring to go against and not really fun to play. While I agree with the speed buffs he needs deep wound to be replaced with either oblivious or something. Deep wound is just boring and even if it slows down the game slightly it isn't enough to really matter. Deep wound is better on borrowed time than anything.
Speaking of borrowed time, it's really not that great anymore. Freddy has the oblivious status while survivors are asleep, meaning BT doesn't work if the survivor is asleep.
Ghost faces stalk and pigs crouch also counter BT because they reduce the terror radius considerably. Insidious counters it because it reduces the terror radius to 0. So a camping insidious leatherface isn't affected by by if he waits for the right moment.
There is also the option of just Not camping and tunneling a survivor unless need be. Is there times where camping is the right play? Yes definitely. But you can't tell me as a person who plays both that chasing a single survivor non stop across the map when there are 3 other survivors doing gens in a game that's all about applying pressure is a good strategy.
Also nurse changes weren't that bad let's be real did they go overboard slightly? Maybe but it's a change that needed to be made.
-
As survivor it's when I wind up in a position I can't save without risking myself getting killed but the other survivor expects you to just charge in and save them despite the fact that they are still likely dead. Sorry for not saving you when you have a camping leatherface dude.
As for killer I hate it survivors bm. Just a pet peeves lol.

Because of the fact on those maps like haddonfield and Macmillan it created uncounterable infinites. Just because it's situational doesn't mean it's fair. The changes take away the op part of Balanced and gives it a powerful buff with 100% noise cancel when you land when exhausted.
That's more due to bad map design though, if it creates a infinite you fix the map to fix the infinite. Do they need looked at? Sure but this sounds like a map issue, not a perk issue
-
He probably will get nerfed sadly. He's really fun to play though
-
If it wasn't for swf and custom game, me nor any of my friends would have even considered dead by daylight. Dude honestly your arguments are laughable about swf. Does it have it's issues, sure. However the fix isn't removing swf. You would lose a huge portion of players. I have yet to see a single argument fr you with any rationality as to why devs work the way they do on this game, or why they implemented swf in the first place. I'm so sick and tired already (only being on these forums for a couple days) blaming people for wanting a way to play a game together and wanting a basic feature like voice chat in a multiplayer game for why the game has balance issues. It's honestly kinda idiotic to come to that conclusion.
-
Honestly they shouldn't take advice from litterally anyone anywhere. The data should speak for itself.
As far as oni is concerned though I absolutely love him, but when he isn't in demon mode he is essentially a m1 killer. I think a passive ability outside of demon mode might make him a bit better but blood orbs make good for tracking injured survivors and he is one of the few killers that make you feel like healing is really important.

Try getting a 2k in purple and red ranks as killer and see what happens.
im still relatively new to the game, only in green ranks at the moment, wasnt trying to be all like hey you shouldnt do that, but like at the same time bring a little sarcasm into a thread about a idea lol.

I'd like to know.
I always play to get a 4K, it's how I have a good time. But, I would like to know if I'm playing against a SWF or solo's. I don't wanna bring out my A-game against a bunch of poor solo's!
However, I see this getting heavily abused, and, I understand why it cannot be implemented.
considering the devs are balancing around a 2k, I would reccomend not trying to get a 4k every game, they are nice though, so I mean, hey goals.
Anyway onto the actual topic, I serioulsy hope they dont implement this. I would not be surprised if the majority of matches, have at least 2 friends in many of them.
-
Honestly I feel like this is one of those situations where the devs should totally look into, like for example leatherface has a issue of being to camp heavy and you could fix this slightly by fixing insidious to fit the current meta. But honestly idk how I'd go about solving the issue because of the fact that if that was my swf group or me solo and I saw that I would stay the heck away and focus on gens. Like honestly it's just not worth it. I tend to stay away from most basement saves because of this exact reason and try to get any gen near the basement done quickly to try to avoid someone getting trapped there. Like imo survivors should just try to avoid the basement area especially if you are dealing with killers like trapper hag or demo it's just not really safe to risk especially if you get out down into the basement.
-
Wow lookie here another player who doesn't want to actually learn the game and how to deal with the killers. She has a phasing animation survivors can see. She had her add-ons with issues nerfed or reworked, she has proper animations, and collision was fixed. Seriously there is literally not much else they can do without making her such a worse killer it's not even funny. Wait for the ptb of it's not enough after you ACTUALLY give her a chance, then say something
