The new player grind may not be the best, but it’s definitely better than many other games out there.
Meh, it being less bad doesn't make it better IMO. This guy committed a genocide of several thousands of innocent people, this one only killed a few dozen innocent people, so the later guy is a good guy.
Bad is bad, no matter the degree.
I only started the game at the Pyramid head chapter and I'm not done grinding yet, I was lucky enough to start the game with the advices of experienced player who told me who to up first and what to unlock. So yeah, i got the meta perk, I bought the leatherface chapter on day one for killers, didn't bother with DS and OoO so no Halloween chapter, but I barely have half of the survivor's unlocked and even less of the killers.
The more SVV and killer they release, the higher the blood point gain should be, it should still take longer each time they introduce something new, but not exponentially.
New player should always have it easier than veteran, that's the point of having veteran giving feedback to improve the game ^^

swf should be sw1f
and kyf should give the 25% of the bloodpoints you make on it
so... people can play sfw fair matches with 1 friend
or play with multiple of them but getting less bloodpoints without annoying a random killer
Why give BP to KyF when every perk is unlocked there and you have free addons/item? Doesn't make any sense to me. You can't go midway, if swf on voice com is OP because of free info, 2 people having the advantage is still too much by that reasoning.
I said it before, the random killer is more often than not annoyed of not stomping the opposition, SWF or not, they WILL complain about any unfair advantages they can imagine to compensate for them not getting any better at the game.
If you lose against a strong SWF you will de rank until you get to a pool of players closer to your actual skill level, that's the whole point of the barebone matchmaking the game has.

I dont think its the situation of----> nerf SWF = game dies.. . They could something to acknowledge SWF and it'd be better if they did...
It wouldn't be any better, people complaining about SWF don't care about SWF per say, what they care about is the increase challenge when they rather have an easy win by facing uncoordinated teams with no clue about what they are doing. Give them an indicator, which i could not care less about w they'll just jump to the next thing they think is responsible for them not getting better at the game.
No matter what the dev say, this is a competitive game, if the killer win, the survivor lose and vice versa, it's one team against the other.
From the end game scoring to the end game message from the entity, the rank system, it is and always will be competitive. Going in a march to play casually doesn't change that you have to compete against the other side of the game to make any substantial progress, even assuming one buy all DLCs, they would still need BP to unlock any skill they'd want to use since unlocking it all threw the shrine would be too long and random to start with.
The fact that some or even a huge amount of people go in matches to have fun with friends won't change the fact they go into something that is now competitive at its core.
PS : I go in matches to have fun and usually have a lot of it, be it for a win or loss.
What i do get mad about is rarely if ever the killer, it's usually the dumb team mates who usually do more works toward getting you sacrificed than the killer, this is one of the main reason that I rather play with friends than solo. Everyone has a fair chance and I play with like minded people who will not shy away from giving the killer a kill if they deserve it.

DBD is a casual game... It was the only ps4 game where I made many new friends and I love playing with them. Do you want to take that away? Because putting a warning for swfs will render infinite queue times for them and there will be only solo queue...
I play killer too and I don't choose lobbies. I just quit when I get yellow ping or worse. You can't win every trial and if you want to get better, don't stress with toxicity. Also look at videos and advices from more experienced players.
Finally, there will always be someone better than you. Accept it.
I don't think anything to show that someone is in a SWF or even how many people are in one and with whom would be negative, it would give you an idea of who is more likely to work with whom.
The fact that some poor broken soul is going to DC because he is to scared to play against SWF when most matches are played against at least a 2man SWF anyway already is just saddening.
As for the queue time, they'll quickly go to the forum crying that everyone is playing SWF and they need a solo only queue about a day after a SWF indicator would be added because people playing as SWF is def the cause of them not having matches, not the fact they Dodge every single match.
Those people want to create problem where they are none just for the sake of not having to play better.
I don't see them complaining about high refresh rate monitor and having unlocked FPS for the game, or my directional 7.1 headset allowing me to track survivor's sound more easily, nor that the accuracy of the detector on this or that guy's mouse making them more accurate, people with fiber optic Internet getting such a low ping and let's not forget the worst of all, people with top of the line hardware having an amazing and smooth game experience ! Those are all "unfair" advantages that people have by using better hardware or software outside of the game.
As for it being casual? Everything about it is competitive, both team can't win, it is a competition to who will win, the score system, ranks, even the negative or positive end game message are here to show that wining is the way to go.

Survivors want every advantage they can get. That's why they defend comms in swf, that's why they defend DS even though it's toxic to the game.
Sweaty survivors who want to sweat harder. That's all.
What kind of backward mentality is it to think that SWF = sweaty survivors?
And here I thought I used come to hang out with people and ######### around in game. I should tell my group that picking a hook to die in and leading the killer that didn't get a kill until then to get us while some of us escape is toxic, or that waiting at the exit gate to let the killer hit us one last time for him to get point is toxic and sweaty.
Antagonising the other side of the game only make you look stupid and only echoes well with other blindly frustrated players who can't see reality for what it is =P

ideas simple like this would make the game 100 times more fun, ofc they dont listen to our feedback and they'll just go straight up nerfing perks, get a map cooler than before and call it a day.
Great idea, less time to wait when I don't give a heck about my team mate and wait for the hatch to spawn. Makes it better for me to be even worse of a team mate and makes being selfish more rewarding for the person NOT being slugged.
There's 2 side to a coin, wether you like it or not, your idea encourage people to be more selfish as much as people to care. And anyone with a working brain that has the choice to escape and get more points or risk being down for no gain will chose the former.

I launched DBD to repair gens and loop around not to sit doing anything else
With one gen done, I'd say you are lying about you login on to do gens xD
-
Just go on a slug adventure, discover the world under a new perspective !
Take your time to chose what hook you want to be hung onto.
I'd say something about it being on you for only doing 1 gen before or maybe even after 2 k happened, but I guess on the map you were on, if you were hurt with no medkit / self care, not like Oni would have a hard time zooming around and tracking you.

Although my original post was out of frustration, i do think that a killer can easlity get paired with way more expirienced survivors that make the game super unfun. As you said, many games can be this way. Removing the DC penalty isnt a good solution but its all could think of until the new matchmaking gets reimplemented
I'm still not sure how they could make a proper matchmaking with the frequent rank reset.
-
And here I thought the sexuality of all characters were up to me, even if they mentionned them dating the opposite sex, what prevent them from dating the same sex too? Do we really need a huge neon sign saying that this or thar char is lgbtq friendly? And what if they are gay but against the lgbtq+ movement, how to be inclusive of them to? We don't have sexist character either, or homophobic for the matters, it feels weird to insist on highlighting one side of the spectrum and not the other
-
And how are you to learn anything if you only play against rank 20?
I'd like to keep the dc penalty on, thanks, I'm tired of people ruining other's experience just because they can't take a challenge.
I started playing killer when they introduced MM, I was happy to get stomped on because all I had to do is pay attention on WHY it happened and I got exponentially better thanks to all those better players.
-
The problem is then about how often the rank reset happen, if you are ranked based on the amount you play and not your skill level, there's a big issue to be fixed. And lowering the amount of rank your drop per reset isn't the solution, nor is increasing it.

It means depip only if you get 2 hooks the whole game and you camp those two hooks wile the others do gens. Fun.
Not even a 1k is a depip if it's your 9th hook, even at rank 1.
So I'm gonna skip the rest of your wall of text, you're clearly just bad
Suit yourself, I didn't expect to see many people able to put any effort in thinking on this forum to start with.
I still tried, thanks for confirming that you are part of the majority. =)
Unlike you tho, I will take the time to reply to your message, I call it a basic form of respect, I invite you to try it sometimes, you may even get some respect back for it.
Now if you play killers, you should know WHEN and HOW the majority of 2k games happen. A key that gives 2 free escape, game were we run the killer's around on strong loops were they can barely get any hooking done until end game colapse, were they defend a hooked survivor hoping to get their only kill/ have noed and make a small comeback.
I'm surprised you didn't realise that already and were unable to notice how easily hook states can be skipped with you clear tremendously higher experience of the game compared to mine. And that's without counting the constant suicide on hook by random who got their fragile ego shattered after being downed first.
Balance involve both side having fun not only one, try to remember =)

And where exactly is the game balanced around then?
Balancing the game around 50% IS Such a good idea.
Since 2k means depip in red rank for KILLERS, how can you see that as balanced?
Your balancing issue doesn't take into account this clear part of the game, nor does it take into account that dying as a survivor doesn't mean that you are not progressing in rank, rank being the sole judge we have of a survivor / killer's performance in the game at this time, making it one of the only winning factor statically worth taking into account.
One death in your team make the game exponentially harder, should we get a buff as survivor for each downed teammates? Like.. . Let's say more gen speed for each teammates who died? Maybe even a move speed buff too!
Dying being absolutely irrelevant to our only grading of "winning", the problem is the incapacity of killers to reliably kill survivor's since a high kill rate doesn't prevent survivor from doing their job. 3 survivor dying to save one is still a win, it was teamwork that allowed this one person to escape the grasp of the killer and the punishment from the entity.
But I like the idea of running around without a killer because they are too weak to do anything, that's my dream for a survivor game, my 3 friends and I strolling in a cornfield, jumping over pallets as we skip around cheerfully with out crown of flower, careless about the possibility of the physically disabled angry person too slow and too weak for being of any threat to us... This would be so much fun taunting a powerless killer as we do whatever we please, that's balanced, 4 people out of 5 having fun, a huge win !
TLDR : kill rate is bullshit as a statistic for balance purpose, as 50% is a loss for the killer in the current state of the game and a win regardless for all survivors if you are not a potato
The game get exponentially harder for survivors for each full sacrificed, hence higher killrate killers have a form of easy-ish insta down or slow in their kits.
Survivor being killed doesn't mean a loss, right NOW pips are the "winning" indicator and death DOESN'T mean depip.

I've literally been playing a level 1 legion with discordance rank 1, no issue at all with it, if it's out of range for it to trigger, it'd most likely out of my comfort zone and would be a waste of time to run there to start with.
Seriously, did you even play with the skill before opening your mouth?
It feels like if they added "cannot reveal people in lockers" on BBQ and people started crying for a nerf xD
-
I see nurse still need a huge buff, she's still clearly as weak as ever.
