  • This was really my only outlet to share bugs and possible balance issues. This feels really bad right now.

I understand that. Everyone has some objections towards changes. However one thing dev noted was true. Perks that require great skill checks should be achieved by great skill checks and they teased they have plan to make more perks based on them.

I mentioned it in a earlier post that they could make consuming a token a "Special Great Skillcheck" and any perk they deem too powerful could have the stipulation that you need a Basic Great Skillcheck. That would give them the flexibility needed for future perks. I think there are ways to change the perk without ruining what I and lets be honest 3 others like about it.

Hyperfocus is only of only skill-based perks in the game. Devs said they are changing stake out because they want great-skill check perks to only work on great skill checks and not being cheesed by stake out. Hyperfocus was never issue on it's own. If someone manages the superspeed great skill checks than they deserve those 1.8 extra progress. Stake out made many perks easy to use, perks like Road Life, Fogwise, Do No Harm… it's good change forward. Perks that remove skills are not good and I'm glad Hyperfocus will now only reward trully skilled players.

I would be fine if Stakeout didn't work with Hyperfocus, but was Fogwise and Roadlife really an issue. A lot of perks remove skill for comfort; Troubleshooter, I'm All Ears, Nowhere To Hide. I could list a lot more.

Even is this update they made Spies From The Shadow, This Is Not Happening, Small Game easier to use despite them making crow disturbance easier to spot, skillchecks easier, and just showing you totems.

I honestly don't think any of of those perks are bad for the game, but I really liked stakeout with fogwise and hate seeing that combo go.

  • I really want BHVR to not go through with these changes. If they are worried about it being to strong with Hyperfocus and future perks they should just make token consumption a "Special Great Skill Check" and update hyperfocus to only work on basic great skill checks.

The sad part is Hyperfocus is still problematic, I legitimately think toolboxes are the biggest reason why the perk destroys gens, getting a bunch of skill checks early because of the toolbox skillcheck bonus supercharges hyperfocus.

I really like Stakeout and hate to see it being in this state because of another perk.

That sounds like a bug, the first rummage should be the Pharmacy rummage but a second one should use an Appraisal token.

Yea I agree and already reported it in the main thread with video, but just trying to bring more attention to it so it doesn't slip through.

  • The biggest issue with Pharmacy right now is that when paired with Appraisal it let's you double rummage every chest without losing Appraisal tokens. A full swf with coins and keys can get a lot of Specialist tokens and permanently reduce a lot of gen progress.

The rationale for why they made this change in the dev notes makes sense for why it was Stakeout which got hit and not Hyperfocus.

Dev Note: Previously Stake Out put a limitation on design space, removing any difficulty from great Skill Checks.

I really appreciate dev notes like this as it makes total sense when you read it. They're not just trying to fix Hyperfocus/Stakeout, they're trying to prevent Stakeout from trivializing any future perks which have Great Skill Check activation requirements. Without doing this, any time they want to make another perk with a strong effect like Hyperfocus, they have to balance it around Stakeout.

I really think the better route would making Stakeout give "Special Great Skillchecks" that could be used on weaker perks like Fogwise and Road Life.

The Perk as it is in the PTB is already weak having to stay within 24 meters of a killer while they have a terror radius and not in chase is too strict in my opinion. While the benefits are kinda weak anyway.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't biased though. I really enjoyed using it with Fogwise and seeing that combo gone is disappointing.

  • At least from my testing Pharmacy and Apprasal are bugged together, you can rummage all chest twice without losing tokens. I don't think it would be an issue in a solo setting, but it seems exploitable by more cordinated players with the perk Specialist, coin offerings and keys.

The video has no sound, but I wanted to show the bug.

  • I used to be able to just put the link in and the video would show up in the post, but it does not seem to work. sorry guys it's gonna be just a link.

  • noooooooooo, I posted in the wrong spot, and can't delete.

I love that BHVR inform more and listen much more to the playerbase than before. I just don't understand why they did not listen this time.

Clown was mostly FINE before this update. Now he's not.

I imagine them rolling back so many killer changes in the past few updates has management cracking down and demanding results. I can't imagine the amount of dev bandwidth that was wasted on some really weird changes, the higher ups are probably wondering why they are spending money these changes just to undo them.

Them just pushing it through for the sake of it is the old BHVR I know, and I hate it.

Coming back to this thread to confirm that, yes, the team pushed a fix for this issue today, which lowers the required quests for these cumulative quests. As an important note, you'll likely need to play one match in order for these in-game quest values to update.

Thank you for this. Hearing from previous post that I had to do every challenge left a day before the rift ends was not what I wanted to hear. I do like hearing this though. :)

sorry for the double post, but just checked now it seems they lowered the requirement to 36 challenges. Thanks BHVR for making it right.

heres what support said for me:

The Completion Quests previously did count toward each other but this wasn't intended and it's fixed now and that's why it seems like your quest count is frozen in place. It'll remain at this number until you truly reach and surpass 44 Quests that count towards the completion of it. If you progress on the other quests that you still have available to do, you'll be able to progress this one and complete it, receiving the reward.

    thanks a lot bhvr

finding this out the day before the rift ends is truly disapointing. I had contacted BHVR a week ago and heard no response after I sent them the files they said they needed. Is their response to the ticket gonna be tough luck, better luck next rift?

I think I managed to get what would be considerd normal gameplay.

    some things to note though

Wesker Had Thrilling and Grim Embrace

Meg was the last stack of grim

I did not touch the eastern gen because of Thrilling

I could not do any gen when Grim Activated.

Me and Sheva were second stage and did not want to trade with meg; or farm her for that matter.

I know the crow did not make a big deal, but considering I feel the play I did was nessesary it feels like I should not have gotten one. This is more for education purposes, because I had a tough time not forcing the crows.

I know it's long, but I feel it paints a better picture, if you guys have any complaints feel free to discuss what I did wrong me as well.

It works well enough with Reactivate Healing.

Thats interesting. You would think that they all would remove blood or they all wouldn't.

The inconsistency makes it a little frustrating for me.

It hides blood and should hide blood. I mean if it didn’t like obviously the killer would not fall for it. Not that they really do now, but… lol. It’d be another completely useless survivor perk if it didn’t hide blood. It doesn’t hide sounds though and you can still figure out if it was used by whether you hear them in the locker

The whole point of the removing scratch marks is to make it harder for the killer to see it is fake. The perk would be useless when injured if you just left a blood trail. The description does need to be updated, though.

But dance with me, poised, and distortion don't hide blood. Those perk effects are rendered obsolete when injured.

  • @HectorBrando said:

Reading the perk description I think the way it works now is the intended one, its very specific about "heal the equivalent of a health state" if you heal someone as two you are only healing half a health state.

This is kinda my point too. we could get technical about most perks; why does deception hide blood when the perk doesn't mention it?
