  • As of right now EAC doesn't check the icons folder for tampering and so you should be fine using them but it will always be a risk if EAC suddenly changes. I personally dislike EAC heavily because it's a shotty and flawed anti-cheat that will allow hundreds of cheaters to play the game but will ban people for false reasons. As for the devs and moderators though they don't care about custom icons and aren't looking to ban anyone for it at all.

  • Facecamping sucks when it's not endgame and the killer has no reason to other than having very little skill but if the rest of your team is actually smart and plays it right they can punish the killer super hard and leave him with 1 kill and almost no bloodpoint gain. If someone is facecamping then they will almost always get a kill guaranteed so rushing the hook and trying to save when there are still 4-5 gens left just slows the game down and allows for the killer to go from 1 kill to 2 or more. Instead of this, survivors should do generators which if done right can get at least 3 generators done in the time it takes for one survivor to die. Of course I'm not saying that facecamping is good or should be done by any means but if your team knows how to counter it at the very least you can punish the killer heavily for doing so.

  • Others have said, and I agree, that status icons would probably be the best way, I'd recommend some sort of quick-chat as well so that you can alert your team of things and what you're doing.

As for the games turning out better there's no real way for the devs to make that happen since the game is so reliant on the fact that the 4 survivors must work together in some way since its a 4v1. It's like how sometimes you'll be playing and loop the killer for a long time and no generators will be done, but when you're hooked you see that the other survivors are crouching around the map, breaking totems, and hiding in lockers. There's no real way to prevent people from doing that without making SWF crazy overpowered, and that's where the issue really lies. I can guarantee you playing with at least two friends makes the game 500% more fun in most cases because you can communicate with your team properly and don't have people doing stupid stuff like sitting in lockers or all rushing the first downed guy and dying immediately, you can also let them know "Hey, don't heal me, I have Resilience!" instead of a default Dwight main chasing you through the entire map trying to heal you making you stop running 106 different times.

In other words, there's honestly not a lot that can be done regarding solo-q and making people be smart about their plays because even if the status icons and some form of quick-chat was added there's no guarantee that some people wouldn't just ignore it completely which would make any change useless. Addressing it in some way is better than doing nothing though so I hope that the devs can at least try to implement something in the very near future.

  • No offense to you at all but I don't think this would be a good fix nor do I think it would ever be added. Nurse is one of the few killers that are slower than survivors without her power and making the blink ability only able to activate during chase would make her nearly unplayable as it would be so easy to avoid a chase due to her slow nature. Ok well what if we changed her speed to at least 4.4m/s? Then she becomes absolutely broken because not only would she be able to still teleport during chases but also her big drawback, the skill curve that she currently has, would be largely removed because she would function as a normal M1 killer on top of that.

  • The issue I've found is punishing campers / tunnelers also punishes more "legit" strategies. I mean if sitting next to the hook for a certain amount of time is punished then survivors can bomb rush the hook and punish the killer for trying to down them, if focusing on the most recently hooked survivor is punished then people can make idiotic plays and still come out on top so long as they already have went down.

Also I say more "legit" because they still are legit strategies, just annoying and toxic most of the time.

  • I only stay when it benefits me BP wise.

If I have a flashlight I'll stay for one last blind (especially if BPS are active.) Or if someone needs heals then I will. Other than that I pretty much always leave if everyone else is already there.

  • @jesterkind said:

Might've been the Onryo's power - if the Condemned meter (the little segmented bar on your portrait icon) fills up all the way, she gets to mini-mori you like Pyramid Head.

You make that meter go back down by running to the highlighted TV and interacting with it.

I think it was this and a combination of her addons that made it happen, thank you!

  • The way I see it is just play to win. You aren't there to make sure the other players have fun, that's the job of the devs, if survivors are bomb-rushing the hook as soon as you hook somebody it isn't 'camping' to attack them, it makes sense, just like how it isn't tunneling if someone overestimates their abilities and decides to do things in plain sight right after being hooked.

Don't get me wrong, I'm in no way saying you should just stare at one survivor on the hook until they die or run past other survivors and generators to re-hook someone, that's a bad way to play and against a competent team will result in you losing every single time, but some people will tend to expect killers to immediately rush to the other side of the map as soon as they hook someone just so their game is 'fun' and 'fair,' when the same type of people to do this are the ones who will be as toxic as possible whenever they can towards the killer and actively try to make the killers game not fun.
