I'm a Killer main, but played more Survivor this week and what I found out is, that at rank 10-4 Killers mostly use "cheap" tactics. What I mean is the use of tunneling and heavy defense play with the use of late game one shot perks and Add-Ons. So they secure at least 2 kills every game. For newer survivors this kind of gameplay is way too hard, because they get tempted to rescue and save others instead of just finishing the gens, while the killer is too busy guarding. The problem here is, that those killers get results with it and get 4k's on a regular basis and most of the time get their 1-2 kills, even if they played bad. They won't get up in ranks with that, but neither will they rank down. As a killer it is easy to get to rank 10, but then many don't get the great results anymore and fall back to those tactics where they get at least some kills. And yeah, survivors rank up easy, too. That is probably why you came into the range of killers who play as dirty as possible.
I know, that this playstyle is no fun for anyone, but it is effective to weed out the survivors who are not careful enough, who are inexperienced or who are too altruistic. To get around that, you have to let it happen and just do your objectives. If your teammates still run in a camping Leatherface, they made a mistake. If no one does that, the killer will either learn that this doesn't work or he will close his eyes, flame the survivors for gen rushing and try to fish for the next inexperienced survivors.
It is harsh for the one or two, who were picked up, but it is the best way to punish the killer (he is not getting more and he will downrank).
Of course, you have to work on your mechanics, too. After spending the week close to only playing survivor, it was easier to loop the killer, to plan your route through windows and pallets and sometimes to even win the chase by either getting away or the killer loses interest in you. Stealth is your best weapon, though. A killer that doesn't find a survivor most of the time panics and becomes sloppy. It sucks for the who will get cought, because of high risk of camping, but winning is easier.
I rambled too much.
Conclusion: It is probably the tactics used by the killers, not that they are too strong. A bad killer can 4k against a group where all try to help all the time, especially when doing anything to secure kills. -
I learned playind the doc by watching him:

I'm a killer main, but I haven't played many different Killers, yet. Like one tricked everyone I can name
(Clown)
1.Pig (Love to appear in faces)
2.Doctor (Zap zap zap, Laugh while watching the survivor try to climb over something)
3.Huntress (My first love)
4.Trapper (I can't stop laughing every time someone steps into a trap)
5. Leatherface (Boring) -
I love to play as the clown.
It is fun to herd the survivors to where you want to or you get a free hit because they run through your gas. I can't say if he is really that good, because every game that looked good, 2-4 survivors quit the game. I had only one game where more than 2 could flee. Then I saw he got a buff and oh what jolly good fun that will be in the future. -
With the famous words of Bricky: "The game is played how you want to play it. No made up honor code, no fake rules. If people hate you it's probably because you won and honestly... good job at winnin'."

The clown. He laughs when getting stunned by pallets like he doesn't care.

I don't know if I can agree. The nurse is the hardest to learn and has a big advantage but I think most Survivors are just bad against her, because they have to play way differently than against any other killer. Anyone having perks good for stealth and go around carefuly and play to get out of sight and hide can lose the nurse or let her waste time finding you again. But most survivors brute force their way through the killer and the gens which doesn't work against the nurse. Stealth is the biggest weapon against her.
