  • DBD matchmaking is already bad enough with long wait times for games and poor rank matching. Imagine how long you would have to wait in order to find 4 survivors of unique roles who are close to each other in rank...

As others have said, it's an idea that simply wouldn't be viable for DBD.

I can literally apply that logic to every other survivor character.

As far as Claudettes or whatever that like to self care or be super sneaky, all of this can be based on the fact she has the darkest clothing, so people who like to stealth play her that way, or beginners play her, because she's a beginner character, and hiding around and self caring in corners is sort of what newbies do.

Hell, I'm not a newbie and I'll self care in the corner if the situation at least calls for it. Except I don't waste up to 32 seconds, because Botany is bae.

Well good for you, I guess? I was just sharing my personal experiences...

  • I'm biased because I'm a Claudette main, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I personally believe that Claudette's have an excessively bad reputation. I certainly get it; there are plenty of Claudette's who are either too self-centered and only care about protecting their purple flashlight or getting an easy hatch escape. There are also Claudettes who will spend 32 seconds in the corner of the map healing themselves multiple times per match, and contribute nothing towards generator repairs or any other team objective.

At the same time, I also believe that some Claudette's are extremely valuable team players, who are capable of wasting the killers time via looping and immersion. There are also some Claudette's that are essentially the medic of the team when they bring med kits and botany knowledge.

I do understand your frustration with the character though. I'm trying to catch up on bloodwebs on my other characters SPECIFICALLY because a large portion of the community seems to feel the same as you, both survivors and killers alike.

  • This whole post has to be bait. OP literally says "ย I don't promote camping" when in literally his previous comment says "I'm bringing Bubba and camping IS a strategy w him whether you like it or not."

As stated by others, Whispers is in a healthy state currently. It's literally a killer's version of Spine Chill, which is an incredibly useful and severely underrated survivor perk IMO. There's no need to buff a detection perk that already has great utility as is.

  • My bad, I hadn't realized you made this joke already! Didn't mean to steal! Must be in another thread that I missed?

  • lol so are you quitting this game or not ๐Ÿ˜‚

"The gameplay has been the same for upwards of 3 years with little to no change except EGC."

Some very fundamental things have changed. If we went back to some of the 2016 stuff, you guys would freak out! :D

Totems (and therefore Hex Perks) did not exist until the Hag shipped. Hook sabotage used to be permanent (man I can't even imagine what that must have been like).

There are other fundamentals that have changed. The EGC is certainly more obvious a change as it's really in your face, but many less obvious things have changed that greatly impacted the general play of the game.

    :)

I love how this entire thread regards the price of cosmetics, and yet we have Devs replying to the sole comment regarding something totally unrelated to the cosmetics.

They clearly don't see the price of cosmetics as an issue. As much as I'd love to see changes to how cosmetics are bought/obtained, I believe that this comment alone shows that they simply pick and choose what player concerns to listen to, and are perfectly content charging an arm an a leg for an outfit.

  • Looks like your English Depipped rather than your survivor rank...๐Ÿ™„

If I pipped I don't really care about escaping if everyone left. If killer didn't had enough hooks or people dc'ed/escaped I would rather have him hook me if I did good. Why not? I like to make people happy if they were not toxic.

Fair enough, makes sense! I would've never considered pointing at a hook before. Thanks for the input!

  • @Shaped said:

Sometimes when I know I pipped or I had good game, I let the killer kill me by pointing towards the hook. Same goes when I am the killer, usually I let two people go when I am certain I pipped. Rarely 3.

Definitely understand your reasoning, but wouldn't it just be better to take your 4000/5000 Survival bloodpoints and leave? After all, killers already earn more than survivors (or at least they do before 3.1.0), so the last hook really wouldn't be that great of a benefit to anyone? I don't know, maybe I'm thinking too selfishly?

I usually give them my item, if i have one, as a token of my gratitude, otherwise i crouch and stare at the killer with my dead eyes ๐Ÿ‘€

Thanks for the response, I appreciate your insight!

I would give the item if they are gray ratings, not like I have 15+ gray medkits with all my characters....

Totally fair, I wouldn't mind sacrificing any brown/yellow item. But if I get lucky and find a skeleton key or a rainbow map w/Plunderers... idk. I guess that is super situational anyways, since the chance of both the killer purposely letting me live and me finding a high rarity item isn't very high.

I feel bad every time a survivor does that.

"No take it back! Don't waste that perfectly good med kit!"

This is how I feel too, but as a survivor! I run plunderers after rank resets to hoard high rarity items and I feel like dropping the item before you leave somewhat defeats the purpose. I wonder, would it be acceptable to drop the item, look up and down or point at them, and quickly scoop it back up before you leave?

  • @OMagic_ManO said:

Looking up and down really does the job, nodding to them up in their face, Killers see it as a friendly gesture. Messaging them does work but t-bagging or just spam crouching doesn't do it really, it feels like the Survivor is making fun of you for letting them go. Nodding is top tier.

Thanks for the advice! I knew I was likely insulting the killer by double crouching, despite that not being my intention.
