  • Tbf some teams just manage it almost perfectly that as soon as you have hooked the first person, this is exactly the ONLY person you always find first for the rest of the game.

Maybe it is more of a solo q thing because people in those trials just can't communicate to agree on things like "you try to take chase next because you're the only one left with 0 hooks".

There's only three I know of.

    Knight: zmpixie

    Xenomorph: Mr. Headache

    Sadako: one pump willie

Also, Pixel Bush, although he's primarily a lore guy, is also apparently cracked on Skull Merchant and knows a lot about how to bring out the most of her potential.

I think not too long ago, Hens did a showcase of the "worst killers" where two killer mains of Trapper, Skull Merchant and Ghostface went against premade swfs to find out which killer can do best overall.

And Jesus Christ, PixelBush's Skull Merchant gameplay was INSANE. The way he uses her drones is something to behold. So yeah, he might be THE Skull Merchant main.

  • Twins including some absolutely insane macro knowledge (where you go "Like how did she anticipate/know this?") combined with funny AND impressive Victor snipes, there's only one answer:

    Lynxi.

And probably the most cracked Bubba with almost absurd chainsaw flicks:

    Epidemy.

  • Hag.

She just needs to get some form of a rework which makes her more viable in today's gameplay loop.

Maybe switch the jumpscare for a more cursing/tormenting killer power (her traps curse the survivors with Broken, Oblivious, Hindered or whatever) which forces survivors to play a second objective to dispel themselves.

A few years ago I would have understood that a thing like that would be impossible when you still could swap killers in the lobby but right now this should perfectly be possible to implement in the game as a toggle option.

If you enable it you can't face the same killer back to back. If you don't care that you go against Jason or new Killer XY for the 49292 time in a row then leave the option disabled but please give others a chance to face a different killer. I even take a Ghoul.

I get the idea and thought about this multiple times as well. Something like a veto option or whatever. Personally I would rather face Nurse or Blight over Legion or Wesker any day as an example.

But the issues it would cause would completely outweigh any benefit it maybe could bring.

    • queue times would get horrendous; like 2v8 solo killer horrendous for basic 1v4 games - or even worse
    • killers who are considered unfun by large portions of the community would probably go extinct because of the first issue with queue times
    • the player base is very diverse and has very diverse understanding of fun; if you play solo q survivor and each of the four people has the option enabled and it counts for 4 different killers, then…well let's just say I don't think the game and the queues could handle that adequately…

So no. It is probably not the best idea to implement such a feature.

  • There's a simple trick to avoid the issues with new overtuned killers - which seems to be the case especially for licensed ones (what might be the reason here…). It actually could be considered a pro tip, so don't tell too many people. It is a trick I use since the release of Ghoul:

Don't play survivor the first one or two weeks after the new killer is released. If it needs to be DbD at all, play killer. Read a nice book while being in the queue for 10 minutes.

This allows you to achieve the following advantages:

    • your mental state stays on a proper level
    • you do not have to deal with people in your teams who are done with the new killer after 2 days and throw, dc or troll to make everyone's experience even more miserable
    • you won't get completely overstimulated, frustrated and bored at the same time because 90% of your matches are against the same killer and end in a massacre - with this you actually somewhat keep your fun with going against them in the long term (I started playing shortly after Wesker got released and I can tell you one thing: I absolutely despise him to this very day and there has never been any game with a Wesker involved which was close to something called fun)
  • Big thanks for this.

I thought I am tripping and/or blind when I registered a few days ago and could not find any option to set an avatar.

  • I am at the point where I compare Jason to a mixture of Wraith and Huntress.

As Wraith can be in his power indefinitely, the comparison makes sense to me.

But is it a good decision regarding gameplay that Jason can do this as well? No. I think it would be better if you tweak this power more into the direction of Spirit and her phasewalk.

  • I disagree.

The old system was alright, but some archives are so absurd, that you basically need to go completely out of your way to achieve them. That paired with solo q and you are in for a frustrating disaster.

The other thing is that you mainly get bp for archives as well. Yes, there were little charms at the end of each page of the tome, but the main reward is bp.

Same for quests. The main reward is bp. And now you have badges and banners instead of charms on certain steps.

And tbh, for rewards of this basic "quality" I don't want to "Take 3 protection hits in one trial as David King while having No Mither equipped and hiding in a locker when the last gen gets finished and escape the trial".

It feels more natural that you progress with just playing the game itself.
