You fail to mention survivors who crawl away and hide to bleed out willingly because they feel if they bleed out, you didn't "win." This is on the same level and no one ever discusses that.

I had a match where the last two unhooked out front of me, I downed one and went for the other and when I came back to pick him up...I couldn't find this person anywhere. I was upset because I didn't want to wait for a bleed out. When I messaged after being like "hey man why waste our time." He was insistent I didn't 4k, because he "bled out" which you know = dying..which = not surviving, which = killer won. But no one ever talks about that being a waste of killer's time. It's always "the killer wasted my time bleeding me out." That door swings both ways. I have an actual life, I don't wanna play a little bleed out game, because a surv can't take an L.

I doubt most survivors consider bleeding out a win.

Most probably do it because they are bored. They're ready to be picked up, with nothing to do for up to 4 minutes.

Sometimes they moved because they are trying to meet up with the last person in a safe area. They are not going to crawl back to where you downed them because their plan to get picked up failed.

Sometimes they just crawled to some corner and tabbed out to watch some Youtube to punish you for wasting their time. You made them wait for you to secure your 4K, so now they are making you stay in the game till they bleed out.

Sometimes you're the 5th killer of the night to slug them for an extended period of time. Even with Unbreakable, it only works once.

You have no obligation other than courtesy to pick them up, hook, and let them go next. At the same time they have no obligation other than courtesy to make it easy for you to find their body.

It's much easier to just aim for the 3K, and see 4K as being a bonus. My games as killer have been faster and much more enjoyable with that mindset.

Tunneling and camping occurs in MOST (not all) cases because of the gen rush problem. It's literally a reaction to a current action that is not being addressed. Bhvr can't help that their community is toxic (apparently) but they know they've set everyone who isn't a SWF group up for failure and refuse to correct it.

Killers will continue to tunnel and camp as long as gens fly the way they do. Survivors bringing perks for whatever fun little build they wanna try vs. killers having to bring multiple gen regression perks and hope they help...sounds balanced.

Ironically, gen rushing is also the best way to counter tunneling and camping killers.

Doing gens is also the only productive thing survivors can do if the killer ignores them and decides to tunnel someone out. You can take a few hits for your team, but after that, it's just back to doing gens quickly before the killer decides you're the next survivor they want to tunnel (but with less pallets available on the map).

For camping killers, same deal. What else can survivors do? Only inexperienced survivors would get off of a gen early to try and rescue hook. Best play is to "gen rush" till the last second and try to trade hooks before the teammate goes into the next hook stage. Exception being, Bubba or any other fast downing killers. Just hope the person on hook is a team player, and do gens fast as possible and get out.

For slugging killers, do gens until teammate is ready to be picked up. Pick up, and do gens without wasting time healing. No point in healing till endgame if they're not going to hook. Time is better spent doing gens and just rotate when you hear them coming.

Chicken egg situation. The community will never come up with viable solutions. Some tried, and that's how we got those survivor/ killer rulebook memes (which spawns its own toxic arguments on these forums).

Devs have to make core changes to their game's mechanics. Until then, people are going to do what is allowed to secure their win.

This EULA update is fully planned and there's no issue with you accepting this.

I definitely understand your concerns but can assure you that this is a fully planned implementation.

This is exactly what I wanted to hear.

Thank you for the response, Mandy.

    Cheers!

  • @Green_Sliche said:

Yes. Doubt it will suddenly wipe your progress though.

*Tried to edit last response and accidentally deleted it.

Yes, accepting the EULA wouldn't wipe my progress, but if I did lose my progress, the EULA would be the first thing I see.

I just wanted to see if other people had the EULA pop up for them today as well.

I got it, with a complementary small heart atack.

    Everything was fine, though.

    This person gets it!

I've had things wiped twice before due some error, and having to do it a third time would ruin me.

Thank you for the response. Time to be brave and log in.

Yes. Doubt it will suddenly wipe your progress though.

    So you got it today?

Just making sure. I know accepting the EULA wouldn't wipe my stuff, but if my stuff was wiped, the EULA would be the first thing I see.

I just wanted to be sure other people had the EULA pop up for them today as well.

    Thanks for the reply.

  • @OneGoodBoyDemo Nothing would change for you if you bring cake. You'll have as much cake as before, even more since this would encourage people to not hoard it.

@KingFieldShipper I could complain about gen rushing, camping and tunneling if you'd like. I don't understand the second part of your comment.

Let me clarify. If players 1-4 bring cake and player 5 doesn't. Players 1-4 would get 4 x 107% bonus BP for bringing cake. Player 5 gets none. Nothing else changes, just how the bonus is applied.

The motivation for this post was from a conversation I recently had with a couple of friends who used to play DBD. The anniversary event came up, it reminded us of all the obnoxious games we had during the past anniversary events. We can't be the only ones to notice an uptick of hackers and trolling during the anniversary events.

There is no negatives for people who plan to earn and use their cakes. It only negatively impacts players who plan to mooch off of other player's cake offerings.

  • Usually I'm on the toilet and Reddit has nothing but Karma farming posts. Then I come here.

Not on the toilet right now, came to see the Q&A stream reactions.

  • Sandbag Mode:

4v1 the objective is to be the last remaining survivor.

Gens do not power exit gates, instead it is the ONLY way you can heal (Self Care rates). Once the Gens are "done", no more healing from that particular one. Failed skill checks obviously set you back on your heal progress.

Opens up the game where Killers don't feel so lonely anymore, because betraying your fellow survivors is the best way to win.

Killers near hooks will bleed BP, which in turn will be given to the survivor on the hook. Unhooking people will increase the BP you earn significantly or perhaps you earn a key to open chests for items.

Crows appear on immersed survivors much more quickly, and stays with them significantly longer.

Survivor Vote option to end game, incase the Killer decides to slug and hold game hostage.

It eliminates a lot of the elements people hate about the game.

    Mystery Mode:

All perks, items and addons are randomly assigned to Killers and Survivors.

Eliminates the whole META problem. Just a goofy mode where you let RNGesus determine your fate.

Part of the fun would be ending up with "No Mither" and "For the People" in one game, and perhaps a full META build in another.

Training Mode: <---At the very least this one!

No bot AI. It can be 4 Dwights in T poses for all I care.

Just a mode where we can practice Killer powers, practice efficient looping with a survivor or explore the maps. It's starting to get annoying when people ask you to join a KYF game because they want to try something out on a new killer build.

  • What Angelicus23 says is true.

I usually only lurk, but this issue needs to be addressed ASAP!

This happened to me a while back. Game crashed one day. Verified game files, reinstalled Easy Cheat, and loaded it back up. Everything progress wise was gone. All prestige, all character levels, all items and perks gone. Customer Service was nice, but their hands were tied by management. I was absolutely livid.

The going compensation is 60K Blood Points/ hour you have logged into the game. That's it. A simple google search will reveal this is no secret..

=== Filler stuff of my experience===

I lost so much progress, because I played more during Anniversary, Blood point events, BP offerings, and I always used WGLF and BBQ. All that grinding gone.

What's worse, it took me almost 6 HOURS total to spend the blood points. I tried to take it easy, leveled a character up and tried to play and occasionally spend my BP. Then I hit the 1 million BP cap. So I was basically forced to sit at the blood web for hours to spend all the compensated BP. I also had to do it in a certain order because there were more character perks now, and I didn't want to flood the blood web with garbage perks. I had to secure my mains first.

After I spent all the compensated BP, I was nowhere near where I was in terms of character levels. It took me months, almost half a year worth of playing to even get close to where I was.

    ===End of personal anecdote===

If any BHVR staff reads this, I implore you to try this. Spend 100 million BP on the blood web in your own game. See how long and painful it is. Now imagine being a paying consumer for that experience as opposed to being paid to endure that nonsense. Why do perks still have tiers?

This issue needs to be priority 1 for BHVR. More resources need to be allotted to a reliable back up of our progress. It is absolutely unacceptable they were unable to even pull up what progress I made on their end. It's 2021, data storage is cheap!

I would have happily taken a rollback in my progress from a month prior, but nope. They evidently do not keep backup data of any kind. Either that or they were unwilling to help me aside for the paltry sum of Blood Points. Are the Blood Points backed by gold or something? Why compound your consumer's stress by being stringy with the compensation?

I'm not angry at you BHVR, just disappointed.

  • IF the game is going to be balanced around SWF...

    TL;DR===========

Simple solution: Make "KINDRED" a passive perk granted to SoloQ survivors.

It gives a lot of the most important information SWF has access to SoloQ players don't have access to. It's already in the game, and there is no danger of the community trolling each other by spamming voice/ text commands (because we all know that's going to happen). And most importantly it doesn't directly affect Survivor to Killer interaction. If you are not good at looping, Kindred is not going to help you.

    /TL;DR==========

Personally, I'm stuck with this perk because without it becomes a huge leap of faith of where and what my team is doing. Do I risk leaving the person on the hook hoping that someone else will save them, or do I leave my gen and run across the whole map only to find that another survivor is now racing against me for the unhook. That's 3, possibly all 4 survivors not doing an objective.

It would also somewhat remedy the camping situation. Unless the killer brings "Insidious" survivors would know that the killer is camping. Less incentive for killers to camp, but if they choose to, they know that we know. I always run Kindred, and the success rate of camping killers is still high. So it's not really op. Usually ends up in a trade or I get downed if person with no BT unhooks me.

With Kindred I see a lot of weird stuff. Teammates using "self care" just 20 meters away from each other while someone is on hook. 2 people leaving their gens to crouch walk a mile towards the hooked when the killer is nowhere near them. A survivor looping the killer around the hooked because they don't know that there is another survivor nearby waiting for the chance to safely unhook.

Unfortunately, most of the survivors I see don't run Kindred so despite their "meta" or "meme" builds they end up wasting a lot of time doing nothing because they don't know what everyone else is doing. As soon as someone is hooked, it snowballs. Especially with killers like Freddy and proxy camping Spirit.

When I get stomped as a killer against a Twitch survivor, sometimes I'll go on their channel and view the match from their perspective to see where I can improve. When they are playing with one or more friends, the amount of information they have access to is astounding. It's not even the same game. They always know where I am as killer, they are always ready for an efficient flashlight/ body blocking/Sabo save, and they always have access to one another for quick heals. That's a lot of perks they don't have to take to stay informed and safe, leaving room for those other more "fun" perks. I noticed most of the streamers I went against weren't as good as I thought they were or they themselves think. They just had room for multiple second chance perks because they didn't need Kindred or Spine Chill to know where everyone was.

Point is, none of these stuff are possible with SoloQ + Kindred passive. The most irritating tactics of SWF are still exclusive to discord SWF. I just wished us SoloQ had Kindred so we at least knew what other people are doing when one of us is hooked and not waste so much time. As an added bonus if we all knew we can see each other during a hook, we can use the existing hand motions with one another to communicate.

SWF can take it if they want, but it'll take up a perk slot.
