As much as I find DS annoying, it does help against the tunneling.
agreed, aggravating but essential.

Just play killer for a bit. It's old advice, but it helps. Unfortunately, a lot of the perks are hidden behind paywalls unless you luck out and you have the shards/have the perk in the shrine.
-
The only way to stop tunnel is to create a more efficient option for the killer to get kills/win in general. As it stands, it's just good tactics to tunnel/camp. If it's successful, you remove a asset to the survivors and slow them down, or at least bait others into getting hit. For certain killers (looking at you, Trapper) tunneling and camping are simply just the best way to bring the survs to you instead of hoping they don't just circumvent your traps or loop you into the dirt.

Nice that the comments says that one trashy E tier perk (breakdown) can counter a camper who could just get the survivor to another hook...
And no camping itself is not a penalty, because we play games for fun, not to be camped by sweaty russian kids...
But alot of people don't see a problem with it!?
The killers play the game for fun, too. Unfortunately, the path to fun for the survivors and the killers are two different directions- like two cars destined for a head-on collision. As a killer main, I can only tolerate so many 0k games and toxic survs before I resort to devious means to get my kills.
-
I'll be honest, I usually get pretty pissy about 4E games, unless it's a quick in-and-out without toxic behaviors, or if they just really, really earned it. I'll admit, for the moment as I'm leveling the deathslinger and don't have a lot of perks to choose from, it's usually just bad match-ups.

I think it's a mental thing. Console Killers see PC survivors, think "Uh oh, PC players, they're going to have an advantage and make my life miserable." And then they play funky.

Freddy. I've never won against a Freddy.

I suppose OP doesn't know that you can pull survivors around loops with low walls
Er, I should probably rephrase: walls low enough to see them/nix mindgames, but high enough to snag the chain/break chain before you make it around the loop. like, the crates on the Macmillan map don't get me that much, but the rocks on the halloween map do.

One the one hand, yeah, on the other hand, sounds like matchmaking's been rough for them and they're new with the killer. Rant all you want, OP :)
Most of the time, it's the spacing that gets me.

You are not alone in feeling this way <3
Thanks, I appreciate the kind words!

Yeah, if you could expound on your statement, OP, that would be great.

Maybe that's why people play Freddy- he flips the script. With Freddy, he puts survs on the time clock. Suddenly, they're the ones under pressure, and you can perk up and kick back as you ramp in power while they scramble to escape before you go ape. Same thing with Myers to a degree: you bide your time and creep on them until you go super saiyan.

Neat idea but you know how some people will react...I can already hear deafening screeching by some people if god forbid trapper got a 2 trap base capacity for example ;-)
Or if they made them stand out just a tiny bit less! Oh, that would be heavenly!

That's not the point. I would say anyone is going to fear the killer tunneling them out of the game, especially through BT/DS. But it's just so ridiculous to get hit by those perks unintentionally. I have adapted a playstyle of no mercy because I recognize how powerful well played survivors can be. It only takes a few games of diverting from it to realize why that happened. So i'd love this post to be something people can see and undertand why killers play the way they do.
I agree, we're kinda forced to use a-hole tactics a lot if we're meant to get 4k, especially the killers that don't have much in the way of kit.
