Every match tonight my character has been making noise as if Iron Will was not one of my perks. New bug? It wasn’t doing this yesterday.

Have the killers been using Stridor? I thought it might've been a bug too a while back, but turns out that Stridor does this weird thing where it makes it sound like Iron Will is only at like tier 2 instead of being tier 3 from the survivor's side, so if the killer is using Stridor then that's what might be happening here.

How fast was the gen completed? I know that when a Gen is completed quickly at the start of the trial the game may have trouble updating properly.

I mean, there were three survivors on it, but I can't give a specific timeframe as to when it might've been completed. I've had a gen pop with four survivors on it at once in the beginning of the trial numerous times in the past, but I've never seen a visual glitch like this. Could be the case though, I'm not sure.

    Platform: Steam

Description: I logged in (a few days ago...) and to my surprise found I owned several DLC character I did not have the previous day: Ace+Hag, Feng+Doctor, Quentin+Freddy, Kate+Clown, Spirit, Jane, Cheryl, Deathslinger, Oni, Ghostface, Leatherface, Laurie+Michael. That's a lot of DLC. I'm able to play as these characters, when I log out and return they're still there, and I'm able to level their bloodweb and unlock their teachables. But I did not purchase them.

Steps to reproduce: Before we went into lockdown again, my friend would come over and we'd play Dead by Daylight on MY computer logged into HIS steam account. Characters he purchased using real money from the Steam store (all buggy unlocks are listed above, they match what he has purchased and what I did not have) are now shared with me (although they weren't immediately after purchasing, this is a relatively recent bug).

How often does this occur: Every time I log in they're still there.

hi! PC player here, happened to me as well. I emailed the Dead by Daylight support team about this a month ago, and they told me that this was a glitch that affected numerous players along with the cosmetics glitch. they said that it’s okay, obviously nothing is your fault, and they said that I was free to play with the characters while I had them. I asked them about putting bloodpoints into the characters (I’m a rank 3 survivor with level 1 characters), and they said I’m free to do so as long as I’m aware that I won’t be compensated for the bloodpoints I use, and there’s no guarantee I’ll keep the perks in the end.

    tl;dr: don’t worry about it, it’s been acknowledged! <3

  • I noticed this on Haddonfield as well, but maybe it's not really a bug and it's just a small change they made somewhere along the way? It's definitely annoying, but I'm wondering if maybe this is just something they changed and just didn't state it.

  • PC player here. Playing a round against the Spirit, I noticed her noise being bugged when phasing as well. She was very clearly phasing, as she wasn't moving and I could hear her as if she were simply walking around me outside of her phase walk ability, then she pops up somewhere else (due to the phase-walking). This is a horrible bug for her, because as stated previously this definitely takes away from her mind-gaming ability. An experienced survivor could 100% use this to their advantage, because they'd know when she's near on pallet loops, etc. more so than they would simply hearing that airy 'whoosh' noise that's usually made when she's phasing, so you can't really mind-game them and whack 'em at a loop. I really do hope this gets fixed.

My logs keep coming out Chinese, so I don't exactly know if I can put them here with it coming out right ?? I'll try and be really descriptive.

This is the first time I have ever encountered this, but it was very strange. I was playing against a Blight as Feng Min on the Blood Lodge map (if that really makes a difference?), and we had 2 gens left. I was repairing the second to last gen when it suddenly disconnected me and came up with, "SERVER - Match lost connection" or something like that. It said the killer dc'd and I escaped, and I was then given a 5-minute dc penalty for something beyond my control. I hope this doesn't happen again, as that was incredibly annoying. I really hope this gets fixed, but as I said before, this was the first time I've ever encountered this.

Was the killer running Stridor? Stridor works in a very weird way and the survivors will also hear themselves breathing louder, and even grunting in pain if they have Iron Will.

Ooh, she might've been if that's the case. I'll have to pay attention to that next time!

  • @trixsterjl said:

How is no Terror radius not a priority issue. It is a core game mechanic. Killers without it have a huge advantage and no downside since they dont have to play stealthers that have build in tradeoffs.

Exactly! That needs to be fixed, because it’s completely messing me up. A lot of Leatherface players have been abusing the bug because you don’t even know they’re there until after the chainsaw already starts (as someone previously stated). I really hope they fix it soon.

  • PC player here - I played Huntress yesterday in the Midwich Elementary School twice, and both times the music kept cutting out at random times but only for short periods of time. I thought something was wrong with my game, but I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one.

  • Update 2: Iron Will is broken as well. I have it equipped at tier 3, and I still make noise when injured.

  • @GeorgeMRusso said:

This is happening on switch as well but the whole game seems more quiet overall

I personally haven’t noticed much of a change in the game noise in general, but it could be platform dependent ? I know it’ll sound stupid, but check your in-game sound levels too.

The whole lack of heartbeat indicator is throwing me off completely though 😂

  • Update: Lack of hook music seems to only affect the basement hooks.

  • I played in at least three games like this yesterday alone, but this has been something I've noticed the past couple of days since the new DLC released. I keep depipping because of it, and it's honestly getting so incredibly frustrating. I had one team that all three of the other survivors gave up on the first hook, I've played with a couple that DC out of nowhere, and it usually ends up being a really short match which ends in me depipping. I've been bouncing between rank 8 and 9 the past few days :/

Really? Dang, I got it like 5 times yesterday alone lmao, I played it in the PTB so I personally am getting to know my way around a little faster, but I've had teammates DC or just give up in general because people struggle to reach them in time... That was becoming an annoying pattern yesterday :/ It's huge, but hey, to each their own -- you may or may not like it!

On the topic of him feeling too weak, maybe it's just the way he's played/the build being used? I know I've run into some who can absolutely demolish the team, and then those who are more on the weak side. I think he's balanced depending on your play style.

  • @Desh said:

Map is awesome, nothing wrong with it. There's 4 ways up at the very least, no different than The Game.

True, although The Game is much smaller than Midwich Elementary School. Maybe it'll grow on me because it literally just released yesterday, though. Like I said, it does take time to get used to, so it's just a little frustrating running into a dead end when you're running from the killer, y'know?

I just had enough of the new map that I just DCed on it. I'd rather play Ormond or Haddonfield than this map now. Not because it's confusing to navigate (I actually like how it's learnable), but because someone can just run down the hallways in a straight line for 20 years before you catch up, then go into a room with a super safe pallet/window, then continue. That and the walking distance between gens can be insane.

Yeah, there's been quite a few people who just DC or give up on that map as well. There's been a lot of mixed reviews on the map, I personally just don't like it in general. Maybe after a while I'll get used to it, maybe they'll tweak it a bit, but at this very moment I'm not a fan either.

ive played like 12 matches and haven't seen the new map so sadface. Ive tried pyramid head around 8 times and got him to lv 50 but my god imo he feels so weak.
