I tried without perks didn't work but end game chat showed i had perks :|, it would be cool if BHVR would fix before the event ended, also tried with perks and i had this in end game chat so i think not only is not changing perks survivors see something different
-
Also happens with the nightmare, they probably forgot to make it exclusive to the singularity

You shouldn't have to. Try to re-copy your EAC files again after the client updates.
EAC isn't the problem, from their description of their problem I think they have the same problem as me, everytime the game updates the .exe gets deleted, I don't know about others files since i don't keep track off

It is working on Heroic for me after dealing with the annoyance about file modification. I uninstalled, deleted all the folders related to it and installed it again, following the steps to get it working on Heroic.
I meant the steam version, sorry, yes the heroic version is also working for me

Just tested the new dlc version 6.6.0, It's not working, it disconnects after a few seconds, if anyone could confirm would be good

So sad that no one at BHVR care about Linux and Steam Deck support. We know that you (BHVR) don't care about what your user really want, but most of games are now working with steam deck and Linux, all the devs from other games are moving forward Steam Deck compatibility, but not Dead by Daylight.
Is funny because you supported the Nintendo Switch (and the game run SO BAD there due to the hardware limitation, i tried it) but you don't support the steam deck and the Linux OS. Probably because with the switch most of your users had to buy the game and with the deck we can use our Steam account with the game pre-owned? Just asking for a friend.
I used to be positive and think that maybe it was just taking too much time due to bad documentation/implementation but after games that said they didn't plan to support like hunt showdown added support I have honestly lost my hope, the best we will probably get in a long time (if ever) is the Epic Version

I wrote a guide on common issues here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/361429/unofficial-linux-support-thread
It was probably that you needed to run "Force Update If Available" or "Verify And Repair". It happens sometimes.
It wasn't that I was unlucky when i decided to play dbd i entered during the short time someone at behaviour ######### up and leaked the next update on EGS by uploading the 6.6.0 update prematurely , lol, the leak was making it impossible to play during that time
-
Can anyone play on heroic launcher? I got an update out of nowhere and now the games keeps saying no network connection, i noticed the game says 6.6.0, that I'm aware of the epic games version doesn't have a PTB and i didn't change any configs so I'm kinda confused.
Edit: I got another update and now it's back to 6.5.2 everything seems to be working again, someone at behavior probably ######### up lol
-
A warning for this update in heroic launcher for some reason after updating it broke for me and a friend, the .exe was deleted, if it happens to you you can verify integrity to fix, it worked for my friend, for me it didn't work I had to reinstall

what ur video adapter and what drivers u use?
I
have nvidia gtx 1080ti and nvidia blob 525.60.13
AMD rx580 Mesa Latest version (22.3.3) Vulkan-Radeon (22-3-31) It could also be a problem with Nvidia, other people with lag spikes could confirm, this would also explain Why it works perfectly on my PC and steam deck, both are AMD

yes, i try proton-ge 7-3* and proton-ge 7-43, I doesn't see differences

March2 said about lag spikes, u can't confirm it?
No i can't, I use arch for pc and the steam deck, the only problem I have is sometimes when alt tabbing the fps get stuck at 20 but after a few seconds it slowing starts going back to 60, other than that I don't have any lag spikes, the only time was when i first started playing on Linux but that is expected from proton for the fist few hours. Maybe could be related to the WM compositor being use? I'm using wayland + gnome

on win7 dbd unplayable, but on win8 dbd wok smoothly and perectly
This is strange, have you tried changing the proton version? I'm using Proton-GE 7-43

I did notice in the DBD settings in Heroic, it says "Sync Saves: Unsupported." I'm assuming that means that your progress in Epic won't be carried over to Heroic, or vice versa. If that's the case, it's probably not worth playing DBD on the Steam Deck, at least through this method. I might as well stick with the Nintendo Switch version for portable DBD...
Sync not supported is probably related to the fact that ever time you install new it shows a popup about ranks like you are new to the game, the progress is being carried over, I can easily jump from my PC to the Steam Deck, also for the people talking about lag its normal in the begging like many other games, after sometime it's gone, you might still sometimes get a lag spike but that's normal for dbd, I also had on windows

It's also worth noting that the update to glibc 2.36 breaks EAC on everything (DBD included), so if you're using a rolling release or bleeding-edge distro, this may require a workaround.
I think Arch may (?) have already fixed this in its implementation of glibc, and there were workarounds floating around as well if you Google it. But I don't use Arch anymore and am not sure.
If anyone knows what glibc SteamOS is currently using (I imagine that Valve wouldn't allow EAC to break on its own platforms), that might be interesting.
On Gentoo, recompile glibc with the hash-sysv-compat USE flag.
The only other distros this might currently affect, AFAIK, are Fedora and OpenSUSE's rolling release branch, so if anyone's using those, try firing up any game with EAC and post results.
I'm using Arch with glibc 2.36-6, It's working

Probably a bug, open a support ticket

I think the reason why there's a block on the Steam version is pretty obvious:
They don't want the forums (and Steam reviews) to be flooded with angry Steam Deck users who don't know anything at all about Linux and are upset because X feature doesn't work properly or map Y has a graphics bug or they just plain couldn't get the game to run. They haven't finished testing it thoroughly, and maybe the people at corporate are also waiting to get Valve's Verified seal of approval before moving forward.
At the same time, the devs aren't dicks, and so, in the meantime, we still get a way to play, and BHVR can take the stance in the meantime that it isn't something that's officially supported while gleaning valuable information from the few who are trying it.
As mainstream as the Steam Deck has become, merely enabling Proton support out-of-the-box is still going to lead to hundreds to thousands of people trying it and causing headaches for BHVR.
It takes an extra $10, a little bit of knowledge, and a lot of extra work to get it working on Linux, more work than just installing Windows on an SD card would be for the average Steam Deck user.
In the meantime, if you really want to play the game on Linux, get the Epic version. It's the price of two cups of coffee, and cross-progression works flawlessly. If playing the game is more important to you than what OS you're playing it on, dual-boot Windows or play on GeForce Now.
Bugs are not a reason they have not released on steam deck yet, I have been playing this game for some time now on epic version in both my pc and steam deck and both versions run perfectly (including the same visual bugs that windows has)

I'm sick and tired of tunnelling and it makes me not want to play, easiest way to fix tunnelling is literally make it so you cant hook the same person twice in a row, wouldn't be something that's hard to implement , still allowing the survivor to go down but not allowing them to be picked up until someone else has been hooked first
So whats preventing a player from using no mither and constantly body blocking a killer after getting unhooked?

Its for killers not survivors. To prevent campers.
I know but if the survivor is looping the killer near the hook theoretically the slowdown would active because the killer is also near the hook, that's why I'm saying that the slowdown shouldn't be active if a survivor is near the hook, killers shouldn't be penalized because of survivors stupidity. Or alternative is if the killer is in chase, if I recall correctly chases don't activate when the killer is camping but activate when chasing near the hook
-
@ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:
I think the hook timer should slow down considerable depending on if the killer is closeby. That might further push killers away from camping because the generators can get done very easily if they do that, yet won't make survivors unable to die on a hook either, nor make it so that players wouldnt have to go unhook someone if the killer isnt nearby.
This slowdown shouldn't apply if survivors are near the hook, sometimes survivors are stupid and loop the killer right next to the hook, killers shouldn't be penalized because of this

I also get disconnected, Trying to play with bots I enter for a few seconds then I get disconnected
-
I was also able to play with GE 7.41, the only launch options I had was driver related because my other driver was crashing when entering a game, my other change was also copying the EasyAntiCheat Folder into Win64 but I didn't test without it. no PROTON_EAC_RUNTIME needed
Launch Options:
VK_ICD_FILENAMES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/radeon_icd.x86_64.json %command%
