  • Definitely noticing a drop in quality on PC/Steam. The game chugs along during certain things, usually when a killer picks up a survivor or certain parts of the map. Auto Heaven going through the entrance of the garage once it's open as killer caused some severe frame drop when passing under the flickering lights for example.

Additionally it makes other things chug as well, turning other programs/videos on my other monitor into slideshows.

  • Doesn't ever bother me, but some of the replies here solidify that I'm making the correct decision to not broadcast it if/when I stream my gameplay.

Someone has to be doing something especially egregious for me to care, and even then the times I've thought to check... I can't even remember the streamer's name anymore so it must not have been that important.

Some people stream, I don't let it faze me.

  • I mean, that depends. As killer? Doesn't matter. You'll get red rank survivors who just want to make the game unfun and teabag. They'd rather sit in 20 minute queues than understand the game needs both killer and survivor to enjoy themselves for a healthy community.

If you're a red rank survivor, dude... Either get friends or pray; especially with crossplay. I can't seem to get past rank 4 because I swear to god every game has at least one person hiding in a corner while the killer is doing a chase across the map. It's... insane. Being a high rank survivor without a dedicated group is like herding cats. Cats that actively hate you and want you to suffer.

The dichotomy is insane, and while I know it's anecdotal well... Any rank killer over like, rank 13 is just inundated with survivors who act like a SWAT team that knows every loop, how to bodyblock, and run perks to screw with the killer; any rank survivor is a bunch of people who picked up a controller the first time today and have no idea how mechanics work. They'd rather hide than do anything and everyone is running self-care instead of working as a team.

I'm a bit miffed, it's been a frustrating day in this game. Crossplay has made life Hell.

He has no valid argument, he'll only reply to you with not even funny memes.

Yeah I see that. It's... it doesn't even make sense.

Killer mains baffle me, because any time I read the forums or watch one stream it feels like they just want survivors to run in circles so they can kill them without effort. Doing gens? TOXIC. Looping well? TOXIC. Perks like DH, DS, or Unbreakable? TOXIC. "Bad survivors rely on perks to reset their mistakes" or whatever.

Seems like killers just want to press M1 and move on...

You didn't get my point I think.

I'm talking about those kinds of survivors that thing DbD is a speedrun game.

They click M1 the whole game, the hide the whole game, and just that.

That just proves they are awful survivors tbh.

I've had games where real good survivors, didn't need to gen rush to actually win because they were gods at looping.

When I get games like this I'm just dissapointed at that type of people, because that shows no skill.

So survivors were doing gens efficiently, and you lost because of it. Oh no, they were literally doing their gameplay objective and you came to whine about it.

    Poor baby.

  • Most of those are counterable by your own gameplay. Don't want someone to use Unbreakable? Maybe don't slug them and leave them there. As someone who's been left to die bleeding on the ground... I'd be happy if Unbreakable was straight up available to everyone 100% of the time. Cause otherwise it sucks. (Like, at 1% if you haven't been picked up and have healed to Need Help, you can get up. It SUCKS dying on the ground after being abandoned.)

DS? Just don't tunnel. Not that hard. There's arguments about having it auto-deactivate if the killer hooks someone else which seem reasonable.

BT? Maybe don't camp? I mean, you're taking a gamble on who you hit being able to shrug it off. It's straight up not the end of the world.

Dead Hard? Y'know it's amazing how many killers seem to want the survivors to just stand there and die. Like, the same people will whine and moan that 'all survivors want to do is hold M1 and then leave' and then cry about how 'the survivor hit a button to undo their mistake! Totally skillful gameplay!' like... Make up your mind. Half the time it doesn't work because of server issues.

Insta-downs in generally just... aren't really fun? For the same reason as issues with Unbreakable. It's not fun gameplay to lay there and rely on someone else to pick you up. Especially if you have selfish/ignorant teammates, or a killer who's just slugging everyone and chasing the 4th. If you want the game to die, take all the fun out of it...

  • I don't like it. It's just going to lead to me dodging more lobbies when I go in with a killer I don't have prestige 3 with all perks unlocked because 0 part of me wants to deal with 4 people running flashlights and I can't swap to a killer with Franklin's.

Not to mention all the times I'm busy spending BP while waiting in queue so I can get things done while I wait.

I get why, but yeah... This is gonna suck.

Playing against players that are more skilled than you actually benefits you more than hurts you imo. Whenever I played billy around a year ago I wasnt the best and I kept getting beaten by players 10x better than me, but I learned to adapt and thats how I became godlike in this game. Its just a matter of how much time you dedicate yourself to this game

Alright so here's what happens. You, a rank 13 killer pop into a game against a SWF of rank 2-4 players. You look around until you find one person and start a chase. They loop you. A gen gets finished, you realize that this person is better at looping than you and you'll just lose gens if you chase only them (they're communicating that it's safe to keep working on gens because SWF). So you break off. (They tell their team the killer is coming.) As you search for the next person another two gens finish. You find another person (they say to their team they're looping the killer.) They loop for a bit, and another gen finishes. You again decide that this one person isn't worth chasing because you only have one gen left and you need to patrol those three remaining to stop it. You've gotten maybe two hits in, and three survivors are at full health because they healed while you were chasing the second. (The second survivor tells their team to be careful killer is coming.) Third chase starts a moment later and the last gen pops almost right after. The survivor leads you to the far side of the map. You break off to check the doors.

Each time you find someone, they run you away from the door. You can either chase and get a hit, or patrol the doors. If you go to door A, they tell their friends to hide or run and open door B. This goes on for some time.

Match ends in less than 6 minutes with all remaining survivors crouch spamming.

Post-game... You depip, they're all still rank 3.

What did you learn? That it's not really fun at all, is it?

This isn't the case of every game, you might get 3 kills! Or you might go for the hook only to have two people body block you, and they scatter when you end up dropping the survivor because of the wiggle timer. Or you hit one and the other gets the unhook. You can only chase one! "Well play Bubba." Okay but the game already started, I can't change in the middle... But when you decide to do the smart thing and break off from a strong looping survivor only to find out that ALL OF THEM ARE... You don't learn, you just get teabagged.

This isn't Dark Souls where you can git gud by learning patterns and finding out what a boss does so you learn what best to do to counter it or the timing for a parry or dodge roll. Every match is different against people who use different tactics. Even knowing in the moment what the best option might be. "Don't chase a strong looper you just waste time." doesn't really work when all four of them are.

  • I'm so sick of it. I just want to work on my archives and I'm constantly getting stuck against red ranks while I'm way, way below that on Killer. And it's a never-ending cycle because the more I get paired with red rank survivors as a green killer, the paler green I go until I'm grey because guess what...

It's REALLY HARD to get better at the game when you're just getting crouch spammed on. I KNOW I'm not as good as a rank 3 survivor when I'm a rank 14 killer. I'm not going to improve unless I have a chance against people my own level to hone those skills.

They don't put professional boxers against elementary gym class. Jesus Christ.

Not good bc it's usually bad matchmaking that leads to that. Had a few cases today where the killer opened the gates themselves. I leave, the other 3 spend the egc vault spamming and running in circles around them. Great victory guys, we defeated the rank 13 who brought tier 1 predator and fire up...

This. I've been trying to work on my killers and I swear I'm like... A green against reds. I know they're better at the game than me.

It's obvious in the first few minutes. It's not fun, and I'd rather sit through a 20 min survivor queue where I at least have a chance than have my green rank thrown against people who are rank 4. It's... It's not fun. I've only been playing a few months, match me against people who have the same relative skill. Yeah I know you can AFK your way to rank one half the time, but good lord when it's 4 red ranks against me at 12 or whatever... It just feels garbage.

I know. You won. You're better at the game. Please leave, you don't need to teabag at me. I KNOW. YOU WON. Congrats. I don't bother to disconnect, I just watch. You're at the exit right at the edge of where you're safe. I can't catch you even if I wanted to. Just take your points, keep your item, and go.

  • Honestly, I liked the grinding ones more because at least I could do them. I've got one left, the Dark Senses "Master Challenge" for tier 4.

I've been at this for I don't know how long and I've finished 3 of the required 4 generators in so many games. At least one of them I said beforehand I was working on the challenge only for two other survivors to sit on a 2-slot generator as I stood next to them basically begging to get the 4th I needed. They knew, they sat on it anyway.

So I either need to get completely incompetent teammates who don't do generators or I need people who will be nice enough to leave it with 1% left so I can finish it off. This has become extremely frustrating and the fact that it's the only one I need just rubs salt in the wound. I could be done! But... I have to play around teammates. (Sure I could do SWF, but I'd need to convince several other people to play because currently only one friend also plays and she's still too new to help me herd three other cats.)

With things like flashlight blinds or just healing two hundred health states... Okay, sure. Just keep plugging with normal gameplay and you'll get it. This Dark Senses is frustrating because if I miss one gen I've gotta be hyper vigilant to find others working on generators and hope that the killer doesn't find me while I'm running around aimlessly.

    It's...

I think the idea of challenges is nice as a concept, but I agree with some of the other comments above. Having to change up how I play and focus on gimmicks rather than 'winning' isn't fun, and it's just making me want to turn the game off. Especially when I can be sabotaged by disconnects, jerk teammates, or just a long run of especially bad luck. And it doesn't feel satisfying to get a challenge done by luck! Planning out the 2 sacrifices with NOED during EGC and having someone break all the totems, only to still somehow get it because... wait what? The perk wasn't active?! I didn't feel accomplished, I felt like the game's code had just taken pity on me. It doesn't feel like I earned the blind a killer carrying a survivor because... two people disconnected and he gave it to me since I was already injured anyway. It's pity, not accomplishment.

All for... a dangly thing I actively don't want to wear because half of them are super bright and make me more visible in the fog.
