There should be 2 queues imho...
One for ranked
One for casual/unranked
Besides that sbmm is better in general, especially for newer players.

i only started playing a month ago. but i had to learn something about dbd:
this game is mostly toxic. i mean, the vast majority of players makes it toxic. the game itself is funny.
as a killer i free mysself from "i want to win" to "i want to have some fun". maybe i want good chases, maybe i just want everyone to be franklin'd. whatever makes me giggle works.
i had to remember that playing is for fun and not for winning. this is a game. i would love to win at the lottery and i bet if anybody has to decide they want to win at the lottery and become a millionaire OR win most of the time in dbd... they will surely choose the first option.
thats something i had to learn (or remember) the hard way in dbd. you cant influence other players in soloq. you start as akiller with a hefty disadvantage stacked against you.
toxic players will tend to say "it's a skill thing, get better" but is this really true? is it skill if you get harassed/blamed/flamed whatever after the game even if you just play the game in a regular way? is it really skill if a swf4 team can just rip through the gens? in my opinion it is not.
my advice to every player:
- remember its a game. not more, not less.
- remember that there is a human being at the other end of the internet. well, at most times human *g*
- having fun does not necessarily mean winning
- you can not influence what other players do (that thought might come in handy in soloQ)
- as a killer the game is at the start stacked against you so dont feel stressed if you can not recover from that.

the easiest solution to tunneling imho is fixing gen repair speeds. the game is originally balanced around 90s gens. it should be not much above this and not much below.
with gen speeds like half that time or even below sometimes the tunneling becomes a viable (maybe not a good one) strategy.
another solution to tunneling will be reducing the amount of health states. healthy -- injured -- hooked and rescued - off the record -- second hook and rescue -- another off the record maybe -- dead hard probably ... and i am not even counting healing or any boons against slugging.
sure there will be tunneling regardless of any countermeasures. but i really think if the game becomes more managable again for killers many will change their behavior and actually go hunting and not babysitting one survivor.

Picture me: a high MMR Blight just trying to have fun. I have a meme build on with no perks and some bad addons, I'm just trying to chill. I get a lobby of p0-5s with no items. I think to myself "Alright, this should be fun enough". Last second 4 man swap to flashlights p100 survivors. Cranking out gens and teabagging at every chance. I get a 1k, still without tunneling or camping anyone out, and I get mass teabags at the exit gate, then post-chat toxic BM, and "ggez" comments left on my Steam profile. Fast forward 5 games in a row of this happening, I switch to my semi-sweaty Blight setup and I play very sweaty. Fast forward 5 more games, all 4k. All of which, people complain about being tunneled, complain about being slugged, complain about being proxy camped when hooked in basement in a 3-gen, complain about sweating, complain about xyz. Also lots of post-chat toxic BM and comments left on my Steam profile, but at least I feel better.
PSA to all the toxic survivor mains out there. If you're sick of dealing with people playing every game like they're playing for millions, stop being toxic to the few that are actually trying to have some fun in this god-forsaken game.
This. A million times this. This is the truth. The moment the survivors win they will show their worst behavior. Not all survivors but the vast majority.
Pls bhvr give us the option to disable post game chat.

I believe these changes will hurt killers. Now you will have something like swf-light in every match. I bet it will result in even harder tunneling.

On the contrary, its exactly ON POINT. An aggravating game calls for aggravating strategies. 3 healthstates is too much.
Three?
Dead hard, decisive strike, borrowed time, off the record... I would count that as six health states possible.

SWF is not cheating, neither is using voice communication in game - please do not spread misinformation.
Giving Solo Survivor similar information to SWF is just bridging the gap slightly and a nice Quality of Live update for Solo Survivor which is unarguably seen as the more difficult role in the game right now.
That was a good one. I would prefer a hundred times as soloque survivor then playing killer vs swf.

Dbd is fine. The problem is the community within dbd.
I respect your effort, really. But it doesn't matter what will be changed, you can not change the behavior of the average player.

after playing the complete day on vacation i decided to camp the S*** out of every survivor and tunnel them. Babysitting 3gen. whatever is necessary and within the official rules.
the reason is simple: the survivors are just toxic. if you give just a little bit in and dont 4k/3k+H they will laugh at you, spit at you, flame on you. the whole day i experienced exactly this. as soon as they reach the exit gates they show their true colors. not ONE friendly surv that said gg after a match or any friendly word. the whole day. like what 30-40 games?
i didnt take any "meta" perks like eruption or brine or whatever just to be a bit more "fair", but this ends now.
i am not even raging, it is my conclusion. i am just highly disappointed and sad about this community or the vast majority of it. if this is what you want dear survivors i highly recommend to every killer that you use your absolute worst (for survivors) strategies.

Tunneling is a strategy. Maybe not a good or fair one, at least for the player that is tunneled.
Dbd by design starts with the killer in a somewhat hefty disadvantage (otzdarva talked in one of his videos about that). On top of that comes the Gen rushing which might be an additional issue that provokes tunneling even more. The killer can take one player out of the equation and bind maybe even more players from doing gens (cuz they go for the unhook). I don't say it is a good thing but I can understand why. Managing 3 survivors is just easier and most humans tend to the easiest or least stressful path, even in games.
Maybe a good way to incentive anti-tuneling is to reward the killer more for injuring and/or hooking more/other players?

The difference is if they quit via hook suicide, they dodge the penalty meant for people quitting, and are free to immediately ruin another game. If they actually DC, they have to take the penalty they deserve.
OK Mr. Genius go on and tell the community please how on earth you are able to differentiate between a player that is "hook suiciding" and perhaps a new or bad player that just misses his skillcheck on hook? These things happen and there is nothing anyone can do about it.
By your logic the attempt of self unhook should also be removed because it could be used by the "suicidal players" to speed the process of hook suicide.
Finish the match and go on. I mean, even if they get punished by any means it will not change the outcome of the actual game they "hook suicide".

Skill issue. Also you have this weird misconception every Nurse/Blight player is super good.
Your whole comment is just wrong.
First it is not a skill issue. If e.g. a nurse and evenly skilled survivors play against each other (to be exact here: the nurse player knows how to use her power and not some first time pick VS evenly inexperienced survivors) nurse will win hands down.
Blight is a bit behind nurse in terms of raw pressure.
Second I never stated that I assume every nurse or blight player as good. I wonder why you made that up.
Besides that both killers are not that easy compared to someone like trapper for example, that's absolutely true. But if you run into a good nurse... There is just not that much you can do.
