  • I understand it was a somewhat controversial DLC given some things orbiting around it but it's sad to see it go. Hellraiser is one of my favorite horror franchises and I wish we'd gotten more content for the license.

Hoping they make a return sooner rather than later. I get Hellraiser is not particularly a favorite by many with how their power functions but I still enjoy my Pinhead games.

What sucks is I can't even remember the last game I played against one. Outside of one a few days ago likely due to the license being pulled I believe the last one I saw was at least 6 months ago.

  • Badham School (Freddy map)

    Alternatively any swamp map.

    I love Suffocation Pit personally.

  • I'd love for BHVR to experiment with doubles so we can have Chucky / Tiffany or multiple Legion members or just other double shenanigans.

Personally I'd want to see more stealth killers added so Myers and Ghostface are first picks for me. Clown, Trickster and Singularity though would be cool. I don't know how they would add Pig due to the amount of RBT's and RBT boxes to search. I would like to see Pig added though.

Killers I never want to see added to the gamemode is basically Plague, Skull Merchant and Hag. Specifically Plague. How can they balance a killer that can permanently keep you broken in combination with other killers who can quickly keep up and one tap you?

Realistically though it would be awesome having all the killers available I just can't imagine how some would work.

  • They finally are adjusting the AFK crows oh my god holy ######### yes.

  • I feel some mechanics should be a little ambiguous such as how to meta or play but I feel the tutorial should have a segment where you chain two tiles together to survive a set duration against the killer.

Past that yes the tutorial is pretty bad but it's still miles better than what it originally was. Realistically they don't need a custom map for the tutorial they just need to take one of the real maps and force the player to naturally progress through the map with objectives.

Also fix the tutorial to allow the UI to be removed by hitting space instead of needing to click on it.

  • I enjoy 2v8 but Wesker didn't need a 3rd charge. He's probably one of the few killers who could have stayed the same and been fine.

Bots are annoying and I'd rather just not have players. Most of the time they get in the way and give killers free hits.

I feel for survivors to be incentivized more they need to allow more diverse loadouts by allowing survivors to bring an item and a single perk of their choice. Ultimately if you compare a perkless killer and perkless survivor the killers are stronger / more interesting.

Killers currently get buffed for the gamemode at their base. Survivors do not. Let survivors have more freedom with their loadouts but keep the approach to killers the same.

RPD feels awful because one killer can just sit mid and gate keep survivors to a half of the map. There needs to be an extra route from the outside to get in somehow.

I agree with some people who say some killers shouldn't be in the gamemode. When ever Plague gets added it's going to dramatically lower the quality of the gamemode just because always being broken versus anyone else that isn't Plague is going to feel #########.

  • New Freddy is better than before but only slightly - the teleporting and clocks are more QoL and the snares / pallet are sensible changes. He feels like how his original rework should have been but still feels like they're missing a bit of flair. Admittedly he's still about the same to play as or against but I think he's in a better spot.

I still want new chase music, dialogue and skins along with another realm rework but I doubt that is ever happening due to license.
Could be better but could have been worse so I am content.

Overall though I am more happy with the rework and feel BHVR did what they needed to. I admit there's a couple things I'd like to see different but overall I think they did a pretty good job.

UI absolutely could use a rework though it's very cluttered.

  • Freddy is stronger but still feels about the same on how engaging they are. BHVR was too cautious with Dream Pallets but at least you don't need an addon for them now.

That being said I feel like Freddy isn't ever going to satisfy most of us who want change for him. There hasn't been a single version of Freddy I've personally been happy with. I admit I want Robert Englund which I know won't happen but at the same time I feel like there should be some some of Dream Realm as a separate map sleeping survivors go to in order to wake up but probably too oppressive or a burden to balance.

I'm happy with the Snares and admittedly it's pretty much how I wanted that part of his power to function because I actually suggested it years ago. Just visually it's underwhelming and seems like a skeleton crew handled added it and changing Freddy.

    I'm indifferent about teleport.

Dream Pallets there's a wide range of complaints I could give but I just feel if they're not going to fully commit to reworking this part of his power they should just scrap it. It's just bad. It was never worth it to take as a power with addons prior outside of gimmick troll builds so it having no addon requirement is great but it could not be there and Freddy would be about the same.

If it stayed I'd personally just make it so Snares colliding with dream pallets explode them instead of dedicating a different function just to explode them. The entire power just seems over complicated for what it does. Which is barely anything.

Freddy is definitely stronger but he's still boring. But that's not necessarily a bad thing.

  • Distortion isn't bad Off The Record is just too good. The only thing that should change with Distortion is specifically killers that can avoid building up chase charges which is mostly just stealth killers such as Wraith and then Nurse who just ends up chasing you for a few seconds. Maybe Distortion could get an additional change that if you are being physically looked at similar to old Spine Chill it builds up charges as well. It would solve a lot of issues the perk has with hit and run and killers who somehow do not activate chase. For the majority of the roster the perk works great - it's specifically a few killers who commonly use aura reading that skip chase all together but still maintain LoS. Huntress, Nurse, Wraith are some small examples I'd give but I genuinely cannot think of another killer outside of those three who are really problematic with aura reading.

And again - Perk itself is good especially now that it forces engagement. It's just a few killers ignoring its mechanics which shouldn't be a thing.

A lot of arguments about when aura reading is and isn't an issue are fair but I feel that's a different topic all together.

  • I don't care at this point if the IP isn't dedicated to horror. We have enough stupid and distracting cosmetics that I'm willing to head canon explain any cool character in this game.

Star Wars does have scary elements that aren't necessarily horror but unsettling.

Most of the original killers are not scary or seem like they fit in a horror setting such as Legion, Trickster, Knnight and especially Skull Merchant. Some licensed characters while awesome to have aren't necessarily dedicated to horror but more fantasy such as Vecna or even some licensed cosmetics for killers. But something a lot of us tend to forget is horror and what's scary is very subjective.

I don't care one way or another but I'd be all for Darth Vadar specifically. That being said I hate Star Wars so again - don't care but Darth Vadar is a cool character I can see working. Don't even want to argue about power levels because every other licensed character isn't at their power level so it shouldn't even be a conversation at this point.

  • Oh god it's 2025 I've been playing this game for almost 10 years

Also yes Knockout is annoying. Wouldn't mind it getting reworked.

  • Does the teleport only work on the survivor being healed while asleep or can he target the awake one also since some perk interactions reveal both users? Like let's say the person healing you is asleep - is it still just for the survivor being healed?

I see how they're preventing unhook tunneling but that's quite a bit.

  • The same thing was said about Reassurance. The reality is most people don't want to run perks that help other survivors because they're more easily focused out of the game that way. It's also difficult to know when the right time to use it is.

I actually have it equipped but I believe I only have a good opportunity to use it 1 out of 5 games even if I don't get hooked. I see no reason to use it on someone who has gotten single hooked and a lot of the time if they are getting tunneled I am either not present to save them and use the perk or people do not know I have it equipped and disallow me to use it.

Then there are occasions where I can use it but it would result in me likely being focused out of the game instead. So a lot of the time without luck or communication it's a wasted perk slot.

The DC system in DBD is one of the most terrible I've seen.

Imo it's a perfect example of theory that doesn't hold in practice. It's crazy how many obvious flaws this system that have still not been patched after years. And some people still naively defend it thinking it disincentivizes giving up early, when giving up on hook has never been as high…

The thing is, griefers who really want to DC easily circumvent the penalty system. They can give up on hook or going AFK, both heavily penalize the team as they won't even get a bot.

In contrast, someone who has actual connection problems will take the full penalty, even though they'll leave much later in the match, and give a bot, hence being a lot less detrimental. Contrarily to one might believe, the penalty system is quite severe, even though the first penalty is only a minute, it only fades out after 24h which means in reality you can DC at most once per 24h, which is really not lenient if you play a lot, you will eventully get the 15 min from time to time. Meanwhile again, griefers can give up on hook with no penalty, then DC at the end of the day, they can do that every day and if they play only 1-2 hours per day, they'll never hit the penalty.

Another "hilarious" consequence of this system was when big streamers like Otzdarva got held hostage for entire hours by hackers, yet they couldn't leave the game or they would get an even longer DC penalty. Once again, this penalty never works in practice. It seems to only punish normal players.

I used to complain a lot about this system but just like so many things in this game I simply gave up on logic and decided to not care. I have stable connection so whatever, I'm not affected.

Or at least I thought I was not affected, until now. Because apparently we can't have functioning servers for Christmas, so now half the games start with 300 ms ping for everyone, and I can't even DC out of these matches as the killer. So I waste 10 minutes in a match where everyone only point to hooks, begging for me to kill them because they don't want to play either, yet nobody can leave the match.

tl;dr: REMOVE THIS STUPID PENALTY AT LEAST UNTIL THE SERVER ARE FIXED PLS.

Agreed with everything for the most part but I feel removing it isn't the right call. At least not right away.

I will say this though - the game is in a better state now even with bots that I'd rather just have people DC than suicide on hook. We have bots now and yes as a survivor my POV is I'd rather have a bot than someone who decided to kill theirself to avoid penalty. Am I going to kill a bot easier than a human in matchmaking? Absolutely. But at least I have to deal with a player as opposed to that player who opt'd out and now I don't have to worry about either.

Self unhooks without perks or offerings shouldn't be a thing either. Punishing survivors or players in general is just such a stupid call at this point in the games life. BHVR has such arbitrary unspoken rules that can get a player banned yet these rare scenarios can just be avoided if they actually bother fixing the game. All the obvious solutions do not affect normal players.

  • I want BHVR to be able to launch a DLC pack without breaking a lot of stuff and with the DLC functioning as it's intended. Literally all I want to expect at this point. It feels like BHVR is always months behind on what each update is intended to be.

  • I would imagine he would have a rage ability and some sort of ability to throw both pallets and survivors using both as weapons. I would say environmental executions because realistically the only real interesting thing about Jason is how many ways he's killed people before.

What about invocation being basekit, and invocation perks alow to do multiple invocations in one game?
Invocations are okayyyyish, but not worth perk slot

I'm all for this - I am partially suggesting that already. I feel Invocation as a mechanic should somehow be basekit and the perks should just be "sweeteners" for the actual mechanic.

The main thing I'd like to see solved is the actual activation. I feel with the last Halloween event BHVR did it's the perfect example of how Invocations should be. Charge up and allow anyone to claim them at any point. The current being you are forced to commit and complete them makes them incredibly opportunistic on top of being likely to throw your game.

  • Honestly I'd prefer a refund on Chucky - The license is cool but it's laughably bad how much this killer has been gutted. Why should I keep giving BHVR money when they make balance decisions around terrible players who don't want to learn and get better at the game?

  • Wesker's big ego needed a big terror radius.

  • Compensation for what specifically?

Thrill should just be rolled back to its prior version and it will be fine.

No idea why Dracula, Shape or Houndmaster need to be lumped into changes over a perk.

  • This is genuinely the first request for a nerf on this perk I've seen since Headon was added to the game.

I just feel the perk becomes less of an issue the more experience and self awareness you have in game as killer. I've literally never felt like this perk ruined the quality of my games as killer even with sweaty 4 mans.

I can kind of agree with lingering hitboxes but wouldn't we say that's more of a latency issue and not really an issue with the perk?

  • I feel the mori itself is fine - Perhaps just letting the killer mori one person when there are two survivors left with one hook state would be a better option.

  • I've only really made one friend specifically through DBD. It was before DBD had a report feature around 2016 or maybe early 2017. I remember I played 8 games in a row as killer and I was either told to off myself or I would be called slurs like the hard R or something comparable to a bundle of sticks. The only person who even said anything remotely nice was a dude I met who I ended up killing as Trapper who just replied with GG :) but I noticed they were a streamer so I ended up going to their channel and saying hi - was a great guy and we ended up staying good friends since then. He's always kind of stood out from the crowd in a good way and while it was unfortunate circumstances that made him stand out in this case I'm glad I got to meet him.

  • Some sort of reptile or dinosaur and a spider like killer.

  • Sadako was only good at slugging using a very specific build otherwise she has never really been good. She is pretty much comparable to old Freddy where old Freddy was only really good at just constantly slugging people back when you had to wake people up before you could pick them up.

That being said neither are really good atm and I would like to see larger reworks on both - at least Freddy is confirmed. I've never really liked Sadako as a whole in the game but I admit I feel she was probably in a better state in her old form before the reworks. She just feels like she's a walking disaster for the balance team because if she gets buffed too much then she can just instant kill people and apply pressure and no one will be able to do anything so that's probably why she is always so weak. She is kind of fun to play but for me personally that's just because you can teleport and that's why I kind of like new Freddy a bit more than the original - mobility is always good / fun.

  • I miss when I could look up or down while crouching or using an item. I think it changed around when Ghostface was added but your timeline may be more accurate. I thought it was cool how animations would be more reactive to my input but it's okay now but could be a little better. I feel with the movement change there's still a high skill ceiling just the skill floor was changed but admittedly I don't even feel it's easier for everyone it's just different.

For the most part I'm fine with all the gameplay changes but I do miss the old visuals. A lot of DBD's visual charm was lost with redesigns and optimizations especially to fog and lighting. Admittedly I will blame "Blendette" for changes to both lighting and other visual changes.

Somewhat related and I don't miss it but I remember when Huntress was added and landing a hatchet played a loud explosion / alert sound instead of the hit sound. Not important at all but I thought that was hilarious.

Unrelated but you have a very based name - I'm currently working to p100 my Ace.

  • Why does Freddy changes have to be so far out yet so close

  • Literally Freddy and Quentin - but if we look at characters who deserve more but may actually be able to get them. The Shape, The Demogorgon, The Nemesis and The Executioner (Pyramid Head).

Being honest I feel like all the original characters have a decent amount of cosmetics now. That's the list of characters I'd look at though and they're all licensed so go figure.

  • Names and profiles should be hidden until post game lobby I agree. Killers shouldn't be allowed to lobby shop public profiles.

If I play survivor I typically go anon mode because if I play with friends who are newer they get tunneled because they have low hours or I get tunneled on rare occasion because my name isn't in English. Also yes I know this has been a reason because I've ventured onto low viewed streams to hear killers talk ######### about my name or people just outright admit it thinking it's funny.

Post game it's fine if you choose to be public but I see no reason to have any information visible to the other team pregame.

  • My hot take is the only thing that should change about the DC penalty is if you reach a certain threshold (That already exist) it prevents you from participating in special events.

Anything further than that is unnecessary when survivors can just suicide on hook or people can AFK or "pretend" to be playing by holding W around the map as killer doing victory laps. Stronger DC penalties won't do anything and honestly I prefer people DC'ing over the alternative which is suiciding on hook as survivor or killer just AFK'ing.

Want the game to be better?

Remove the ability to self unhook unless you have a perk, addon or offering for it, encourage the killer to not give up and AFK and grey out the Disconnect button the first few moments reminding players what they are doing.

  • I feel like some of the new changes are alright but I admit I found older Trickster more enjoyable. I don't mind them but I found myself more dependent of using main event over their normal ability since the change. That being said as I don't main them I don't really have any notable input from long term committing as I found myself drifting from the killer since the changes.

I did enjoy the movement speed change but on top of the other changes everything felt like it was too much. I admit I am very indifferent about both versions now. My genuine hot take is Trickster is the only killer in the game that makes me genuinely believe BHVR shoots themself in the foot confining killers to 110 / 115 ms or 24 / 32 TR (With rare exceptions).

  • I'm happy I still have my Zanshin Tactics - I'm fine with that change.

Honestly I'm pretty fine overall with the update although I absolutely understand it's very polarizing this time.

Truth be told I won't be excited for a balance update until I see either Freddy or Myers in the changelog.

  • At this point I just want Freddy cosmetics.

Haunted ground , Kuon, parasite eve, bloodborne, siren <very popular in japan~~, fatal frame, hollow cocoon, nightcry, the evil within, F.E.A.R.

I'd forgotten about FEAR - How could I have done that. Yes FEAR would be awesome. I don't know enough about the other licenses to comment on them.

  • For video games I'm conflicted - occasionally I feel different but I really want an Outlast collab and I really want a Bioshock collab. Would also be down for the original Postal Dude as a cosmetic for someone or even a killer but that's stretching. Fatal Frame would be awesome but I have no idea how they would make that work in a DBD setting. Clocktower is also up there on stuff I'd love to see in DBD.

Movie wise it's just between IT, Jason and Jurassic Park. A dream would be John Carpenter's The Thing but I don't know how they would make it work. Candyman and American Psycho are up there too but I don't know how they would even put Patrick Bateman in the game.

If I had to absolutely pick a license from a video game it would probably be Outlast and for movies The Thing. Cannot really think of any novels or manga to suggest though.

  • From what I know if survivors do nothing for like 10-15 minutes it's reportable but it's such a stupid unclear rule you would need a mod to clarify.

imo If no objective progress is completed for like 5 minutes survivors should have their auras shown and if they're in a locker that should highlight. Feel free to argue with me why you don't deserve to be found if all living survivors do nothing for 5 minutes.

Also BHVR should stop item pick up / put down from delaying AFK crows. You can spam drop an item in a corner of the map to postpone crows indefinitely. Same thing with performing any animation.

  • Actually thinking about it I agree - I feel like normal gameplay wouldn't be punished in most cases but if you're bleedout timer is 75% or even 50% at that point you've probably been on the ground more than you've been playing.

It wouldn't be free unbreakable because it would have a consistent condition to activate. At the same time I don't see BHVR trying it again because the last PTB was terrible.

Slugging someone for a chase or just to check for pallet saves sure - Even in cases with the last 2 to secure the 4k. If you're slugging for more than a minute I'd argue that you're doing it just to do it. I've never had a game where I felt I had to slug a particular player for extended periods outside of No Mither players and people constantly tanking hits when I'm surrounded by flashlights in a boon bully squad. Even so the rare times it's an issue is literally 4 mans trying to ruin the game anyway.

  • I remember when people demanded refunds for the initial Decisive Strike rework and this conversation happened. You agreed to their ToS and it's unlikely you get a refund for this specific reason.

This is the reality of live service games.

  • Lights Out seems like a gamemode where they should just tailor one killer and a set of abilities to it similar to how they balanced some killers specifically for 2v8.

Although I admit it seems like too much work and I kind of agree with everyone they should stop working on it even though I like the gamemode.

  • Great change for the perk - forces a survivor to not play as passively.

Also - I don't agree with needing to be in Terror Radius for it to work because stealth killers counter the perk.

This is actually a buff against Mirror Myers because realistically in a chase you won't ever be caught by him and you'll always be able to get a token back versus him.

If you don't like the change use Off The Record or Shadow Step.

The old version was great for Clown, in fact that one Clown main is gonna have to rewrite his guide lmao

I primarily use it on Clown and Trickster.

I hate the rework and the more I think about it the more I dislike it.

  • Happy for most of the changes but I prefer old Zanshin Tactics. The new one is basically I'm All Ears but for pallets.

As I've said in another thread to me I like knowing a survivors resources before they reach certain tiles and sometimes it's easy to get faked out. However having an idea if they are going to commit to a tile or not is useful for me and knowing if there are any other resources they'll likely head to so I preemptively know what parts of a tile to cut them off at.

I primarily use it on killers with projectiles namely Clown and Trickster. I don't like the idea of it working on dropped pallets at all because I feel it's going to create an unhealthy cycle in the game where survivors are revealed for too long on some killers who can just easily walk around thrown pallets or ignore them. Also at the same time how are you going to possibly mind game a pallet a survivor just threw? You both likely know where each other are if you are engaged which makes me feel this perk will be dead on most killers that do not use stealth.

How are you possibly going to mind game a thrown pallet as a Nemesis for example? You don't. You break the pallet and continuing chasing like normal.

Again to clarify - You need to be within 16 meters of a survivor who is 6 meters in range of a pallet to see their aura. You both already know where each other are in most cases and you're playing around a dropped pallet which you will inevitably have to break once you begin chase.

  • I'll be the hot take person - I prefer the old version because I like knowing what resources are available to survivors when chasing them to a tile and having an idea if they'll commit to a tile or try to LoS and break chase by continuing to hold W. The new version is okay but it's basically I'm All Ears but for pallets. I don't like it.

In fact out of everything in the developer update this was the only thing I didn't like.

  • The only thing that could be overkill is the reduced number of drone scan lines. Outside of that no all the changes are fair and I'll be glad the killer will require more actual though but realistically outside of a survivor occasionally getting tagged by a scan line because they physically cannot see the model where it's placed to get a cheap injury nothing really changes on the killer.

Nothing fun about playing against a killer who brainlessly just has to drop a drone and hold W.

Me personally - Yeah I want everyone to stop playing this killer. Boring miserable experience every time. While I don't do it nor encourage it I don't blame my teammates for suiciding on hook / dc'ing and I get it.

  • It's a bug but admittedly Wolf form is pretty weak in most cases and I only use it when everything else is on CD.

Would prefer it get patched tbh. It's not gamebreaking in any way but I'd rather Dracula be balanced around a consistent toolset rather than a bug being factored into how strong they are.

  • I haven't noticed it impact my games but I feel this is one of those changes where it's going to take time to really judge its affect.

  • 3. I feel being able to switch between EW1 and EW2 should be the main premise of a rework

    6. I would rework the purple addon Tombstone Piece to act as it does now except instead of killing a survivor it adds a hook state to them. You would "execute" a survivor as normal but when thrown to the ground they enter the dying state and the Entity snatches them up and remote hooks them to the farthest hook on the map. You can tweak the numbers outside of this as you wish.

  • I don't have issues tracking with bat but I feel it shouldn't be easy with how diverse Dracula's kit is. I usually use it to quickly teleport and cut people off in chase or return to key landmarks on the map. Outside of that I find it to not be worth it to stay in bat form for prolonged periods. At most I think when I go in Bat form I'm only in it for 10 seconds tops. Being able to see survivors also wouldn't change my view on this - I need to be able to quickly attack survivors and the Bat form is purely for mobility and occasional surprise attacks if line of sight grants it.

  • I feel like the original intent of Knockout was to be paired with Leatherface's sweep ability in the scenario that if they were to down multiple survivors they could continue chase since they can multidown. DBD was a different game back then but Knockout got changed iirc because it worked with other killers and was from what I would guess too strong working with powers. Both Leatherface and Knockout functioned completely differently when they were released.

Right now I feel like it's one of the remnants of older DBD and could easily be changed. Forced Hesitation essentially does what I'd imagine Knockout would do today if it was designed for current DBD. I don't see an issue with keeping Knockout as is BUT I wouldn't see a loss at all if it were reworked into something thematically appropriate to Leatherface and the reference it makes with the perk but just discouraging slugging.

That being said - This perk can easily be played around once you realize it's in play. The main offender here I would have said is Nurse but since Nurse's blink attack is a special attack now I don't believe Knockout even works on her anymore. It's just M1 killers that can use the perk now. So ultimately it's kind of a garbage perk because M1 killers need more viable perks rather than a dedicated slugging perk.

Is it an unfun garbage perk? Yes absolutely.

Do I feel like it's something that should be priority to change? No not really - There are far worse things to deal with that make slugging much worse - I feel this perk only affects solos where you don't know where someone went down.

Prior I would have said it's problematic on Nurse but Nurse specifically was the problem not this perk.

1 2 3 4 5 … 42
