How do you know these accounts were not receiving (temporary) bans though?

Everyone else here is showing off pictures that they get notified if their report actually went ended with a ban. So, I was under the assumption that whoever is overseeing that portion of the operation either didn't care or that it didn't matter. But if they want hackers running around making an annoying game even more annoying, they can have at it.

Funny, I actually forgot about Pinhead! Haha! I hate versing him, too, but he’s such a rarity these days that he’s a non-issue for me.

    @sonata93

Honestly, he's so boring to go against unless it's someone who's got time as Pinhead. I've played against a few who can't aim his chains and it the matches just feel like such a slog!

Good for you if you don’t tunnel? You can play for 8 hook games before eliminating someone and I’ll play for 3 hooks and eliminate someone when the need arises.

You have your own DBD experience since the game came out, that’s cool. No need to insult others who don’t play the game your way if they’re not breaking any rules.

    @appleas

But the need never arises. Killers are so overpowered compared to survivors that it's honestly stupid that any killer (barring the completely new ones who have no idea what's going on) feels the need to tunnel out one survivor just because "the need arises."

It's just sad to see that killers will prioritize someone who's fresh off hook vs. the person who just pulled them off who is just as easy as a target.

I wouldn't call it insulting. Telling someone they suck if they feel the need to tunnel survivors after 1000+ hours in the game is completely justified in my opinion. DBD doesn't have these complex mechanics where you should ever feel the need to tunnel. Honestly, on the killer side, it requires a lot less if any thought unless you're going against a 4 stack. And that can be said for any game. If you need to result to cheap tactics to ensure results vs. just relying on yourself and your skill, then you probably should just give the game a break.

Sure, it's not against the rules, but I believe it should be heavily disincentivized solely because if you're good enough at mindgaming, even the most seasoned survivors can't stand a chance in a chase. Defending tunneling as a way to play the game is just a weird cope.

  • @Mooks

I had read it on either a forum or Reddit post quite a while ago and have never seen any of my reports (with evidence included) ever actually result in a ban. It didn't matter if it was just toxic behavior, hate speech, or hacking. Nothing I ever reported ended in anything. So, I just made the conscious decision in my head that the report system was just to gather information on what bugged players.

  • Most boring:

    1. Pig
    2. Legion
    3. Pinhead

Most annoying? That's a hard one since it really comes down to who's playing the killer, but I personally hate to see:

    1. Hag
    2. Knight
    3. Clown
  • I think killers who try to justify tunneling, camping, etc just suck at the game and need to either get better so they don't have to resort to tunneling every single match or just find a new game to play. There are literally millions of games, why be the annoyance that everyone hates?

And before you guys jump me, I've been a killer main since this game came out and I have never NEEDED to tunnel to eliminate a survivor from a match. It baffles me every single time I hear about someone tunneling survivors.

Sadly, it's becoming more prevalent with killers who can't prioritize targets and protect gens at the same time. It's just going to get worse.

  • I've noticed it. Survivors are always just fast enough to keep away from me at all times, and when I check, they aren't running any perks that would increase their movement.

I can't speak for last winter event since I was taking a DBD break, but this holiday event has been very annoying. Like, annoying to the point where I just gave up because it was every single match. Not even the same people.

I don't remember it being this bad around the Halloween event either.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one seeing an increase in hackers though. I thought I was just starting to burnout and suck like I did last year. Hopefully BHVR will actually do something about it though.

  • Honestly, that entire situation is stupid, and if half of the player base needs to be banned for killing themselves on first hook, it would FINALLY be a welcome change to DBD. There are so many people who give up because they don't want to play against a certain killer or go and run off at the beginning to find and simp over the killers in the game nowadays and do absolutely nothing to actually progress the match.

For example, I had a match a few nights ago where I was playing Ghostface. Couldn't find any of the survivors and I saw scratch marks running into the basement. 3 out of 4 of people were down there wanting to be hooked because "we love Ghostface." Doesn't matter if 3 out of 4 of you want to die for the killer, you're ruining the game for the ONE person who's actually attempting to win. It ruins it for people who are diehard survivors, and it honestly isn't fun from the killer perspective either. When I play matches and I get people like that, I just go out of my way to avoid killing that one survivor. I might knock them, but I won't give them the satisfaction of being first out just because " I don't want to deal with this."

To everyone defending the survivor who did that, it's sad that so many of you see that as normal behavior when DBD is and always has been a dice roll. You never know what you're going to get and sometimes you just have to suck it up and deal with it. If you can't do that, maybe you're part of the problem.

Will it suck? Absolutely. But so does playing survivor with the new "tunnel" meta.

  • I've heard that the report system doesn't actually do anything and that it "only gathers data" currently, which makes no sense whatsoever.

I've had hackers and people exploiting who don't get banned either because they just show up in my matches 3 or 4 days later and it's still the same thing.

  • This sounds like massive copium. SWF is literally the only way some people can have any fun in this dumpster fire of a game.

What would be the point of prox chat? No one wants to hear about how much they suck from some random who has done nothing but play DBD for the past 7 years. And as many have said, not everyone would partake in it. If it ever got added to the game, I would just unplug my mic/headset any time I was SQing because I refuse to be part of any of that nonsense.

As someone who's been playing DBD since day one, I would HATE to see more people driven away from this game because of how toxic other people can be in this community and even if it doesn't start off that way in a match, it always very quickly devolves into someone yelling slurs at everyone else because "you guys aren't doing what I want."

The solution is just so terribly simple as well to all of this. Just get a friend group. Pretty much every match after I play, I have people adding me. And even if you don't have people adding you after matches, you can always go to the Discord server and find 3 other people. Hell, you can use the LFG right here in the forums.

Not every problem requires a new solution. Sometimes, the answer is right in your face the whole time.

  • Honestly, I think the best thing to do is stay away from the game. It's clear the devs have their "strong" beliefs on what their game should be (aka, inability take constructive criticism) while catering almost exclusively to killer mains and nerfing pretty much everything the survivors have at their disposal.

The new survivor experience is hell. I was a killer main who moved from PS4 to PC and then met people who wanted me to play survivor, and I honestly think I would have been better off staying as a killer main and never touching survivor. It's not even that there's really a learning curve to the game, it's just how DBD for the survivors is. And that comes from someone who understands each killer and how their powers/perks/add-ons work.

I think for the first week and a half of playing, I was hard carried in each match I played, even if we didn't win. I didn't feel like I was contributing to the success of the team, but I 100% blamed myself for us not winning.

It doesn't help that 90% of the killer base is super toxic and has a major god complex about themselves when they just tunnel, tunnel, tunnel, and tunnel some more, which isn't fun for anyone.

I don't think the MMR is ever going to be fixed, so you'll always be playing with people who have just no-lifed the game until they can find you with their eyes closed, which kind of sucks, but that's the way the devs want their game to be.

If you ever find friends to play it with, it can be a little bit better because then you can actually coordinate, but honestly, if communication isn't a big thing for you or you don't like talking very much, just find a survivor build that you enjoy and can play well with and go with that. Research your perks and use add-ons to maximize their effectiveness.

If you do continue to play the game though, I recommend playing killer and learning how their powers work, what limits them, and how they can be used against them. It's not going to stop the tunneling or other toxic nonsense the devs allow in their game, but it'll at least give you a bit of a chance to "fight" back so to speak.

Also, and this is a big one, work on mindgaming. It's hard to put into words what I mean, but if you watch people on Youtube/Tiktok/whatever you use, you'll see survivor mains running circles around killers. Just attempt to emulate what they do and eventually you'll be running circles around even the most pesky Legions.
