Oh sweet! Must be a pretty big fan then!

Yeah I watched a few reviews of them since opening the poll. They changed a lot for some weird reasons it seems. The name change for Cheryl still confuses me. I mean, they gender swapped Harry, so changing the name there makes sense I guess. Cheryl is still the same in the first movie though so her name being changed makes no sense to me. Oh well. Not a big deal.
TBF the first movie was okay-ish, it was the second that completely bombed it.

no, the reason killers say everything the survivors do is toxic is because, flash light clicking, t-baging, t-baging at exit gates, killer tunnels/camps the killer should delete the game, etc. Most if not all killers consider looping a strategy and not toxic, and doing gens isn’t toxic either. I t-bag as survivor in chases to get the killer mad and so they make mistakes, but not at the exit gate when I can just leave.
I was literally tunneled off of hook after running a killer for 4 gens, which wasn't the issue, but I was then told "get tunneled, (homophobicslur)", with repeated visits to my stream under different accounts telling me they were going to drop-kick my child. As a survivor. To claim that only killers get "killer should delete the game" type endgame chats, or worse, is a falsehood. Survivors, good survivors, get just as bad trash talking from both the killer AND their teammates if the teammate feels they didn't preform to their standards. Pretty frequently.
Flashlight clicking is used to spin a lot of the time. Most of the time it doesn't work, or it's used for the same reason you do-- to get the killer to chase them or make mistakes. Is it BM? It can be. But nodding is seen the same, nod when they screw up a save or click and then go down?COPIUM. But killers BM just as often, if not more. Nods, hits on hook, camping at 5 gens, tunneling at 5 gens. Slugging and watching the team bleed out. Dropping next to hatch and telling you to crawl while so they can shut it in your face. Slugging you at door, waiting for you to crawl before picking up (when no DS is possible), standing in front of hook to wait for you to wiggle so they can hook you. Over-slugging you until bleed out despite being able to hook you. There are tons of things killers do to be dicks, but no one calls it out.
And that's not to mention the teammate BMs. I had a claudette THROW A GAME locking a nea into a corner when I was playing huntress, because nea Kobe'd in her face by accident. She legit just went upstairs in double story on preschool while nea was doing a chest and stood there until nea got crows. There's a reason that side is so cynical.
The community DOES baby killers and it DOES demonize survivors. That doesn't mean killers don't have valid complaints, but they're also hand-held by the entirety of bhvr, streamers and players.

I appreciate that you respectfully gave a measured opinion and offered a possible solution. It is true that DH is a counter to BL tiers. A Killer sometimes only "catches" a Survivor because of BL, not because s/he successfully mind gamed. If I heard correctly, BL tiers were added as a compensation for the broken amount of infinites and pallets that used to be in DBD years ago. Is it fair then to say that since those were lessened, BL tiers should be, as well? And if they are, should DH then be nerfed? At first glance, yes.
It's worth at least discussing.
Yes. I understand T1 because some loops are still strong, and some killers are still slow. Tier 2 & 3 were a band-aid fix and have yet to be removed. I learned huntress a year, year and a half (?) ago when they decided to remove bloodlust for a weekend. I noticed not much of a difference from now. I mean, I learned her so I tend to do better overall, but I didn't notice a massive spike after the weekend was completed.
I would happily take a dodged hit if they removed them. Mind-you, however, I don't think it'll work as using DH to dodge hits works less than half the time in my experience.
DHing for distance CAN be used when you screw-up, in a panic. But typically even then it's easy to mind-game if you see the panic or force them to waste it. Those DHing for distance, IMPO, do it mostly to combat bloodlust-- something a lot of killers may not even notice they're doing or wouldn't admit to.
Which is understandable, but someone has to tell them at some point, "hey you BL3'd them around that pallet and now you're upset they had DH to make one more loop around it until the gen popped-- that's not the correct move here." The issue is that I think the community tends to demonize a lot of what survivors do, and baby killers a lot.
I notice this as someone who plays both sides so much she reaches Iri 1 on both killer and survivor, every month. All of my tome challenges are done, so this isn't from a lack of understanding one side. This is from me actively playing killer, getting outplayed and people patting me on the back like "it's not your fault" even when it was-- meanwhile, me DHing for distance when a killer has been tunneling me all match I'm chastised as if I just reached through my monitor and punched them in the forehead. Over-demonizing people for using game mechanics doesn't help anyone, and babying a role so they refuse to learn better strategies help no one.
That doesn't mean, however, and I want to stress this-- it DOES NOT mean there are not still a lot of balancing issues.

They're exclusive. I have 2800 hours on PS4 and a bunch of exclusive outfits and items on that account, all lost when I switched. We just have to pray they one day figure out a way to cross-progress console with PC.

I have reshade, and enough brightness not to blind myself on daytime maps, but enough to see into the darkest rooms on maps where it's an issue. It doesn't look much different from my friend's games who don't use filters. You may be able to see more definition in closer trees and stuff, but it's still very much a black void outwards.
So... yes? Nightfall "overpowers" it in a sense? Still works as intended.

I named my kid after SH so yes.

@dugman, I don't know if you're aware of this-- but NOED is one of the top most used perks, and it's HEAVILY used in comp gameplay by every single killer that equips it. And while comp DBD isn't a massive scene, I've been around people in it for a very long time-- and they're all well thousands of hours with high MMR who play the game to the sweatiest it's ever been, so there's a good reason to look at it.
NOED DOES have that same level you're claiming it doesn't. And the whole "if it did, it would have been nerf'd a long time ago" could be said about DH as well-- but it hasn't.
-
We need to look at why people use these things.
A lot of the time, personally, as well as a few others I know who run DH-- it's to compensate killers who want to get to BL2&BL3 to get a down, despite misplaying. Remove BL2&3 (keep 1), i'll stop using DH in a heartbeat. It only goes off 60% of the time anyway.
As far as NOED, it's mostly used by, in my experience, not so great killers or killers who are very new (if not for a specific build). This is an issue, because they get kills with it, which individually doesn't really matter-- but systemically it's increasing their MMR. Then they go against a full 5k+ hour SWF who knows what they're doing, and it's cleansed in two seconds. Then they have shittier and shittier matches because they were boosted to an MMR that doesn't really match their skill level.
Making it earnable in some way may combat this. It'll teach newer killers not to rely to heavily on a perk to win them games. Token system seems fair enough. Maybe 4 hooks, 4 stacks? Noed activates. I don't really mind NOED much, cause I usually play with people who cleanse it pretty fast, but the times it has annoyed me is when they get absolutely no hooks all game then get a 1-2k they didn't earn.
We can't just sit here and say "PUNISH THING" without knowing why people use "thing" to begin with.
Not to mention moving the bar. Because I DISTINCTLY remember before the last DS nerf, everyone was saying "NERF DS AND NOED", then DS got nerf'd and now everyone's just moving to the next one on the list. What's after DH? Unbreakable? BT? And on and on it goes.

He has good map control, antiloop, and a third passive power. A tier, easily.

1 would be visually annoying, but 2 is a legitimately good idea that Otz suggested, and it seems like the one that makes sense. After hemorrhage, Blindness really is the last status effect that borders on useless.
Blindness IS strong, though. As strong as status effects should be. It robs any aura perks, it robs you of seeing survivors down'd, and where, and it robs you of seeing who is on the hook.
In fact, blindness has removed my ability to get to a body in time for a flashlight/pallet save, it's removed my ability to effectively navigate to hooks (especially indoors), get pickups, etc.
Status effects aren't meant to be mini-perks, let's stop acting like they should be.

I think you misunderstood them, I think they are referring to the reason they had to 'BM', not that its actually deserved morally.
Bad manners don't exist in Dead by Daylight during a game, except a refusal to play the game.
Tunneling/Camping etc while unpleasant, is not bad manners, its a part of the game.
Yes they do? People just don't typically know the difference between being sweaty and BMing.
Toxic/Bad Manners: To do something with no strategic advantage, merely just to taunt your opponent. (Tbagging at exit gate when everyone is safe, nodding and hitting on hook repetitively, etc.)
Sweaty: To commit to an objective (chase/gens/hooks/kills) while ignoring any other objective. (Shift W/Predrop, [actual]genrushing, camping first down, tunnelling when you have enough pressure, etc.)
In addition, not every action in-game is made alike. Am I going to call a survivor who drops their item for me and tbags an a$$ with bad manners? No. That doesn't mean that any time someone tbags it's considered toxic or not toxic. There is nuance.
The game is about map control and pressure. The faster the survivors get the gens done, the more pressure they have. The faster the killer gets their hooks, the more pressure they have. You can, of course, play how you want-- but you've also gotta expect backlash. Someone who waited in queue to have a fun game being tunnelled out at 5 gens with ruin and undying still up didn't need that pressure. It was over-kill. They didn't get to play the game, and they're justified in feeling robbed of that.
Likewise, if you're holding gens and ignoring EVERY other objective such as saves, healing, totems, etc-- a killer, especially a new killer trying to learn a specific power, isn't going to really have any time to do that because the gens are done in 4 seconds. They feel robbed of their game, which is also valid.
There's no such thing as BM doesn't exist at all, and BM is every action in a game you don't like. That's far too binary, and reality is never so simple.

First off I would like to get something straight if you are new to dbd and you need some time to get on your feet I understand. But if you are experienced and know how to play effectively then NOED is scummy to use. That being said let me say my reasoning as to why it’s unfair, number 1 it’s hidden the entire game, there is no way to know it’s coming except for to guess. (Don’t say “ just do bones” because Why would I do something that doesn’t benefit my team and wastes time especially if there is no NOED)
I don't think it's unfair, I just think it should be earnable.

I agree with this, on both sides.
I enjoy the chase. But admittedly, I was a cutthroat killer for years before playing survivor.
And over time, I have evolved into a journey over the destination gamer.
I remember stressing over the game in my first couple years. But, for me, it was anticipating not being competitive and getting my 4k that caused that reaction. After playing some great survivors.
I am curious what causes it in others .
And if a change in mindset would allievate it.
I've come to honestly appreciate good survivor gameplay and have the ability to grant survs on good plays, that said, if someone sends me to game map and camps every single pallet and calls it "looping" at endgame, I'll laugh in their face.

But doesn't the stress come from your own expectations and win conditions.?
It's wanting that 4k, every game, then failing to get it that brings on a stress reaction.
If we all could really accept any result and enjoy just playing, wouldn't that make the game less stressful?
Depends. I don't care how many people escape, I just want good chases. If I am actively doing nothing but holding W the entire time or searching for an urban evading claudette, that's just not fun in any context, whether they get out or not.
