Why do killers have a choice but survivors don´t? Killers need to get 12 hooks. 4 survivors need to repair 5 gens. Thats 1 1/4 gen per survivor. They absolutely can choose to not go for that gen thats at 30% and regressing, but never will ignore it for a fresh one.

My point still stands. Killers can´t play efficiently without getting called names. But survivors see no wrong with playing themselves efficiently. Its the objective of both sides. Don´t take it personal if you are the target. It could be anyone else who the killer is going for. The killer has nothing against you personally. He just wants to win the game. Just like survivors.

Honestly all I am reading from all your responses it that you seem to think that the only way to have fun as a killer is if you get a 4K and you're willing to do anything to get it, which is stupid. Getting at least a 2K is super easy and if you're really struggling with even that then you're at the wrong MMR which will correct itself over time.

There is no such thing as gen rush in average game, only coordinated SWFs can do it and those games are rare. And most people understand that if you play survivor and play in a way that puts you at risk then that's on you, generalizing all survivor players as complainers is just silly.

  • It depends on what kind of tunneling we are talking about, if a killer tunnels at 2 gens left then I can't blame them because if all four survivors are still alive then they often have to tunnel to turn the game around.

People who immediately tunnel at the start of the game though, that kind of tunneling is neither fun nor fair, it takes no skill to do and leads to frustration for the people that experience it. Not to mention that people who play killer and rely on tunneling gets boosted to an MMR that is above their skill level, which means they get obliterated by experienced survivors who can counter that strategy and it all just cements this mindset of "I have to tunnel to have a chance".

Tunneling needs to be removed, and that might mean that killers need a overall buff so that tunneling never feels necessary.

useless comment. been playing killer for years.

these current changes are very unhealthy for the game.

"easy to counter." doesn't elaborate. leaves.

the only counter to Plot Twist is to tunnel them or run bloody Deerstalker. you have to win the chase, you have to commit. no hit and run.

BU+FTP with a coordinated squad is hell.

you have no idea what you're talking about.

I mean clearly all those years playing killer haven't done much for you since you list plot twist as a problematic perk. Oh no, the survivor disables themselves for 30 seconds, gets healed and the perk is then disabled until endgame. Good thing there isn't an item that does the same thing but faster...

Buckle up and For the people is countered by just literally injuring people, most survivors are chasing after you making them easy targets. If the whole team is swarming you then you win by attrition since nobody is doing gens.

I think the most obvious one though is you calling Singularity bad, one of the strongest chase killers in the game, but somehow "takes too long to do anything useful".

  • @dbdthegame said:

MFT is a perk that, in its current condition, only affects the weakest killers in the game (the ones without a chase power). So many times, I've completely outplayed someone at a strong tile, say shack, and I'll be playing a weaker killer, and thanks to that 3% Haste, they still make the pallet/vault. This perk incentivizes people to only play the strongest killers, because playing an M1 killer against it is basically throwing.

How many more threads do we need to post before you acknowledge that this perk is problematic, BHVR?

I think the better question is, how many more pointless threads do you people need to spam to realize that the developers don't use your incessant crying as a measure for if a perk should be nerfed or not.

MFT is fine, it's scary in a good player's hand but 99% of survivors can't use it effectively, it's all in your head. I bet you complain about MFT non-stop during your matches only to go to the scoreboard at the end and realize that people weren't even using it.

  • If those things make you miserable despite them being easy to counter then there is literally nothing that can be done for you to enjoy killer.

MFT and Hope is the only legitimate issue, haste just shouldn't stack.

Yet this was an issue because her condemn had zero impact on the match. Getting a survivor to even use your tape was a miracle that never happened and her chase power was just a bad excuse where you could rather play Wraith or even Ghostface for a similar effect.

If they think this mechanic is too strong then they maybe should consider tweaking some of her numbers (condemn amount per teleport etc.). However the general idea is still good and making her condemn map-wide was not a bad change as now survivors finally have to deal with it outside of her slugging-condemn build.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3495043#Comment_3495043

She is out for one day and those survivors if they are at Hens level are probably not used to play against any Onryo other than 1-2 one-tricks or challenges. I do not doubt their skill but even they need time to adapt to the changes and the Killers they are facing. Wraith was considered to be over the top too and in hindsight the change to him was too much as survivor have it pretty easy against him.

Back then competent survivors also had to figure out a way to deal with him however the change happened before they could get use to it and show that he was by no means overpowered.

Sadako right now is basically a new killer for most people and cries that she is OP are just as valuable as the cries back then for Nemesis when people complained about him having to hit you three times with his tentacle...give them a bit more time to get used to these changes.

Please, stop with these ridiculous arguments of "people just need to get used to it". There is literally nothing to get used to, the fact that you are comparing Sadakos constant global pressure to killers that actually have to chase you is silly.

The fact is right now survivors have to run around the map and find a TV that is powered on (with no aura to tell them the locations), pick-up a tape, depending on their current condemn level they might have to dispose of it immediately in another TV and then they have to go off AGAIN finding a new tape, all the while worrying about Sadako finding them and destroying their tape, while also trying to heal slugged people and doing gens. This is not a short mini-game that slows you down like Pig, it's a full time commitment that requires insane amount of coordination and communication that no solo queue players will ever reach, let alone "get used to".

  • @frozzenk said:

Literally all you have to do is pick up a tape. Lord almighty, why is this so hard? This gives you an aegis shield against her condemn unless she physically hits you. She has no chase power. Don't be awful at looping. Get into a locker if necessary. This counters her hitting tape.

    https://youtu.be/l1ydLZ0_U9s?t=1062

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1882218432?t=03h29m38s

Look at all these competent SWFs with coms that apparently have problems with just "picking up the tape". Its almost as if there is more to the game than this meaningless statement.

  • This just reads like a killer player trying to come up with excuses to keep a blatantly overtuned killer in its current form. Managing condemned is not just a minigame, its a full time commitment that is impossible to juggle with everything else that goes on in a game if the killer player is even remotely competent.

We've seen several experienced SWFs with coms struggling against her at this point, if a premade team can't keep up then solo queue players are essentially doomed.

    knight and skull merchants

You genuinely think Sadako is worse than Skull Merchant?

Debatable, but they do belong in the same exclusive club of killers that make everyone miserable and want to play the game less

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

forces every single survivor to go on a side-quest every 2 minutes

If you're effectively managing your Condemnation then you should have no need to do this. The counter to the new Onryō is simply playing how you should already be playing survivor: splitting up.

As soon as the match starts, survivors should split up and take a Tape. That way, four of her TVs are disabled, limiting her map traversal in the early game. The Onryō is a snowballing killer. If she can get early hits and downs, then the match is hers. If you deny her that pressure early, then she'll struggle to get a foothold.

Of course, one survivor will inevitably be found and chased. That survivor will gain +2 stacks, but that is preferable to the whole team gaining stacks through global Condemnation. Once that survivor goes down, the rest of the team should use the time The Onryō is carrying and hooking to deposit their Tapes, so the next in line to be found and chased doesn't gain a +2.

The match should then progress in this fashion: When The Onryō is busy elsewhere, survivors take Tapes and work on generators freely. When she's no longer occupied, deposit your Tapes.

I'll admit this is a lot of coordination for an average solo queue team to do, and one person not playing their part can make the whole game fall apart. But that is true of a lot of other killers: Plague, Pinhead, Oni, Legion etc. It's less of a problem with The Onryō's kit and more of a problem with solo queue.

This reads less like a DBD match and more like a step by step guide to beating a MMO boss.

Good luck solo queue players. If you thought knight and skull merchants were horrible, Sadako is here to ruin your games even worse.

Well, if you care to know, I usually don't get looped around rocks unless MFT is in play.

but your assuptions are very enlighting on how perceived those who disagree with your opinion.

Because you don't even understand what MFT does or how much that 3% speed increase is. When MFT is active, a standard speed killer is still 0,48m/s faster than a survivor, meaning that they catch up to a survivor who loops a single point in less than 10 seconds. MFT doesn't even make a difference in the slightest in that scenario, you are just buying into the hype that the perk somehow makes the average survivor an uncatchable speed demon when that is not the case at all.

  • @Undercorsair said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3479534#Comment_3479534

    I disagree.

as a newbie I doubt that facing 2 MFT per match that are effectively used in most of my matches represents only 5% of the survivor population.

why are survivors main playing the austrich with that perk is beyond me.

I mean its fine if you disagree, but you already said earlier in the thread that you get looped around rocks, so I hope you'll forgive me for doubting your ability to accurately judge how effective a perk is.

  • @Undercorsair said:

I wish I could agree with you and say its senseless crying, but lately I had absolutely no fun playing killer mainly because of a combination of chases that takes forever around a rock (MFT) and then the speed at which gens gets knocked out (Prove thyself + BNP combo).

It seems like killers can't chase anymore, and the chases that do happens are just injured survivor running in circles around trash tiles and just popping an endurance out of nowhere, just like old DH except now its a combination of current DH and MFT.

I've uninstalled the game for now and plan to play other games until I read of a nerf.

I am somewhat of a noob killer, not going to lie, but I have like... 0 fun with this game at the moment.

I'm sorry my friend but this sounds like you struggle as a killer in general, this is not the type of perk that you put on and find instant success with. If you are not a really good looper as a survivor, this perk will at most save you a couple of seconds in chase, which is the equivalent or worse compared to Sprint burst or Lithe (and most people don't even make use of the secondary effect which is really good too).

Now don't get me wrong, this perk is really scary in the hands of a survivor who has mastered their looping, but that excludes 95% of survivor players as previously mentioned. This perk has created a placebo in many killers thinking that this perk does so much, I dare anyone to actually play survivor and use this perk to see how much difference it actually makes (it will make none, they will still lose chases just as fast as without the perk)

  • This senseless crying has got to stop. 95% of survivor players can't use this perk effectively, you are not being outplayed by a perk, you would lose to the same survivors whether they have the perk or not.

  • He's a strong killer that requires some skill to use effectively, that rules out a majority of killer players unfortunately since if the killer doesn't play itself then its too much for most people.

  • @oreoslurpee said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3477453#Comment_3477453

but he doesn't need a rework, he just needs some stat changes. make tier 1 not so trash, remove the stalking limit, and he'll be a better killer! not everything needs to be solved with a rework, and with the rework the devs made for onyro on the ptb, i have absolutely no hope for what they would've done with myers

Totally disagree, you can tune his numbers all you want but his power is too slow-paced to keep up with the game today. If we want to keep the stalking as it is then they would have to add some kind of built-in slowdown to gens or something else to his power to keep up.

  • What exactly is the "high risk" you are describing? Worst case scenario, you get a guaranteed trade, best case scenario you grab someone and now have 2 downed survivors with a high likelihood to snowball to victory. That sounds more like a win-win scenario to me, which is exactly why they are removing it.

  • You know what would incentive people to play other killers? Update/rework them and make them good.

These bandaid fixes won't get people to play bad/boring killers, there is a reason to why Wesker is popular

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3470148#Comment_3470148

Imagine a survivor constantly following you with flashlight simply because they know you can't hook him... no one would use this perk.

You mean by just having this perk it will permanently disable a survivor from doing gens? Sounds like the best slowdown perk ever, sign me up!

  • Pretty much true, any player with an ounce of multiplayer experience will dominate as a killer and only be challenged by skilled SWFs while bad killers will rely on tunneling/camping/slugging right out of the gate.

I have no idea why people still play survivor honestly, I used to do it for the rank rewards but it got more frustrating than fun most of the time so I gave up on it. As killer I only have to rely on myself and I decide the outcome of the game almost every time.

  • I thought this was weird as well. Now instead of being rewarded as a team, you are being rewarded for being greedy and selfish

  • This game barely has any lore other than snippets here and there, and there hasn't been any progression either other than the survivors being stuck in hell in perpetuity. If you are not planning to expand the lore greatly, why would adding sexual orientations (saying "revealed" is weird since there probably isn't anything set in stone) matter?

Ironically the Fnaf AR from mobile game is pretty impressive......for a phone game lol. Textures are little off but seen people make fixes for it which look nice which here is an example

    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2102385394

Though I do hope they make his skeleton realistic or at least a decomposing body since the OG model does look scary but wears off after a while when you realize it does not even look like a real corpse.

Also they better not give him Springtrap AR skins except molten one.......I hate them very much but mostly Clown Afton.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3464463#Comment_3464463

We don't need Survivors in Pajamas or Clown Dressing like the Chicken from Family guy but here we are.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3464468#Comment_3464468

Very true about the animations but the complete version would be phenomenal and beat most killer animations in the game visually. I do watch some Fnaf animations which are mostly VHS since they are extremely entertaining. My favorite series is by Spectre, which takes a different approach to the animations and story.

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLT07Z7AE2R4Tsh-mKIXe9ug81G2fh2-LM here is a play list of all 4 tapes, He even matches the animatronic motions for the models which is very impressive.

Most adaptations make Springtrap more fluid than trying to move with the suit which I hate so much. The suit does have limitations on what movements can be possible so if BHVR manages to keep the animatronic movements while also involving animations that represent Afton fighting the suit to move in a certain way.

Overall Springtrap visually ingame would be amazing since BHVR would be given a set of rules to follow so Afton matches his OG counterpart while also being more terrifying visually. The image of seeing a corpse fighting withing a mechanical suit just to chase and kill you while hearing his bones scrap and rusty gears clank would be very DBD themed.

We don't, and if they want to waste artists time doing that then its fine. Wasting a chapter on it though will probably be their biggest financial flop

They sadly balance it by statistics, which is not really better and we got lot of weird changes.

This perk is oppresive and it's one of more picked perks.

You think your personal results decide if perk is good or not, it's highly subjective point of view, for each perk / killer you have players that don't have problem with it, so with your logic, there is no need to nerf anything and all nerfs should be reverted.

You keep claiming things I never said to win an argument you yourself made up. I never said that I am the arbiter of what is balanced or not, I am questioning the outcry because its not the first time this community has made takes on a survivor perk based on math and theory that didn't play out like that. Like Hyperfocus was gonna make games end in less than 5 minutes, or Blood Rush was gonna extend chases a lot because everyone would have double sprintburst, yet neither of them see much play today.

If the perk performs too well then I trust the devs to see it reflect in their numbers and balance accordingly.

  • @DaddyMyers_Mori said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3462379#Comment_3462379

With this logic it doesn't make sense why any killer / perk were nerfed.

If you think the devs balance things based on theory and simple math, then yeah I get why it confuses you

  • Weird how I am not losing every single game with this OP perk existing. Almost as if there are countless other variables in the game that make the math pointless.

  • More people need to pick up Nurse and Blight. A few games in a row with those killers and people will be begging for Wesker to come back.

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3420766#Comment_3420766

nice try. But nope, that’s not true at all. the devs can’t just do whatever they want. They are ‚just‘ employees and if they don’t get the go from the employer for whatever reason (which still just might be it’s low priority)then they don’t implement it, and even small feature like this need to go through the whole process (discussion/approval, design, implementation, qa with potential bug fixes, and plenty of refinements in between)

If you want to live in the reality of where BHVR is intentionally not fixing an issue that require minor rebalancing (in your words) because of them deeming it "not a priority" even though it would mean a better experience for a bunch of people, then by all means live in that reality. I don't need to convince you, because it will never be changed and you can make up all the excuses you want for it.

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3420748#Comment_3420748

There is a reason why the developers haven't added a FOV slider already, and that is because it would completely break the balance and they don't want want to spend months rebalancing the game just to alleviate the issue for 0,1% of the game's playerbase when there already is a solution.

do you have a source on that? Or is it just your assumption?

because as I see it, the main reason why they haven’t implemented an FoV slider yet it because it hasn’t been a top priority and needs further balance changes and perk adjustments.

as long as they don’t state one or the other way, we do not know what the actual reason is..

My source is that the game is 7 years old and they havent added it even though the framework is already there (the perk) and it would be very easy for them to change it to an option. It's not a technical challenge, they could get it done in a day if they wanted to. If it wouldn't mean a significant overhaul of the balance of the game, they would have done it already.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3420513#Comment_3420513

I was talking about normal FoV options, not the normal base FoV. No one cares what the base is, if the game has an FoV slider. You're just being pedantic at this point.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3420525#Comment_3420525

If it's such a "great advantage", then shadowborn would be a top tier perk. But it's generally rated very low on tier lists, and it has a low pick rate.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3420528#Comment_3420528

Literally just throw it in the game, observe if the escape rates go outside of the acceptable range, and make other balance changes if the escape rates go outside of the acceptable range.

It's the exact same strategy as what BHVR is doing with the survivor HUD, and can work for an FoV slider too.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3420550#Comment_3420550

It's well known that multiple people on these forums claim the default DBD FoV gives them motion sickness, and they use Shadowborn so they don't have motion sickness.

And the default FoV is causing some people to have headaches or nausea, regardless of what your website link says.

That's not how it works. In a game where you are limited to 4 perks, you pick the ones who have the most impact on the game. Field of view is one of them, but is not as impactful as the others, that doesn't mean that it isn't a great advantage that should just be given away for free.

There is a reason why the developers haven't added a FOV slider already, and that is because it would completely break the balance and they don't want want to spend months rebalancing the game just to alleviate the issue for 0,1% of the game's playerbase when there already is a solution.
