  • Killers get tortured and lose their side of the deal (if they made one) for intentionally throwing a trial.

Survivors are trickier though. The Entity could call their bluff if they are sane and wait until the pain gets them to move, or he would throw them into the void if they are so mad they can no longer participate in the trial.

  • It might have to be a new game mode. Siren head just wouldn't work to me if he was 7 - 9 feet tall. But I've seen DBD pull off a lot of killers I've previously said the couldn't so if they wan't to hell yeah they should go for it!

  • I think that would actually make me dislike them. In my opinion (as a Legion main) the Legion is not the killer to do this to. In fact I'd argue that this is a design best suited for a new killer all together, with a chapter dedicated to that theme. What the Legion needs to become more appealing I think they should be changed to have a larger body count. There are a few other options, they could make the Legion be one guy with a personality disorder (Like the teaser suggested) or they could make the Legion soul connected and one person since they were all taken at the same time.

A change like this would only rip a character people grew to love away and replace it with something completely different. A personality disorder twist or soul connection twist is something that can be done without destroying the character,

But this idea has potential. The add-ons for the killer(s) could be used up survivor item offerings.

  • Every killer has potential to be good but Legion is the worst. Even though he can do great the Legion has a lot going against him. There are so many things he gets punished for. He even gets punished for basic attacking.

  • I'm rank 1 on both sides with 4000 hours (since launch) but don't worry. In my survivor games. From a survivor view point its really a small nuisance. It means I have to think about whether or not I should go for a hooked survivor and let my generator regress a bunch. But unfortunately like most things in this game any form of SWF ruins that pressure. Because my friend can just tell me someone else is coming for them or we can discuss who has the lowest % of generator progress. I don't mean to be sweaty when I play SWF but information does come out at some point, its hard to remember how much of an advantage that is. So no matter what it seems you get some use out of it. Unless its found at the spawn phase.

From a killer point of you its not as good. Its just a wasted perk slot. My issue with it is that its a 'late game HEX: Perk'. Which prevents it from being good similar to Huntress Lullaby. Now both of those perks can be super amazing if the totem is hidden but its too much of a gamble. Some of these totem spots are right next to generators or out in the open. Even the new map has a spot that looks really good when you look at how hidden it is, but then you turn around and there is a 4 man gen right next to it.

IMO the perk change was made at the wrong time but we really didn't need ruin as bad as we thought we did. Its a shame such a great perk had to become another perk I ignore in my inventory though.

  • The entity can look at the multiverse. The devs confirmed long ago its not in the entity's interests. So those realities, that it did take over, weren't likely to be out of desire to dominate. Instead, I believe those realities either held a lot of darkness (Killers) or a lot of determined people ripe for the plucking (survivors).

So, in theory, this reality isn't screwed unless it holds a very large amount of either potential killers or a whole lot of determined survivors that aren't likely to give up. Or both.

  • Its simple, her faith. Its clear the entity doesn't require you to have killed. It definitely increases your chances of being chosen though. But the Entity answered the Plagues final call so now the Plague thinks that the Entity is her god. Since the Plague lives in this delusion, she likely believes she is punishing the unfaithful. She may also think she is being punished though, as I would be very confused if I arrived to punish sinners and my gods didn't cure my Plague. We can't know for sure though because its possible the entity cured her ability to feel the pain of plague. (Hence why she can walk again.)

The Plague is a rare case, it seems the Entity only takes non-murderers that are capable of extreme murder. It took the Spirit because of her wrath, and it took the Plague because of her faith and eternal service.

  • Its good but I don't think we're going to be getting a school map that isn't related to Legion. Legion's entire theme is that the people closest to you (Specifically today's youth) could have murderous thoughts. If we ever get a school map its probably going to be FairFiew high, a continuation of the Ormond realm.

Regardless, I really love Coraline and would love to see The Beldam in the game or something like it.

  • I disagree. I don't agree with the ruin change but with the state of the game, the killer can almost never protect the first 2 gens. In my experience after 2 gens have been completed I get tons of pressure. Obviously they have the advantage still but I don't think you should just give up.

  • Like Acromio said, if EAC bans you, you're on your own.

BUT! The last known ban for something like this was back in 2016 during the hag release. That ban was **allegedly** the only ban known and it isn't even confirmed. EAC doesn't even look in those files. If you do choose to edit these, make sure to have a back up file of both your edited perks, and the regular perks. Every time you switch between PBE and live servers it will make you delete all of the files, so its good to have a back up folder that you can copy and paste to save you time.

You are wrong ... I care about dev's opinion :)

They have the source code, they do WHAT THEY WANT about the game ...

If you don't like the recent changes, adapt your gameplay OR play the other side OR just play another game :)

I heard that former killer mains enjoy a lot Civilization :)

The point still stands. Nobody's cares about the devs opinion on a win. I'm not saying I completely disagree with them, but I'll definitely be quick to dismiss their opinions given the recent terrible choices they've made.

I'm also not saying I agree with this post. I think that hatch SHOULD spawn because I like that the game is heavily balanced around lore. The Entity doesn't have control over the hatch.

People outraged at Freddy rework (muh snares are TOO WEAK), exhaustion nerfs for crying out loud. I'm not saying the Ruin changes seem good now but you can't take this community's hysterics at face value. People HATE change of any kind.

You must be a troll or something. The community has been split on both of those changes. Many were not happy with the exhaustion perks and the weakness of the snares, but in both instances there was a different side (an even side) voicing the differing opinion.

This. Is. Not. Even. The other side is absurdly small in number. The popular opinion (and I mean really popular, like I've never seen this much outrage from the community) Is that this change is a terrible one. I've been with the game since launch, and I've been in Reddit since it was open, back when it was entitled survivors complaining about how bugs kept getting them killed. I have never seen backlash from the community anywhere close to this scale.

And the idea that the devs should ignore the backlash because "Wahhh change!" is more absurd then you using the exhaustion nerf as an example to support your claim.

This is part of the escalation process, and it limits posting for 1 week.

And the reason you might not have seen the post that got the user "jailed", because we remove these posts as they break our forum rules.

Thank you for clearing that up. I was under the impression that they got it from debating too hard. A lot of them seemed to be very active on some of the discussion forums, and I got worried because I was replying and debating on there a lot too.

Neither is social media. Please show me how many people out of the entire playerbase are active on these sites, I dare you.

Dude did you actually read ANY of what I just wrote? I'm not interested in how many people are active on the forums, at all. I've pointed you to the overwhelming amount of disapproval these patch notes have gotten. Don't reply to me again until you go back and actually read what I wrote, and skim over the front page of the Forums, and Reddit, as well as look at the opinions of TydeTyme, ScottJund, and Ardetha. The posts and comments of the posts AND a majority of the comments on the videos listed seem to agree with the opinion. P.S. this isn't even mentioning twitter, lol.

Bold of you to say the community is in a state of chaos when probably not even half of it is active in any form of DBD related social media, let alone the forums.

Me and everyone I know who plays the game are pretty much OK with this patch. I can do anecdotal "evidence" too

The Forums are a dumpster fire, Reddit is a dumpster fire, and YouTube is a dumpster fire.

Maybe you should open your eyes before you mention me claiming that your group of friends opinions decide the state of the community. 80% of the popular content creators disagree with the change completely, that's not even taking into count the few like Monto who would rather test the changes before he finalizes his opinion, so 20% is a generous number to give to the people who think this change is a good one, given. And most of their opinions will be shaped because so many content creators a talking about the change negatively.

An overwhelming majority of the people voicing their opinion, anywhere, are saying no. Even the survivors voicing their opinion are disagreeing this time. Your small group of 4-20 friends being OK with this patch isn't evidence for the state of the community.

Yes, quite frequently. I even stream myself playing it.

You don't balance it though, lol. The actual devs are supposed to know the difference between a good change and an absolutely horrid one. Tell them congrats on shifting the community into a state of chaos though.

  • Haha I must be really stupid because I saw that fanart a long time ago and I thought its been in the game for months now

The only objective was to make him more fun to play against. He doesn't seem to be any better or worse, aka still low-tier.

No he is definitely worse, its actually impossible to be bias with this one. While charging his power up he is slower then the nurse (90% ms) and afterwards, he cannot attack for *3 seconds*. Also, they nerfed his snap out, destroying any time wasting potential he had. To add the cherry on top they took away his way to prevent pallet and window vaults. He is LITERALLY an m1 killer without a power. Unless you count the tracking device he has that renders him useless.

  • This is actually so crazy that the devs keep making changes that destroy the community this reminds me of the citizens of Pawnee only we're actually right.

  • They care about the game. I only hope they mean protesting instead of outright breaking the doors down.

Of course this is true - after all there has been no recent changes that have affected killers positively have there? Oh wait, Freddy got a really large rework and is now pretty strong, Balanced Landing got altered and that was a huge Killer complaint and many many more things. Fact is the Developers are not killer or survivor sided, they make changes for the better health of the game!

Oh boy two slightly positive changes. Freddy was a long time ago, which took like a full year if not more. Balanced landing was a lazy fix for the terrible map design.

I'll throw them a bone and say Freddy was a darn good rework, and Haddon field is an old map. But that's where I draw the appreciation. They nerfed legion into oblivion, then nerfed him again, lets also note that the only fixed 3 of his add-ons, not even bothering to fix his useless purple add-ons. Then to put the cherry on top, the turned Doctor into another stale boring m1 killer. A useless one at that. The same treatment legion got.

Killer treatment has been terrible recently. We got a promise that they'd fix 5 killers and only 1 of the reworks has been successful - being Freddy's. the Legions rework was just 20 nerfs trying to sneak into an R-rated movie, Spirit's change didn't fix any of her problems, They lied about changing the Nurse and made her an un-fun killer with a cooldown, and Doctors was just horrendous.

I try to live life trying to appreciate the little things, like a successful rework 1 year ago, and the balanced landing change that wouldn't have been needed if they just fixed the maps. But it gets really hard to appreciate the work the devs put into the game when every slightly good change comes with 5 horrible ones. Its honestly starting to seem like they are tired and killing their game off on purpose. Which is a HUGE slap in the face because I'd honestly be happier if they just announce they will no longer work on the game rather slowly killing it.

  • I don't know about camping. But right after we escaped the state of the meta that was Spirit, Nurse, HillBilly every. Single. Game. We are headed right back to it. Expect a lot of those 3, a lot of Oni's. As well as an increase in tunneling and slugging.

Oh, and say goodbye to hatch mercy. No point being merciful when the odds are stacked so against you.

A shame too. Killers kinda just became an equal role. Now they are being dragged back under to the under-powered role, even to solo Q.

  • @Peanits said:

I would definitely say give it a try first. Having played around with it, it can be pretty nasty once you get some pressure. Combine it with Surveillance and you also get some outrageous tracking (since generators automatically regress). You'll always know which generators are being worked on.

I personally can't wait to be forced to use 2 perk slots to slow the game instead of just one! :D I really don't understand why this couldn't have just been a new perk, instead of screwing every somewhat experienced killer. Ruin was the only regression perk that you could run alone, allowing creativity in the rest of the build. Now its gonna take 2 slots for the power you just ripped from an already dependent role.

  • Balancing the game around new players OMEGELUL

I'm so glad you enjoyed it, I just put up chapter two! As for the Ao3 stuff, I'm not that familiar with how it works either; I'm moderately surprised I was able to post at all XD

Reading it now, I'd love to read about 2 legion members paired or Kazan and Rin paired. Keep up the good work! I'll read them as long as you continue posting them. Honestly I'd love to see Kazan's opinion of every killer.

  • @HellDescent said:

There is no mention of alternative timelines anywhere in this game. In fact in every licensed dlc they follow the original storyline.

There is. None of the films state that they were taken to a mysterious realms. Its a different timeline where the exact events of the movies happen, but they are snatched by the entity in the end. The only exception I can think of is the SAW chapter. Both characters there are snatched after death so there is no evidence of a timeline difference.

  • I wish I had strong enough words to express how much I loved this. There was so much detail given, without giving names I could tell which killer was attacking who, I also really enjoyed that Amanda and Evan got paired up, and how she mentioned that the Clown took interest in her fingers. PLEASE make more. I'd love to see how each killer interacts with each other, and would very much enjoy if they continue making subtle hints to past interactions with each killer.

My only complaint was that I was left wanting more, I wanted to know who else attacked who during the fight scene, and wanted to know who else would get paired together. Thank you for writing this.

I noticed you gave your email for possible submissions, I may submit later. Also I'm not entirely sure how that archive website works. Will I be able to bookmark that and come back to it for any of your future writing? Or will I need to search for it each time?

  • @Trapper_MacMillan said:

This may be true, but we can't settle it down fully.

No it IS true. It was pretty much just confirmed. The Archive stories revealed that everything within the entities realm is conscious. The gound, the walls, the pallets, all of it; the entity. Auric cells further prove this as they are what everything is made out of. They are Auric CELLS, which are Cells that are living. Not Auric Atoms or something like that.

  • @camgaming_dbd said:

Yes they're real... look at the world and it's easy to find a real life legion

To be completely fair, most trouble making teenagers don't run around with Serial Killer masks designed to match their personality. Some do, but not many that aren't inspired by the Legions in game existence.

  • On some maps you can see the loop walls over the brick outline around the map. Personally I think that Killers without maps of their own kill in a different section of the realm. Side by side. But it hasn't been confirmed what lay on the other side of the wall, this was just an afterthought on the Devs part since it doesn't make sense to render much outside of the wall.

  • Dwight or Meg. And HillBilly.

My reasoning for thinking that is because Claudette, Trapper, Wraith, and Jake all get some lore outfits in the current archives. For this reason I think that the FOCUS will be Meg and Hillbilly (since Dwight isn't as interesting or as loved as Meg) and Dwight and some other killer will get a cameo outfit. This is just the first archive though, so I wouldn't be surprised if more then one killers lore is focused on at a time.

P.S. Recolor outfits don't count as full lore outfits like the one that Claudette got. So they are not off limits.

  • The Legion would NOT be afraid of other killers. We're talking about psycho teenage edge lords here.. They'd get themselves in trouble, likely landing on the bad side of every killer. Joey would try to feed hag like a dog, Susie would steal one of the Spirits limbs, Frank would try to square up with the Trapper, and Julie would cockily and meanly give beauty tips to the Plague.

You can't scare Punks, they always act bigger than they really are. To show how "not scared" they are they would each do something completely idiotic that would make them hated by every killer.

I disagree with your opinions on the legions ability to cooperate, being someone who has been a teenager and been around dumb teenagers that think they're big and tough, I've seen my fair share of dares to go poke the sleeping homeless guy. And the fact that they are paranormally connected, and they get supernatural strength from the entity, this would only make them more cocky. But I am interested in that potential fan fiction for 2v8 scenarios. Please link me if you do make it.

  • Auric CELLS. Cells are living. It is implied that everything in the entities realm; the plants, the walls, the generators, are conscious. Meaning they are the entity. Everything is made of the entity. So auras are probably just the entity revealing what it sees to other people. It seems that HEX: Third Seal can curse the entities ability to do this, and lockers also seem to be somewhat hidden from the entities ethereal vision, as it hinders the aura reading of the person insides ability to see and be seen via aura.

  • Why do you keep nerfing low tier killers for the sake of consistency and not giving them anything extra to work with? The community expressed how displeased they were with the Pig nerf yet you continue to do so with Legion anyways? I feel that a disconnect between the balance team and the community is starting to form.

  • They would have to like to kill, not want to so the torture stops.

  • It could be apart of a town urban legend. Or perhaps he spent some time there before the entity caught up with him. Its not specified that Ojomo was taken immediately. It just says he was never seen by anyone again.

  • Its slightly in-efficient but that's all. Torturing a killer into submission is a very small use of the entity's power compared to the rest of the procedural. The entity has to pick 4 survivors, a killer, and summon a giant hunting ground for the killer. Of course this is fairly easy too, considering that lore-wise the killers stay in their own realms, and each have 5 they can switch between. The only difficult killer would be Legion. They have to share a realm of 5 maps. There are four of them - and they're teenagers. So arguing about who gets to hunt where is entirely possible.

  • It works as a gateway. It's main reason of importance is the ability to take Killers and Survivors without drawing attention from itself. The reason fog ran in during Kate's abduction was because Kate was well-liked, bringing the possibility of somebody visiting her at anytime. It also makes the survivor lost, making the abduction a lot easier as the survivor or killer likely won't find their way out.

  • I seriously doubt she had ill intentions with her followers. She was calling to a god that didn't exist. The entity answered because she was in a desperate state and was extremely gullible. She believes that the entity is her god. She believes that the people she is killing are un-pure. The entity doesn't look for just anyone who kills as a hobby. It looks for what can invoke fear. Because fear is what makes hope sweeter. It needs killers that rip away hope. And scary looking killers make the heart sink faster and harder.

Since we're going off of a majority of the killers killing as a hobby, let me explain the following killers.

Plague: She was un-undoubtedly chosen so that she could serve the entity. She would do anything the entity wanted her to do.

Spirit: An embodiment of rage, the entity just supplied her with beings to take it out on.

Legion: Every grown killer is accepted. Something you see on the news and are disgusted. But disgust forms into fear as you realize that the corruption that once only plagued adults are now corrupting our youthful teens.

  • It could be laziness. And 80% of the community wouldn't be surprised if that were the reason. But due to it disappearing right after the hallowed blight event (A lore event that had a lot to do with the man who wrote those and another person.) Many are led to believe the disappeared for a reason. But maybe they will resurface when the Archives show up.

  • All of them would be S tier. They all bring something unique to the table. But Doctor, Spirit, Nurse, and any other "Paranormal based" killers I may have forgot to mention would be particularly powerful.

  • Every killer stays in their own respective realms. However, they can move between maps in their realms. HillBilly can go to any section of the corn fields he wants in between trials. i.e. Wraith can do one trial on Gas Heaven and then switch over to blood lodge. Canonly every killer has 5 maps all taking place in one realm. Which explains Ghost Face and Leather Face. And Legion members would have to take turns on 4/5 of their maps.

  • No. Its just for game play reasons.

  • Benedict has stated that you wake up there. Its unclear whether or not all survivors wake up at the same time but it seems likely that they would all be on a conscious alarm clock set by the entity. Because if you wake up first and no one else is awake your chances of survival a pretty low.

  • Freddy and Spirit are the only ones powerful enough to rip a hole through the entity. Freddy would take raw effort that would probably kill him, and Spirit would have to realize that the entity wasn't holding up his side of the deal first.

  • No. The Nurse was confirmed to have served the entity the longest. But she is not the oldest in time. Meaning, the Plague is the oldest but hasn't served the longest. Huntress is younger, but has been in the Entity longer.

  • The entity made a deal that he wouldn't hold up on. If the Entity let her get revenge her eternal rage would die out. After that she wouldn't kill. And no amount of torture would get her to kill again. She would be a resting spirit. With that said, Spirits rage is very very powerful. If she were to ever realize that the Entity isn't holding up his side of the Oath she would likely rip a rift in the entity and haunt her father.

  • The Legion probably hangs out. But that would be caused by the same reason the Clown gets his horse. The Legion Willfully kills for small periods of hang out time. As for the rest the've been confirmed to just wait for the next trial patiently. Or, they walk to another map in their realm. There have been mentions of Killers passing through the fog on their way to another pocket of the realm. So Wraith may walk to the Gas Heaven for his next trial. Exceptions make it so killers like Nurse may decide to stay away from Chapel because Clown camped out there, and because she murdered the Priest. And Huntress probably isn't allowed in the Plagues map because she is very territorial and would fight the Plague.

  • Very funny. But no. Pyramid head might be chasing someone down a corridor. But thats because the entity could be drawn there through tragedy. Hannah Montana was Miley Cyrus. She could also very well be there since tragedy followed her during her breakdown. But no one else.

  • I like to think she says "You are unfaithful. You are not worthy." or something along those lines.
