  • In most paid games that arent exploiting the player base content is free minus dlcs. This game just nickel and dimes you at every turn. You would thing maybe some free good stuff to build good will with its player base might happen especially after broken and unbalanced ######### day in and day out. But no they just give comically low blood points.

  • Ya I often have to take long breaks from this game as the grind is brutal and mostly pointless. I picked stardew back up now that 1.5 is out so it's not so bad to play a match or too then gtfo

  • It isnt just one chapter they make terrible choices without fail.

  • doesnt matter hex in general is still broken even with undying. the fact it only really works with non stack hex sucks too. It was a poor way to fix a bigger issue as is Behaviors way.

  • Lately its been pretty bad I have a solid connection too. A lot of times I get stutter when chasing or dont hit or do hit when I should. Games a mess.

  • Best is when they are all hanging around trying to rush in and you clearly know this, if none of them are doing gens why would I wander off. Camping Tunneling is just what they say when you did something the didnt like.

  • Personally i would be happy if it deacivated once exit gates are turned on, if they have DS left and doors are open you literally cannot get that person. you get to let them crawl to the exit because most games they are close enough to one of the exits. by the time you down them again.

  • I would hope the competition would make a better game. This game is fun but is so broken across the board. Killers being completely uneven, perks going from unusable trash to completly OP, Grindy system with less than stellar rewards, Pay walled items for a paid game. Every surv being the same if you have the same perks makes them just pallet swap. Whole game needs a overhaul.

  • Anything the Surv doesn't like is camping its sad really when they get some many free screw ups and a killer has to play a flawless game to be competitive.

  • Actually I am now on the side of every map if you don't have some form of movement boost.

Serious question: does anyone accuse killers of hook rushing when they start downing survivors left and right?

I've said it before and I'll say it again idk what's so bad about survivors focusing on generators as it is their main objective just like killing/hooking survivors is killers. Let me break it down some, as I've seen above some people say that "it becomes gen rushing when" ..

When survivors run toolboxes maybe it's for a challenge or maybe they just want to run a toolbox because it's an option available to them? Resilience may give them more progress speed but at noticeable disadvantages such as bleeding, grunting and dying in one hit. All that being said if someone wants to run Resilience + Spine Chill and live on the edge that's their choice to.

When survivors refuse to leave a gen to do side objectives such as totems or heal.. Seriously? Sometimes it's better to stick to the gen if you're safe to and finish it then heal after. Why would I leave a generator I've been working on to go search for Ruin/Undying as now the gen will begin regressing fast?

There are situations where it's completely justifiable to commit to the gen just like there are situations where it's right for killer to commit to certain chases and I never see anyone compare these and it bothers me.

The last point I'll make is I just don't get it when I'm watching killer gameplay and one singular gen pops and they start saying like "ahhh, gen rushers" like?? I understand when several pop quickly in succession but I seriously think killers just get way too upset sometimes when even one generator gets done and I GET IT it's anxiety inducing as a killer since that means they're closer to getting out but I beg you to please understand that in most scenarios, survivors are probably just doing the objectives they know to do and it really isn't that much more deep like myself personally.

I'm not good at looping killer because I'm still really new to this game so I try to be that person that's always in the background hiding and working on gens and the only time I come out is to unhook and help heal my teammates. Specifically I use deja vu to try and keep the team from being 3-genned. Does that make me a nasty gen rushing player? If playing smart is wrong then idk, maybe it's time to find a different game or play more killer bcuz I swear people just hate survivors so much sometimes it's weird and very alienating to new players.

Hook rushing as a single person... no Genrushing as 4 people yes how do u not get this. Killers without mobility buff get destroyed because of how unbalanced it is. The time it takes for a killer to down someone with the pallets, loops, blinds, ect, all that eats time that is not on the killers side to begin with.

  • By the very nature of 4 v 1 gen rush is a thing if you can pop 3 gens before i can even walk to more than 1 and down or let alone hit a surv it is an issue. And I am a red ranks normally 1-2 killer.

  • It isnt just new killers just trying different killers even if you are seasoned is terrible due too the rank system. New players also dont have access too many useful perks so even if they do well once they hit purple they are DOA. With killers you are solo so you could get a match with 3 survivors like you but odds are at least one of the is going to be specced to bait, save, heal, ect

Tofu has a video on that in which he suggests limiting the number of hex perks to 1 per build and all totems starting active contributing partially to hex function. Imagine each totem giving a ruin effect of 40% regression or 1 token of lullaby. That way the killer starts the game with a lot of pressure that gradually reduces as totems are cleansed. This gives the killer value in the beginning of the game (when they need the most) and also gives survivors other objectives besides gens.

The problem is reworking all hex perks, as not all are as easy as the 2 aforementioned and some have kind of supportive roles to other hexes (Thrill, Undying, Etc)

Like most aspects of the game a full rework is needed.

  • I really depends what killer you are. I enjoy trapper but all interior maps are hard to use traps on. It is all subjective. For me personally I think Haddonfield due to the fences if you aren't a mobility killer.

  • I main killer and it is like this. I 4k I tunnel, Cheat, Suck, kill myself. I get swept, I tunnel ,Cheat, Suck kill myself. Regardless of what I do im an ######### it appears.

  • I main red rank killers and I don't camp but even if I did 9/10 in red ranks if you sit there 4 gens will be done before that person dies on the hook. It is a loosing strategy. That said every time I don't wander off into a field like a moron when all 3 gens are together and I have someone on a hook im "Camping" no I just have a smaller area to defend. Survivors who let me have my last 3 gens near each other have basicly lost.

  • It really is a one sided problem I main killer and wait on average 5 seconds at any point of any given day. Survivors are much more of a gamble sometimes I get in at the right time and takes 1-2 minutes, other times its 20+ Im a single, just doing some old challenges for funs. Most of the time if I am waiting to long I either quit and play something else or go back to killer. Also im red ranks killer and green ranks Surv atm.

Just about every topic has been beaten to death here

I swear i am not trolling but seeing some of these people dig their heels in on what is clearly a cash grab is making me lol.

  • Id say Ruin But I run it in conjunction with OC seems like over kill but once they pop ruin and it is down to final few gens OC saves the day. Ruin Undying is also popular but I do not own blight. so this is my go too. OC often not always will give you a nice notification when they fail. I main Doctor and this is a very nice synergy.

Horrible analogy because you could simply go to a different place to eat - it won't be the same as McDonalds. When it comes to DLC/cosmetics for DbD there isn't really any other place to get them. The "value" is assigned by each person. Some people think a costume is worth $10...some don't. The cost is not some arbitrary number... there is a lot of research/marketing/psychology that goes into costs.

By go elsewhere I mean play/buy another game. If I can pay $20 for 2 outfits on DBD or buy a lot of solid titles for that on steam I would look quite a bit. I also do not think this model they have is sustainable long term, IF the reason they are selling cosmetics at such a high cost is to recoup cost then they need to retool completely.

  • I say doing constant vaults to alert you or to get attention, I know you want me to chase you and Im not going to but the auditory q's make playing harder.

  • @EvanSnowWolf said:

Well, for starters you don't need to buy them. They could cost $100 each and it wouldn't hurt your gameplay a lick.

I bought 35 dollars worth of cells and got the Meg outfit with the sweet abs and the Spirit armor set and still have 2100 cells or so left over in case something pops up in the future I am fully fine with this.

If you don't think it is worth it you are either broke or you don't want them very badly. If you are broke, well.... sorry. If you don't really want them then I don't see the issue.

It isn't that I am broke or dont want them. It is value for cost. If I go to Mcdonalds and want a burger but the burger is $12 and I dont buy it it isn't because I am not hungry it is because I can get more or better options for $12 elsewhere. Pricing the market in such a way I feel only ensures a tiny % of people will buy the items. Also if EVERYTHING minus licensed stuff could be obtained with shards I wouldnt have an issue.

This. Killers only need to learn 1 character while Survivors need to learn to play vs 22 of them.

And the same issues you have with dailies exist for survivors too. I havent levelled up every survivor I have unlocked. Some have garbage perks so there's no desire to get those as teachables.

Nevermind the fact you regularly go 3+ days of cancelling killer dailies just to have it replaced with another killer daily.

I get your point as well but the mechanics of your surv don't change only what you have to do against the particular killer. While what I am saying is the killers all have unique mechanics. If you have a Nea and a Dwight at level 50 with the same skills their is no difference in playing them. While a Level 50 Trapper Vs Doctor even with the same skills are vastly different play styles. It isn't a matter of fair or unfair for one side or the other, I just think it would help the MM even more so with the console player base added. Currently two rank 5 survivors can play on the same team and mm says its good. Well one might have 20 games under there belt and the other 500 it really isn't a great metric for ability.

Probably cuz of monthly rank resets. It'd take an insane amount of playtime to just maintain an accurate rank of how you play each killer.

The current system is flawed but I think individual ranks would be even worse.

This is why I think it needs at least two weight factors or more totals matches, matches with that killer, and killer rank or win rate.. Q times for killers are instant so the time increase of finding a fair match isn't a issue to me, but I know the other side is slow, but waiting 5 minutes for a good match or 8 minutes for a trash MM id rather wait the extra 3. Obviously Im pulling these numbers out of the air but you get the point.
