I had an idea - what about a fully customizable survivors that you can purchase cosmetics for - make your own avatar survivor like a MMO - blood points can buy eye colors, skin tones, hair styles, outfits, etc. that you can play in a trial.
I think this would give us something to spend BP on, would also drum up more survivor players, and even help address queue times.
-
Unless you have something constructive to offer to the conversation beyond "not gonna happen", please move along.
-
Today I capped on BP AGAIN… still nothing to spend them on. All these 400% bonuses, login bonuses, reward codes, etc. are not incentivizing at all for veteran players. Veterans have have a lot of influence on the games growth - for example, I've been spending the last few weeks teaching my sister and about 4 of her friends how to play the game. I'd imagine there are similar stories all over the place. If Behavior can't keep the veteran players around, the game is gonna dry up.

I'd just like my inventories to be shared on survivors, maybe item skins or something could be cool.
The mobile version of DBD has arguably better skins than the PC/Console versions of the game ever has! They could bring these in as BP-exclusive skins or something like that. Here are just a few I found through Google.

As a killer main, Unknown isn't that OP. I'm no professional when playing him (Dredge is my baby) but Unknown is fun to mess around with.
With the amount of "clutter" in maps these days, your projectile is 80%-90% of the time bouncing in the wrong direction, hits invisible walls/trees, passing through the survivor to then bounce and the explosion happens beyond them, etc. This isn't to say people who have mastered him can't do some wickedly sick shots with his power, but I'd hardly think he needs a nerf or a rework of some kind. -
-
-
Yeah - I've been going through the bug reports and I'm shocked with how bad this map is - doesn't seem there's any killer not having a negative experience on the map, and now even the survivors.

She has an addon that only lets you only see and deposit to one specific TV much like Freddys clocks. You can't see The aura until you get close enough. Did you make sure it wasn't that addon first?
Positive - she was using the following:
- Yellow Addon - "Clump of Hair" - Reduces the range at which The Onryō is visible while Demanifested by -6 metres.Reduces the range at which The Onryō is visible while Demanifested by -6 metres.
- Brown Addon - Mother's Mirror - Increases the duration of the intermittent visibility phase after Manifesting by +2 seconds.
There was nothing perk-wise to explain it either - BBQ and Chilli, Noed, Merciless Storm, Call of Brine.
-
This is like not seeing the aura of Pinhead's box, or Pig's boxes. It's so beyond broken that we have 3 choices - DC, ######### on hook, or die to Condemn.

I'm confused. I thought we wanted a massive shake up of the game/perks/meta... or is that only when it benefits killers?
I don't recall killers getting a ton of perks made base kit so they can now walk around with 7-8 perks each in a game.
-
I like how no one asked for a "Finishing Mori" system that now BUFFS THE HELL out of every survivor by giving them ANOTHER free perk and taking away the slugging mechanic from Killers, is somehow a good idea, but they make ZERO effort to combat the hacking and cheating problem that's literally destroying the game already.
Slap a few Sabo builds on a SWF and spread in some Flip-Flop, Breakout, Breakdown, and Flashlights in combination with all the new base-kit ######### they now have, and you have completely decimated your Killer Base by denying them hooks.
This seriously makes me want to quit the game for good.
-
If they entire game revolves around 4 survivor perks to avoid "tunneling" that without would completely destroy matches, then is seems fair to say DBD is pretty trash and unbalanced then, isn't it?
-
@Icaurs said:
Do you want to know what would happen if they removed meta perks for both sides?
Survivors will do generators at speed that no reasonable killer can keep up with, due to the killers lacking anti gen perks to deal with it. To compensate killers who sometimes camp, will start camping even more because they no longer have the threat of BT/DS and know there is no penalty for using this playstyle. A better idea would be to make certain perks on both sides basekit and seeing what happens.

All I see happening here is killers face camping and slugging their way through 1000's of kills because survivors will have absolutely no way to oppose it without Unbreakable or Borrowed Time. That's an MMR test that wouldn't even last 12 hours before getting cancelled.
Other Gen Slow downs that can be used instead: Surge, Thanatophopia, Oppression, Eruption, Call of Brine, Hex: Pentimento, Dying Light
Some Skill-check inhibitors: Hex: Huntress Lullaby, Merciless Storm, Overcharge, Unnerving Presence
So not sure what you're talking about that there are no other slow down perks but Ruin, Pop, and Corrupt? Expand your horizons man...
And Face camping doesn't work most of the time - you camp one guy on hook, while the other three knock out 3 gens (if they are smart). Killer Face camps the 2nd hooked survivor and they finish the last 2 gens. Boring game, but easily counter-able and will not result in a 4-kill match.

The 50% only applies to your base score which is 32k so you get and extra 16k.
Oh. I see. That makes more sense, but a little confusing at face value. Thank you for clearing that up for me!

It fires when there's only two remaining locations for survivors to have to be, though. With a 4% speed boost and a bit of spawn-RNG, it can become pretty oppressive.
But either way, doing four totems and then getting smacked once after gen 5 is done to get killed by NOED, only to have people on the forums throwing out a 2 IQ 'dO bONeS' is immensely frustrating.
Clairvoyance
Counterforce
Detective's Hunch
Small Game
MAPS
Yeah... if you're that worried about totems, find and break them. And Hex Totems do NOT overwrite a Boon Totem... so break 4, one boon, no noed. Most successful group I see have one person come in with a map and their sole job is to break dull and hex totems.

Ghost Face is a licensed character and got a Blighted skin.
The new RCPD map is a licensed map with Blighted areas.
Demo has three cosmetics sets, one of which is some chains and the other two of which I'm pretty sure are original creations. A Blighted set would have been very fitting for him and of all licensed characters he'd be the next most likely to get one given his other original cosmetics.
Anyway, we know a Blighted skin isn't coming. This is just a "man, wouldn't that have been awesome" daydreamy thread about what cosmetics we'd like to see.
Ghost Face is an original character - the mask is licensed from I think FunWorld, but he himself is unique to DBD and can be blighted.
The RCPD was a licensed collaboration between Behavior and the license holders. Part of the contract.
-
Licensed Killers really done get much in the skin department. None of them have blighted skins and they have been around for a LONG time.
Freddy, Pig, Myers, Bubba, Pyramid Head, Nemesis, Demo.
They are all pretty limited/bound to their source material for skins - Blighted stuff really can’t be done for them.
-
Seems to be a lot of overly dramatic flip outs that impacts little to nothing in the game.
First, This is the risk of using characters from other creators. It happens. Licenses expire, aren’t renewed, deals broken, etc. We can cry and speculate the loss of ALL the licenses, but given we’ve had Pig and Freddy for years with no issues, we can all take a chill pill.
We are losing a map no one likes to play (except peek-a-boo Myers), and losing the ability to buy these characters in the future. That’s it.
Nancy and Steve’s characters and perks will remain in the game (that no one uses to be frank).
Demo will still be subject to balance changes as that’s an aspect of the character created and owned by Behavior (cool downs, performance adjustments, add ons, debugging). Visual updates can still be performed to maintain game stability and performance.
just because this ONE license is gone does not they go into a block box and are untouchable. There just won’t be any new skins or cosmetics nor additional access to the characters. Think if it like the legacy skins.
DBD is not hitting rock bottom, they aren’t going bankrupt, they aren’t losing all their licenses, they aren’t shutting down the game.
So chill out and stop with the theatrics and calling the loss of ONE license as hitting “rock bottom”

I've never seen the Hellraiser movies, so I'm not emotionally invested in it. Though wasn't it disclosed that the new killer would have a Legendary Skin set available? How would that play into Hellraiser? I've only ever seen him in the same outfit - long black trench coat.
If it were Springtrap we could expect to see Legendary skins for Chika, Bonny, Freddy, and Foxy.
Maybe I'm biased, but I'm really hoping it's Springtrap

Another 4-man SWF.... getting really old...
-
Matchmaking is TRASH
-
Next game. This is getting old...
-
Another 4-man SWF group and broken match making. DBD, PLEASE get your ######### together... your game is going down the path of going out of business if you don't get your systems fixed. It's been YEARS - you're out of excuses. We don't want more skins, we don't want more reworked maps, we don't want nerfs, we want you to fix your matchmaking.
-
@Nathan13 said:
why were you not using perks???
The POINT was the matchmaking and getting put against SWF Groups near constantly. I'll upload a new image here in a bit
-
@WillApollo said:
Youre not...using any perks? What did you expect? to 4k as the weakest killer in the game at purple ranks without perks? You must be trolling. Theres like 4 meta perks total in those builds. Swf is not the problem here.
You missed the point. It's not about win or lose, it's the fact you get 2-3 man SWF that ruin the experience. Perks or no perks, doesn't change being put against SWF and a rank system that is so broken it's not work playing killer anymore.
-
EVERY game looks like this. This time I wasn't trying cause I just needed the daily completed, but all my games are putting me against red ranks. I didn't get a single hook that game.

The thing that confuses me is the fact that everyone says that if you made it so killers could choose to go against SWF or not they would all choose not to. To me that should really show how much of an issue it is if everyone would just choose to avoid them all together.
I'm not sure if you are familiar with World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy XIV group finders. If they are low on tanks, or healers, there's bonus loot/gold offered to incentivize people to queue up as these roles they would otherwise avoid. Introduce the same concept here -
"Hey killer, we have a SWF group looking for a killer. There's a bonus 10k Bloodpoints in doing so."
-
@EvanSnowWolf said:
Please explain to me how you "do away" with a function that the developers have ZERO control over.
Since you can't directly fix the problem, you work around it, but you don't ignore it completely.

"Hey killer, we have a SWF group looking for a killer. If you queue for this, we'll give you a bonus 10,000 bloodpoints. Since it's a more challenging match, there should be a reward for putting up with it.
