  • Technically, this one was a bug but everyone loved it and thought it was intended at first:

When Huntress had her debut, every time you would land a hatchet hit, the sound that played was the thunder sound when you break a hex (not the one you hear now).... And OMG it was SO SEXY and awesome.

Just like a lot of cool things, it was removed - or fixed in this case.

I love this question, because it's a good reminder that both sides are necessary to make the game worth playing.

Personally, my favorite matches are when the Killer is playful. After sweat matches or failing a challenge, I just enjoy coming across a Killer that does bonkers #########.

Miss a hit? Throw a temper tantrum by turning in circles.

Have a survivor point at you accusingly? Shake your head like they hurt your feelings and go chase another.

I love when it's a Ghostface and we can face off spamming crouch.

This is just me, and I know it can be hard to communicate intent between the two sides. But when they align...*sigh* it's beautiful.

This is usually how I play as killer... It's too taxing to take serious all the time and I think it's way more fun to do stuff that is either memey/ridiculous, genuinely DGAFing about your kill count.

Ill totally throw tantrums for those really close missed hits, insidious camp items with Franklin's (amazing fun by the way), let them snoot boop, if they motion "no" and point I'll leave etc. Some of the off the wall stuff you are able to do is down right hilarious at times, same with survivor. I thought I was the only one who appreciates that kind of thing

  • That may be, but he totally looks like video game Cote. It's all I see now.

Pretty sure hatch is spawned but just invisible and uninteractable until the conditions for it appearing are met.

This. I remember reading this a long time ago and it was in regards to maps tracking hatch. The SPAWN LOCATION is predetermined at the start of the mach by "random" but isn't visible until conditions are met. If you pass this spot, a map which can track the hatch will mark it even though it's not yet visible.

i just discovered Mathiue Cote is dwight

Yep. Even creepier is that bald dwight with beard and glasses is Puppers... like, almost exactly.

  • This is a very well done video, hat tip on the effort you put into it first of all.

I had honestly forgotten about this since so much time had gone by. I started playing in December 2016 so I never experienced the "true" grind.... But the grind even then was SO much more than it is now.

Maybe it's because I'm older and value my time so much more than when I was younger, but I feel like hundreds (if not thousands) of hours invested is truly something, especially if it is difficult. So while I never had Legacy, my LOP after 600 hrs was a knife to the heart and indescribably deflating... I can't even begin to imagine having lost Legacy Prestige.

I stand 100% in solidarity with all these players who lost their Legacy. I feel bad that I ever even complained about how long it took to get my BP refund. Of course, we need to acknowledge how sacred those cosmetics are and not allow them to be falsely awarded to undeserving people - which I think is the dev's (and should be our) main concern.

But given the dedication of their early fan base and amount of enthusiasm shown for what was a very troubled-but-fun game, I feel like the dev's owe it to the true Legacy players to appoint a small team dedicated to proper Legacy restoration. I think the entire community collectively has bought enough DLC and skins alone to fund that project... Not to mention the sheer volume of new players who we're brought to the game by these early die-hards. Do right by the players, build/maintain community trust, put the issue to bed forever. That's my $.02

I like scary stuff as much as the next guy, but just adding blood and gore isn't going to make it scary again. At some point, you just get hardened to the horror aspect of the game.

Agreed, except for the implication that it is normal to get used to the horror element. There are ways to make it legitimately terrifying to be a survivor regularly.... Problem is the things that are scary right now become unscary once you play a bit.

  • Getting DS'd....

    DEDICATED SERVERED! ba dum tss

I'll be here all week folks.

  • Controversial new mechanic for killers:

killer can kick lockers which tacos the doors and renders the locker completely unusable by survivors for the remainder of the match*

*this can only be done for a short time after you are stunned by head-on or find a survivor in a locker.

**if a survivor jumps into said locker during the kick window, they are immediately impaled by the doors and killed if it gets kicked.

If you don't want to get DS'd then play around it. It's not hard.

    GFG.

It does really help to read posts instead of reading one phrase and responding with something that makes zero sense given the context

  • Very true... Cosmetics is only a good thing, I think my major hangup is the push for constant new chapters all the time when what came before it is far from optimized.

If it got to the point of being legitimately competitive, they wouldn't have to crank out new boring chapters. Just a thought.

  • After I hit my 1000 hrs (personal milestone) I really found myself questioning how much fun vs frustrating this game is in it's current state and ultimately uninstalled. Here's why

I was attracted to the horror and feeling of intense fear/excitement at first, which as we all know goes away very quickly.... Now I catch myself mumbling things like "hope I don't get DS'd", the plot twist is I could be a survivor and am referring to dedicated servers (it's not just a killer term anymore, which feels VERY weird). Not to mention the specific frustrations such as hits that you see land as killer but don't translate to an actual hit, exhaustion bugs, grabs, hitbox everything... All the stuff you've heard about, beaten to death, over and over again.

Now I understand that a good video game is meant to frustrate you to a certain degree so as to encourage you to feel like you can do better and overcome... DBD is so far beyond this right now it's jaw dropping.

I wish they would perform a complete overhaul of their approach to updates and new content... We have SO MANY killers, survivors, maps, items, perks and the endless combinations of procedural generation. PLEASE STOP MAKING NEW UNDERWHELMING CONTENT AND POLISH WHAT WE ALREADY HAVE TO A HIGH, COMPETITIVE SHINE. Please, I'm actually begging.

I want my awesome, unique, SCARY, FUN cat and mouse hook murder game back.... Not what we have now. So until that happens, I'll return to my old favorites.... Or maybe give Squad a try.

    GG

You know, the little I play survivor ive gone up against maybe 5 hags total. I brings me some satisfaction knowing my main ear rapes survivors on a daily basis.

Bro... you have no idea. Between the legit jump-scare adrenaline rushes and constant loud noises, Hag can be miserable to play against if you're ill equipped.

  • .... sorta like hag traps?

    RIP my ears every time

  • Please god no.

I don't think anyone would argue there is a lack of VARIETY of killers in this game... the problem is all the arguments/perspectives you see that one or the other isn't very useful in a lot of circumstances.

So again, please god no... no more killers or survivors. This game has so much to work with, it just needs to be polished to a high shine. The core of greatness is already there.
