  • I too have been playing since January of this year. Some of these complaints are valid, like the lack of information on how perks and status effects work. Most are not. Is playing killer stressful? Yes. You're one person chasing four others across sometimes large maps. You're always thinking ahead, or a should be. Is looping easy? Not for most people. I'm not very good at it, but I'm ok. Here the dirty secret though: you only need a chase to last about 40 seconds for it to be effective. This can be achieved by literally running in a straight line. Just avoid getting hit twice in ten seconds and you're probably good. After this, it's about teamwork. Most survivor frustrations are team issues, but they do blame killer a bunch.

Killer issues are real. It is stressful. It takes time to figure out what gen to protect, where you think they'll go next, how to run tiles to your advantage. Even then it won't always go right. Just be ok with losing some games though.

The hardest part for a new player is the nuance of the game. As killer, how to use each killers power. How to blend in the add ons with each power effectively. How to blend in perks too. Perks and add-ons should djust your playstyle, but often killers don't act differently with different perks and add-ons. Mistake. As survivor, learning how to blend in perks into a playstyle while also learning killer perks so you can predict killer movement. This is the hardest part since there are like 170 perks. But this is also the fun of the game. The mechanics are simple, so building the nuance is what makes the game special.

Try to have fun more and not be obsessed with your idea of winning and the game is much better. As survivor I don't run DS or unbreakable. I have borrowed time for maybe 3 characters. I like to run one or two of each characters unique teachables when possible and I'm still rank 1-2 without being a strong looper. 85% of this game is doing the right thing at the right time, not loop the killer for 5 gens. Relax more, enjoy the Mori animation, and on to the next!

  • Killer

Dark devotion - no terror radius for a bit and then obsession carries the TR which confuses the heck out of the survivors

Furtive Chase - as the game goes on you get more and more stealthy. It's also confusing as they expect you to be what you were in the beginning with say a 32m TR and now it's 16 and they're playing a game against a leatherface with a Myers TR

Stridor - for killers with poor chase or line of sight issues

    Survivors

Open handed - paired with rainbow map (hatch finding) or kindred and u get sooo much more information (easier in swf so u don't need to have both kindred and open handed)

Ace in the whole - items are game changers

    Plunderers.

having 3 good items almost every game can be very clutch sometimes xD

i love when i pull a purple flashlight, give it to someone and they then flashlight save me from the killer xD

Ace in the hole - guaranteed to get an item with attachment. Sometimes two attachments. Paired with plunderers and your chest openings are like Christmas. Skeleton keys, rainbow map, purple medkits plus charge add ons. I use it to just supply the team as we move about

Should i show you my old screenshots of a rank 4 killer loosing against a rank 15 swf now? There are always extreme examples, but also math and facts dude.

Math and facts showed that no individual killer character had a kill rate less than ~60%. That means more survivors die than don't. That being said, the game tilts towards survivors it's just that most survivors aren't great at it. I'm one of those not great survivors, but I'm rank 4. Still, things are mostly balanced. And the update removes the infinite loops so it should be all good.

If that were truly the case, you'd have earned nothing. This game is point based. You do well, you earn points. Why else would it order the survivors by how many points they earned. You earn points for upgrading your characters. Higher levels, better stuff. If you stick with Trapper, there's an add-on that makes it so that anyone that escapes your traps without assistance goes into the dying state. There's even one that makes it so every 30 seconds, one of your closed traps resets itself so you don't have to. All of these require blood points. So that's how I gauge victory.

Unless that stupid Dwight tea bags at me every time he drops a pallet and clicks that flashlight at me. Then the only victory is making sure his insides decorate the countryside...

But other than that, yeah, blood points.

I agree with this guy. Most great killer mains have all the perks available for all the killers. And all the best add ons for the killers. I'm a solid killer but I have very few killers above level 35 which means my perk loadouts and add ons are limited. So games are harder because I can't tailor a build to the killer perfectly. Blood points make that happen. If everyone escapes and you drop 25k points in the match, u did really well. U had pressure on them, they were on hooks left and right, spent lots of the game injured, etc. They cleared the gates, oh well. Your scores look good most of those games, some look rough but it happens to all killers and all survivors. Earlier today walloped a rank 1 spirit. He's rank 1, so he's good. We still wrecked. I'm not a good survivor either. I'm ok at looping but not great and bad at mind games for survivor. And as survivor, we get smashed all the time and the killer kills all 4 people with 4-5 gens left.

So remember the games where you, as killer, killed all 4 with them completing 0-1 gens. That game is the survivor side equivalent of a killer getting ran out of the building except survivors probably only had 5-8k points in that game where you stomped them. So, my point is that this works both ways. It sucks getting pounded but it happens to both sides and you yourself have likely been the stomped and the stomper.

To build off the earlier posts. I also have not gained progress in a bunch mentioned, as well as Selfless Survival, Not Today, Silent Approach, Bodyguard, and Wounded Healer (which I believe I should be done with now)

Mine started working again yesterday. So far so good.

im not sure about all achievements but I have seen any to do with deathslinger have not been working for me including adept

I made progress on achievements just fine until yesterday. Since then? Nothing. So it's something recent. Scrolling the bug reports there are a bunch of others listing achievements that aren't working. Since I had so many fail, I figured it was all achievements.
