What do you think is honestly the best killer, best ability, best map pressure, just overall makes you pee your pants when you see one in your game, and last of all, with add ons included, will it still be the best?

IMO Best killer in my opinion is Cannibal. Crazy speed, great map pressure, and good speed. His add-ons aren't too bad but I think it keeps him at the top of the list, but maybe competing with Spirit aswell, another great killer imo

Worst killer IMO? Wraith. You can easily see him walking around while invisible and have plenty of time to vault or run away as hes uncloaking, and his add-ons don't really make him THAT strong, even the ultra-rare ones are mediocre at best.

Wraiths getting a buff BTW, you can't see his shimmer if it's a certain distance away anymore so you can't detect him coming halfway across the map. They talked about it in the dev stream.

Worst killer is legion imo. But I rarely use them so I might just suck with them.

And my heart will always belong to the Nurse, even with the nerf. She's just an anti toxic/troll killer and I love it!

  • Jill or Chris as survivors... Has to be!

Leon's great, and it would even be good to have a Barry as Barry would have a great perk set especially with his specialisation in hand to hand combat with knives... New DS type perk?

But yeah, Chris and Jill are the two iconic faces of Resi.

As for a boss, Wesker would also work as Birkin for the same reasons. And Wesker is far more iconic than Birkin, with a greater back story and ties to the S.T.A.R.S agents, bringing in plausible obsession perks.

First off, don't paint us all with the same brush. We don't all tunnel, and if it was a nurse you went up against, us nurse mains don't need to tunnel. It's actually a hinderence and allows others to pop those gens faster, we have a power and add ons that give us immense map control.

To say you never encounter an inexperienced killer at red ranks is simply not true. He might not have a nurse main and be doing dailies, not very good with the nurse and just tunneled to get that last hook objective for his blood points.

This is why the Devs are changing the way the ranks work so that your rank is irrelevant to matchmaking but bringing out akillers individual skill rank that is.

For you to turn around like 'Oh mah gay I'm playing toxic!' is just toxic... But again I'm a Nurse, I don't mind toxic, toxic players die when they meet a good nurse.

Keep your head down, don't let her see you next time.

    *oh mah gah!

So I got caught and hooked just to be camped. Once saved was tunneled non stop until death on hook. Then they just let everyone else finish gens and leave. #########? This is why I rather run the meta perks and play toxic because when I try to be different I get screwed. So back to the usual easy escape builds and toxic play. Killers whine and complain but continue to be toxic aswell. Screw it. Cant beat'em join'em.

There's a reason I main Nurse and Oni and that Infectious Fright is my favorite perk :).

My build is quite similar to yours but I actually use Discordance instead of Nurse's Caliing. It's also quite good for slug potential.

Edit: just ignore people that get mad about it, imo it's better to face a slugging Nurse than one that uses Ruin/Undying.

See I was thinking of trying that other perk... I forget the name the one where all regressing gens are highlighted in white.

That seems logical for the build...

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/214366/im-a-slug-killer-i-love-it

Slugging is how you play the game at high ranks. Also "tunneling" is important. Nothing controversial here, but you said it as if in defiance of something..... Which I guess worked because alot of people got really pissy at you ITT, but it's absolutely not controversial to play that way.

To be fair man it's genuinely my first time playing this way.

I've always been overly fair in my matches and it's only from reading posts here I've realised I'm being too lenient and sacrificing my own fun and progression for the sake of the survivors enjoyment.

So I was merely here to discuss my new found love for this type of play and my build.

Best part is all the people replying about nobody caring but cared enough to comment about not caring.

  • I've made 21 posts on the forum, I'm fairly unexperienced at the game and I'm only just discovering these new builds you guys have seen all before.

So sorry that I'm behind, catching up and want to discuss my new findings with the forums.

I thought there was a community here πŸ˜•

I love killers like you because i run WGLF and your giving me free BP. btw nice bait thread, i know your trying to get a rise out of people but you need to try a little harder. maybe, "i slug, run noed and camp hooks" next time. adios.

    Good, glad to help lol.

And it isn't a bait, there were always gonna be those who disagree and those who agree, but there would be no discussion if there weren't.

I haven't belittled or trolled anybody, merely elaborated on my reasoning.

    Not everybody is pure toxic.

I mean Nurse is a sluggish killer, no surprise if you get good games when you slug as her.

Right? This is my point. It's literally her strength.

Removing sloppy makes more sense, since this perk doesn't affect recovery speed anyways.

Sloppy and Nurses go hand in hand.

Sometimes I take a hit and run approach, if they're injured that's a good thing.

And the amount of people I've tracked during fatigue from their grunts is insane.

  • @Nosferatu3145 said:

I would change nurse's calling for knockout, then your slug build would be completed.

Nah I'm so precise with my nurses calling blinks, it's literally my crutch haha.

  • I want to point out too I don't just slug and leave, I only go after another if I know there is another there. If nobody else is around then whoever down start to go on the hooks lol.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

I feel like it would get painfully boring as both survivor AND for you as a killer but you do you. If you find it fun somehow, slug away.

It's only boring against really dumb teams.

But my build can be countered just like any other, it's just a different playstyle.

Thinks like decisive strike and flashlight saves become useless, but unbreakable has screwed me over loads.

Smart survivors notice the scream from infectious and stay away, forcing me to hook for BBQ as I don't run whispers.

It's not an op god build, you just need to recognise its different to every over killer running the same meta.

  • @TWiXT said:

Whispers is Consistent, but vague in survivor detection. Spies is spotty, but gives you direct knowledge of the survivors location. To me, Whispers is a superior of the 2 however, because of its consistency, whereas Spies relies heavily on the survivors disturbing crows, but the crows have a 4 meter activation range, and much fewer spawn points than they should. Whispers works very well on every map, while Spies is either your best friend or completely useless depending on the map you get.

Take Rotten Fields for example: Here's an entire Cornfield without a single scarecrow, and for some reason the crows all hang out on the edges of the map as far away from the corn as possible. In direct contrast to this there's Treatment Theater, an indoor map wherein with Spies you can't help but become overwhelmed with explosions until you start screaming "How'd all these freaking birds get in here?"

When It comes to tracking survivors, I find that consistency is overall much better than accuracy when comparing Whispers to Spies. I also Propose that Spies could use a small but nice overhaul to how it works to make it more appealing, and much less annoying:

Spies from the Shadows:Β The Crows no longer respond to your presence, you see the auras of all crows within 36 meters of you, and disturbed crows are 100% louder to you within that range.

This proposal gets rid of the confusing/annoying explosion sound notifications, you get no false signals since crows no longer respond to you, and they basically become little signal flares to tell you where survivors are. If this change were to happen, Spies would become a better tracking tool, and really fit the description of the perk which says: "The Crows found in the world can communicate directly with you."

If they also filled more dead zones (corn fields, etc.) with crows, that would also be nice for helping this perk gain a better level of consistency, but until then, Whispers beats Spies every time IMO.

Most informative. Thank you kind sir.

Yeah I feel that you're right in the terms of relying on the crows, and I didnt actually realise that about the cornfield!

I have my whole load out based around locating the survivors though. Due to blinks I feel logically the nurse only needs to know where people are, if you blink properly chases shouldn't be long so hindrance isn't really needed. For example if they want to pop the gen, let them pop the gen. It's another notifier of your area, where you're probably gonna sprint into a crow as I blink over there.

So I spend much more time flying from point to point rather than actually searching at all. Frantically jumping between gens when I don't have sight of one.

So I feel, in a personal scenario, even with its setbacks spies outweighs whispers.

  • @Mattie_MayhemOG said:

The issue with Spies is it works much better on certain maps and unless you are always using an offering its unreliable.

In what way is it unreliable and which offerings effect its reliability? Out of curiosity? Not sure what you mean by that.

In regards to it working better on some maps than others, I believe that to be dependant upon the killer?

Nurse has no problems with it on any map. Huntress however would struggle on an indoor/multi level map but even then whispers would be just as useless.

  • @BoingBoingMelon said:

You sound like the guy who said that Wraith was Top tier lol

    Can you elaborate on that?

  • @coppersly said:

Spies is an awesome perk for Nurse for lots of reasons you listed. Especially the sudden appearance in an area frightening most survivors and causing them to run trigger a crow and telling me where they are even if I had no idea they were somewhere nearby.

Also the recharge nerf is significant. You blink >50% less than before without both CD addons.

I have a counter argument for the nurse nerf, but I shall create another thread for that for another discussion haha.

In regards to spies, yeah... I can't believe I never ran it before!

  • @Leachy_Jr said:

No, Decisive prevents tunnelling (or heavily reduces it), basically giving 4 man SWFs a second life as you cant 12 hook a good 4 man.

Your real only choice is getting someone out of the game ASAP, which decisive screws over.

The ability to abuse it is just another added effect to its design.

    Depends on the killer.

Personally, DS has never hindered me that much, even when I'm not playing nurse.

But then I guess I don't tunnel. The only time it's really screwed me over and is endgates.

Watching a survivor run out those endgates after they just got rush rescued and you blinked in front of them is a killer.

  • @megswifey said:

People who rush an unhook in a safe situation (other teammates are working on gens, killer is leaving area) immediately make the game riskier in a less fun way. You didn't do that at all, and having to pressure at 2 or 3 gens is fine. No matter how you play, someone is bound to get upset. I've had matches where I'm doing gens with people, saving teammates, and doing well in chases, and I still get a cocky killer hitting me at the hook and spinning around to say 'you lose' I think? Still don't understand why people hit multiple times at the hook if they've been tame lol. But the thing that helps me is knowing that I played well and it's just a game! So, good luck in your next matches and have fun :)!

To be honest, I do the hook slash thing haha! Not constantly though.

Like you say, from my perspective it's more of a 'ha! Got you! Slippery little *bleep*!' because they've just juked and ran me around half the match. Basically, you did well young one... Now bleed lmao.

Although I have played a survivor sometimes where a killer does this every hook he gets. That I don't understand.

  • I'm with you on this.

Whenever I played as a surv (killer main) Freddy was always a massive problem for me.

Now? I run circles around him. And I'm not a pro survivor by any means whatsoever.

  • Never had a problem with flashlights. I don't know if I have some mad gifted power from the gods above or something, but I really don't understand why people complain about them.

Keep your back to the flashlight at all times. It's really not that difficult especially on PC with a mouse.

  • I think it depends on the killer, as a Nurse main for example, it's simply not needed.

Bitter Murmer literally shows me where you are when you pop that gen. You wanna pop it? Be my guest.

I find aura reading abilities far far far more useful, combine it with BBQ and Nurses, you pretty much know where everybody is most the time.

  • @RamblinRango said:

As a survivor, the thing I hate most is when I get rescued almost instantly after being hooked.

No you're not cute or skilled, the killer plays in first person with a limited FOV, anybody can lodge their head up his ass while he's carrying someone.

You're wasting time that could've been spent repairing, you're putting me in serious danger and wasting Kindred (which I always have as a solo) and you're making bad plays imo so when push comes to shove, if I survive your horrible rescue attempt... I'm letting him take your ass and earning my sweet escape BP. Not even sorry.

Let me sit on the hook a little in the first phase, I'M LITERALLY ASKING FOR IT!

I literally just made a thread from the killers perspective, talking about this exact thing then getting called a tunneler or camper.

No mate, you just unhooked a survivor while I'm one blink away, what did you think was going to happen? Lmao

  • I guess that's the thing about opinions, they're going to differ and they're subjective. But that's what creates healthy discussion.

Personally, I see a dramatic change. Don't get me wrong, there has always been toxic behaviour and early game mechanics got abused, a lot.

But as somebody who has took a massive break and come back to a literally different game, I have noticed a huge increase in this behaviour. Maybe because its more popular now? Idk...

  • @weirdkid5 said:

Just stop caring about what survivors say and play how you want to play.

Oh I don't, I said at the end it doesn't bother me and sometimes it's funny.

But what does bother me, is it never used to be this bad and I made a lot of good friends on here. It just seems to hard to do that now, everybody feels so hard done to all the time.
