😄 if killers dc because of swf they wouldnt get many matches. They should probably play a softer game

  • @roundpitt said:

    Killers will just disconnect.

Killers usually assume theres a swf anyway. Its so common that most will just play. If they dc maybe the survivors get a 5k bp.

    Hello fellow players.

I love DBD, as a survivor and as a killer. I need to put on the table (again) a problem we all know but seems the devs don't want to touch at all, I get making a game is not an easy task, less a successful one like this game; but thing is, as a killer you can have good games against noobs, good games were for both sides were really close and exciting and, the more common as you go up to the ranks: unfair games.

Time ago the game got some buffs to killer side stuff, and actually helped after a loooong time asking for them. But it is still a PROBLEM the SWF games.

It's been a whole week since I hit gold were I got teams that are totally coordinated, to describe one type of game example I've been getting most: by the time I get 1 or 2 survivors down, depending if they loop good and create time using dead hard (1 hook each) I get two pops of gens, when I try to get a second one (or a third down) I get a third gen and a few minutes later a fourth. By the time I get 3 or 4 hooks (no sacrifice) the doors are activated, they help each other with body blockings and flashlights were it is obvious they are together, while I chase one the other is very close ready to blind me when I get that one on my shoulder, while I chase again the other survivors cross ways to create chaotic scratch marks on the floor (just to mention ONE kind of game I've been getting as an example of coordination). And when the doors are activated, there is already one waiting on the switch. And of course I get the teabaging and flashlight spam at me.

As a survivor I get there are unfair games too when you play solo, most games as solo survivor are very frustrating and less others you find good teammates, the game NEEDS team work to function, the problem is that the line of being unfair is very easy to cross, as a killer against survivors solo or as a full 4 SWF against a killer.

As a killer, the SWF games are not just the obvious good cordination of 4 against 1, but they make some perks totally useless to the killer as we try to create "pressure", they just talk on discord or console voice chat saying everything like "ok don't go there", "wait run and hide he is going there". To mention just one simple example of a lot that exists: the Nemesis addon to be invisible after killing a zombie is to have the oportunity to create a sneak attack, but these 3 days it's useless, I do it and when I'm getting my way to a gen behind walls, I can see them from distance just run all directions from the gen where they had NO chance to see me comming, it's obvious the person I just hooked told them my terror radius dissapeared.

I have tried to change perks combinations with actual strategies: pressure to gens perks, winning time perks at the start, being "harder" to them as they fix gens (the nightmare fire up for example with dying light); ending game perks, but nothing works. Even hex are useless, most SWF teams destroys totems just at the first 3 minutes or the time you use to take down one survivor (loops, dead hards, pallets) and then as a killer you get now useless perks for the rest of the game. I have combine a lot of perks but the SWF games are so broken that they keep winning time very well. To say I get 1 single sacrifice on those games is something rare, mostly everyone escapes.

And yes, I try not to facecamp. I HATE it as a survivor and as a killer is no fun tbh, and even when I tried 2 games to make that, while I hit one, other takes the survivor free, and the third bodyblock and recieve protection hits, and thats all, everyone escaped as the door was opened or just needed one touch.

Dead hards, voice chats advices that makes some killer perks and addons useless, coordinated actions, some maps that have double windows loops one after another, the perk I don't recall the name that makes survivors go faster after vault a window or falling, endless pallets, flashlights that blinds even before the "taking" a fallen survivor animation ends... all this are really working against killers time with well coordinated SWF. I have to admit I disconected a couple of games where I even thought there could be hacks, not even 5 or 6 minutes passed and I get one hook or Im about to get a second one I get 3 gens fixed (one of those two games I remember even the Rebecca I was chasing stopped and flash spamed me with teabagging when I got 3 gens pop at the same moment, I already had one fixed before those 3, so yeah 4 gens.) even some friends that are survivor mains see me play those games and they say, IT IS surivor sided when a good SWF team appears. And yep, they hate to play killer because of how frustrating can get, they don't want to play against those teams.

Thing is... I understand if the devs buff more the killer side, it's gonna be totally impossible for the solo survivors or noobs. The game really needs to find some more balance, but really as a more killer side player myself, it's more frustating than being a survivor. On high ranks for every 10 games, 7 are unfair to the killer and the other 3 are a total sweep and unfair to the survivors (they were solo or just 2 of them were playing together), I think this last thing shows how easy is to cross the line of "fair games"

    Love you all.

It would be good if swf was limited to " invite 1 friend' so at least its not the whole team . At worst you would then get 2 teams of 2. I dont mind playing swfs, most i come across are just friends havin a good time, rarely sweaty or nasty

be the most healthy for the game?

    Killer ideas:

BBQ - incentives killer to leave the hook

Corrupt Intervention - Provides a very temporary advantage in the early game which set-up killers like trapper and hag desperately need anyway

Dying Light - Incentives killers to get hooks, could be changed so that instead of being based around the obsession this perk is instead de-activated when first survivor is killed.

Fire-Up - Gives killer a slight edge as the game progresses

Grim Embrace - Gives killers an incentive to hook 4 survivors at least once (may discourage tunneling)

NOED - Survivors would hate this one but may encourage them to cleanse dull totems

Insidious - would certainly add a new dynamic to every game

No Way Out - This one is frequently suggested as being part of the base kit. Would make many end games a lot more interesting than they already are now.

Shattered Hope - Another one frequently suggested as being part of the base kit. That Circle of Healing totem is pretty strong though.

Spies from the Shadows - Would force survivors to be much more stealthier every game

Survivor ideas: (i think the main difficulty with giving survivors a basekit perk is that you're not giving 1 perk, you're giving 4 perks//or 1 to each survivor)

Decisive Strike - Anti tunnel perk. (main problem with this one is that it would encourage survivors to basically want to get downed. instead of using it defensively they'd use it offensively which is why i think this will never be basekit.)

Diversion - I mean it would be pretty funny

    Kinship - Underutilized anti-camp perk

As killer, death grip or bitter murmur.... or discordance

Killer main to killer main, be careful of relying too heavily on this eruption & CoB combo. It’s bound to be nerfed. Especially if you are a less experienced killer, don’t get too comfortable. Remember the last meta shakeup? Many survivors were runnin around clueless without Dead hard and it was a slaughter for a couple weeks.

The same thing is bound to happen if y’all get too complacent with this current meta. When I’m playing survivor (incentive isn’t on killer) I see a lot of killers running full regression builds that are slowing us down just enough to maybe get a 2k, but they are absolutely lacking in chase. Once this change happens, those 2k’s will turn into GGEZ’s for the survivors.

I’m not saying don’t run it.. run whatever you want (I hate kicking gens so I don’t run any gen kicking perks). Just don’t get crutched on it and sabotage yourself for when it gets taken out from under you.

Never used them. Info perks are best

😄😆 yeah. Mostly new players. They look so confused, especially as pig when i crouch and try to help with gens. Xp players get it. Whats life without chaos?

I meet so many wonderful and interesting people playing this game. My steam friends list is now filled with some of the coolest and most awesome people in the gaming world. I think interesting, eccentric and wonderful people must gravitate towards this game. Thank you DBD.

Sure, when I first started playing I encountered more toxic people. But I can forgive this because they were probably new and didn't understand the basic etiquette of the game. I have had only one game that I can think of in the past few months where I even encountered a legitimate troll. I have built up a reputation for playing fair and people reciprocate. If you work hard in the games you play people recognize that and usually send kudos. Even when I play survivor I get killers who say, "Kudos, well done."

I wonder if some of this is due to the hard work of the behavior moderators removing hackers and people who are just looking to cause trouble. I am grateful that when I play, I am usually showered with kindness by the other survivors. Does anyone else have a similarly positive experience?

Yep. Im a killer only and playing chill or in character ive met so many fun people. Its a fun game if you dont take it too seriously. I got hit hard by a survivor friend cos they didnt know it was me, torched and sabo etc. It was cute watching them push to survive. Afterwards they felt so bad when they saw it was me in scoreboard. Its just a game people! Have fun

No, this isn't a 'if you don't like it git out' thread (although, yeah, the Eruption threads are getting up my snout right now).

I'm curious why you - be it a new or a veteran player, are still playing this game?

    For me:

    • It's incredibly effective at waking me up in the morning. This game makes me feel...a lot of things, but 'sleepy' isn't one of them. Mrs. Lost refers to my early morning DbD as my 'daily rage coffee'. Which is apt.
    • A good match of DbD is exhilarating, win or lose.
    • The hope that one day they'll give me my giant spoopy spider killer and I can be happy forever.
    • Right now, I'm trying to really get better at survivor, and while some of the killers have been grating my damn cheese as of late, I am enjoying the feeling of improvement.
    • Sometimes, this game has wonderful, memorable little narratives that emerge in games.
    • For example, my last match of the night had a Clown (on Haddonfield) who'd evidently just discovered that...thing that Clown can do that might be an exploit, but it allows them to completely negate Endurance. He tunneled out the Sheva immediately, and with us trying to save her had literally all of us on the ground, no gens done when he did his final hook. David was doing an adept, and so picked himself up - then I picked up the Lisa, who blinded him with a cracker and we all got away. Somehow - we all looped like machines, used every pallet and every vault we had, and we were at 0 gens with 2 of us still alive. I ended up sacrificing myself to let David get his Adept, and postgame was actually really wholesome. A bit of a pisser that Sheva had brought streamers, but eh. Still a game that I'll always remember when I think of DbD.

Im a killer only. For me its scaring the crap out of horror fans. I know what they want and i do my best to give it. Jump scares! Tension! Chaos!

Might as well rename the map to ‘Pallet break simulator’

Seriously there’s way too many safe/ god pallets. There’s no skill needed from either side to play on that map, no mind game potential, no faking vaults, no hiding red stain, no double back ect

It’s literally get 1 or 2 loops in, drop pallet, killer is forced to break, move on to next loop, repeat.

It just needs to have the lights turned down. Like most maps its too bright. Horror is meant to be dark.

  • Myers is a classic. He has a presence. As a killer main, michael is the essence of horror. Used right he is deadly. Survivors i come across respect his unpredictability. Is he tombstone? Why is he just watching me? The most under rated killer because most players dont know how to use him, or most who do are just horror fans who play in character and dont care bout the 4k. Hes a legend.

I really don’t understand how this game can go from memeing in snowmen and having fun with the killer, to getting beaten to death on the hook, slugged as last person alive until bleeding out on the ground, instantly removed from the match because of ultra-rare addons like tombstone or offerings like mori. It seems like camping and tunneling that one survivor for a mori is more important than actually playing the game and letting everyone enjoy it. Why is Behavior allowing this type of toxic behavior? Instead of preventing it, they are making it easier for people. A killer that can send «guards» to camp the hooks for them, seriously? These changes are ruining the whole community and experience. The more toxic players there are, the less wholesome and nice players. Is that really what we want?

Let it go. As killer ive had nasty teams try to ruin my fun. I used to let it get to me, but playing chill ive had so many friendly survivors reach out. Its just a game. If you get jerks just go looking for the 5th survivor, play hide and seek. The game has a timer. In the end it doesnt matter.

Play how you want. Me personally, I have a “DC means the rest escape”. That’s me though and when I’m playing survivor and a killer doesn’t play this way it’s fine by me.

I agree. If players dc then farm the rest nicely but let them go. A few hits then back off. Its just a game. Respect the gamers who dont quit

  • Just play and have fun. I take the same perks every game . Distortion, bitter murmur, death grip and fear monger. Sure i get a kill maybe every second game,( outside events =party time) but who cares. Just have fun win or lose. Survivors can be pretty cute if you just play for fun

  • Because the bone chill event was fun. Something the game needed. As a killer main jumping into a snowman has been so much fun. Goofing off has been a nice change. Ive seen hardcore swf teams melt when i play killer snowman. Party time dudes. Cheer up
