Yeah I concur with all the points made here about solo q being pretty much worse than ever. Only worse time for solo q I can think of was maybe eruption + overcharge gen kick meta a few years ago.
I understand why 6.1 happened, but god has it been more or less horrible for solo survivors since that update.
Nothing's worse than feeling like your actions have no consequences regarding the outcome of a match and this feeling is pretty much at its peak atm.

Why not just remove it? Capping bp makes no sense to me.
They want you to keep playing. For example, if you hoarded millions of bloodpoints, you could instantly prestige every new character to whatever prestige you aimed for, and then there would be less motivation to keep playing because the gameplay loop keeping you hooked would be gone.
TLDR: don't ask questions, consume product

Unknown, especially regarding lore. The teasers before the chapter were freaky as hell.
Dredge nightfall still freaks me out, mainly because of the sounds.
Sometimes Myers can be really scary, especially when you see him stalking in the beginning of the trial.

1v4 solo q is unplayable, doubt most survivors are happy to go back.
This. Jesus christ the base game mode feels HORRIBLE as a solo player after 2v8. Most killers just resort to camping, tunneling and/or slugging when there is a slightest hint that the game isn't going their way.
Of course the players who want to win will use tactics that give them wins, no matter how unfun they are/feel. The devs have had 8 years to fix this crap and they haven't.
So, when's 2v8 coming back?

i did it just fine solo. try adjusting your approach.
I actually had a lot of success today with Moment of Glory, For the People, Empathy, Plunderer's. It requires some stars to align of course but it's doable. So guess I'll eat my words lol
-
Yeah this achievement is hell for solo que players. No mither, resilience, deja vu etc is the only reliable way to get it and it's hard enough in solo que when you're not broken the whole match.. it's up there with the 100 huntress axe hits from a distance one

Can a dev or community manager comment on this topic? This has been one of the biggest problems in the game for the longest time and a serious problem for player retention. It honestly feels like a huge elephant in the room the way this topic is being ignored. Are there going to be any base game changes to disincentivize tunneling? ARE THERE ANY PLANS TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM?!

yeah I’m dreading regular again too. I’ve done a few 1v4 matches and I just wasn’t enjoying it as much. Didn’t even want to but I had a challenger I couldn’t do in 2v8. It was miserable. Like this is the casual mode I need to escape the “otz says tunneling and camping is the best strategy, so I live by that code and if you disagree you’re an entitled survivor.” Crowd
If anything, this mode casts light on all the flaws of the base game, where the most efficient strategies are often the most unfun and aggravating experiences for the other side.
Can't help but wonder if this mode is also kind of a sneaky testing ground for changes that are being considered for the base 1v4 mode.

Honestly, if anyone somehow found a way to see this as a bad change, they're just doing it to stir up some reactions.
A welcome change!
Found one… he basically argues that removing depipping removes a sense of accomplishment & caters to the emotions of " emotionally immature" gamers or something like that.
It's a strange take imo considering all the ways you have no control over a depip, especially as survivor.

yes, perfect, lets keep nerfing tunneling because doing the opposite (playing nice and going for mixed hooks) is TOTALLY a reliable way to win against teams who are even remotely efficient on generators. I dont know when people will understand, you cant play "nice" against a good team unless you're playing nurse,by the time you get your 4 separate hooks 3 gens are done .
Yes, exactly, let's nerf tunneling to the ground and then balance the game from there. Gen speeds and all.
Tunneling a player to death at 5 gens FEELS like breaking the intended gameplay loop. The main reason survivors hate it so much is because it feels like cheating to get a cheap win. It is frustrating, boring and often feels uncounterable. Many killers here have also commented that they themselves feel like it is boring to do, but they "must" do it to secure a win. Here lies the main problem.
When killers spread hooks and focus on chases, the matches feel more balanced i.e. "playing the game as intended". That's why it puzzles me sometimes that tunneling is considered a valid strategy by the devs. Kill rates aside, the quality of matches overall would be so much better if this was addressed.

I can't wait to see them gut another killer tool, because survivors just don't have it easy enough. I'm sure all those killers on that list will come out just fine too. Remember that time the devs said that billy was fine and that they liked his current state, and then they added the overheat mechanic just because? I remember that. I expect a long list of nerfs to everyone on that list.
What are you on about? Lately killer has never been easier and solo que has never been more brain meltingly abysmal. If you struggle with killer right now, I have bad news for you.
-
I'd really like to know if there are any more plans to improve solo que in the pipeline, because at the moment, with all the uncounterable tunneling and crappy matchmaking, it seems like solo que players are just cannon fodder and there's no light at the end of the tunnel (pun intended).

Similar problem with "By hook or crook (Remix)" on the killer side. Platform: PS5
-
Can confirm, tried to complete this challenge on PS5 today, with the killer hitting me under hook, and I still managed to complete the hook sabotage. The challenge didn't register this as a success. Completely bugged challenge.

As solo player, who bought the game to have fun, and chill infew moments in the day i can spare on video games, i feel cheated by the devs who dont want to remove those tactics from the game. Maybe efficient teams in high mmr, sweaty teams in turnaments etc. can deal with it. But if im solo player, having 20min to play a game, ends up on a hook, and then once again untill i die, and my gameplay is basically just looking how hook progress rise, with killer wandering near the hook (yes anti face-camping mechanics do not help with that even tho killer does not allow for unhook) i just feels bad, cheated, robbed with my time and money. this is only my feedback. Maybe there ae people who enjoy doing nothing. Im just not one of them.
I feel you. Getting tunneled out of the game in 2 mins is one of the most frustrating things you can experience in this game, especially as a newer player. Killers who do this are usually desperate to get a 4k for some reason (often archive challenges that require 4 sacrifices) and probably think that you're the weak link, easy to get rid of quickly, and then gens don't fly as fast anymore.
The good news is, that with more experience/better teams, you can become better at looping so there's more of a chance that the killer goes to find someone else instead, or you get a team that either cracks gens at lightning speed when you are being chased/tunneled/camped or come to protect you to the best of their abilities when this happens.
-
Both numbered ideas are great IMO. The alternate idea (shutting mics) is never going to happen, I don't think there's a way to prevent people from using some external communication device. People will always find a way to communicate.
Ping system like "killer coming this way" is standard in other similar multiplayer games. It feels strange that this game is ~6 years old and there has never been a system like this during its lifetime.

Oof.
It was a painful experience and the only good thing is I got tunneled out of the game quickly so I didn't have to continue on against this killer.
I have the utmost respect for the person playing the artist in that match, they were clearly very skilled at playing her and it takes time to get that good. My bother comes from feeling like I had little to no options against her, but I think a large part of that is because I rarely ever face off against an artist player, let alone a VERY good one.
Anybody have any tips on how to counter her properly??

I come back from a few weeks of break from the game to have some fun and participate in the new tome but guess what? It's not possible to complete them without being allowed to play the game.
1st game: Tunneling wesker
2nd game: Facecamping bubba
3rd game: Starstruck nurse
4th game: Facecamping bubba hitting and nodding at hook
5th game: Camping and tunneling wesker
6th game: Tunneling huntress
Tries to go killer: 1st game T bagging 4 man swf sabo squad
disclaimer: by tunneling and camping I mean the "at 5 gen left type"
Players are just allowed to straight up ruin your game and will not hesitate to abuse of it by making everyone's games miserable rather than actually play it since none of this is bannable because they are VaLiD StArTeGiEs.
The game has the most obvious issues of rampant and abusive toxicity , but the devs rather work on "tHe fInIsHiNg mOrI SyStEm".
Devs keep saying that they can't really make changes because of "really limited resources" those same resources that they rather use all of the most stupid stuff that no one cares about rather than actually come up with changes to fix their game.
Am I the only one thinking that the devs would rather work on their own thing instead of doing their jobs properly is absolute BS? Because idk about you but I love this game and recently I'm actually starting to get sick of playing it because the community.
I absolutely feel you and know where you are coming from. I play both sides and have pretty much given up on solo que survivor (I don't have friends who actively play this game so it is my only option to play survivor). Killer on the other hand feels almost too easy and boring now, apart from facing the most coordinated swf teams.
I do miss the survivor matches from like half a year ago when the matches felt more fair and enjoyable. Of course solo que had its problems at that point too but the recent changes have made the problems really stick out and solo survivor has become almost unbearably frustrating to play. At the past it didn't even really matter if I survived or not if the match was fun and felt fair. This is becoming increasingly rare and every other match feels like a ridiculous dumpster fire.
I really hope Behaviour reconsiders some of the changes they have made to this game recently, but considering their history, I have my doubts.

Camping and tunneling. If a killer wants to "win" regardless of bloodpoints or fun (for both sides), they should always camp and tunnel.

If you are getting killed consistently in 2 minutes every game, that's a skill issue.
So this part is all you chose to take away from my comment? But who am I to say, go and defend tunneling and what a great mechanic it is for this game. Such an effective way to win for the killer!
-
@Crowman said:
There's nothing unfair about tunneling. The only goal the killer has is to kill survivors and focusing out a survivor early is just the best path to victory.
You have teammates who can take hits and try to get pressure off of you, you have perks like BT, OTR, and DS to aid against tunneling, and you can always waste a killer's time in chase.
These kind of cancerous attitudes towards the most unfun mechanics in this game are the number one reason this game is losing players. No one wants to play matches where you just get outed in 2 mins with no say in the matter.
-
Agreed, killers' ability to humiliate you and waste your time is obnoxious in some cases, and it often happens without any kind of provocation from the survivor side (looping well and trying your best to survive is not a provocation). Slugging and following you with their red stain is probably one of the worst offenders. Some killers have fragile egos and love to go on a crazy power trip with this game, showing no empathy for the other side.
There should be a chance to opt out from these kinds of situations without a penalty.

@Regulus47 said:
The thing is, being 110% doesn't really affect mobility. Look at Scott Junds video about it. All it really does is affect chase ability. Killers are 110% usually because they have a crazy ranged or movement ability that dominates in chase, such as huntress, spirit, hag and hopefully in the future blight. Making a killer 110% has one purpose, and that's to make it harder for them to get hits without using their power, usually to curb their chase oppressiveness a little to make it fair.
In terms of deathslinger, he has a crazy ranged ability that dominates in chase. Yes, you can argue it's weaker than other 110% killers, but it still makes him an absolute chasing powerhouse and easily one of the stronger killers in the game if you can remotely aim. Making him 115% not only wouldn't make sense cause of his leg brace, but it would make this chase power (and his zoning power) even stronger.
Some killers like artist, pyramid head and nemesis can get away with being 115% because their powers, although being extremely strong in chase, aren't really something you ONLY use in a chase. Pyramid head for example doesn't use his laser every single time, and it's got a very limited range, similar to nemesis who requires three hits for his first down. Artist is a little more contentious but I don't mind her being 115%. Deathslinger though would be torture at 115% because he does use his power all the time, and increased movement speed would just make this power even stronger due to how quickly he can aim and shoot. He would be a nightmare to fight.
I'm actually really interested, why did they decide to make Blight 115%? Did the devs ever justify this? Even Spirit is 110%.
IMO if devs followed their own logic Blight would have been a 110% movement speed killer YESTERDAY.

I do not have the same experience, but that's maybe because the survivors I'm facing are not that good yet. Similarly, when I play as survivor we scarcely ever get to 5 gens done, so it might be a phenomenon more specific to your mmr bracket / hours of the day you play / region.
Yeah there is a lot of variation of course, sometimes I stomp as well. It very often feels like the first chase and its length determines the course of the whole match. I have no idea about my MMR but on many killers I play the survivors seem very objective-focused and many are good loopers.
-
@Deadeye said:
In what way would it be exploitable? Cant think of any scenes where Artist got exploited for that. I mean, you can use M1 near hooks, so what's the problem? You can charge the chainsaw after the unhook too
Kind of my thoughts as well. M1 and hook grabs are still a thing.
What I'm really interested in is if the forum contrarians think that a facecamping Bubba is a healthier scenario than whatever "exploits" survivor could do in a situation where he cannot M2.
-
@SuzuKR said:
This would be insanely exploitable, which is literally why devs haven’t done it.
Great. Do you have a better suggestion? Or is facecamping Bubba always going to be a thing that is a part of this game?
-
If you solo que, team oriented perks help the most, perks like bond, kindred, prove thyself, circle of healing etc. Basically you can try to be the team player amongst survivors that play their own game.
If you play in a swf, any perks that extend chases (windows, dh, off the record, etc) usually work really well, because the coordination is already there and if you get chased, your teammates can just bang out gens asap.
-
This company is a joke
-
With the gameplay being like it is with the latest patch, not really. Just camping and tunneling Weskers every game.

He is still weaker than blight and nurse so he is fine. Nurse need to be nerfed first then maybe they should look at oni.
"Nurse needs to be nerfed first"
Why can't we have both?
-
IMO he should get the clown treatment, because from what I've seen, it's getting pretty close to broken levels of overpowered. And of course people abuse it if they happen to know about it.
-
Because the game (and the pip system) is an unbalanced, ridiculous mess that doesn't take campers and tunnelers into account. It's beyond laughable how unfun this game has become for survivors. And no, I didn't rely on DH pre-patch. It's just awful all around.
-
Well that explains the ridicilous Oni games I've been having as a survivor.
As if solo que vs Oni wasn't bad enough already.
-
1. Nurse
2. Nurse
3. Nurse
-
Every nurse uses the same, broken range addons that make her impossible to react to. I'm on the verge of quitting dbd until they are changed in some way. I suspect I'm not the only one thinking this and if I worked in Behaviour I would try to fix this ASAP before players start to quit in droves. Pretty much daily threads about nurse tell their own tale as well.
