I'm so tired of those alternate game modes, all they do is increase the bloody queue times
-
Sure, then let's start the endgame collapse as soon as the last gen is done
-
Idk, I find a lot of success running Coup or PWYF+Nemesis, and Oppression lately
-
I think tunneling is mostly a side effect of swfs, believe it or not.
Cause you're having a few nice games as a killer, then u meet some annoying swfs that troll the heck out of you, and then u tunnel the f out of whoever you find next game in hopes that you don't experienced again what you did against the swfs.
Tunneling is basically the killer's SWF
-
Have you played killers without anti-loop lately? It pretty much feels like torture, especially with everyone running WoO, the gameplay loop for you will be, run to a loop, survivor circles around it for 2-3 times, drops the pallet, you break it, he goes somewhere else. And don't give me the same talk about playing around the pallet instead of breaking it cause you can only do that for like 20% of the pallets on a map.
It's miserable playing anything without anti-loop, even playing Doctor, that has a minor anti-loop option, sitll sucks.
I'd be fine with the anti-loopers being nerfed if WoO gets dismantled
-
Idk why they struggle so much with Nurse, if they really wanted to fix her, they would just give her a longer cd on missed attack after a blink, and leave the cd the same as it is now if she hits something
-
His addons regarding scamper need to be changed, they are borderline useless now.
I mean scamper overall is so useless that it doesn't even deserve a name, it's basically just a minor tech at this point
-
As I've said before, this requires courage, the devs are playing it extremely safe with the new additions to the game, which in turn makes everything way less exciting
-
Hard No, thx

thanks for the heads up - I haven’t had any issues but I’ll bear this in mind if I ever do. Are there any drawbacks to this? (Is there a graphical or aesthetic drop/downgrade?)
Other than the menu lagging for a second whenever a player joins, or when you switch killers, no.
But i prefer the menu to be lagging for 1-2 seconds before every game than the actual game to be stuttering when i'm about to get a hit or when I break a pallet

why not you know the devs are gonna run out of ideas eventually so she’ll have to join haha
There's a lot of unexplored ideas with licensed killers still, we don't have:
Slenderman,
Any SCP would work,
Anything from Killing Floor could work, especially the arachnids,
The Witch from Left 4 Dead could be cool, i imagine her crying around the map just to end up throwing a tantrum,
IT,
The Creeper from Jeepers Creepers,
Predator,
Hannibal Lecter
And if we're talking non-horror, but that can still work, we have Voldemort from Harry Potter, Azog from LOTR, Scarecrow from Batman,
There's almost an infinite amount of killers to pick from, they don't need to redo the same thing

I was with you until you claimed to enjoy hugging a survivors ass for a minute on the off chance they were about to push E. That was the most tedious thing in the world.
The way DH was back then, was making a lot of survivors overconfident, prone to mistakes, like "oh i'll just risk doing this cause I have DH"
The way WoO is, it basically prevents mistakes, it allows some of the more experienced survivors to loop near perfection

I'm going to respectfully disagree. I think the pace of change in this game is quite acceptable and reasonable. We get new killers and survivors quarterly. Updates at the same time plus at least one update mid chapter. Events are even more frequent with most major holidays celebrated. Plus we get alternate game modes sprinkled in there periodically. Battle passes and new skins regularly added. If you compare the game today to when it was released then you will see just how much the game has massively changed. I don't know what more a reasonable person could possibly expect.
"We get new killers and survivors quarterly"
Bruh, you are living the illusion that you get new killers and survivors. Survivors are basically just a skin first of all, second of all, like 80% of all the "new" perks, are just some things we already have, but twisted around.
We're not getting anything new really. We haven't got anything fancy in a while now
-
You either play killer once in a while, or you never encounter decent survivors. You'd be lucky if you could use Dissolution 1 time per game against decent survivors, but most of the time you won't even get that
"WoO is quite literally useless if you use braincells as a killer"
Yeah, so most survivors are so silly that they use a useless perk, even the ones with 5k hours game time, they must be ohhhhhh so silly, using this useless perk that lets you use your exhaust perks optimally, and not waste them running into a deadzone.
Oh so useless making the killer break pallets to no avail
It's so so useless, "OMG RUN TO YELLO HEHE".

I don't want the Devs to get so out of hand they ruin the game I already love.
The Devs also only have so much time. This is a big game. It's been alive for 8 Foggin' years now. It's got tons of characters, it's got hundreds of perks and many many maps. The Devs need to consider ALL of this. Changes take time and little changes more often are better than big sweeping changes less often. It makes players feel heard, and gives the Devs a smaller workload.
Do you really want the Devs to crunch so hard they end up burnt out and ruin the game or don't change anything anymore? Or do you want the game to be its best?
I want different changes from the usual "this perk got 1 more second of blindness on it", "we've increased the movement speed from 5% to 6% on this perk", "we've added a bit of this addon as base kit to this killer, and changed the addon accordingly". I also don't understand how those kind of changes take months, those types of changes would be literal hotfixes in other games, but somehow for the DBD Devs, it takes 3 months to adjust some silly numbers

You clearly never played when old dead hard was a thing if you think windows is close to that level.
I did, but the DH meta also had it's ups, a lot of survivors would get very cheeky knowing they have DH, and put themselves in bad situations when you would bait it, it was a fun little mindgame to have.
It wasn't fun when it basically gave them a free pallet or window, but the rest of the time, I enjoyed the baiting aspect of it, there was a lil bit of counterplay, there's no lil bit of counterplay for WoO

They do run into deadzones. They just don't do it accidentally.
Consider this scenario: A survivor is being chased, and they can run either left or right. To the left, a deadzone. To the right, a loop with a pallet still up or a decent window. The survivor cannot see these resources (or lack thereof) but must make a choice.
WoO just stops them from running left. Next time you're in that area, and there's a deadzone on BOTH sides, WoO won't help them at all and they will run into a deadzone.
For the record, I don't run Windows, because I'm okay risking an accidental deadzone so I can run perks that'll actually do something for me. This isn't hypocrisy, my position is completely consistent. To speak to everyone else running it, though, Windows is a perfect example of why you shouldn't conflate pickrate with strength. Windows barely does anything… but it's nice. You can get 90% of Windows' value by just keeping an eye out between chases, but it's nice and it's convenient to not have to do that. Nothing changes for your efficiency or effectiveness, you just get a little bit of mental stack eased. It's a nice, convenient, middle-of-the-pack perk that people enjoy running even though it doesn't do much.
The boring gameplay you're describing is just… looping. What else are you expecting survivors to do? They're not going to not do that if they're running different perks or if Windows gets nerfed. They're still going to be running to the resources on the map, they're still going to be running around those resources, and they're still going to be dropping the pallet and moving on at the end of it. That's how survivor gameplay works.
If there's some alternative I'm missing that you're suggesting here, by all means let me know, I like to try and understand people's positions as best I can.
"Next time you're in that area, and there's a deadzone on BOTH sides, WoO won't help them at all and they
willrun into a deadzone."No they won't, cause they'll just activate their exhaust perk or take a hit and jet off into a different area that has pallets, survivors aren't that dumb as you wanna make them seem to be
"The boring gameplay you're describing is just… looping. What else are you expecting survivors to do?"
I'm expected to be rewarded for the time spent breaking pallets, and that reward usually comes in survivors going to the areas not knowing that the pallets are gone, that happens a lot with survivors that are not running WoO, even the good ones. WoO just promotes mindless gameplay, such mindless and annoying gameplay with the only counter being to play anti-loop killers which are arguably the strongest.
The blindness perks all mostly suck, the xeno perk got nerfed into oblivion, and 30 seconds of blindness isn't enough, as you need to find that survivor first, even when you find him, he already has an idea about where the pallet is, cause he had the WoO before you blinded him and untill you break that first pallet, the 30 seconds of blindness are gone
Third seal is a hex that can get easily cleansed, Septic Touch is laughable, and Mindbreaker has the same problem, the survivor alredy has an idea about what to do next if you come, cause he had WoO before the blindness effect, and it will expire until you break that first pallet
There's basically no good counter to it, except for some killer addons

I just want totem placements to be in sensible spots.
Not in the middle of high traffic hallways, not hidden behind thick foliage, not RIGHT NEXT TO A GENERATOR, just in places that make sense to hide them.
I mean that will help a little, but still, it's the randomness that pisses me off, even if they would be put in places that makes sense to hide them, it could be closer to where a survivor spawns.
I'd say remove the randomness, let killers light them up, cause after all, we can't see where they are, so we're gonna waste time looking for dull totems anyways
-
Okay, let' s just say Killers without anti-loop then. Which are basically the worst atm.
It baffles me how people don't notice that WoO does basically nothing against the stronger killers, yet can completely dismember weaker killers that don't have solutions against loops
How is this a healthy perk? A perk that is incredibly powerful against weak killers yet does nothing against strong ones?

@jesterkind said:
I promise you, almost anything a survivor can do with Windows, they can do without it. The only thing it'll do is safeguard them from running blindly into a deadzone because their teammates used the resources nearby.
Take note of the phrasing, by the way. It doesn't prevent them from running into deadzones, it just makes sure they know it's happening when they're forced into one. They won't run into one accidentally with Windows.
Nerfing Windows really, truly, honestly won't do much. That's not to say it won't necessarily warrant a change on the grounds of perk variety, but in terms of strength, it barely does anything. It's just nice to have, and helps a lot in solo queue. From the killer perspective, I'd rather everyone be running Windows instead of a perk that'll actually harm me.
Also, "M1 Killers" is not a group of killers that are all suffering in a unified and shared way. That is a group that contains both Trapper and Freddy, some of the weakest killers, and Pinhead and (arguably) Plague, two of the strongest, with other M1 killers being anywhere in between. It's a pet peeve of mine when people act like "M1 Killers" is synonymous with "Weak Killers" and that they're all also supposedly weak for the same reasons, that's not true.
The fact that they won't run into a deadzone is a massive thing by itself. Even with comms, it's pretty hard to pinpoint the exact location where you broke a pallet, and when there's even more pallets wasted, it's harder to keep track. WoO simplifies that 100 times
I've seen people shitting on this perk every single time i complain about it yet almost everyone is using it, why are you trying to water it down so much? It definitely makes a big difference, otherwise it wont be this popular
Every killer without any anti-loop has to play pallet break simulator half the game, because survivors with WoO will go to a loop, run around it a couple times, and end up dropping the pallet, wait for you to break it, then run to the next one and repeat, it promotes such boring gameplay.
I'd rather get hit 100 times by Head on, or be blinded by Flashbangs, or be bamboozled by Lucky Star, at least there i'm getting outplayed with things I don't expect. But whenever I see a survivor doing the typical WoO movement, I just sigh, then I try to switch targets and see the same pattern, knowing this other survivor also has WoO
It's just an entirely pathetic perk

But they are still working on it, they're just making it a smaller and smaller concept.
More broadly speaking, the game is popular, people like it, it has a good size playerbase. You don't come in and make massive changes to something that is working, you make incremental adjustments.
But I didn't suggest making massive changes to the live game, just making massive changes to the PTB and then adding what feels good and polished enough
Yeah the game is popular, yeah people play it, but it gets pretty boring pretty quick, as there's barely anything new being added to the game.
Adjusting a few seconds or a few % on some perks, or adding niche perks that nobody will ever use, and even if they use, they will only get value once every couple of games doesn't do anything to the game.
You can basically take a 3-5 month pause from the game, come back, and everything will be mostly the same

The last time they tried a major change it was the basekit unbreakable/mori. It didn't go well.
So what? That doesn't mean they should stop trying, that was a pretty nice idea on paper, if it didn't work it didn't work, on to the next one

I mean, my PC can definitely handle more demanding stuff, and i have literally 0 problems with other killers, IDK

You may want to add what platform you're playing on, so those with more specific knowledge can offer tips.
PC > STEAM
I've heard that the game runs better on Epic games store though
-
No one gets hatch priority. EVERYONE DIES
-
Or just make survivors have to get closer to reaveal him, simple as
-
I rage quit a lot if I'm playing a weaker killer and meet SWFS that sprint the hell out before i even get to the gen, knowing they're on comms and call out everything.
It's simply just not fun at all, you start chasing someone, instantly the other 3 survivors are hugging gens. I swear SWFS on comms are like borderline cheating
-
I don't think this game can handle 2 sepparate queues, when I saw that they're gonna extend 2v8 i got so pissed. Killer queue times are horrendous
