why cant they at least keep a server somewhere in turkey or somewhere remotely close to the middle east? 50 ping would be just fine it doesnt have to be in the middle east

Small player-base region = no servers for this region
This is real world. BHVR is a company. It is how it is!
ever thought about the fact that the small player base region is literally due to the fact that there is no good servers anywhere near us players in the middle east so the game isnt enjoyable on high ping which leads to people in the middle east not wanting to go anywhere near the game. If they had the servers and people had good ping im sure the player base would increase. Middle east is not small at all, it is huge and would have so many more players wanting to play this game if they had servers closer to us like they did when they had mumbai servers, but they took that out too and now indian players get over 100 ping and they quit this game too so its not only effecting middle east. Not only that, russian players get bad ping so that playerbase is also gonna go down. If there were more servers available to play on the game would be enjoyable enough to the point where it would attract new players from each of these regions. Most video games these days have servers for most of the countries i mentioned and dbd just doesnt want to add them to the game.

Not too long ago Peanits said sth about regions in a different thread also related to hit validation and ping. There are some more replies in that thread for anyone who's interested.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3365283#Comment_3365283
But even with all what Peanits said I'm not particularly convinced it's alright that all of Africa and the Middle East has only two servers to ping; Frankfurt, EU - or Singapore, Asia. Like. Both servers are several thousand kilometers away. There surely are enough players in those regions to warrant their having a server.
I am from the middle east and play this game with constant 100+ ping and it sucks so much as i have emailed them over the years about this several times but they just never do anything about it or care about players there. They used to have mumbai servers, that was good because it meant people in the middle east would be getting anywhere between 20-50 ping but they removed it without any proper reason. The developers suck when it comes to not listening to their player base and im sure they have enough money from the game to support opening a server there and keeping it but they just dont want to do that and it sucks playing on high ping because this game is so ping dependant.

That's just chance. The servers nearest you might be full, so they get the next nearest ones that aren't full. It'll depend on what time of day you're playing and who in your area is playing. That's not a glitch, it's the way the system is supposed to work. It means that either there aren't many servers in Frankfurt, or there are a lot of people playing in Frankfurt. Or possibly a combination of the two.
heres the thing, i just ran a bunch of tests over the past week because i was sick and tired of this ping crap. I found out that i was actually getting placed into frankfurt servers but my ping was 135 which doesnt make sense because it is the closest to me out of all the other servers they have. I also tried to go into the other EU server which was Ireland or UK i think and i had better ping, i was getting 105, and those places are 1,000 km further from me than frankfurt is so it would make more sense if i was getting 105 ping on frankfurt server and 135 in london or ireland. The closest server to me i have higher ping, a server further than me im getting lower ping. That must mean that some stupid **** is going on with their frankfurt servers and they need to fix them.

I’ve also been having similar connection issues. Sometimes I would lag a little bit but for the most part not too bad. Then out of the blue recently I got kick out of a killer match while trying to break all pallets for a rift challenge for no reason. I lost all my challenge progress and ended up getting a penalty from something that out of my control. It was very annoying for sure. They really need to fix and address this soon.
yes i agree, this ping needs to be fixed im sick of it. Also they need to implement some sort of reconnect option because the game sucks balls and kicks you out of the match even when your internet is perfectly fine. Most of the times im on discord with friends and when i get kicked out of match i can still hear them which means its the games problem and not my internet. Giving players a penalty over their problem is bullshit in my opinion and the ping just sucks so bad they need to fix whatever they messed up in the code. And i contacted them telling them this and 5 different times too in the past 3 days ive been replying to the emails they send me replying to my issue that im addressing and they keep telling me to check my internet and giving stupid troubleshooting procedures for my internet when my internet isnt the problem and i told them that. The reply i got to this was another email telling me to check my internet, after that i said the same thing. They changed the person that was replying to me and this other donkey on their team told me the same exact ######### as if that fixed my issue.

i have no idea man, recently they put out some useless update and it caused my ping to go from 95 to 150 and when i emailed them about this they did nothing useful for me or helped me in anyway good.

You're probably just connecting to more distant servers. Ping is the time it takes for info to travel from you to the server and back. It's likely unrelated to the update.
Thats what im saying, i used to be put in Frankfurt servers which was the closest to me but now they are forcing me into other servers that are further from me and why is that exactly i dont get it, they should just make a region picker where you get to choose to avoid this stupid problem
-
i have a different issue. I used to get 95 ping 2 weeks ago, they released some stupid 50 mb update and now ping is constantly on 135-150 and its not going back to what it used to be, anyone have any idea why its like this or how to fix it or when they will fix it? because its not a problem with my internet either because i had a friend join me and we queued and he also had around the same ping when he also used to get 95 ping too

NA-East region
Back when Blight came out that update caused all Xbox1x consoles to insta-overheat and shut down whenever DBD was started. A week later a patch fixed the issue, but my ping went from less than 40ms to 70-90 consistently. With no change in equipment or internet, and just for DBD.
It is entirely possible for an update to effect ping, especially on the consoles trying to digest their bottleneck-prone coding.
btw does this ping issue get fixed? and if it does how long do you think it would take them to fix it

I don't think it has anything to do with any EU servers. I'm also getting awful pings (200 plus) tonight.
then why would the ping randomly change for us and go 50 above what it usually is after they released that 50 MB update?
-
the best way to tunnel this is to make the hit you get right after getting hit on the hook is to make it work the same way as taking a hit while having metal of man up where it doesnt put you as wounded and with metal of man you can actually use deadhard after it too, they should really make this change soon because dead hard is literally almost useless now.

This is very possible to keep track of because of you look at the more popular games such as Overwatch for example, those voice chats that people use ingame are recorded and i know of several people that play the game and have received a voice chat ban due to toxicity and abusing the power given to them through voice chat. This is only possible creators of overwatch are actually taking the time to look into these recordings, the same can be done with DBD, the devs just have to care thats all.
-
Hello guys i see that the majority of people here do not like the idea of adding a voice chat in this game simply because most of this games player base is toxic and that is out of our control and i dont see why it has to be that way to be honest. Some people would just like to play this game for fun and meet nice people along the way and voice chat can possibly encourage that and encourage more teamwork instead of teammates being useless. The simple solution to someone being toxic when using the voice chat is to 1. mute them 2. report them 3. if DBD were to actually implement this into the game they would need to take people abusing the voice chat in negative ways such as cussing out each other seriously, maybe have recordings of each match's voice chat and enough people report a single player they can look into those recordings and ban them depending on if the reports are correct or not. 4. if not voice chat they add the same feature that DBD mobile has which is better than no comms at all, thanks you to the people who mentioned that idea in the comments and it is a great idea that would benefit so many solo queue players both sweaty players and people who are just trying to have fun. DBD should go back to being a game where people hop on to have fun and meet new friends to play with and the exact opposite of what it is right now which is toxic survivors and toxic killers cussing each other out over the fact that one is better than the other. It has gotten too competitive and it is sucking all the fun any person could have playing this game because it just becomes unenjoyable in the state that it is currently, thank you guys.

PLease god this.
what can you do man, thought more people would like this idea and support it since it has no downsides hahah

I agree that it was stupid of them to remove this feature, it was very conditional and it doesnt last for long because most of the time they could dodge being burned out of their powers, on top of this the flashlight isnt infinite, itll eventually run out and it already takes a good chunk of beem to even burn a wraith to begin with so it isnt that big of an issue if anything it was fun to be able to do that as survivor and wasnt a problem for me personally while playing those killers like wraith because it rarely used to happen and no one even asked for that mechanic to get removed.

It's the joy of their coding I think.
Truly epic name btw!!
Hahaha thank you, i appreciate it bro
-
you are absolutely right my friend, now that they have nerfed dead hard people became so used to being able to outplay the killers with precise timing and years of practice and now they dont have that option anymore, you just loop till your dead and since no one runs it anymore it gave the killers more of an easier way to tunnel people out the game.

yes you are probably correct, i have had multiple times through the years of me playing this game where after they put out an update my ping increases 30-70 ping higher than it should be, have no clue what the hell is going on with the devs and their updates. I am on Steam btw not console just to let you know.

The whole lobby will be 130-150, not just me.
yes you are correct i have also seen the entire lobby have over 100 ping in most of my games, something is off.
-
@bm33 This might not be a server issue it could just be your internet router having lag spikes, check if you or a family member is downloading something while you play
-
@Nirgendwohin that might be the same issue that im having, instead of placing us in the servers that we are supposed to play on they send us to other servers with higher ping because they are further away from where you live.
-
Hello guys, update on my comments. Yes, you all were mostly correct, the game made it so that too many people were depending on dead hard way too much and had to adapt to not having it as an option all the time to rely on which i have noticed recently after taking some of your guys's suggestions of running other exhaustion perks i have gotten better at looping and do not have to rely on DH anymore to survive longer in chases. But i do still believe that at the very least what should happen to deadhard is that they dont make it so that you have to get unhooked to use it, i believe they should remove that part of the nerf and keep it so that if you miss your dead hard you cant use it anymore till you get unhooked and the same thing once you get unhooked a second time. Thanks all for the suggestions, great work guys.
-
I think the reason you aren't seeing it much is because the playstyle of most killers currently is to tunnel or camp or maybe even both, which means once the survivor is saved and in 2nd stage of hook phase where they would usually be able to get healed or heal themselves in order to use the perk isn't possible. This is because once they get off that hook the killer is immediately back on them and doesnt give them a chance to heal and make any use of the perk. So thats most likely why you aren't seeing it happen as often.
-
the same is happening for me, i usually have 95 ping now after this small update i have 130+ ping constantly. My best guess on why this is happening for me is that I usually have to play on Frankfurt Germany servers to get the lowest ping and it must be down so they send me to lobbies in the UK so thats probably why im getting 130+ ping. This could be the same issue for you too but im honestly not sure.
-
the game needs to add dubai servers i feel for most of the people in the middle east that want to play the game but dont want to play on 100+ ping. I enjoy the game but I hate the fact the game gives the killers hits that they dont deserve because of the high ping i have, i see other streamers playing the game and compared to when they get hit, It basically feels like im getting hit from across the map and it sucks.
-
but i do understand what your saying and you are right, people should get better at looping. For me im very good at looping but the issue is that i have high ping in the game, almost 100 ping which most of of the time i make it to a pallet and drop it it wouldnt matter because the ping makes it so that I get hit anyways and the only way i can combat that is with deadhard which is why i used to run it so much. Now it just sucks to use.
-
@AverageAshEnjoyer I have tried that meta, I've tried sprint burst, lithe, balanced landing. Out of all of them the best is sprint burst but it hasnt done me much you know. It gets me to safety but it doesnt stop a killer from tunneling me. Dead hard used to be the only perk that I could run the killer effectively on and if i slipped up i would have to time my dead hard perfectly and they would have to swing for it to even do anything. It used to be very time reliant and you would have to juke it for it to even work beceause most klilers used to wait it out. Now, every killer just immediately swing knowing theres nothing the survivor can do and you have no other option but to die and then get tunneled out the game and this has been a HUGE chunk of the games i played since the update. Nerfing dead hard like this is just promoting the killers to tunnel more people out the game since they cant do anything to counter play anymore.

let me know your thoughts guys.
