They're never going to nerf her more than they already have because:
1) She's the hardest to learn and master in the game, requiring practice to development muscle memory to be effective with her.
2) She's the most delicate for them to balance due to #1.

Pretty much BHVR's motto. took them years just to add colour-blind mode for us with colour-blindness......
-
They can't. They'd have to replace EAC to do so since it's so outdated it can't read game records.
-
And that's part of the problem. Many enjoy how the game feels because they think they're good, when they're really not. It's huge reliance on perks that make the game easier for Survivors as a whole, and I find myself playing perkless during these few times I'm on the game just so I feel something out of it.

What are your thoughts on remodeling Hawkins National Laboratory into a recording studio for the Trickster? IMO it'd be easy to keep the flow of the map without changing it, and its a fun map on both sides. Though, final decisions yours, BHVR

Yea but queue times are still decent under 10 minutes which is the average, if there was a massive issue you would think people would have noticed it by now or the devs would have said something
You should see Killer queues. They're damn near instant right now. It's starting to become unbalanced again.
-
@bjorksnas said:
If they want to tell us if something is overperforming or underperforming they would the fact that its silent probably means there are no massive issues with the perk but based on their development cycle we have a little bit before its looked at since they usually give it a while to let the dust settle and the results become more consistent with the performance of the perk from people using it and using it better
Wasn't the same thing said about Mettle of Man for its first entire month+? Nothing was said by Devs until they started noticing that it would take Survivors 40+ minutes to find a match due to so few people playing Killer due to how broken using Mettle of Man with other perks was. I mean 5 effective hits before a down is just outright stupid to allow.
This game has become a joke for Survivors since Boons. I mean I've died maybe once every 3-5 matches thanks to using the Boon perks with Bite The Bullet and Dead Hard. Killers rarely down me with this stupidity.

I dont even understand how they think thats an option, it basically ruined league of legends. My guess: its just yet another money maker for them, I dont even know who asked for that feature. If they add auto bans that only rely on counts of ban reports alot of innocent people will get banned.
Exactly. Too many people just rant reports because they're salty. Hell, I'm guilty of it once in a blue moon when I'm having a generally bad day.
-
Too true. Really well said with the recent issues. Adding this will only make things worse.
There's few enough Killers playing the game as is now, we don't need to give the 4 other players more ammunition to shoot at the one player for simply playing the game as intended.

Anyone who is ok with the current gen speed, gen tapping, gen kicks are obviously not in the red rank on both survivor and killer.
If you play both at the red rank, you can tell it's so much easier and relaxed to play survivors than killers.
Pallets are everywhere, SWF with voice comms, hex totems get destroyed in a minute, large maps such as Ormond or Rotten Fields...
There is a reason why more and more killers do camping and tunneling nowadays, it's because the gen speed is freaking fast.
Maybe killers are more dominant at the purple or lower, but once both survivors and killers reach a certain point, survivors are way more dominant.
Agreed. I literally just had an anxiety attack for the first time since playing Killer. Like I didn't know ######### was happening until I realized the symptoms. Playing Killer is just FAR too stress-inducing. I play Survivor solo queue most of my games to relax or destress from playing Killer. It's beyond stupid what has happened to Killers since the Ruin rework.
Speaking of Ruin, it's rework has honestly lowered the quality of Survivors you see in Red Ranks because I find most aren't hitting Great Skillchecks now as there is now no longer ANY incentive to get good at hitting Great Skillchecks. I'm just thankful I played Survivor a lot during old Ruin because I'm able to fairly consistently hit Great Skillchecks.

Idk when im any killer with no speed ability on red forest and before i even cross the map 3 gens are almost done lol. In cases like that it really isnt my fault since i think tru3 counted and it takes 50 seconds to cross the whole map pressing w. Its pretty widly known maps are at fault for most speeds since not every killer can afford taking 30 seconds to cross a map. Then you have maps like haddonfield or the game which allow chases to go on far longer then usual.
Thus why maps are being reworked. Ignore the guy you quoted.

Play better is all I really have to say. As killer, it is your duty to apply pressure strategically and get downs quickly. Survivors who are on hooks and survivors who try to rescue said survivors are survivors who are not doing gens. Of course, I get the odd SWF every once in a while, and in that case, since I play pig and demo mostly, I can't compete with 100% survivor efficiency. But not every game is a completely coordinated SWF, and even those teams that sit on gens will get obliterated by responsible pressure management and ending chases very quickly.
Don't lie. You literally can NOT change Killers when in a lobby. Nice try.

Self-defeating mechanic.

Best advice I can give is run Windows of Opportunity so you can learn where loops are in maps as you get used to the game, and to also use Spine Chill so that you can get that headstart when you know the Killer is coming.
Hope this helps!

Oh I agree.
Maybe like a 2 party SWF cap.
no more 4 player SWF
As great as that would sound from a balance stand point, they can't restrict the amount of players who can play together. That's just not fair to the community.
Maybe instead restrict the number of active perks on a Survivor for each member in a SWF group to a minimal of 2 active in a full group.
-
A LOT needs to be balanced because of SWF groups. They straight up make the game miserable for Killers to the point we've reached where Killer queues are almost instant and Survivor queues take 10-12 minutes due to so few Killers still playing the game. The Devs need to figure SOMETHING out before it's too late.
-
I know this sounds really dumb of me to say but what is this hitbox talk I keep hearing about? I've had no weird hits done to me since they were fixed last time.
-
Considering there's SWF groups called "Bully Squads" which can counter camping Killers. I don't think you understand how little power Killers have over Survivors, OP.

I was working off of his example regarding deathgarden, how it failed given the distribution of objectives compared to power (and the stagnation optimal strategies seemingly would utilize as a result of the Hunters control over the match) coupled with his distaste for seemingly "Survivor sided" updates.
Imagine if the optimal strategy for Killer was to face-camp each Survivor (or Execute them outright as soon as they down them in Deathgarden's case). Or for Survivors to hide in a bush until the exit gate opens automatically after a set time.
They did not say that, no. But they're working against their own argument by bringing up a shuttered game where Hunter was so strong that the optimal game path was to literally try not to interact with them at all.
They're also ignoring DS getting tweaked, UI getting tweaked, Colorblind settings being announced (early), BHVR's announcement on the focus of Events being the Anniversary and Halloween, perk changes, Killer tweaks, map reworks, constant bug-fixes in the Patch notes, and quite honestly, a largely increased volume of social media communication, and slightly more transparency into their goings on.
This also fails to mention that his "constructive" feedback is mainly denigrating apart from portions of these sentences: "We don't even have real events anymore. The grind is extreme and the quality and performance continue to decline. Still, you have so much monitarization."
Are there things to improve? Always. Has BHVR been sitting on their laurels, doing nothing with their game? Hardly. IMO the majority of these bugs are a result of growing pains integrating a partially (if not fully) digital workforce into their workflow.
Ohhhhh ok, I gotcha now. Sorry about that.

I'm sorry you can't have have a Insta-Mori basekit like you want.
I'm not going to place much criticism at the moment given the sudden shift to a digital workplace, but do hope to see an improvement over time.
QA/DevOps does actually benefit from being within earshot of one another. Not that it can't work remotely though. People just need to adjust to it.
..... He never said anything about wanting an inta-mori basekit for Killers though. Please don't put words in people's mouths.
-
If there's a HUGE rise of failed ghost grabs at gens for Killers, that's a performance drop. It's just like the Legion patch all over again.
-
Had another night of hackers tonight. A Jake would continuously phase through hits and not let me touch him at all despite me getting the hit connecting animation stun. In the same match I had a Claudette who'd straight up teleport mid chase in an open area of the map so she didn't 360 or LoS me, just POOF gone.
THEN I had a console player unlock Hatch without a key in their hand, and then AFTER I close it after they escaped, the hatch opens again miraculously with no one having a key in hand?
This ######### has GOT to stop! It's really is like Destiny 2's hackers. I mean really? 3 cheaters in a single night? Something's gotta be done, BHVR or you're gonna lose your player base like Destiny 2 has.
-
If you think that map's bad, check out Pallet Town 2.0, The Game.
-
Honestly I find the Hook Count to be disheartening when playing Killer, especially with how much easier it is this year to be Gen Rushed. When you see 4 gens complete and not even half your Hook Counter filled really kills your mood to keep playing. It's such a downer part of the HUD.
-
It's like the Devs did a 180 on their philosophy of removing safe and god pallets when they first started doing map reworks and instead made The Game more pallet-safe map than ever before. Boggle my mind.
-
Not enough Killers playing. I had to retire from being a Killer main myself because my heart pressure would rise too much when playing Killer. It's just not fun and I'd rather not suffer a heart attack please and thank you.
-
You say this OP, yet Huntress can down Survivors much faster than Deathslinger. Part of the reason why he's not in the top 5 Killers and Huntress is.
-
Edit: Hey folks, how about shooting some feedback here as well commenting on either my own suggestions or dropping off your own ideas.
Let's try to get the devs attention for a more positive change for Legion rather than just these reworks that seem to either be just nerfs or added restrictions.

You misunderstood my reply. I was bringing those up sarcastically as examples as why being a killer takes skill too, as opposed to the argument that being a killer doesn't take skill. It's not just about hitting m1. Mind games, predicting where the survivors are doing, these are all skills that good killer needs to be successful... plus not being greedy with your m1 and timing it efficiently.
I'm with you on this one mate ;)
Oh #########, my bad neighbour. I thought you were serious haha. It's so hard to tell with just text alone, especially when a lot of the sarcastic sounding posts you see for this game are actually serious.

Let's forget about the fact that most high rank survivors can heal themselves with claudette's self heal perk or have someone else heal them if you don't tunnel someone into a hook at least. But being a killer takes no skill since you have to mind game survivors during a chase unless you're a high tier killer, or the fact that you need to be able to predict what the survivors are doing and know when to stop chasing someone, right?
You just contradicted yourself. Mindgaming IS a skill. Predicting where Survivors will go IS a skill. What do you think skill is for Killers? Hitting M1?

Monto also said that new Ruin still does that... When you are not a Potato. Just putting the Perk into the Perk Slot will not be enough in the future.
Lol no #########. It's just ridiculous that we need to take TWO perk slots to make it viable to work with. Was better when we just used one perk slot. Because as you noticed, Monto uses Surveillance almost all the time with the new Hex: Ruin. Two perk slots, just saying.

In the recent Q&A the devs told us that they will not increase generator time nore increase generator amaount to slow down the game because they think that it will be not fun for survivor just to click M1. And in my opinion they are correct that it is simply not fun pressing M1. They also told us that they dont want the matches to drag to much.
My solution: I am going to jump right on their idea and say: dont increase generator time but reduce hook time! I am not 100% sure how long it takes but I guess every Stage takes 1 min (lets say its 1 min for explanation purpose) so how about to cut the time in half. I know from my own survivor experience, I am not that dumb to rush instant to the hook instead I am sitting on the gen and waiting so long that I have enough time to resque the person about 3-5sec before struggle stage. And if the killer stays the 1 min near hook he will start being nervous that gens pop and noone is showing up. With 30 sec people would need to move their ass quicker to the hook and leave the gens in this case even the new ruin will have its use.
Now I have even a compromise for all survivors on this idea! I am sure survivor mains will HATE wait I just said BUT what if we make the stage time stay 1min but if the killer leaves the hook the progression is nearly trippled so if the killer hooks a person and leaves the hook immediately the person on the hook ends up with around 30sec hooktime but if the killer camps the hook the progress will stay and it will be the old 1min.
With this solution we would achive what the devs want fast games with a lot of action.
Sorry if anyone had this idea already, I am sure that such simple solution was in mind of many people but I still hope for some feedback and support if you liked it so that the Devs might consider this.
Omg yes please. If they're upping the stress for Killers, they should do the same for Survivors. Holding M1 is boring? Let's up the ante then!

@Predated said:
Not a dev, but sure as hell know 1 thing for sure.
If 1 perk is used in every single build, that perk needs changing or all other perks need changing. The biggest reason for the change in ruin, by my guess would be to give killers more reason to actually keep patrolling, rather than tunneling people and using a perk to control the rest of the game. If 1 perk can control the entire map, its too strong.
Swf genrushing has already been nerfed a bit, because the more people fix 1 generator, the slower each of them fixes it.
A good perk to counter gen rushing is discordance. If you need more than discordance to counter an swf or a gen-rush, you should stop tunneling people. Swf is fine as it is, if survivors play perfectly and the killer plays perfectly, the survivors should be escaping. That is the whole schtick of the game in the first place: work together to escape. The less survivors work together, the easier the killer has it.
Survivors need some balancing here and there, personally, some situations, its practically impossible for a survivor to do anything. Examples: hatch closing with 2 doors too close to actually open them, all survivors being on the hook because one person ######### up so much with no chance of getting off, wiggling being basically false hope, the hook on the secondfloor of the thompson house being practically a second basement with only 1 way out, making face camping all the more easier(at least add a place you can jump down from).
While I also believe bloodlust should be easier to achieve the more generators are fixed, with a slight nerf for early game bloodlust(taking 20-25 seconds for each level of bloodlust instead of 15 seconds), but with 5 generators fixed being a very big buff(taking 5 seconds for each level instead of 15 seconds).
Changing Ruin was needed, because it was broken and too strong as a single perk. They need to focus on the core gameplay. Stop complaining about ruin, and start looking for other aspects of the game that are obviously lacking in the current meta. Bloodlust is lacking, Killer offerings are lacking, some killers have addons that are practically useless unless in a very specific build, but that specific build isnt good enough to even consider, so making those specific builds more viable also helps.
I don't mean to sound rude but you, like the devs, completely ignored WHY 80% of Killers were using Hex: Ruin before it's change. Monto always gave a pretty ____ing good hint; "To slow the game down.... just a little bit."
-
With Hex: Ruin being reworked, a lot of Killer players are finding the game far more increasingly stressful. Are you thinking of any plans to slow down the game in some way like a second objective anytime soon?

There's legion mains?
Ummm yes there is. Just like Freddy had mains before his major rework. People still play Legion despite what's been done to them.
-
I like it, but it honestly feels like there's less to Legion now by doing this. Maybe if Legion's add-ons you reworked instead changed the playstyle of how you play Legion, to better emphasize that Legion is different people not the same person.
Kinda like how Myer's add-ons can change how he's played completely! (Like insta-kill EW3 Myers and Spoopy EW1 Myers).
For example, maybe since Frank's originally was the mixtape you used for damaging Survivors with Deep Wounds, you could make it so Frank's Mixtape applied Deep Wounds for those Legion mains who like how he was before the recent nerf. TDLR: Frank's Mixtape applied Deep Wounds during Feral Frenzy but become exhausted for 3 seconds after hitting a Survivor with Deep Wounds on them already.
Another example would be for Susie maybe where her Mixtape she doesn't gain the speed nor vault speed bonuses and instead has the ability to 1-shot a Survivor so long as she hasn't least 50% of her power gauge.

Agreed, Pipping thresholds for Killer is absolutely ridiculous right now. I got a 4k as nurse with only a 1% proximity deduction due to a Survivor who was hanging around a hooked Survivor one time, and I got a -1 pip with 28k BP. The hell is this garbage?
What's worse is that I got sick after seeing that ######### that I went to Survivor, was first to die within first 5 minutes of the game, only unhooked and healed one Survivor and didn't complete any gens. I got +2 pip at 11k BP. Like this system makes NO sense.
