I agree with this. Spamming a key adds nothing to gameplay but annoyance. This is one of those aspects that surprises me the most for how long it's been in the game and how little does for it. At least press-n-hold, even if not more fun, is less annoying. I understand it's called "struggle phase", but it's novelty wears out in the first 5 games. Not to mention the mechanic is so finicky that skipping a single beat instantly kills you. At this point, it's just an encouragement to rebind to mouse wheel down if you have infinite scroll, or make a macro.
Omg I remember pressing c by accident about 60% through struggle and my face became surprised like NOOOO I DIDNT WANT TO DO THAT

I'm stumped. I can't complete the survivor master challenge Last Minute Hero; safe unhook two survivors during end game in one match. Any one beat this yet? Please send hints, tips or prayers as I just can't get it. Thanks in advance.
Surprise surprise, I got it from a swf one of which left, and the other two got hooked while I hid behind some tires, saved them 3 times (because the killer was rank 13 and did not want them to leave)
IMPORTANT PART: Use Empathy, you can see hurt survivors so you can better position yourself
Borrowed time: if they are hit and still run to safety it counts as a safe unhook. It sounds bad but open the door asap and let the game play itself out, let that situation happen even if it risks losing the match. WHICH IS THE BIG ISSUE OF THESE CHALLENGES.

I have no problem with challenges that are meant to be spread over a couple matches like complete 25 gens.
I have no problem with challenges that requires you to use a specific perk like opening a certain amount of chests with plunderers instinct
I have no problem with challenges that require you to do a decent amount of things in one game for example heal people up four health states
However I have problems with challenges that require you to hope that a certain situation happens for you to even be able to attempt it.
Save two people during endgame collapse is ridiculous:
you would have to have at least three people survive until the gates are open including yourself you could do this with just one other person but it's harder.
Then you would have to hope those people go down.
Then you would have to hope that the killer doesn't defend their kills and allows you to get the save that's a safe rescue.
If it's not a safe rescue you're out of luck if someone beat you to it you're out of luck.
Any challenges that require you to hope something specific happens in the game is bad design.
Hell even with the four basement sacrifices you would have to hope that the survivors don't catch on to what you're doing and run away to the other side of the map or that they don't disconnect
Any challenges like the two I mentioned above or more that follow the same theme are just terrible
This situation took me 5 hours to achieve in only one opportunity, not to mention all the early dcs I did to avoid killers from camping me in the basement. The difficulty wasn't as hard as much as the opportunity for it to even happen. This along with normal booboo has left me with little tolerance of any kind leading me to dc often. Once the one trial missions are done I can finally play normally without having to worry about being murdered and camped early

What are some of y’alls favorite add on combos?
For me its definitely bleach and 2 extra bottles, I'm the kind of player that throws two during chase , one for the actual chase to catch up and another for after I hit them, either they go straight into the gas or detour and go to an unfavorable position

but nahhhhhhhhh they are totally finneeeeeeeee........nah they are totally BS, we really don't know what BHVR was thinking
I'm actually thinking about not playing dbd for a few days. Remember that one stream where the guy was like "play a different game"? I think I'll take you up on that offer

A lot of the challenges are unhealthy for the game, as they encourage certain types of gameplay.
I played 3 matches as survivor yesterday and I'm already having enough.
Definitely, at first I was like oh a noed EGC already? It's cool to see blood warden in play, I love that perk. But then i see all the camping and need to modify my perks to minimize the amount of fun taken out of the game. I legit had someone thank me for borrowed timing them after the game which I dc(ed)
