I wonder if this is why I get stomped by survivors as often as I do...
I do not run gen blocking/regressing/slowdown perks. I use chase and info perks with maybe an endgame perk or anti-bully perk like Lightborn or Mad Grit. I struggle to get kills and always ask why did the SBMMR think this was a fair match-up.
BUT, what if the game/SBMMR is "balanced" around the killer having many slowdown perks? Let's say that myself and other killers have the same rating. The other killers had a very fair match, but they used many slowdown perks. SBMMR matches those same survivors against me and assumes it to be a fair match, but I don't use the same perks so I have a harder time.
Well, no... because my rating should drop when I lose anyway. 🤔
Whatever. I stand by the game giving players a rating floor based on play time. I'm no god looper or meta killer, but because I've been playing since launch that's pretty much all I face. 🤷♂️
MMR works by reducing your score when you lose, and adding to it when you win. If your MMR is at the same level as killers using slowdown perks, you should be winning about as often (in theory). Your theory is correct if you suddenly stop using slowdown perks though, as your MMR was adjusted to your mechanical skill and your perk and killer choice. Suddenly picking worse perks will mean your MMR is no longer as predictive of your success, and it'll adjust downward as you lose.

I don't get the complaint here. If your time's so valuable, just let the animation finish?

ITT: people not understanding that people understand how hitboxes and ping work. We're saying the netcode should correct for ping differences like other PVP games.
And most other games also favor the attacker like this, because the alternative is having to aim ahead of the target to account for their ping when attacking.

What's the satisfaction of playing a racing game where you get 1st place, but everyone else still crosses the finish line? Same concept. Or an FPS like CS:GO and one team wins more rounds than the other even though both teams are "alive". Or a fighting game when time runs out? Or a MOBA when you destroy the enemies base while they are still alive? Or an RTS where you destroy the enemies base without fighting their army?
Killing isn't the only thing in video games that amounts to a win.
And in many of those sorts of games, people frequently prefer to ignore the objective and just deathmatch. Now, you're trying to convince people who've won by killing for years that actually killing doesn't matter and it's just the hooks? To me, this feels like making hockey games won by shots on the goal, not actual goals, and hoping people just play along.

How about we balance the game with hooks and chases instead of kills. That would make the game more fun for everyone.
Because I don't think the game can tell you "You win!!!" enough to make four survivors running out the gate feel more like a win than no survivors running out the gate.

Otz and his rank 20 viewerbase isn't "everybody in this community". The most watched Korean DBD Twitch streamer has Clown on A tier, for example.
That's nice, but I still don't think clown is very good.

I'm not surprised to see how many pedantic boot lickers are in this thread. There's the old phrase that the "spirit of the law" comes before "the letter of the law" and that kind of philosophy should be promptly applied here. If they had any sense the rule should be immediately revised, team eternals disqualification reversed, and that killer should be banned for being such a weak and petty #########. No one should have time or patience for these games. This is DBD, not jurispudence. The organizers should use their discretion and not let this guy make a clear mockery out of their tournament.
Normally, I'm a bit more amenable to spirit of the rule arguments, but did it escape you that the rules explicitly forbid the use of new survivors as well? I don't think it's possible that the rules couldn't mean that.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/384329/why-is-bhvr-nerfing-sadako
Why is it that when killers get a "nerf", they're suddenly 4king and condemning everyone.
But survivors get a nerf and now their 8 streak lose streaks suddenly become 10 streak lose streaks.
Because neither scenario actually happened.

Some sort of map-prevention system but for killers. You can only select 3 at a time (so you can't rule out the entire cast lol) and it works so it lowers your chances of facing those killers by a big margin (i assume a 100% decrease would be too much).
Which killers would you select to face less? I'd personally choose Wesker, the Skull Merchant and the Nurse.
Block nurse, wesker, and blight and rake in the easy wins without the having to face the best characters

I haven't played in about a year or whenever they released SBMMR (the "DBD is like hockey" fiasco) and my solo queue teammate quality went right down the toilet. My experience seemed to be shared by a ton of people, that being:
- Survivors wouldn't do gens, even if the killer was chasing me for minutes on end
- Survivors wouldn't be able to last more than a few seconds in chase
- Survivors would often suicide on their first hook
- Killer would be a top tier pick (blight, spirit etc) with top tier perks
- Survivors would be running random, low tier perks
I'm just wondering if they ever tuned the matchmaking or if the UI update helped match quality at all. I also remember my killer games being super sweaty and often getting matched against 4 man clans running full meta builds.
Match quality has gotten a bit better with the ui, but solo queue is still solo queue.

"just wait it out"
it's a 0.5 second ability... if you're complaining about a 0.5 secondability that can only be used when you're injured and must be timed perfectly then that's more on your skill as a killer not that its imbalanced.
>waits it out
>pallet hits you in the head
Wow very successful, now they still have dead hard and a pallet between us

I have had zero issue with Dead Hard since I started playing DBD in 2019, so no it is not related.
Over-rated perk, that never even needed to be changed--it boggles my mind that a killer cannot wait 1 extra second to counter the perk. All Arguments made in favor of its oppressiveness are gross exaggerations and niche cases.
How many loops can you actually wait an extra second in without getting a pallet in the face?

Its not the team that plays better. But the team with the most players left on the field that "wins".
But eliminating the opposing team's players *is* the goal in dead by daylight. As such, playing better is eliminating more of the enemy team.

After Dead Hard gets inevitably nerfed, Killers will come for Sprint Burst within the next week after. Calling it right now.
Hah, I remember when people were saying that after the 6.1 dead hard "nerf"

You must not have been around last summer when they hugely nerfed DH
And everyone still uses it, what a huge nerf

No way, 10% on kicked gens won't even be as good a jolt, and we all know how op jolt is. Aura reading on repairing survivors after downs is perhaps the least useful time. The only time the aura will be useful is if someone is repairing a generator very nearby and you're slugging. At least gearhead can help you find people outside of chase.

6500 hours and “top in the world” and you couldn’t counter DH? Something doesn’t add up. DH is really not that hard to work around. 😂
If it's easy to work around, why is it so used by the top players? Surely they don't take a bad perk just for fun.

Even if they take dead hard out the game.. killers are going to complain about something.. next it will be nerf sprint burst.. then nerf medkits.. then "it should be a 2v1 not 4v1"... "why do survivors have 2 health states"... "survivors shouldnt have perks"... killers are the strongest they ever been and ya still complain
Ah, just like the last "nerf" to Dead Hard?
