I’ve been having a lot of fun in the Chaos Shuffle lobbies and I actually wish it was sticking around longer than it is. Lights Out is okay for a few matches but the novelty wears off pretty fast.

As someone who started playing this game in 2017, I genuinely believe that newer players, social media, and content creators are making the discourse around this game worse.
I don't remember Sprint Burst or Lithe ever being perks that people actively complained about. The fact they've existed for years without significant changes says a lot. The perk that people consistently took issue with was Dead Hard because it gave free distance, extended chases, and let survivors bypass traps. The whole Sprint Burst and Lithe discourse only really seemed to take off over the last year or so, and it honestly feels like it came out of nowhere.
I also don't think a perk being popular automatically means it's a problem. I especially dislike the "Sprint Burst gives free distance" argument because... isn't that the entire purpose of the perk? It's supposed to create distance.
Some of these newer killer players and streamers wouldn't have survived back in 2017 when exhaustion recovered while you were running, allowing Sprint Burst to activate multiple times in a single chase. That was genuinely problematic, and I'm glad they changed how exhaustion works. Since then, though, I've felt that exhaustion perks have been in a pretty healthy spot. They're stronger when paired with Vigil, but I'd hardly call that combination broken. Survivors shouldn't be getting multiple Sprint Burst activations in the same chase anymore, even with Vigil and Fixated. If they are, that's probably more down to how the chase was played than the perks themselves.
I think it's become easier for people to blame perks than to look at what they could have done differently or recognise where they misplayed a chase. I've gone against so many TTV players who immediately list every survivor perk at the end of the match as if that alone explains why they lost. It's such a backwards mindset.
I'm honestly glad I don't use exhaustion perks anymore because I already know what's going to happen if this Sprint Burst nerf goes through. More people will switch to Lithe, and then Lithe will become the next perk everyone decides is a problem.

This is the issue. The game doesn't explain it to you at all in-game. But yeah, your build is nerfed. Things that apply percentages like healing speed, gen speed, and haste or hinderd are reduced in value with each subsequent perk added to the build.

The haste in Babysitter clashes with the basekit haste off hook.
Well that seems like an oversight in regards to Babysitter. It’s a shame I won’t be able to run my full medic build anymore. It could be a godsend in solo queue when teammates were being hard slugged.

I think it was mostly a bad and lazy idea so far. They have too many perks to juggle and don't want to think about their applications and end up with accidental busted synergies so they just did this. But it didn't touch the most meta perks on either side. Survivor is still a blend of SB/Lithe, Vigil, Windows, DH, DS, and the occasional Stakeout/Hyperfocus and killer is almost all gen blockers and regress with maybe an aura thrown in. Not sure why they wanted to further narrow the meta. I also think it's stupid there's nothing in the game explaining to you your specific build is diminished. I see people running diminished builds all the time and they probably have no idea.
And the fact that it nerfed Babysitter is so dumb.
What has been nerfed with Babysitter? I use that perk quite a lot as it seems to really help a lot in solo queue when the killer decides to proxy camp / tunnel.

I haven’t played the game in a few months but does this affect healing builds? For example, if I wanted to bring We’ll Make It, Botany Knowledge, Do No Harm and Empathic Connection would I no longer do a really fast heal? I’m a little lost on what diminishing returns actually does.
Edit: I re-read your main post and realised you did mention heals. So I guess my medic build is dead in the water? -

It is honestly ridiculous that it is possible that someone can ruin almost 6k games for the other side while only losing 3 times. And those 6k games in the most toxic and sweaty way.
Yeah, not to sound like a Debbie downer but as somebody who only plays in solo queue I really dislike when I go against a TTV player who is attempting some sort of win streak as it’s just so unnecessarily sweaty.
I remember a match that happened around January / February of this year where my entire team disconnected and the Ghoul player was constantly slugging the bots to look for me so I couldn’t attempt to get the hatch. They were a fellow PS5 player and their bio was full of stats they’ve achieved on certain killers. Each to their own, but with how busted the MMR is, I just couldn’t bring myself to brag over such things. I had a Jane in my lobby last night who had 30 hours. 3O HOURS. Keeping in mind I’ve been playing since 2017. She was killed almost instantly as the Blight player just targeted her and I felt so bad. It must be so demotivating as a newer player to be put in lobbies with people with a much higher play time than you. This also happens with killers as well, but I seem to notice it more on the survivor side.

I could have sworn you gain the Oblivious status effect when you’re afflicted by Alien Instinct? As I always know that the killer has seen my aura after hooking my teammate and plan accordingly. In terms of aura perks, that’s one thing I love about 2V8 as you know for certain when your aura has been exposed by the killer. I’m not sure if that would be overkill in 1V4, but I wouldn’t be against them trialing it.

I sadly did that last night as trapper took about 6 games to do 15 void hooks, felt bad slugging to bait more in here but survivors at endgame chat understood the annoying challenge T_T
I suppose that's a bit different as you are intending to hook the survivors to do the challenge. The killers I've encountered doing it didn't ever actually hook anybody lol. I had a poor Meg who ended up bleeding out in there as the killer came out to chase me and nobody else went in to pick her up. I also don't think some people fully pay attention to the HUD and because they can't see the survivors aura on the floor, they don't realise the reason they can't see them is because they're in The Void.

Play with friends, don't play solo queue
I prefer to play games alone. Not everybody is big on socialising. There's a reason why my friend requests are turned off on PS5.

Just dont go into the void
I’ll have to look online if there’s a way to learn telepathy so I can communicate with my random teammates and tell them to stop going into The Void injured when the killer keeps slugging in there. 🤣

I listen to music in between matches, but never during as I feel like I wouldn’t be able to concentrate properly and I also like to hear hex totems, killers movement / breathing. Listening to music as a killer probably isn’t as taxing, but it feels like a death sentence as a survivor! lol
Edit: But in terms of artists / bands I have a pretty eclectic taste in music so it just depends on what I’m feeling at the moment. Recently I’ve been playing the new All Time Low and Three Days Grace albums a lot with some Smash Into Pieces, Evanescence and Imagine Dragons sprinkled in.

Yall go in the void ?
Absolutely! I like to earn as much BP as I can and you get a lot more of it from opening portals and transferring void energy, plus I really like the void crystals lol. I also use the portals quite a lot during chases and I’ve managed to lose a lot of killers by doing so. Also, if you learn which portal leads to which part of the map it can make traversing around so much quicker when going for unhooks, repairs or opening exit gates.

You should be brought out of the void after 10 to 15s slugged in the void. I've been slugged in the void and there was nothing my team could do because of how the void mechanics work.
Although i don't think you should have a free run from the killer interacting with the void slugging in the void its just too strong right now, speciallly at endgame
There’s obviously scenarios where the killer will have to slug, such as if there are multiple survivors in The Void etc but it does feel like a huge oversight to make it that survivors have no way of exiting The Void if they’re permanently slugged in there. Some teammates won’t even pick you up from the ground in a normal match, but now we’re expecting them to locate a portal and then come to pick you up? 👀

Collective Vengeance would prove that Nea really is The Entity with how much gen regression she’d cause in a single trial! I do love the chaos of it though and it’s a really unique perk idea. In fact, I love everything about this idea and wish it was real.
Question about Never Gone, would the expose linger after the survivor left the exit gate? Because that and Blood Warden would be fun to play with.

I don’t understand the players that go into event queues to actively try to play in a way that’ll annoy somebody else and the reason I said players is because this is something that both sides are guilty of doing. I’ve encountered killers going out of their way to hardcore slug people at 5 gens, slug people in The Void, proxy camp at 5 gens and hard tunnel to survivors all bringing Brand New Parts, using Saboteur / Breakout builds or chasing the killer around all game with a flashlight.
I just find it strange when there’s two queues. You’re not being forced to play the event, so why not go into the normal queue? I wish more people saw events as a way to have some chill / fun games. I’m not saying every match should just be farming, but we also don’t have to play like we’re in the finals of a DBD Competitive Tournament.I get so many killers who won’t let you transfer your energy in The Void if they find you which reminds me of the people who down you whilst you’re interacting with a glyph. It wouldn’t kill you to wait for 5 seconds for me to complete the transfer and THEN down me. It’s a win-win situation.
Shoutout to the players who aren’t playing in the event queue like your life is depending on it. 💜

For sure, and here is one of our adventures as the Foxy squad (along with a random Mikaela).
Even better that the killer also had "tails", and was totally into our anticsI love the random Mikaela in the corner. 🤣

Ah that is nice! Thanks for representing us Brits out there! 🫖🇬🇧
You could say that she’s one For The British People…

I love seeing a variety of survivor and killer names popping up throughout the thread. I would probably have been a Yui main if Vittorio didn’t exist as I love her character design, lore and cosmetics a lot. They are normally always really good teammates as well.

I think this is happening to everybody because of the AWS outage. I have been able to find matches intermittently but it seems to have gotten worse now to the point it keeps kicking me to the main menu. My Bloodweb is also completely broken and whenever I try to spend BP I’m sent back to the main menu.
I’ve also just ran out of Arcane Dousing Rods on Vittorio so this is awful timing as I need to use my BP. 😅
