  • Apparently, my first response to you was deleted by a moderator. So, perhaps just saying if something were that obvious, I wouldn't have asked will be acceptable.

Head On is a decent and REALLY fun perk and takes skill to use, and Rancor allows you to instadown and kill your obsession in the endgame, which is very situational but it's an okay perk. Also, I'm All Ears ain't useless, it's a decent chase perk, and Blood Pact is an okay perk.

I shouldn't have used the word "useless" and stated more clearly that the latter two don't seem like they'd be of great use *with the killers/survivors/perks I have available.* Thanks for the input.

If you're on playstation i find it through the playstation store through the actual games page and then went to add ons

Yeah, I just looked in the game store and apparently have to purchase it through the link there. Idk why it's not showing up yet in Xbox Playstore. Thanks!

  • At this time, I am not seeing the RE add-on available in the playstore. Is it not actually available currently there and must be purchased in the game store??

  • @TragicSolitude said:

You obviosly dont play killer! SWF is why i loose every match! Take away there perks!! And comms!!! And hands!!!! ๐Ÿคฌ

Hands are too OP and need to be nerfed.

  • As of this post, the voting is exactly 50/50. So much for a poll resolving the issue but thanks to everyone who took the time to vote and especially to comment. For now, I think it's something I can continue to hold off on, since cosmetics are not a huge inducement for me, and I don't even have most locked characters.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

It's not worthwhile but I do it anyway. I just can't bring myself to take any character past level 50 if they're not prestiged. It's a sickness, send help.

The Doc is otw, and he's going to show you his polished electrode.

  • To me, it seemed easier to begin learning dbd as a survivor, and so I did. By the time I reached level 50 with Meg and had played Feng and Nea a bit, I was so sick of other survivors, that I knew Plague would be my first unlocked killer. I like her look. I like her back-story, and there is nothing better after a day of grinding solo survivor than the catharsis and glee of vomiting on survivors. That said, I agree whole-heartedly that she deserves some attention. In addition to the many good points already made, the speed of vile and corrupt purge is ridiculous at any distance other than right on a survivor's heels. Compared to Huntress, Deathslinger, and Trickster, the amount of time it takes for vile and corrupt purge to reach a survivor at any distance would allow someone to go to the drugstore, buy anti-nausea medication, return and slip it into a pool of devotion, and Clown's and Doc's weapon and power have areas-of-effect that the purge does not remotely possess. As for purge being comparable to Trickster's daggers, I would very much like to learn the source of that description, because it looks to me like a sustained torrent of bile, and when it hits what's directly on the right and left of a survivor running in a straight line, without getting so much as a drop on his/her back, MY impression is that it's a problem of mechanics.

  • Thanks, everyone, for the very useful feedback and info!

  • @FancyMrB said:

Its an amazing perk and pairs well with many others.

I think its extra useful on certain killers that can move quickly around the map (Freddy, Demo, Blight, even the Twins). Really it works for all tho.

If you get it make sure you keep it in tier 1! At tier 3 its not as good. Same goes for discordant.

What makes Surveillance more effective at Tier 1, than it is at Tier 3?

  • What is the primary obstacle to maintaining consistently balanced match-making, and will that ever be resolved? Does using the player feedback/reporting at the end of a trial accomplish *anything*?

  • After new dlc rolls out, and even just now and then, my pipping/ranking can go completely bonkers. I have scored almost 30k and not gotten a single pip or de-pipped, scored terribly and gotten a safety, when I should have lost a pip, seemingly lost multiple pips at one time, when I should have at least safetied, and logged in to find my rank different from when I had last logged out.

  • I truly wish I could live in the ideal world people who try to rationalize dc-ing seem to live in, while also complaining that there is any penalty for doing so. In the many months I have played the game, I have dced due to connection interruption twice. I have also deliberately done so very sparingly due to every other team-mate doing so early on or some true bs happening--killer farming with others while tunneling/hooking me, etc. In those instances, it did not bother me in the least to wait a matter or minutes to find a new match. The endless parade of people who think that because they "bought the game" they should be catered to over all other game concerns astounds me.

  • @vacaman said:

I'm actually against killers that give free hatch and stuff like that because it ######### even more matchmaking that it already is giving them a free pip.

This is the thinnest excuse for rationalizing never occasionally just doing something nice for the sake of doing it I've heard in a while. Given how all over the place matchmaking is on most days, I seriously doubt a random (and likely temporary) pip is going to affect the situation to any degree. First of all, in my experience as survivor, being given hatch or gate as the last person alive happens VERY rarely. Even more rarely, the killer will acknowledge that I was with three potatoes or obnoxious players who do not want to do anything other than run around, teabagging and clicking flashlights, never once touching a gen or doing anything else productive. I appreciate the acknowledgement, and since I do and it happens infrequently, I am happy to pay it forward when I play killer.

yeah....there is a ripping? sound when it opens and closes. but its kinda quiet

I mean in proximity to a close but undetected one, like Small Game.

  • Is there any kind of audible cue associated with these? In multiple trials, having the challenge activated, I keep hearing a strange sound I can't otherwise identify.

It would have been nice if they converted into blood points. I remember on Warcraft that some special items were turned into gold when they weren't useful anymore. That being said i rushed and used all mine so i'm good.

I had a bunch left on killers, because I was almost exclusively grinding survivors. I'm going to send a sternly worded e-mail to BHVR, suggesting they attend to this matter. No doubt, it will SKYROCKET to the top of their to-do list! ๐Ÿ˜„

  • lol, oh boy! An entire year of waiting for matches and random team-mates before I can use them! I'll be in a psychiatric ward by then. ๐Ÿ˜ต

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one. I wish I could get rid of all the useless (imo) offerings I don't use, just to clear the clutter and find what I use more easily.

  • Good point. They could still be converted to some other type of offering, it seems, even if not at a one-for-one rate.

I've been getting crouching idiots all day. Finally took off Kindred since there was no point in running it.

The number of people who either don't pay attention to kindred or apparently don't realize that those yellow auras running around (or not) are *us* is astounding. If I have to leave a gen to run entirely across the map one more time to unhook someone next to whom some useless jughead has been crouching, I'm going to just start collaborating with the killer.

  • I personally am just beyond sick of people, most of whom I really don't think intend to farm, not having BT and unhooking me with the killer 6 feet away. I mean, seriously, it's not rocket surgery. Go do anything else rather than stupidly pulling me off a hook in the worst moment, not intending to take a hit at least, while I *try* to get away. I'd rather die on first hook if gens got done than to be pulled pointlessly and counter-productively off a hook.

  • So, DH is the perk du jour to be inserted into the same conversation that takes place on the forums over and over and over. You're sick of DH and think it's op. Gee, I bet there are no survivors who think the same about plenty of killer perks, and who cares about "they're going to be" rumors about nerfing this or that? The game we have today is the game we have to play, if you CHOOSE to play the game. I've watched countless hours of major youtubers going against top-tier swf's and their most common response to an attempted DH is an amused, sarcastic "Sick dead hard, dude!" The extremely rare instance is when someone uses it effectively, at just the right moment, to make any difference whatsoever in the outcome of a chase, and when someone does, the response is an admiring (and possibly surprised) "Wow, that was a really good dead hard," usually followed by the streamer breaking chase or still getting the down. When I play survivor, I never use DH. It has not even activated enough times for me to consider it uselessly unreliable. As usual, in my opinion, the elephant in the room which is making no attempt to hide itself is whether you are up against an effective SWF all of whom are running DH, or are you against a random team. EVERY decent perk is a nightmare against a good swf and NO perk is going to save a quartet of solo's; therefore, this, like every other post complaining about every other survivor perk, is less about the perk and more about facing swf's versus solo squads.

  • When I play survivor, it is 99% of the time solo, and I consider myself lucky if I'm not teamed up with people who hide in lockers, play statue, or crouch around the outside of the map the entire trial. My entire build is based on the concept that I will be trying to do a little bit of everything entirely on my own, expecting to be killed eventually, but being satisfied if I play well at least. Most of the people with whom I'm teamed up do not seem to be even a 2-person swf, much less 3, so maybe the situation is worse on Steam. As killer, if I can tell that I'm dealing with a swf--matching outfits, similar tags, etc. I just leave the lobby and wait for another one.

  • When I play killer, I don't care if I don't get a single kill, as long as I played and scored well, esp against a good swf. When I play survivor, I don't care if I don't escape, as long as I played and scored well, esp as a solo. Too many killers try to get a 4k asap, resulting in a boring, low-scoring game for everyone, and too many survivors try to slam 5 gens and peace out asap, resulting in a boring, low-scoring game for everyone. That there are so many players who are rabid about playing either role exclusively and who are blindly passionate about demonizing the opposing role is the biggest, voluntary absurdity of dbd and is the result of players, not game issues, not updates, not perks, nothing else. This game could be used as a diagnostic tool for personality disorders, the way a large portion of people play and behave in it. Don't pay attention to the sour grapes of the perpetual whiners on either side. They are the unfortunately present Karens and Kens of dbd, and they are inescapable in every facet of life.

How exactly is you having BAD teammates the DEV's fault? Do you think they can magically match you with only Superstars? :) Your other gripes have nothing to do with your MAIN complaint, i.e. your teammates suck. That is on you and them to correct.

I count at least ten or more points OP makes, but you're somehow able to discern that his "MAIN" point is team-mates, aka poor match-making, and since the devs aren't responsible for the play quality of random team-mates, all other points are irrelevant? ๐Ÿค”

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/229153/apparently-chasing-someone-is-tunneling

Nope nope nope, i play both killer and survivor alot and the killer has the speed and weapons. If you cant use the huntresses ax then thats a personal problem and you just have to practice with them. Right now the hit box is broken and killer has all the advantage. Its not even worth being the survivor right now. Dont complain about a game that greatly favors the killer cuz you haven't practiced with a certain killer.

Excellent job of entirely not getting OP's point--which was that a swf survivor accused him of camping/tunneling when they were swarming a hook. He didn't whine about his hatchet-throwing; he simply sarcastically acknowledged it as Huntress' primary power and he's not responsible for an update bug that has hit boxes out of whack. Is he supposed to not play killer, until the issue is resolved? For someone who claims to play both survivor and killer, you certainly seem in a hurry to invalidate his point and defend the behavior that inspired his post.

  • @MottledElm said:

Wait, you mean you still were in the map after hooking someone? Don't you know that makes you a camper?

๐Ÿ˜† Lingering long enough to simply ring my Wraith bell has earned me the accusation of camping. I laugh and recommend the accusers look up the definition and shatter their delicate, eggshell minds with the revelation that it is completely permissible for me to do it, should I choose to.

  • Best advice I ever finally accepted, embrace, and now pass along--stop caring what survivors think or write once a trial is over. Unless it's "gg" or something else cordial or useful, it's meaningless. If you can't just ignore it, change your settings so that random players can't message you, depending upon your respective settings. It's YOUR time spent playing a game you have every right to enjoy, so enjoy it. Use toxic swf's as learning experiences and then forget about them. They are among the biggest cry-babies on the internet.

  • The fact that Huntress has the potential ability to snipe me from across the world has always seemed a bit ridiculous. That she is a ranged killer makes her lethal enough. Enabling her to be a SEAL Team 6 sniper is overkill, no pun intended.

  • This likely will be an unpopular/minority opinion, but I think penalties for dc's should be increased. If there was no penalty for it in the past, I can't imagine the game even being playable. At present, in my experience, dc's are still chronic, and it is unlikely the weather just happens to be responsible, when it involves the first person downed or hooked in the first seconds or minute of the trial, and the domino effect it can have is absurd. Obviously, expecting a game to enable/disable a feature based on random, local weather is, let's just say, an ambitious expectation I don't see placing high on BHVR's list anytime soon. If I were experiencing droppage due to weather in my area, DbD isn't the game I'd choose to play. I nearly break my neck just to deal with a low-battery alert before a trial starts, because I don't want to be responsible for adversely affecting the team, if I'm playing survivor. As for playing the game "casually," I don't even know what that would feel like. I expect an assymetrical, survival, horror game that teams me with random people against a bullpen of killers with powers my simple gen-repairing/unhooking/healing mind barely comprehends or pits my best killer against a super-toxic spec-ops swf team, armed with time machines that have popped 3 gens by the time the trial starts, and I spend the match blind the entire time to feel all kinds of ways, but casual isn't among them. If penalties for dc's reduced their prevalence, modestly increasing them should help more, because it is still a huge issue. It seems like it would be far more possible to simply re-set a trial in the event of a dc/dc's, than it would be to account for weather.

  • I only play trapper if I have a rift challenge and won't even bother with daily rituals, because I just can't do much with him, no matter how many hours of youtube videos I study. On certain maps, some players are absolutely deadly with him, but I daresay there are few Trapper mains out there. He could definitely use some help imo.

  • That was sincerely very interesting, insightful, and explains a lot. Thanks for the share! On a sidenote, I think "Humiliated by Twerking" might be the title of a future memoir. ๐Ÿ˜„

  • If I love a franchise/game, I want it to thrive and evolve, no matter how much I might have been driven crazy by it. Case in point: Fallout 76. I'm a huge fan of the franchise but have never before seen a game faceplant so spectacularly at launch. Do I occasionally complain to others about the game? Of course, as do they, and then we recite our default mantra: This is a perfect game with no flaws. But there seems to be something above and beyond in DbD, that I have not seen elsewhere. The intensity and mean-spirited, personal nature of the griefing and taunting and trash-talking is just super weird to me. I don't get wrapped up in it; I just block people, but the guilty parties don't do the game a service by remaining.

  • Apologies for the imprecision of my wording, but yes--whether the item fully refreshes upon successful escape and how many charges an action takes was what I had in mind. The only numbers I ever see next to an item are in my loadout screen, which is obviously the total number of a specific item I have, not how many charges remain. Thanks for the info!
