In what scenario is Borrowed Time used for now?

The wording on the perk is very odd. Is it meant to be "When you gain Deep Wound from Endurance, you be fully mended after 30s"? So it bypasses Deep Would from Killer powers such as Legion, Deathslinger, Houndmaster, Ghoul? So for instance if you're hit off hook, 30s later you won't be in deep wound anymore? If you use DH you won't be in Deep Wound after 30s? MFT or WGLF?

It just seems even more niche that it was before. Is there anyway we can revisit the 9.3.0 PTB version of the perk to actually make it somewhat viable?

  • You can get hit off hooked and use dead hard after automend fe. I feel it's terrible design and don't feel good about removing last resource to protect other players from being tunneled.

  • Idk about the 9.3.0 PTB rework of BT coming to the game, but the current PTB version is even more useless than you think. It's specifically "When you gain Deep Wound from Endurance," so it does not work against killer powers that put you directly into mending state. So it has no use against Ghoul, Deathslinger, Houndmaster, or Legion, although with Legion it might have been an active detriment considering it might enable them to combo more.

The only use I've seen anybody come up with is taking aggressive protection hits for the person who unhooked you when you are unhooked, then 30s later you can use Dead Hard. Which encourages body blocking with unhook protections, very healthy design lmao. Otherwise it's completely useless and only saves you a few seconds on a mend.

  • Ok so imagine this. Off the Record + Borrowed Time + Moment of Glory + Idk DS. It is crazy good now, could be meta again for those people who are creative.

I was playing around with combos with bots, and unfortunately the bots were still trying to use DH while in deep wound lmao. they weren't waiting for the deep wound to go away.

the only real scenario its helpful in is using DH or adrenaline if you get hit off hook but that's hoping you continue running for 30s and your teammates holding off on finishing the gen.

reminds me of power struggle. you rarely get use out of it unless you put a whole build around it.

Yeah pretty much, although at least with Power Struggle it can be funny (for the survivor). I will say you can use OTR so you don't have to take the hit directly off hook, but it's still not good.

  • i forsee the pick rate of bt going to near zero. it doesnt take long to mend, and if your being chased, what good does free mending do? your in chase and either escape and mend or go down in which healing the mend did nothing. and if you get deep wound and arent chased, whats the need to have it healed automatically when you can safely spend a few seconds mending? i dont really see much use case
