Feedback on Killer balance and pallet density on indoor maps (Midwich & RCPD)
Subject: Feedback on Killer balance and pallet density on indoor maps (Midwich & RCPD)
Hello Devs, I would like to share some feedback regarding the current state of M1/Loop-dependent Killers (like The Legion) in the current patch. Right now, playing Killer feels incredibly stressful due to the combination of high generator repair speeds and the massive amount of safe pallets/god-pallets on indoor maps, specifically Midwich Elementary School and Raccoon City Police Department. On these maps, if you play a Killer without high mobility or anti-loop powers, it is almost impossible to catch up. Survivors can easily chain one safe pallet into another, while generators are popping in the background. Because of the map sizes and hallway structures, Killers lose all pressure. Please consider tweaking the pallet spawn logic on indoor maps or adjusting the base regression system to help Killers maintain map pressure. Thank you.

Midwich and RPD are very killer sided overall. If you look them up on Nightlight right now, Midwich and RPD East Wing are in the top 5 deadliest maps, last month Midwich was number 1. If you're struggling on Midwich, which has been one of the most killer sided maps in the game for years, you should be thankful that it's been bugged for months and in a lot of games one or two rooms where a pallet should spawn just don't have one.
As someone who plays a lot of Ghostface, who is literally the m1 killer as he literally has no chase power (unless you count crouching) I understand that having no proper anti-loop power can make playing around pallets difficult. Honestly I find it less frustrating on RPD, as the map is very set in stone so after a while you pretty much know where every pallet spawns and can herd the survivor away from the better ones, or you learn how to outplay the common ones. Midwich has very few safe pallets, most of them are just okay and by the end of the game the survivors often are struggling to find any pallets left.
Midwich is also challenging for survivors because of the missing pallets mentioned above, some survivors have trouble finding the generators, and totem spawns are also very tricky. The narrow halls are also good for projectile killers.
Standard map has about 25 pallets. Should be 15 pallets imo to be balanced. Would also make killers like Bubba or Myers much better rather than predropping breaking simulator
Base generator repair speeds are fine and in fact have been increased in the past from 80s to 90s . The main issue are perk combos ( hyperfocus - stakeout , dejavu needs no repair bonus , built to last ) . Perks can be too impactfull at speeding up the main objective . I would much rather see these perks being looked at then ever increasing base repair speed again because that would be a boring change and no one wants to sit on a gen even longer.
how it is hard to catch up on rpd one of the most killer sided maps in the game and its my favorite map as survivor lmao
rpd is one of the best maps for holding W against killers with no mobility . I live it as blight tough . Here is a vid to explain https://youtu.be/jnb1lLDlIsQ?is=VGfrdWgrMfrm78FR
just stop responding to him bro, he is here to ragebait people
I can reply, but his 'ragebait' as you called it is the pure truth: @lovlor has right, Meat Plant has more or less 22 pallets that you can count with Zanshin Tactics for example. It's the easier way to notice how this map is FULL of pallets (good or bad) whereas Midwich has just a defined number of pallets & vaults that it respects your 'standard': 17 pallets, 3 vaults, 3 breakable walls . Just like RPD…
MacMillans, Coldwins Farms, Borgo, Trickster's Delusion, Crotus, Autoheaven, Eeriye, RPD…
Did you really count them all between yesterday & today ? I've never counted so many on all these or I should count them again to see it by myself… Or we don't count in the same way…
Pick yourself zanshin and do it. :)
I'm trying but Denuvo doesn't make it easy.
Just to claim, I'm not convincing anyone that those pallets are equally as strong, that would be silly. Some of them are litteraly those Z-wall type pallets but they are there. I defienetly am sure there are 25+ pallets. I won't do a video myself, but you can check it anytime you want. Don't forget the maps dont always spawn same amount.
