Make the halloween event as heavily killer-sided as this anniversary is survivor-sided
That's it. Let killers have a number of additional mechanics to help them in chase and for gen protection, where they can spam those additional abilities as well, and give survivors an ability to reduce scratch mark density to compensate.
If someone doesn't like the balance, kind people from steam and this forum can suggest that they just don't play the event.

The poison was a lot stronger than you are downplaying it.
Both sides had stuff which was strong, survivors were a bit more unpredictable as their power wasn't the same every match, some powers were bad against X killer, like the invis, some particle effects would persist when the invis activated and coughs etc.
so are we just ignoring the past Events that were heavily killer sided? As well as the fact that plenty of survivors are just throwing during events to overuse the gimmicks and ignore the objective?
Can you give actual examples of events that were that bad for survivors? "previous ones" is way too vague, and I'm sorry (not really), but I won't accept an event from, say 2017 as an example: I didn't play the game, and the team didn't have 10 years of balancing behind their backs. During the events I've witnessed survivors were able to remotely block windows to prevent killers from vaulting, while they were able to vault just fine. I don't remember an event that was THAT heavily killer-sided anyways with barely anything giving survivors an edge.
Players throwing is not an argument in favor of the "balance" existing in this event either. I get match against those who know what they're doing, and sometimes know that too well, especially during this event.
yeah. The Twisted Masquerade. Were Killers were able to remote hook and remote break pallets. And the window blocking was really situational and short, mostly negligible.
insta healss were there with the Bag of Tryks but also only with Exposed, balancing out. Also incentives to do chests and totems instead of gens..
and its not like Killers don’t have anything here as well, poison can be very strong and isnt randomly selected..
Saying about survivor devs when Jason just came out and Judgment is on the way seems mocking to me.
I mean if we using that logic the Halloween event has also swayed to killer in past so it should be another survivor sided event. one year the killers could legit two tap people with haunts.
Year 4-7 there were pedestals that rewarded you with cometics and you had tome to get full outfits and that was it, no event mechanics.
Then there were 3 years of Twisted Masquarade that was very killer sided event.
This year we got somewhat most balanced event for both sides, not saying fun. But killer got kill button ability and survivors got instaheals, portals and dashes.
I personally hope this event never comes back due to lack of rewards, frustrating mechanics on both sides and mainly extreme sweat from killer players so my casual friends just gave up on grinding bp. Nothing is black and white. But I p100 First and Kwon so, at least something from it.
Past masquarade events.
You can't deny that remote pallet break wasn't broken, right?
The tables can heal surviviors, but every table needs 4 dishes to be activated.
Every dish was taking time to get, move and leave on the table.
This takes time to finish, its not instant.
The only time when it was very punishing for killer was when killer would play "hit and run" tactic.
We can argue that teleports, invisibility, invincibility, not being able to break the pallet or dash were strong and stuff, but poison was extremely unengaging and strong. Everything was easily countered - surviviors made noises, you could wait for invincibility to end, it was just like old styptic - nothing new, easy to play around.
Killer could use it and get free hits within few seconds, you can't say it was "just a fart" like content creators called them.
I don't believe that event was heavily survivior sided, just slightly.
This is exactly how you guarantee that the entire playerbase just stops caring about events.
If an event becomes a compensation to one side for not getting much before, it will suck too, just in the opposite way.
