Miscellaneous things I really want to be added / changed about the game

  1. Make survivor’s noises roughly the same loudness (different from volume). This doesn't have to be exact, but at the very least there are universally accepted quietest and loudest survivors, such as Bill and Jeff being louder than the flush of my toilet at 3am, and at the very least those can be adjusted to be slightly quieter or louder.
  2. More servers and more personally, a central US server. On a game like DBD, ping makes a huge difference. We have Northern California and Oregon on one side, and North Virginia, Ohio, and Montreal on the other. North Virginia and Ohio are practically right next to each other, but we don’t have a single central server, not even Texas or Chicago. Honestly with the game being paid, the huge cast of characters being paid (including the grindable characters because a lot of people will just want to spend the money), some of the skins are paid only, and there's even a battlepass, I'm uncertain as to why certain parts of the world or even North America are covered so much less.
  3. On the note of everything being paid, there are so many characters available, more of them need to either be free or cost less at this point. New players should not be required to spend 500 hours to unlock every F2P character, or spend even more money to get them along with the possibly hundreds of dollars on everything else.
  4. Add the option as a survivor to display your perks to your team in the lobby before the game. This would be opt-in of course with maybe a button in the lobby so that if you're running a funny build or something you can just turn it back off. But this would allow you to be able to make note of any significant perks your teammates are running, like DS or Adrenaline.
  5. Add proximity chat (opt-in): On a balance level this would even the playing field a lot between randoms and SWFs, making it easier to make balance changes to either side. On a community level it might introduce toxicity to the game, but I think it would be so easy to track that toxic people would be more easily banned. On a fun level I think it would just be really fun, especially imagining a Billy or something playing Running In the 90s while they blitz across the map.
  6. Revamp the tutorial to include new systems like Anti-Camp. Make the basic tutorial required, while adding optional advanced tutorials that teach players how to play in common scenarios, such as cooperative endgame unhooks.

a new tutorial is so needed. we have such an old one and it barely teaches much

  • Although it especially applies to the tutorial and character discount suggestions, I really think a lot of these would improve the new player experience so much. Even the proximity voice chat, imagine being a new player, and another player tells you what a perk does when you encounter it in game. Despite it giving the opportunity for toxicity, I think as long as it's properly moderated it could honestly provide an opportunity to more friendly community
