What are the chances we'll see Jake Muller as a survivor?
I'm wondering if Albert Wesker's son could ever make it into the game as a survivor. His relationship with Sherry Birkin could make for a really interesting duo, maybe as a two survivor chapter or even a skin collection.
Do you think Behaviour would ever prioritize them, or would they focus on more popular characters like Ashley Graham?

It would be nice after seeing Leon getting his DSO outfit from 6 in Requiem. But not sure I would assume Capcom and DBD relationship is great after seeing Classic Nemesis.
What are the chances he´d look as chopped as the majority of licensed survivors.
I'm still trying to pretend RE6 never happened.
I heard the game was pretty disappointing, but personally I loved seeing Sherry again.
I also like to pretend that nothing happened after Resident Evil 2... 😅
Noooo 4 and 5 were my babies! Revelations was decent too. Village was also a blast. Even Umbrella Chronicles was a lot of fun.
But we don't talk about Operation: Raccoon City.

I really wasn't a fan of Jake (or RE6 in general to be honest) but the RE Chapters in DbD are pretty solid IMO so I'd gladly take another one.
I'd be curious to hear why you consider 2 the cut-off point.
I absolutely loved 6. It was even my favorite. Was quite bummed about 7 throwing all the main characters out the window and not continuing from 6. I also ended up really enjoying revelations 2 for its multiplayer missions mode where you got to play as most of the re characters, and i ended up having moira burton as a favorite character in re only for her to never show up again lol
I like it when lore is simple to understand, with little to no sequels that change the main character or worsen the original storyline.
In RE 2 remake, not much happens with Leon and Claire beyond their main goals. Some players speculated that Capcom might not have planned a future with Ada because of how she fell, but others believed she more likely used her grapple gun or landed on a rooftop of some kind, despite how fast she was falling for that to be realistic. I really liked the happy ending in that game, it felt complete, and it's easy to imagine how their lives went on from there. But I lost interest after the RE 3 remake because the lore started to feel a bit repetitive.
Don't get me wrong, though. I still like the characters, and I find Jake and Sherry's story really wholesome to read.
Is there a character you would prefer to have instead?
Tons, but some would be pretty niche, like Lisa Trevor and Alex Wesker as killers, and Moira Burton as a survivor (maybe as a Nea skin). Some of the weirder alternate costumes for existing characters would be fun. I'm surprised Leon's mafia outfit hasn't shown up. More obvious choices would, indeed, be Sherry, because she has history before 6. Barry Burton makes sense. Ashley Graham, and Ethan and Rose Winters too. Lady Demetriscu as a killler would be great.

A fair assessment.
I personally disregard everything after 4 for a similar-ish reason. I felt the story and world of RE just became too expansive for its own good. In my opinion, the formula works best when its isolated to a relatively small area — an "evil residence" if you will — like the Spencer Mansion of the first game. The city location in 2/3 and the village from 4 are still isolated enough to be believable for me, but 5 and 6 just got silly with their scope. The whole battle for global domination thing is something I'd expect from a Supehero movie, not a classic survival horror franchise, and I really struggled to suspend my disbelief with all of the boulder punching, battling in aeroplanes, and boss fights in active volcanos going on.
