Why does Counterforce show up in the perk search when you type "boon"?

There is not a single word in the Perk's description with the word "boon" in it, and the perk doesn't affect blessing speeds afaik.

    I also noticed this the other day, and had the same thought. At a glance I thought it was Small Game, which at least activates on boon totems, but even that doesn't apply to Counterforce.

    So you can eat every dull totem as fast as humanly possible, denying your teammates use of their boon perks.

    In the past, I've started to believe BHVR implemented a set of tags for perks in addition to the ability to search perk text. That way when searching for perks related to certain contexts, they'll be easier to find. But I don't have proof of that offhand :/

    A few theories:

    1. On top of the descriptions for perks, each perk has key word tags assigned to them. Maybe boon is incorrectly assigned to counterforce.
    2. The search filter doesn't search the actual perk text, but a hidden "description" of the perk which matches the perk text exactly (in theory). Maybe in development the perk also gave a bonus to boon speeds, but was removed before the PTB and subsequent live release.

    I did a quick experiment in game, thinking that maybe counterforce wouldn't show the auras of boon totems, but it actually overrides the boon aura to show the counterforce aura. Maybe there's something in that hidden description that says "overrides boon auras."

    This is correct; there are certain keywords you can search for that aren't in perk texts. For example, if you search "Halloween", all of Laurie's or Myers's perks will appear (depending on the selected role). So I wouldn't be surprised if "boon" is incorrectly set as a tag for Counterforce when it really shouldn't be.

    Here's the funny thing - If you search "heal", Wicked actually shows up as a result even though it has nothing to do with healing, likely because they originally set that for its original PTB version (that never made it to live) where it had a heal speed bonus and increased recovery speed from the Mangled status effect.

    there's a silly one around somewhere...I think its Houndmaster? if you type "dog" i believe her perks come up.

    They should buff it to give speed bonus to booning as well

    Since it's counter intuitive (you decrease the number of totems available to boon faster) it should not be that strong

    lol I'm a fan of that. It would be fun if searching for 'dog' also brought up Demodog's perks :D

    Also, not sure why someone downvoted a dog-themed comment 🐶
